Rest, Relax and Receive
There are people who don’t believe in the principle of resting, relaxing and receiving.
I used to be one of those people.
Between age 13 and 43 I only had one gear, and that was top speed. Everything had to happen fast, so I could cram as much in the day as possible.
I had forgotten that I was a human being and turned into a human doing.
The only times that time stood still was when I sat down to breastfeed my babies.
Thankfully I had a lot of babies, six in all, and I loved the whole process of mothering, so I had a lot of breastfeeding-down-time between age 19 and 34, which probably prepared me for what was to come.
At age 43 I got hit by a truck.
My life came to a shocking standstill.
I had to completely let go of the reigns and surrender to the journey of recovering what was lost.
Everything relied on the principles of Rest, Relax so I could Receive Miracles.
I needed 3 big miracles.
The miracle of staying alive, and after that, regaining full use of my body.
The miracle of avoiding bankruptcy.
Pete had just quit his nursing career to join me fulltime in the clinic.
We had just taken out a second mortgage to buy and renovate the Purple House.
We had six children between age 12 and 24, who were in varying stages of dependency.
The miracle of my children being OK with or without a healthy fit mum.
At the time, I didn’t realize that REST, RELAX and RECEIVE is a principle for living.
For creating a wonderful, fulfilling life.
But I knew that if I resisted or struggled against this principle, I would die.
My principles had been RUSH, HUSTLE, WORK HARDER, OVERCOME the STRUGGLE, so I can ACHIEVE.
Admittedly, I had achieved a lot, but it had been done it by completely overextending myself.
RECEIVING wasn’t in my dictionary.
I am sure the Universe had been trying to tell me to slow down many times.

Have you ever had to dig for water?
Pete and I did, back in our farm-steading days in the 1980’s.
We were living in the back of beyond, and the tap water was disgusting.
Pete started digging a well on the side of a hill after a highly reputable water diviner had pointed out the exact spot where we would find a spring of fresh water.
To cut a long story short, Peter dug one meter a day, and after 30 days, there was no sign of water.
We had to reluctantly close the dangerous 30-meter hole, because the school holidays were round the corner and we had 3 little kids at the time.
Thankfully, we were able to source water from a different spring eventually.
I was reminded of our early days, full of hard work and challenges, while watching YouTube of an older couple cleaning up a murky well on their property in Portugal.
They had moved from England to this derelict property, and were all excited about their adventure, just like Pete and I had been many lifetimes ago.
After cleaning out buckets of slop and mud, their well was finally fully excavated.
However, there was no water at the bottom.
The woman in the story was an avid gardener, and she went to bed hoping that there would be a miraculous stream of water at the bottom of the hole in the morning.
The man shook his head.
He had given up on finding water there.

Finding happiness and meaning!
The meaning of life is not something that can be found out there..
It’s an experience that we have internally.
Society teaches us to chase after happiness.
The truth is that happiness is always fleeting.
And, to live a life without regrets, we need to focus on the meaning of life.
Here are 3 things that get in the way of leading a meaningful life:
1. Your boots are too small for you.
Living a small life is hard on your soul.
Get some bigger boots, ones that give your room to grow!
You are never too big for your boots!
Your life matters, you are important and the Divine has invested everything in you, so don’t hold yourself back.
2. Most people unconsciously live out their parents’ lives.
Especially if one of the parents lived an unfulfilled life, you often tend to make up for that parent unconsciously.
Whether you resist your childhood programming or not, your parents’ influence was and is huge!
Begin to see how you are different, and recognize your own genius.
3. Many people live in autopilot mode, which is the opposite of being on Purpose.
The REMEDY is to ask yourself constantly:
What is my life’s purpose?
Who am I?
What am I here for?
Is there something I am not seeing?
Please show me the meaning of my life. (Asking the Universe)
Unless you ask, you are not going to have an answer!

