Blindspot 83, aired in the week following the October 7 Hamas attack on Israel. In the heading we placed - >>Gaza<< Welcome to World War All against All - a Syrian perspective. Not long after that, #84 was entitled - Israel to bomb al Aqsa to build 3rd temple of Solomon - a Dugin Prophesy - wherein, among other things we looked into a sombre prophesy of an all-out regional war by the Russian thinker and writer - Aleksandr Dugin. Lets be reminded of what Leo Zagami reported on this prophesy by Dugin as we covered in BS84. In it we predicted that while Israel is bound to launch an Old Testament-inspired apocalyptic response on the heads of unsuspecting Palestinian occupants of Gaza, it will be necessary to watch the regional fall-out carefully. The latter of course in the context of concurrent global, and regional power shifts. Since then we have not only seen the Houthi’s strike out with major global impact. Syria, Iraq, and Lebanon, are also proxy war sites where attacks either target US military installations, or Israeli air strikes target Syria. While Iranian Revolutionary Guard deployments, infrastructure, and allies, are also targeted by a mix of Israeli- and US strikes in especially Iraq and Syria. If the above kinetic war developments in West Asia aka the Middle East is not disconcerting enough, in recent weeks, a number of West European countries, and NATO, either warned their citizens that they have to prepare for an inevitable war with Russia, or, announced such an inevitability together with plans for military build-ups, preparations, conscription, and force positioning. While this war might not break out tomorrow, it is usually pitched within the time horizon of the next three to ten years. Is it then not appropriate to repeat the headline - Welcome to World War All Against All? Seeing that it is a rather vast enterprise to cover all the maddeningly interconnected battlefronts (physical, digital, unmanned/drone, biological, cultural, techno-scientific, to name but a few) of this manifesting war of all against all, we choose to zoom into just a few examples of battlefronts in the here and now, that show, again, we do not have to wait for the referee to blow the starting whistle/trumpet to signal - Okay boys, get set, ready, and off to World War 3, BANG, GO! No, the best we can do now is to track some of its morbid manifestations.

We kick off on this theme because today we are delving into some blindspots that hide in plain sight. At this stage the world needs more tension and confrontation, friction and fragmentation (frigmentation), as much as Blindspot needs a bullet in the head, or a bunker busting bomb to hit its facilities. Nevertheless, whether you look East, West, North, South, or to the stars, it seems as if at least one of the four horses of the apocalypse is having a grand time sewing seeds of destruction wherever it goes. In the past month news broke of a Russian strike in Ukraine that killed several French, well, what shall one call them? Mercenaries? Following a strike on a building in Kharkiv, 17 January, Russia indicated it had eliminated up to 60 French mercenaries supporting Kiev’s war on Russia. This happened not long before the revelation of senior German officers discussing how to covertly infiltrate, and bomb, among other things, the Russian bridge to Crimea. To make things even more confrontational, the New York Times recently revealed that, indeed, there are CIA bases in Ukraine that lend a helping hand to Ukraine’s NATO war on Russia. Let us look at these stories to shine some light on the extent to which Russia and NATO have been in direct confrontation in Ukraine, as far back as 2014.

Over-used, and under-defined, it is necessary, for a moment to pause at the edge, where this word marks the beginning of an abyss. Terror traces a line in mind sands where meaning shifts, political alignments are set adrift, and meaning is either over-coded, or, completely lost in a sea of foaming non-sense. In this Blindspot we are engaging with more than just recent ‘news events’. We ask what is terror, and what is its relationship to information, in the age of the dictatorship of the digitosphere as Buiteboer explored in Searching for Madness in the Method. In this era of asymmetric warfare, turbulence in global politics, and re-alignment of the global system itself with the appearance of a multipolar world order, it is necessary to pause at the edge, and take stock of the sources of terror afflicting the human condition. The transparency of evil, in this era, is evident in the daily dose of bad news dished up by IDF as it continues its campaign of genocidal state terror. In Moscow, recently, we saw the horrendous head of terror peak out from behind its curtain of secrecy to mow more than one hundred concert goers down.

