Family Car Rolls, Multiple Injured, 2 Flown, SEVEN OAKS, June 19, 2022 - Shortly before 11 am on June 19, 2022, a gray 2013 Chrysler 200, driven by Timothy Jermain, 43, of Sheldon, Illinois, was south-bound on US-59. Jermain had four passengers (wife, daughter, and two sons). Jermain apparently fell asleep at the wheel. His vehicle left the pavement to the left, rolled, and came to rest upright. Allegiance Ambulance Service was dispatched to the scene along with the Livingston Volunteer Fire Department Heavy Rescue Unit, and Trooper Nick Hatton with the Texas Highway Patrol. Firemen used the Jaws-of-Life to open the jammed doors. All five occupants were hospitalized (Jermain's wife and one of his sons were flown from the scene to Hermann Hospital in Houston). Jermain and the others were all transported by ambulance to CHI Livingston Memorial Hospital with undisclosed injuries. Traffic on both sides of 59 was partially blocked during investigation and cleanup and completely shut down during flight operations. Jermain's vehicle was recovered by Clifton Chevrolet out of Corrigan. This accident remains under investigation by the Texas Highway Patrol.

TROOPER PURSUES STOLEN VEHICLE, DRIVER FLEES ON FOOT, NEW WILLARD TEXAS, 06/19/22...
Pursuit in Stolen Car, Driver Flees on Foot, NEW WILLARD, June 19, 2022 - At approximately 6:30 am on June 19, 2022, Trooper Chris Cain with the Texas Highway Patrol spotted a navy blue 2011 Buick Enclave south-bound on US-59. The driver was speeding. Trooper Cain attempted to stop the vehicle, but the driver chose to evade. Pursuit was established as the driver quickly exceeded 100 miles per hour. The pursuit continued south-bound and the driver crossed into the north-bound lanes (oncoming traffic). The driver nearly had a head on collision with a north-bound vehicle. The driver then appeared to intentionally leave the pavement to the left drove up an embankment and finally stopped. The driver then jumped out of the vehicle and fled on foot. Cain got to the vehicle and detained the passenger, Elisha Mouton, 20, of Longview.
As It Turns Out...
The vehicle was found to be stolen out of Longview. Mouton claimed that he didn't know the driver, didn't know his name, and that he had only hitched a ride with him. At time of press, (11 am, 06/19/22), the driver remains at large and a manhunt is underway. The driver has allegedly been identified (by Longview Police Department) as 21 year old Antiney Henderson, of Longview. As far as Mouton, he has an extensive criminal history, but his story couldn't be disproven and he was allowed to go. The stolen vehicle was recovered by Ken's Towing and will be stored at Harrison Body Shop in Livingston.

Dump Truck Turns Over at Construction Site, SODA, June 16, 2022 - At approximately 3 pm on June 16, 2022, the driver of a loaded dump truck was driving on a soft incline (off of the road) off US-190 East just east of Turner Cemetery Road. The dump truck turned over. Allegiance Ambulance Service was dispatched to the scene along with the Livingston Volunteer Fire Department, and Troopers Corporal Ramey Bass and Kevin Burman to assist. The driver of the dump truck was treated at the scene (he was complaining of back pain). The Troopers were there only to lend their expertise as the accident did not happen on a public road.

FATAL ACCIDENT, SODA TEXAS, 06/01/22...
Fatal Accident on 190 East, SODA, June 1, 2022 - At approximately 3:20 pm on June 1, 2022, a blue 2017 Chevy Silverado pickup, driven by Robin Riley Crawford, 56, of Livingston, was west-bound on US-190 East. Crawford was stopped and waiting to make a left turn onto Tom Cummings Road. Behind Crawford was a black 2017 Nissan Rogue, driven by Jacky Ray Keith, 85, of Dayton. Keith was suddenly slammed from behind by a dark gray 2006 Jeep Cherokee driven by Keante Patrice Walker, 30, of Livingston. Walker was apparently distracted when she slammed into the back of Keith's vehicle. The impact knocked Keith's vehicle into the back of Crawford's pickup. Walker's vehicle bounced to the right and left the pavement to the right and came to rest in the weeds. Crawford pulled onto Tom Cummings Road, and Keith's vehicle remained on the pavement. Allegiance Ambulance Service was dispatched to the scene along with the Livingston Volunteer Fire Department Heavy Rescue Unit, Deputies with the Polk County Sheriff's Office and Troopers Chris Cain, David Morris, Donny Akers, and Sergeant Sam Lattner with the Texas Highway Patrol. All three drivers were transported by ambulance to CHI Livingston Memorial Hospital with undisclosed injuries. Jacky Keith passed away shortly after arriving. All traffic on 190 was blocked during investigation and cleanup. All three vehicles were recovered by Ken's Towing and will be stored at Harrison Body Shop in Livingston. Ken's Towing was assisted by Dan's Towing. Charges for Walker and likely pending. This accident remains under investigation by the Texas Highway Patrol.