7 steps to turn your fears into opportunities
There are two kinds of people in the world.
People who see obstacles and people who see opportunity.
The people who see opportunities will create more opportunities and enjoy more successes.
Most of us are somewhere in between these two groups.
But there is one thing we all have in common!
Our first reaction in the face of insecurity and change is fear.
*Fear of being unable to get what we want.
*Fear of losing what we have.
*Fear of losing control.
*Fear of embarrassment or being shamed.
*Fear of dying.
*Fear is created by our mind/ego, by the programming of our nervous system from our ancestors, and society.
*Fear is an illusion.
Sometimes we experience the truth of who we are in the most shocking moments.
I had an epiphany of my own Essence when I got hit by a truck and left my body for a few moments.
Once I was outside my nervous system, I experienced a state of bliss and inner peace.
I had reconnected to the field of infinite acceptance and unconditional love.
We all come from this place and we will return to it.
I am happy to inform you that there are no obstacles in that space.
I received a new perspective on life, and this perspective supported me all through my recovery from near-fatal injuries.
Having a new perspective on life is different from having all the answers.
Sometimes we believe that if only I was smart enough, or got another degree, or worked harder, I will be more successful and at peace.
When in reality, all you need is a shift in perspective.
And you don’t need to die first to receive this perspective.
You can gain a completely new perspective by dropping into your core essence.
Wisdom always dwells there.
The answers you are looking for are waiting to be found in this place.
So the first step in overcoming fear, and beginning to see opportunities rather than obstacles, is to receive a change in the way you perceive your life.
A shift in perspective is always accompanied by a shift in your body chemistry.
That means you will experience a positive change on a cellular level.
Your body will begin to pump out serotonin and dopamine, the love and peace hormones.

There is part of your brain that is very gullible, prone to follow the herd, with a low IQ, and it reacts childlike sometimes as if it has no ability to consider the long-term consequences of its actions.
Even Einstein had a brain like that.
It is called the limbic system, and this part of your brain becomes alive when you are in fear.
It is the part of your brain that is totally geared towards survival.
It isn’t interested in you stepping up, shining your light, elevating yourself, or going after your soul purpose.
To your limbic brain, which is situated behind your ears, all those things spell DANGER, and it will send out stress hormones, that cause the blood to flow to the survival brain, and now you say and do things that don’t come from your ‘right mind!”

Three things that happen during trauma
There are some things that happen during a trauma that is not often talked about, but it’s important for you to know.
During a trauma, our mind tries to protect us by creating separation, and it has two choices.
1. The first one is separate from the event or the person that is harming us.
2. The second is separate from ourselves if it’s too difficult to separate from the person or event that is harming us, such as when we’re a child and we need to rely on a caregiver or when we’re an adult and we want to remain part of the group.
Then we separate from ourselves it is called fracturing or splitting off.
It happens when we stop our emotion midway and this becomes what I call a frozen emotion inside our neurology.
We separate from the part of ourselves that holds that emotion this leaves us afraid, inauthentic and unhappy.
3. During the split seconds that all this is going on, our mind adopts a new core belief about ourselves in response to this trauma.
It does this purely out of protection.
The mind’s job is to protect us and keep us alive at all cost.
Your mind might say: Oh Sh*t, that was not OK, I better make sure it doesn’t happen again.
In an attempt to stop it from happening again, the mind will create a core belief about ‘who we are’ in response to the chaos of the traumatic experience.
Our minds hate chaos, so it will create a ‘new order’ by forming a protective strategy/ a set of instructions for us to live by to avoid future trauma.

Your solar plexus, often referred to as your third chakra, is a powerhouse of energy.
If you could access that energy easily, you would be unstoppable.

Are you living the right life ?
One of my clients wanted to know “if she was living the right life?”
Have you ever wondered about that for yourself?
Do YOU know if you are living the life “you are meant to live”?
I read a story about a man, who went on a quest to find an answer to this question.
“I don’t want to live a half-dead life, I want to suck the marrow out to the bone, I want to make sure I get every drop of life from this life.” He spoke.
He went on to live in the woods where he treated life as an experiment.
He wanted to live with greater lightness, to learn what life had to teach him, and not be on his deathbed and realize that I have not really lived.
I guess that my client had the same fear.
Today I want to give you some pointers and then do a short meditation to give you that sense of lightness that the man got from living in the woods.
Because let’s be honest, not everyone can just get up and leave, to create a life-altering experiment.
How do you know you are on the right track with life?
The first thing that springs to my mind, is that it feels very freeing.
You don’t feel trapped.
If your life isn’t feeling very free at the moment, you can change it by noticing how you make your decisions.
With every decision you make, ask yourself: is this coming from a place of fear or a place of love?
It is a fact that most humans wake up on a fear frequency, go through the motions of the day, and go to bed at night still in that same constricting fear-based energy.
Another great way to put it is: What would I do right now if I really loved myself?
What would a person who loved herself do in this situation?

