Buffaloes in Yellowstone cause traffic jam
While on a motorcycle trip through Yellowstone Park in Wyoming, Elsa - whom was videoing the local buffalo - was definitely not comfortable being out in the open on the Harley. There were calves in the midst of the mature males, making it that much more intense as to not startle them and cause a stampede into the traffic. Although no major issue when inside a vehicle, being on a motorcycle with no protection against an upset buffalo is a bit unnerving. As you can hear, once the mature male moved off the roadway, Elsa was definitely more at ease. What an experience!

Unforgettable sights just below the surface on Grand Cayman
While vacationing on Grand Cayman Island, the cameraman caught the footage of these two gorgeous creatures just below the surface at Rum Point. The spotted trunkfish which is between 6 and 12 inches long,is a shy but curious little guy that swims very slowly. Being a slow swimmer, the Trunkfish are protected from predators by a bony outer surface that acts as body armor and includes two sharp spines guarding their rear fins.
The southern stingray grows between 2 feet across for males, and 5 feet across for females. These guys are bottom feeders and spray water from their mouths located on the bottom surface of their bodies, to disrupt the sandy ocean floor and scare out their dinner.
Both were an incredible find i such shallow waters .

Massive scuba diver found ashore
While visiting the town of Sidney B.C on Vancouver Island, the cameraman Brent and his wife toured off the beaten path to check out the waterfront. Vancouver Island is world renowned for incredible scuba diving as the waters are incredibly clear, with an abundance of sea life. Sidney itself has some great art work in Beacon Park so Brent figured taking a bit of footage could be a fun short video. Hope you enjoyed the mini tour of Sidney harbor.

Mysterious formation in Canadian Lake
Pavilion Lake B.C is a beautiful lake in the Interior of British Columbia which is where these scuba diver friends went for a weekend getaway to see and experience everything they had heard about some " amazing formations that NASA has done research on" .
Roughly 4-1/2 drive from Vancouver ,north east, this lake is a beautiful camping and water activity location, along with a great scuba diving opportunity. In 2005 this research program received support from the Canadian Space Agency,The project also successfully acquired a National Geographic Research and Exploration Grant in 2005, and NASA continues to provide logistics, and education and public outreach .
Fossil microbialites represent some of the earliest remnants of life on ancient Earth, and were common from ~2.5 billion to 540 million years ago.
Research continues in Pavillion Lake and one other nearby lake.

Deadly Stingray - more like a beautiful animal
Recently when vacationing on Grand Cayman Island,Elsa was swimming in the shallows at Rum Point and came across this beautiful creature for her first experience with stingrays.
Elsa experiences first hand how graceful and gentle these stingrays are when they approach and seem to ignore her presence in their territory. Beautiful creatures of our oceans which like most animals are harmless when left alone.
Elsa described seeing the stingray as" amazing how smooth they seem to fly through the water".
This is a trip she said she will never forget and wants to return as soon as possible.
The barb on the stingrays tail generally lays flat against its tail unless scared or attacked .

Adorable squirrel shares crumbs from a little boy at the park
While visiting the Capilano Suspension Bridge in North Vancouver Canada this little visitor got the chance to get up close and personal with the little creature.
The squirrel was curiously wandering around the Dr. Woods Cabin snack shack seeing what he could find when the cameraman took a great opportunity to capture this footage.
A very nice location to visit if in the area as a tourist or local getting out and about. The bridge was originally constructed in 1889 by a Scottish engineer by the name of George Grant Mackay and has been improved upon since then. The bridge is suspended 230 feet above the Capilano River and stretches 450 feet across.
Brent the cameraman and Elsa took the afternoon as a break to get into their local wild.

Amazing boiling puddles
While visiting Yellowstone National Park in Wyoming USA, Brent the cameraman got to see first hand the geothermal activity within the park .
These boiling puddles get their 199 degree fahrenheit waters from deep within the earth from a caldera which is a large cauldron-like depression that forms following the evacuation of a magma chamber/reservoir when a volcano has erupted.
The various geyser basins Yellowstone Park are located where rainwater and snowmelt can filter slowly into the ground, get indirectly superheated by the underlying Yellowstone hotspot, and then erupt at the surface as geysers, hot springs, and these type of boiling puddles.
There are many of these throughout the park which you can park along the roadways to watch, and some of the large geysers erupt on a schedule you can almost set your watch to.
An amazing natural occurance to see .

Mysterious ocean tunnel leads to 4 mile deep drop off
High Rock Drop Off is located on the East end of Grand Cayman Island in High Rock dive zone. These divers from Canada experienced some incredible diving while on Grand Cayman and mostly were amazed and surprised by the number of tunnels and channels that lead out to the "deep blue'. Most of these tunnels are narrow and with limited light from above, require dive lights to make your way through. Feeling a bit uneasy at seeing no bottom once they exited the tunnel, they soon got use to the new experience. A great dive location and many new lessons learned.

Unbelievable Harley ride through a giant Redwood tree
The cameraman ,actually the rider of the 2009 Harley Davidson Ultra Classic, which the camera was mounted on, took a tour within the Avenue of the Giants, California.
This is where they experienced riding through the Giant Redwood.
Redwoods are the biggest trees in the world: the giant redwoods of Northern California.
Unlike your own local oaks, these wizened monsters -- many living when Columbus found the New World -- are big enough to drive through. That is, if a car-sized hole has been bored in the center of them first.
As short an experience this was, it was a highlight of the adventure through the Redwood forest and area . A much enjoyed trip with memories to last a life time.

