Concrete Truck Broadsides Pickup, PROVIDENCE, April 22, 2022 - At approximately 1:20 pm on April 22, 2022, a concrete mixer truck driven by Romero Peña, 46, of Tomball, was south-bound on US-146. As Peña was about to pass FM-1988 (next to R&D Grocery), a red 1994 Ford F-150 driven by Miguel Morales Robles, 36, of Livingston, pulled off of 1988 and directly in front of Peña and stopped. Peña's vehicle broadsided Robles' vehicle. The impact pushed Robles' vehicle across the north-bound lanes into a drainage area. Peña came to a stop on the pavement. Allegiance Ambulance Service was dispatched to the scene along with the Livingston Volunteer Fire Department Heavy Rescue Unit and Troopers Kevin Burman and Donny Akers with the Texas Highway Patrol. Robles was pinned in his vehicle. Firemen used the Jaws-of-Life to cut the driver's side doors off. Robles was transported by ambulance to CHI Livingston Memorial Hospital with undisclosed injuries. Peña appeared to be okay. Traffic on the north-bound side of 146 was blocked during investigation and cleanup. Robles was cited for failing to yield. Robles' vehicle was recovered by Ken's Towing and will be stored at Harrison Body Shop in Livingston. Peña's vehicle was recovered by a heavy-duty wrecker that his company sent for.

Special thank you: Ken with Ken's Towing