It makes them too uncomfortable.
For most people it is harder to have and honest conversation about money than it is to talk about sex or childhood trauma.
We are all ‘knotted up’ about money.
To us, money represents so much more than dollars and cents.
It is tied up to our deepest emotional needs for love, power, security, control, independence and self-worth.
It’s impossible to be an adult and not have some deep-seated beliefs about money and the way that it fits into our lives.
Most people never questions their beliefs so their fortunes never change.
Our beliefs are not based on science or truth, they are simply stories repeated like a mantra.

Connecting with your emotional IQ
As most of you know, I almost died in a terrible accident in 2006.
I got hit by a truck and was left with crippling injuries.
Nobody knew if I would live, or if I did, what sort of quality of life I would have.
I had a brain injury, broken spine, smashed pelvis, and internal bleeding.
Thankfully, I made a miraculous recovery in an incredibly short time.
5 months after this accident, I went back to work.
Since then, I have learned everything I could about every aspect of health, researching every spare moment.
The CDC, the Centre for Disease control’s website, says that 85% of all illness has an emotional basis.
And the reason they can say this is because of all the work going on in the field of cellular healing.
What I know about emotions and the effect they have on our cells is that when you feel a strong emotion, and you repress it, it changes your biochemistry.
This has effect has been measured and noted by scientists.
This chemical created by suppressing the emotion, will go to certain cells and cell receptors and block them, rendering those cells incapable of communicating with the rest of the cells in the body.
This is called an energy blockage.

Unlocking your personal wealth potential
The word ‘chakra’ gets thrown around a lot in alternative healing, not so much in the financial world.
But, did you know that your chakra system is your road map for personal wealth?
Your entire history is written inside your chakra system.
That includes your Money DNA.
How successful or not your ancestors were, affects you hugely today.
It is all hidden inside the energies of your body/mind system, which is controlled by your chakras.

I believe the future of medicine is Energy Medicine.
It makes sense when you think about it, because we are 99.9999% energy and only 0.0001% matter.
Why doesn’t everyone use energy medicine to heal their bodies and their problems, when energy is the motivating force that creates and drive everything?

Some of us can see energy, others can feel it, and every single human is born with all their senses right open, including a sixth sense.

Why falling apart is just as important as keeping it together!
For many of us, the year 2022 has been a ‘grief year’!
Collectively, so much of what we thought we knew about ourselves, who we are, and what matters most to us, has been called into question.
We have had a little taste of what the caterpillar goes through before it becomes a butterfly.
It completely dissolves itself into a nutrient rich soup, from which it will begin to take a new form as a butterfly.
It’s as if our old world has been liquified and we aren’t quite on solid ground yet.
So many of us grieving the death of a loved one.
Others are grieving the loss of an old dream or their old life.
The dream that things were going to go back to normal.
In my experience this grief is sacred.
Grief is an old friend that appears at different stages of our journey, to help us clarify what is most important for us, and how we can best use our limited time here.
While we are in the company of grief, there is a fresh realisation of how tenuous, fragile and precious life.
Grief offers us a reminder to approach our lives in a more inspired and heartfelt way.

Have you ever had a brush with death, eg an accident or serious illness?
This can leave you wondering what happens to us after death.
It’s in our nature to try and make sense of all the things we don’t know.
But given that nobody has ever truly died and come back, no-one really knows for sure what happens after we pass over.
This means that all beliefs are equally valid.
So if your belief about the afterlife blocks your joy today, walk away from it.
Replace it with a belief that uplifts and inspires you.
Did you know that the fear of death is the number one fear that all people share.
Only humans know they are going to die, no other organisms are conscious of this concept.
This fear of death leaves us open to being programmed into victim mentality.
We can give our power away to outsiders (a guru, doctor, church minister, government) and stop looking inside, where the real answers and solutions are.
You begin to believe that things happen TO you, rather than FOR You.
The fear of death, and the ensuing mind programming, makes you forget that you came here as a being of light, with the creative power to build your own reality.
So our first programming simply came as a response to the fear of death.
Every other limiting program was built on that.
Therefore I find it so important to release the stress and overwhelm that people feel around the idea of their own death, so some of this negative programming drops away.