The Ford Edge was recovered by Kwik Tow out of Livingston and the Nissan Rogue was recovered by Dan's Towing out of Livingston.

Car Strikes Moving Van From Behind, BLANCHARD, May 25, 2022 - At approximately 8:30 am on Mayy 25, 2022, a large moving van box type truck was west-bound on FM-3126 (near Tigerville Park). The driver of the Nissan was cited for failure to control speed, no driver's license, and no insurance. HIGH SPEED PURSUIT, 3 SUSPECTS CAUGHT, LIVINGSTON TEXAS, 05/22/22...
Pursuit Starts in Corrigan, Ends South of Livingston, LIVINGSTON, May 22, 2022 - At approximately 10:30 pm on May 22, 2022, Polk County Dispatch radioed to all units that a pursuit was in progress. Corrigan Police attempted to stop a vehicle (older model Chevy pickup) and the driver decided it would be a good idea to evade. The pursuit started on and continued in the south-bound lanes of US-59 and continued with consistent speeds of over 100 miles per hour. Other agencies joined in the pursuit including State Troopers, Deputies with the Polk County Sheriff's Office, and units with the Livingston Police Department. The suspect vehicle was successfully tire spiked in the Livingston area. The pickup finally left the pavement to the right just south of the Livingston City Limits and stopped in high weeds. One suspect temporarily escaped into the high weeds. Two other suspects were immediately apprehended by Livingston Police Officers. Moments after that, Livingston Officers caught the third suspect hiding in the tall weeds and immediately took him into custody. That's all the information that we have at this time. Pickups Collide, One Rolls, SCHWAB CITY, May 13, 2022 - At approximately 3:30 pm on May 13, 2022, the driver of a white Ford F-150 (pulling a small trailer) was south-bound on US-146. As the pickup was about to pass Forest Springs, a blue Chevy pickup pulled out of the Forest Springs entrance and failed to yield to the Ford. The vehicles collided as the Ford grazed the front end of the Chevy. The collision caused the Ford to leave the pavement to the right and roll. The Ford came to rest upside down. The Chevy remained on the pavement. Amazingly, there were no injuries. The driver of the blue Chevy was cited for failure to yield. Both vehicles were recovered by Ken's Towing and will be stored at Harrison Body Shop in Livingston.

Passer bys stopped to help Jones. Jones was transported by ambulance to CHI Livingston Memorial Hospital. Jones appeared to be in pain and stated that he had difficulty breathing. Jones was cited for unsafe speed. Traffic on 350 was partially blocked during investigation and cleanup. His motorcycle was recovered by friends.

2 Vehicle Accident Turns Fatal, LIVINGSTON, May 7, 2022 - During the six o'clock a.m. hour on May 7, 2022, a maroon Toyota Tundra, was north-bound on US-146 (1800 block) when a white 2021 Ford F-250 appeared to have crossed the center line causing a glancing head on collision. The impact obliterated the Toyota (driven by Rance Cole, 54, of Livingston). The Ford (driven by Seth Jacob Marceaux, 29, of Livingston) continued across the north-bound lanes and came to rest in an adjoining parking lot. Allegiance Ambulance Service was disaptched to the scene along with the Livingston Volunteer Fire Department Heavy Rescue Unit, and Officers Chris Simmons and Chad Lilley with the Livingston Police Department. Rance Cole was transported by ambulance to CHI Livingston Memorial Hospital where he passed away a short time later. Marceaux was physically okay. A field sobriety test was administered and Marceaux was placed under arrest for driving while intoxicated. Due to the passing of Cole, the charge was elevated to intoxication-manslaughter. All traffic on 146 was blocked during investigation and cleanup. Both vehicles were recovered by LakeView Wrecker and will be stored in Livingston.

