Car on fire causes major traffic jam
After a day scuba diving at Porteau Cover Provincial Park, the cameraman and his wife were minutes out of the area when they came across a traffic jam and noticed billowing black smoke in the near distance. Hearing sirens in the distance, Brent continued to shuffle through traffic to get closer to the front of the line as he knew this was going to be a time consuming incident. Once near the front of the stopped traffic, Brent got out and began recording as the firefighters tackled the blaze. Being in a rural area, the firefighters of Britannia Beach are volunteers, which meant approximately a 20 minute arrival time from the time of the 911 call. Once they arrived they sprung into action and got the gear all ready and began fighting the 2 fires. The mini one being the vehicle, and once that was under control a second group of firefighters tackled the grass fire beside the highway.

Amazing Honey Bee, A creature WE can not live without
As we all know, without honey bees as well as other bees, we as humans can not survive easily. Bees of all varieties live on nectar and pollen which they gather from flowering plants. Without bees, pollination would be difficult and time consuming - it is estimated that one-third of the human food supply depends on insect pollination.
The cameraman was able to catch some great footage of just how hard the honey bee works to gather the pollen which you can see attached to its legs just below its wings.
A very fascinating insect.

Bull bucks off Cowboy then gives him one final nudge
While visiting the annual Cloverdale B.C Canada rodeo and country fair Brent the cameraman came across this mechanical bull riding challenge. There were a number of spectators and challengers taking a chance at riding this old bull. This guy although being a younger more athletic looking challenger, did about as well as one of the older challengers, which was Brent himself. It was fun watching the different ways that some try to stay aboard this old bull, but none succeeded more that a couple minutes. As slow as the movement of the bull seems, Brent said" it seems a lot faster when you are on the back of that guy".
The Cloverdale Rodeo in it's 71st year and the Country Fair in it's 129th year is a four day Rodeo and Fair that brings in crowds and competitors to one of Western Canada's most popular family events attracting over 90,000 spectators yearly.

Wild Rodeo Bronc Bucks off Cowboy and Saddle
During the May long weekend Cloverdale B.C Rodeo, Brent the cameraman took in the excitement of the exhibition. Along with other events, Brent felt the Saddle Bronc event was the most exciting. These horses came straight out of the gate going hell bent for leather bucking like they had a bee under the saddle.
This detailed ride was the fastest, most aggressive one of the event and Brent was glad he got it on camera.
You can feel the power of the Bronc, and the shear bravery of the Cowboy.

Dog terrified of windstorm Climbs into Owners lap
Poncho our rescue dog from Mexico has some definite quirks. She is brave when things enter our yard, but with storms, she is definitely not brave. Recently there was a wind storm with gust near 40 miles per hour. With that trees were rustling in the yard, and wind was whistling through parts of the house . Poncho came charging onto Brent's lap and pushed against him as hard as she could. Shaking with trembling ears and body she would not move for about an hour. Even comforting could not stop the shaking. Once the winds died down a bit she then went into her bed and was given a treat and her favourite toy.

Dog Guards Her New Toy With Her Life
Poncho our rescue dog from Mexico is really a lover not a fighter. But her funny characteristics, one being she pretends to guard some toys, and my daughters bedroom, the bedroom being the strongest one she guards.
The cameraman had got this new toy from the movie theatre this same night and figured it would be perfect for Poncho, and she loved it. Not every toy she gets she guards in this way so this was quite funny .
She never bites but sometimes will nudge a hand with her nose, telling you she means business.
In the end Poncho was all love with her dad and showed it by kissing his hand. She is a great pet.

Drunk Divers: The effects of nitrogen narcosis
A group of divers from the Fraser Valley Scuba Club near Vancouver Canada had arranged with a local university to experience the effects of nitrogen narcosis in the decompression chamber. Nitrogen narcosisis is a reversible alteration in consciousness that occurs while diving at depth. It is caused by the anesthetic effect of certain gases at high pressure. Narcosis produces a state similar to drunkenness (alcohol intoxication), or nitrous oxide inhalation. It can occur during shallow dives, but does not usually become noticeable at depths less than 30 meters (100 ft). When the group arrived at the chamber location, they were given a briefing of how everything would play out and what to expect. With very rigid rules of what was allowed inside the chamber, everyone was required to don scrubs. The first group to go, was the one in this video. All friends and one father and daughter. Upon the descent, created by compressing the air inside the chamber, ear protection was required because of the loud hissing of compression. With the compression of the air, the temperature inside increased to around 90 ' f, quite warm. As the depth approached 100 feet, the narcosis was becoming noticeable in some of the divers, giggling was a sure sign. One of the women did have some issues equalizing her ears, but toughed it out and made it through. At the maximum depth reached of 150 feet, everyone's voices were as if they had inhaled helium, very squeaky, which was quite funny. Apparently caused by the pressure on the vocal cords along with sound waves being altered from the internal pressures of the chamber. Upon ascent, the inverse occurred, air expands causing fog, and the temperatures dropped to around 50 degrees f. After the experience, everyone talked about what they felt during the narcosis time, some laughed and some felt somewhat normal. A great experience to realize how you feel when "narc'd" so as a diver you can work through the feeling if you needed to deal with an emergency while at depth.