Dad vs Unicycle
Brent, the unicyclist, dusted off his unicycle that he had sitting around for years, and took a lunch break to "repractice " a skill he earned when he was 15, but had not ridden this one wheeled bike in 30 years. Not bad for 5 minutes of practice.
This also shows ,as seen from a bit of determination and passion, anything can be accomplished .
Never give up.

Scuba diver comes across extremely massive clam
While scuba diving on the Great Barrier Reef out of Cairns, Australia, this diver comes across a GIANT clam. This monster is approximately 2 feet wide from hinge point to hinge point. He definitely wasn't about to test the theory of them grabbing your finger, so he observes from a close distance and records this very cool footage for you to enjoy.

Stealthy Reef shark investigates night divers
While scuba diving off Cairns Australia with Deep Sea Divers Den aboard their vessel Ocean Quest, the cameraman had the opportunity to do his very first night dive in tropical waters. Earlier before the dive, the crew had been demonstrating the species of fish that are around at night, by throwing specific fish food into the waters ,not human food.
This attracted many species, one being SHARKS. The purpose was to show the divers what is around, and the crew eased the divers by ,that "once you enter the water, they will disappear".
Well ,did the divers believe this? the truth was to be proven as to how sharks actually do react with divers entering "their" habitat.
This is a quote directly from one of the local dive companies on the Great Barrier Reef.
"This is the most common shark spotted by our guests, whether they are snorkeling or scuba diving. The white tip reef shark is a relatively small shark. The average size only measuring about 1.8 metres or 6 feet long. This is one of the best parts of our jobs, seeing people who less then 30 minutes ago were scared about sharing the water with a shark. Now they are seeing them up close and experiencing sharks in their natural habit. Immediately realizing that all the television and movie myths are just that myths. One of our guests last year went from being a nervous snorkeller to scuba diving, and her reason I want to ‘dive with the sharks’.
That nervous diver, was how the cameraman said he was, and now enjoys, and always hopes, in spotting a shark on any warm water dive.

Giant anemone the playground for clownfish on the Great Barrier Reef Australia
While scuba diving on the Great Barrier Reef out of Cairns Australia, the divers got to see for their first time a sea anemone of this size. Watching the clownfish, which are known to be the only fish that are not susceptible to being paralyzed by the anemones poisons, they got to see them frolic amongst the tentacles as if to smug their noses at the other fish near by with their "magic powers" A true enjoyment to watch up close. A gorgeous area to scuba dive .

How to fly a giant inflatable wine bottle
The Vancouver Giants of the Western Hockey League have an interesting sponsor - Pellar Estates Winery in the Okanagan of British Columbia. Their sponsorship with the Giants includes this giant, radio controlled, wine bottle blimp. During the intermissions of the game, Brent the pilot and his assistant load the blimp with prizes and drop them randomly to excited fans. Brent and Don are responsible for the complete operation of the blimp, from game time filling and flying, to also maintaining the equipment during the season and post season. As simple as this looks, at times it can be quite challenging with building currents, aggressive fans trying to grab the blimp, and of course, everyone that walks by its docking station wants a picture with the blimp!

Liquid Nitrogen for shrinkage in machining
This machinist uses liquid nitrogen quite frequently in his procedure for installing a stock steel sleeve when repairing an end housing from an electric motor.
When a bearing area on one of these housings becomes worn out, the two choices are 1) to purchase a new housing, which may not be available or may be quite expensive or 2) to repair it in the procedure this skilled tradesman is demonstrating.
From start to finish the complete machining procedure takes him approximately 2.5 hours.
Much quicker and more cost effective than the alternative.

"Drowning" seal is an unbelievable actor
While visiting Fisherman's Wharf in Victoria BC, Brent the cameraman witnessed the incredibly innovative way that this one particular seal gets its food. While other fellow seals swim around looking cute, some spinning to try and grab the attention of the woman with the herring, this brilliant harbor seal learns to "fake drowning" as we see it. This did get him some great attention and laughs and also his share of the catch!

Injured moray eel seems to hide from the camera man
While diving San Rafaelito site near La Paz Mexico, the camera man noticed this seemingly injured moray keeping tucked under a rock. After waiting a couple minutes for the eel to get use to the divers' presence, it repositioned and a great shot of the damage done to the eels jaw could be seen. Most likely obtaining this injury during a fight for territory, the eel appears to be doing just fine as he was approximately 5-6 feet long and looking healthy. This site just minutes out of the marina at Club Cantomar is gorgeous with tons of life, a must do if diving or snorkelling this area.

Adorable wild sea lions are nothing but sea puppies
These sea lions in La Paz Mexico surrounded , danced and played with this group of divers recently. The sea lions are a very graceful and playful creature that divers love to engage with. Divers and snorkelers come from all over the world to experience this at Isla Espiritu Santo .This gorgeous site is approximately an hour and a half offshore, by boat, from La Paz Mexico on the Baja Peninsula. If in the area, take in a trip out to Isla Espiritu Santo, you will not regret it and will have stories to tell for a life time. Enjoy my video in its natural form. Take pictures and leave nothing but bubbles.