For some reason, Vera left the pavement to the left just north of Goat Hill Road. Her vehicle slid into the center median and, according to witnesses, rolled about six times. Vera's vehicle came to rest upright in the grass facing south. Allegiance Ambulance Service was dispatched to the scene along with the Corrigan Volunteer Fire Department and Trooper Nick Hatton with the Texas Highway Patrol. Vera was transported by ambulance to a hospital in Lufkin. Traffic was not blocked during investigation and cleanup. It is not yet known why Vera left the pavement. Her vehicle was recovered by Riley Wrecker Service out of Corrigan. This accident remains under investigation by the Texas Highway Patrol.

Wrong Way Driver Causes Head On Collision, GOODRICH, April 15, 2022 - At approximately 1:40 pm on April 15, 2022, a white 2021 Nissan Armada, driven by Ralph Cadwalder, 62, of Shepherd, was north-bound on US-59 with his wife, Pamela, just south of the Goodrich Truckstop. Suddenly a dark gray 2010 Chrysler Town & Country minivan was coming straight at them. The minivan, driven by Jeremy Gyiraszin, 46, of Westfield, Michigan, traveling south-bound in the north-bound lanes of traffic. The vehicles swerved but still collided (glancing head on collision). Cadwalder's vehicle slid into the center median and came to rest facing south. Gyiraszin's vehicle came to rest on the pavement facing east. Allegiance Ambulance Service was dispatched to the scene along with the Livingston Volunteer Fire Department Heavy Rescue Unit, Deputies from the Polk County Sheriff's Office, Constables from Precint 1, and Troopers Nick Hatton, Kevin Burman, and Corporal Ramey Bass with the Texas Highway Patrol. Pam Cadwalder was entrapped in her vehicle. Firemen used the Jaws-of-Life to cut the doors off and safely extract her from the Nissan. Ralph Cadwalder and his wife Pam were both transported by ambulance to CHI Livingston Memorial Hospital where a medical helicopter landed and transported both to Hermann Hospital in Houston. Gyiraszin was transported by ambulance to CHI Livingston Memorial Hospital. Traffic on the north-bound side on 59 was blocked during investigation and cleanup. It is not yet known why Gyiraszin was traveling south on the north-bound side of 59, but it is being investigated and a toxicology report is pending. Cadwalder's vehicle was recovered by Kwik Tow out of Livingston, and Gyiraszin's vehicle was recovered by Fawbush Wrecker out of Goodrich. This accident remains under investigation by the Texas Highway Patrol.

Ormsbee slammed into the driver's side of Gardner with a glancing blow. The impact caused Ormsbee's vehicle to leave the pavement to the left and continue into small wooded area. Gardner pulled into the parking lot. Allegiance Ambulance Service was dispatched to the scene along with the Livingston Volunteer Fire Department Heavy Rescue Unit, and Troopers Cotye Lowrie and Donny Akers with the Texas Highway Patrol. Ormsbee was pinned in his vehicle with injuries. Volunteer firemen used the Jaws-of-Life to cut the door off of Ormsbee's car to get to him. Ormsbee was transported by ambulance to Livingston Municipal Airport where a Life Flight Helicopter landed and transported him to Hermann Hospital. Gardner was not injured. Traffic on 350 South was partially blocked during investigation and cleanup. Ormsbee was cited for passing to the left when unsafe. Gardner was cited for no driver's license. Ormsbee's vehicle was recovered by Fawbush Wrecker and will be stored in Livingston. Gardner's vehicle was recovered by a friend.

Trailer Comes Disconnected From Pickup, Causes Rollover, SPRING CREEK, April 7, 2022 - At approximately 12:20 pm on April 7, 2022, a white 2010 Dodge pickup (pulling a trailer), was west-bound on US-190 West (about a quarter mile east of the Corner Shell Station). According to witnesses, the trailer became disconnected and rammed the truck causing the driver, Darrell Louviere, 75, of Livingston, to lose control. Louviere left the pavement to the left, the trailer somehow wedged up under the pickup causing it to roll. The pickup came to rest on its driver's side facing east. The trailer continued through the center median, crossed the east-bound lanes of 190 and ended up in a drainage ditch at the woodline. Allegiance Ambulance Service was dispatched to the scene along with the Livingston Volunteer Fire Department Heavy Rescue Unit, and Troopers Sean Barnes and Nick Hatton with the Texas Highway Patrol. Louviere was trapped in his pickup. Firemen used the Jaws-of-Life to cut the roof off of the truck and were able to remove Louviere from his truck. Louviere was transported by ambulance to CHI Livingston Memorial Hospital where an air medical helicopter transported him to Houston in critical condition. Traffic on the west-bound side of 190 was partially blocked during investigation and cleanup. LakeView Wrecker was summoned to clean up the mess. This accident remains under investigation by the Texas Highway Patrol.