Playful ground squirrels lovingly fed by locals
While visiting Manning Park Resort in British Columbia, Canada, Brent and Elsa noticed a number of ground squirrels running all over the field at the resort. Always having cameras along, Brent decided to record some footage of the playful and somewhat tame little critters. Along with Brent and Elsa, there were other tourists also enjoying the sights of watching these little squirrels playing and enjoying a tasty snack. Brent said he also noticed the squirrels munching on leaves and other greenery in between enjoying a carrot or two. The resort offers great accommodations to go along with the many activities this area has to offer winter and summer. What a cutie!

Gopher inspects hidden camera, receives tasty carrot
While visiting Manning Park Resort in British Columbia, Brent and Elsa made notice of all the gophers running around outside the front of the resort's main lodge. Brent took this opportunity to record some great footage of the curious little creatures. Being that there are many visitors to this resort in both summer and winter, the gophers have become accustomed to humans being very close to them, and some even allow you to pet them. Brent also had the chance to feed this little guy a healthy snack!

Harbour seals terrify woman tourist
While on a weekend getaway to see Elton John in concert in Victoria, British Columbia, the cameraman and his wife made a stop at Fishermans Wharf in downtown Victoria.
Victoria, capital of British Columbia, sits on the craggy southern end of Vancouver Island. With abundant parkland, it’s known for outdoor activities. The city's British colonial past shows in its Victorian architecture, including stately Craigdarroch Castle mansion. Butchart Gardens, with 55 acres of vivid floral displays, plus statuary, water features and a carousel, is one of many formal gardens in the city.
Just around the corner from Victoria's Inner Harbour, Fisherman's Wharf is a hidden treasure waiting to be discovered. This unique marine destination offers food kiosks, unique shops and eco-tour adventures in the heart of the working harbour. Wander down the docks with your lunch, buy seafood fresh off the boat, see moored pleasure vessels and float homes, and watch as fishing vessels unload their wares.
While enjoying a great fish and chips meal, Brent could hear some commotion a short distance away on the docks so he wandered over and was quite entertained by what he saw.
This young woman and her friend were visiting fishermans wharf and found out they could feed the local harbour seals and sea otters. After purchasing some herring they both proceeded to take a turn at feeding, which seemed more scary for the girl than the seal. It was a lot of fun watching this and made for some great laughs. Brent the cameraman and his wife enjoyed this as it now has been banned to feed the seals and otters in the harbour.

Dog JUMPS FOR JOY when its time for a walk
Poncho our rescue dog from Mexico loves her walks. 11 years ago while vacationing in Playa Del Carmen with my kids,11 and 15 at the time, little did i know what they would bring me to the condo the day after Christmas day. The surprise i got was both kids saying "dad guess what we found? "
Of course i never guessed a dog, well there were two actually, about 3 weeks old, cute little things. So being how i am, we went through the process to bring them home to Vancouver Canada.
Poncho has become a great pet with some silly characteristics ,all very loving. Her sister i had to give to another family as we didn't have the space at the time.
One of her happiness traits is her jumping, as you will see in the video.
When she first starts to sense you are heading to the garage for her leash, the excitement begins.
She starts snorting, dancing and jumping all over. The great part, is once the leashing begins, she sits quite still ,knowing once its on.... away we go.
A great pet Poncho is, but she sure is a puller when it comes to walk time.
Hence my right arm longer than the other ;-)

Incredibly friendly donkeys meet Elsa
While out on a walk near home, Elsa decided to make a stop at a local small farm to say hi to the three donkeys there. She labelled them the 3 Amigo. Extremely friendly ,as soon as Elsa got near the fence, they came running . Being its weed season here in Greater Vancouver, there were plenty so Elsa picked a few dandelions and offered them up to the 3 Amigo. They loved them. This little stop along the way made for a fun time visiting the neighbours.

