Trailer Comes Disconnected From Pickup, Causes Rollover, SPRING CREEK, April 7, 2022 - At approximately 12:20 pm on April 7, 2022, a white 2010 Dodge pickup (pulling a trailer), was west-bound on US-190 West (about a quarter mile east of the Corner Shell Station). According to witnesses, the trailer became disconnected and rammed the truck causing the driver, Darrell Louviere, 75, of Livingston, to lose control. Louviere left the pavement to the left, the trailer somehow wedged up under the pickup causing it to roll. The pickup came to rest on its driver's side facing east. The trailer continued through the center median, crossed the east-bound lanes of 190 and ended up in a drainage ditch at the woodline. Allegiance Ambulance Service was dispatched to the scene along with the Livingston Volunteer Fire Department Heavy Rescue Unit, and Troopers Sean Barnes and Nick Hatton with the Texas Highway Patrol. Louviere was trapped in his pickup. Firemen used the Jaws-of-Life to cut the roof off of the truck and were able to remove Louviere from his truck. Louviere was transported by ambulance to CHI Livingston Memorial Hospital where an air medical helicopter transported him to Houston in critical condition. Traffic on the west-bound side of 190 was partially blocked during investigation and cleanup. LakeView Wrecker was summoned to clean up the mess. This accident remains under investigation by the Texas Highway Patrol.