A young deer sprang from the grass and broadsided Adams on her right side. The collision caused Adams to lose control of her motorcycle. Her bike left the pavement to the right. The bike turned over in a ditch, Adams was ejected, she was not wearing a helmet. Allegiance Ambulance Service was dispatched to the scene, along with Scenic Loop Volunteer Fire Department, and Trooper Donny Akers with the Texas Highway Patrol. Adams was lying on her back as EMS personnel surrounded her. She was transported by ambulance to FM-3126 next to Blanchard Baptist Church where an landing zone was set up. An Air Life medical helicopter landed on 2457. Adams was flown to Conroe with serious injuries. No citations were issued. Adams' motorcycle was recovered by Ken's Towing and will be stored at Harrison Body Shop in Livingston. This accident remains under investigation by the Texas Highway Patrol.

INTOXICATED DRIVER STRIKES VEHICLE FROM BEHIND 2 TIMES, GOODRICH, APRIL 4, 2022...
Intoxicated Driver Strikes Vehicle from Behind Twice, GOODRICH, April 4, 2022 - At approximately 4:30 pm on April 4, 2022, the Polk County Sheriff's Office began receiving calls regarding a reckless driver. Witnesses stated that the driver of a red Chevy Cruze was severely weaving, swerving into oncoming traffic, leaving the road into the grass, then back onto the pavement. The vehicle was north-bound on US-59 in the southern area of Goodrich. The driver struck another vehicle from behind. The vehicle pulled to the shoulder. The driver then pulled behind that vehicle struck the vehicle from behind again. Trooper Donny Akers with the Texas Highway Patrol was dispatched to investigate and was assisted by Deputy Ethan Placker with the Polk County Sheriff's Office and Game Warden, Justin Amundson. The driver, Clara Rosenkranz, 62, of Conroe, wouldn't exit her vehicle. Trooper Akers gathered information from the driver of the vehicle that had been struck from behind. Once Akers was done with her, she was free to go. Akers then turned his attention of Rosenkranz and ordered her to step out of her vehicle. Rosenkranz eventually complied. Akers administered a field sobriety test on Rosenkranz and placed her under arrest for driving while intoxicated (second offense). Official protocol calls for a vehicle inventory that turned up multiple bottles of pills and controlled substances. Rosenkranz was also charged with two counts of possession of a controlled substance (one of the counts was a felony). Rosenkranz was transported to Polk County Jail to be booked in. BOX TRUCK FAILS TO YIELD, COLLISION/ROLLOVER ENSUES, GOODRICH TEXAS, 03/28/22...
Box Truck Fails to Yield, Collision/Rollover Ensues, GOODRICH, March 28, 2022 - At approximately 3:45 pm on March 28, 2022, a white 2002 Chevy 3500 pickup (pulling a loaded trailer) driven by Lance Hayden Malone, 28, of Tomball, was south-bound on US-59. As Malone was about to pass the north end of Loop 393, a large box truck, driven by Eric Cuellar, 31, of Houston, pulled off of 393 and directly in front of Malone's pickup. Malone's pickup slammed into the back of Cuellar's box truck. The collision sent Cuellar off the pavement to the right. The box truck turned over, rolled through a traffic sign, and came to rest on its driver's side facing north. Malone's vehicle left the pavement to the left and came to rest in the center median. Allegiance Ambulance Service was dispatched to the scene along with Corporal Ramey Bass and Trooper Chris Cain with the Texas Highway Patrol. Cuellar had cuts on his head from the accident but climbed out of his vehicle. Malone was physically okay. Traffic on 59 was not blocked during investigation and cleanup. Cuellar was cited for failing to yield to oncoming traffic. He was also transported by ambulance to CHI Livingston Memorial Hospital. Both vehicles were recovered by Ken's Towing and will be stored at Harrison Body Shop in Livingston.