Drinking beer causes memory loss
Brent and Elsa decided to take a little trip to one of the local craft breweries in the outskirts of Vancouver B.C . Having many choices on which to have their sample glasses filled, the ones they decided on seemed to be good choices. Elsa being not much of a beer drinker, more of a wine sipper, she left more for Brent. After their second round, on an empty stomach, the very tasty samples seemed to be getting to Brent a little, making for a funny recording.
The brewery creates everything on site, and is an award winning craft brewery proudly creating their specialties since 2007.

Adorable gopher gets a back scratch while enjoying a tasty carrot
While taking a day trip to Manning Park in British Columbia, Brent wanted to see just how tame the gophers were. Being April and still chilly in the mountains, there was a very light snow falling along with some sun. This made for a great setting amongst the great outdoor wilderness to feed and get close with these little creatures. They are so cute , fairly calm and fun to watch play amongst themselves as well.
Since the snow recently melting on the ground, they are finding more food and seem quite hungry.
Brent and Elsa had a great day with these little guys in the park.

Adorable beaver walks home after a hard day
Rodney the cameraman was on his way home after work and being he lives off the beaten path in Greater Vancouver BC, he noticed this beaver walking along the gravel road. Slowing down to take a look to make sure the little guy wasn't injured, he got some great footage of an adorable creature. Seeing that the little guy appeared to be healthy, both Rodney and the beaver continued on their way, Rodney to his house, and the beaver to his dam.

Beaver Walks home after a tough day
Rodney the cameraman got to follow this little beaver for a short distance while on his way home from work one day. Living up in the outskirts of Vancouver Canada, Rodney takes a gravel road for about 2 miles off the highway each day. This day he saw this little guy walking home which seemed a bit strange so he slowed to see if he was able to make sure the beaver was ok. Looking healthy and just somehow away from his home in a pond or lake, Rodeney let him be, and continued on his own way hoe.
Great footage, thanks for sharing Rod

Guy serenades his buddy with favourite song, and forgets the words
Richard is quite the friend. He plays the guitar and piano, self taught and loves playing to friends and family. This day he was recording his buddies favourite song to send via the internet since the buddy was out of town. Richard said he had been practicing on learning the song, but as we know, when its show time, the memory sometimes fades. All in all it went well and Richards buddy Dave appreciated the video done specially for him.

Guy sampling craft beers struggles with memory
Brent and Elsa visited one of the incredible craft breweries in the Vancouver Canada area .Dead Frog Brewery is in Aldergrove BC, and it turned into a fun experience. There were 6 options for sampling so Brent and Elsa made their choices and started to do the taste testing. It seems that with not having eaten yet this day, the samples hit Brent a little sooner than expected.
"It was a fun experience, but i wish they had food there" Brent said ." i was getting the munchies !"
Dead Frog Brewery is an award winning craft brewery that has been creating their winners since 2007.

Donkeys Frolic in the meadow after a snack
While out on an evening walk, Elsa and Brent made a stop at the small farm near their home to visit with the 3 amigo.Jose, Juan and Patron. They have passed by this field numerous times without making a visit. " These guys were hilarious "Brent said because when their dog Poncho got a bit excited and whining from seeing the donkeys, they all got a bit spooked and started bucking and running . Elsa thought it was quite fun feeding them dandelions and watching their funny facial expressions. Definitely a stop by to visit their new friends will come again soon......minus Poncho.

Man climbs ancient pyramid for the first time
Coba Ruins is in Quintana Roo Mexico, in the area of Cancun. The pyramid is roughly 150 in height and very steep construction. This is the reason there is a large rope for those that are not as sure footed and require assistance while ascending and descending.
Brent the cameraman and his family were vacationing in the area and made the trip out to the jungle to see the amazing ruins of Coba.
Brent was the only one of their group to partake in the climb, but with this great footage, they were all able to get some sort of what the experience was like.
Brent said" it was amazing looking out over the jungle towards Lake Coba, and seeing other small ruins. "
It was a great trip and thanks for sharing the experience.

Diver finds a wolf eel posing for photos
Cameraman Stuart is an avid cold water scuba diver from British Columbia Canada. Always packing along his camera, he records come incredible life within the 42'f waters around Vancouver B.C Howe Sound. On this boat dive with Sea Dragon Charters, Stuart got some great still photos of his buddies, as well as the life on the rock faces and floor during his dive. Some beautiful anemones, sponge housing eggs, and the video footage of the ever grumpy looking, but ever so docile Wolf eel. Wolf Eels, despite their name, are not actually eels, they are fish. At times Wolf eels are know to come out of their dens and divers have been able to pet them ,much like a puppy dog. Some grow to over 6 feet long.
Great footage and stills Stuart, thank you for sharing.