This means Blindspot extends the virus theme beyond that of COVID, into the domains of markets infected by a money printing virus portending volatility at a scale that will make 2008’s global financial crisis look like a fender bender on the sidelines of a catastrophic highway pile-up crash. Blindspot takes a look at a local governance- and potentially political disaster in the making. While the above deals with a micro-political disaster of human making, the another major blindspot covered pertains to a historical drought and dwindling water resources that is leaving nearly 12 million citizens of Syria and Iraq with no access to water. Considering that Iraq has been as site of unilateral target practice by US military coalitions since Gulf War I, while neighbouring Syria has seen a similar fate since the so-called Arab Spring. In this case blindspot deals with a mixed-method disaster that encompasses both good old home made natural factors, combined with the outcomes of human warmongering and general folly. A CNN report captures all the themes we are tackling today where it indicates Biden signed into law, a bill, for military assistance to Ukraine, Israel, and the Indo-pacific, which also coincidentally includes the clauses that may eventually lead to the banning of TikTok in the USA. But then we also look at how the billions to Ukraine mostly flow back to the military-industrial complex in the USSA. While in Russia, on 1 May, a special exhibit of captured NATO/US/UK/etc armour like tanks and APCs etc etc will open to mark Victory Day, so now we know US money is going to fund blown out showpieces in Moscow. Oops Cognitive war The story of cognitive war got inspired by the recent US decision, as reported in the NYT, to force Bytedance, the Chinese owner of TikTok to wholly sell its US stake, or, to face a ban in the USA. Roughly speaking TikTok/Bytedance have about 9 months to sell its stake in the US operation, or, face a ban. We cover Sri Lanka’s political crisis as canary in the coal mine of what is yet to hit weak, fragile, and failing states, on all continents, as wildfire inflation, and food shortages, lead to violent uprisings. This is why we once again argue for South Africa to maintain, as far as possible, a neutral stance on what has clearly become much more than a simple Russia-Ukraine war, but, an economic war (launched by Western nations) that is apparently hitting nations far beyond Russian borders the hardest. Lastly we look at Iran’s growing regional influence, this time in the form of an announcement made during May, in Tajikistan, of Iran establishing a drone manufacturing facility in the country. We see the latter as more signs of Iran’s rising in the region since becoming full member of the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation. This investment also sheds light on the growing importance of unmanned weapons systems, for the future of national security, warfare, and strategy.

Blindspot #034 - Musk’s Starlink helps Ukraine war escalate in space Buiteboer // From Bunker 42 www.buiteboer.co.za 28/4/22 I We cover the militarisation of space, how Musk, Twitter’s liberator hero, is not necessarily a hero for Russian forces due to the Space X Starlink system being put to work for Ukrainian forces. We also look at how Russia illustrated, in 2021, how it can destroy a satellite in space, warning that, like the Chinese, and Americans, Russia has the technology to strike at targets in space from solid ground on planet earth (if need be). Blindspot looks at how Turkish drones, and numbers of destroyed Ukrainian military assets (including significant amounts of drones), and we wrap up with an economic war story, on how Israel announced recently that it will add the Chinese Yuan to its portfolio of reserve currencies. The latter ties in with the theme of Eurasia versus the West, and the bifurcation, or, tearing in two, of the global system. II From the perspective of a hot proxy war on the ground in Ukraine it is easy not to pay attention to the role of ‘space’ in this conflict. Former President Donald Trump officially launched the US Space Force, which was at the time interpreted as a direct act of militarisation of space. With Elon Musk deploying Space X’s Starlink internet constellation to provide ‘services’ to the Ukraine means that ‘the final frontier,’ space, as per Star Trek, has just become the final ‘wild west world war III’ frontier.