Pickups Collide on 190 West, LIVINGSTON, March 25, 2022 - At approximately 7:08 pm on March 25, 2022, a red Dodge duly pickup was east-bound on 190 West. The driver suddenly cut right to avoid a full T-bone collision with a red GMC pickup that attempted to cross over from the west-bound lanes to Stewart Road. The Dodge slammed into the GMC with a glancing blow. The Dodge slid off the road to the right and came to rest in the grass. The GMC came to rest on the pavement. Allegiance Ambulance Service was dispatched to the scene along with Troopers Chris Cain and Kevin Burman with the Texas Highway Patrol. Fortunately, there were no injuries. The driver of the GMC was cited for failing to yield. The Dodge was recovered by Ken's Towing and will be stored at Harrison Body Shop in Livingston. The GMC was recovered by LakeView Wrecker and will be stored in Livingston.

SUV vs LARGE BOX TRUCK, SPRING CREEK TEXAS, 09/23/22...
SUV Slams Into Box Truck, SPRING CREEK, March 23, 2022 - At approximately 11:47 am on March 23, 2022, a large box truck, driven by Kalandus Phillips, 31, of Lufkin, was west-bound on US-190 West. Phillips slowed down to make a right turn and was slammed from behind by a silver 2019 Kia Sedona, driven by Larissa Taylor, 26, of Onalaska. Taylor was traveling behind Phillips and was apparently distracted when she failed to notice that Phillips had slowed down. Taylor noticed at the last second and cut left but still impacted Phillips. The impact caused Phillips' truck to turn over in the spot where he was turning. Taylor's vehicle spun around and came to rest facing north on the pavement. Allegiance Ambulance Service was dispatched to the scene along with Troopers Donny Akers, Nick Hatton, and Sergeant Sam Lattner with the Texas Highway Patrol. Amazingly, there were no injuries. Traffic on 190 was partially blocked during investigation and cleanup. Taylor was cited for failure to control speed. Her vehicle was recovered by LakeView Wrecker and will be stored in Livingston. A heavy duty wrecker was sent for to recover Phillips' vehicle.

SUV Broad Sides Pickup, Boy Hospitalized, LIVINGSTON, March 22, 2022 - At approximately 3:05 pm on March 22, 2022, a navy blue 2013 Jeep Patriot, driven by Crystal Lynn Aday, 37, of Livingston, was south-bound on Pan American Drive. As Aday was about to pass Satisfied Drive, a white 2011 Dodge Ram 1500 pickup, driven by Devin Wayne Wright, 30, of Shepherd, attempted to cross over from the north-bound lanes onto Satisfied Drive, but failed to yield to Aday. Aday's Jeep impacted the passenger's side door of Wright's pickup. Both vehicles came to rest on the pavement on Satisfied Drive. Allegiance Ambulance Service was dispatched to the scene along with Officers Chad Lilley, Sergeant Dallas Early, and Police Chief, Matt Parish. Aday's son appeared to be in serious pain in his upper right leg. The youngster was transported by ambulance to CHI Livingston Memorial Hospital. Wright was cited for failure to yield at a crossover. Aday's vehicle was recovered by Ken's Towing and will be stored at Harrison Body Shop in Livingston. Wright's pickup was driven from the scene.

TANKER TRUCK TURNS OVER, BIG SANDY TEXAS, 03/20/22...
Tanker Truck Turns Over, BIG SANDY, March 20, 2022 - At approximately 8:25 am on March 20, 2022, an 18 wheeler tanker, driven by Vernon Lee Smith, 65, of Saratoga, was south-bound on FM-1276. Smith entered a curve too fast (about 4 miles south of Big Sandy School), his 18 wheeler left the pavement to the left and turned over on its driver's side. Smith was entrapped. The Alabama Coushatta and Segno Volunteer Fire Departments were dispatched to the scene along with Allegiance Ambulance Service and Trooper Cotye Lowrie with the Texas Highway Patrol. Emergency personnel were able to safely remove Smith from his cab. Smith was transported by ambulance to CHI Livingston Memorial Hospital with undisclosed injuries. Smith was hauling salt water. The tanker ruptured and was leaking the salt water. Traffic on 1276 was blocked during investigation and cleanup. Smith will be cited for unsafe speed. A heavy duty wrecker was sent for to clean up the mess.
