Then by January 2023, well, the announcement was made that indeed, tanks will be sent to Ukraine. Was that a ‘soft’ longer terms declaration of war? NATO donated tanks stuck in Ukraine mud, or mangled by $500 Russian drones. Asia Times reports on how the $10m Abrahams tanks are no match for $500 Russian drones. “Since February 28, the Russians have destroyed three Abrams tanks. The most recent was knocked out on March 4 by an anti-tank missile, probably a Russian Kornet.The first two Abramses were hit by low-cost Russian drones carrying RPG-7 warheads.” By now the number stands at four Asia Times continues: “The Russians say that the Ghoul droneuses a special transmission frequencyand is difficult, if not impossible, to jam.The drone costs around $500, according to its Russian maker in theSverdlovsk region. It is made from plastic and some of its parts are 3-D printed.The cost of an Abrams tank is north of $10 million.” The low-cost drones go under the name Ghoul. They are quadcopters that are battery powered.The Ghoul is a first-person-view (FPV) drone.

And it did not disappoint. With a homeless parliament, for now still squatting in the City of Cape Town Chambers, and a president thuma mina’ing his way towards impeachment, South Africa limps and lunges forward from crisis to crisis. Terror, terrorism, to terrorise, and perpetrate an act of terror are appropriate words to launch into blindspot’s take on the year that was. This year that will soon run out of calendar space will in history be remembered as the period of time wherein the world system was torn in two. But why terror? Zerohedge warns that the mother of all bubbles, the everything bubble, is about to burst. Blindspot presents a slightly different reason why it is better for South Africa to remain more or less neutral as Eurasia and the West locks horns. As covered in previous Blindspots, a series of developments, including the rise of Iran through becoming a member of the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation, the fall of NATO in Afghanistan, and the immense Chinese pressure on Taiwan as likely flashpoint of geopolitical conflict, are now given further geopolitical ‘meaning’ due to the Russian Federation severing diplomatic ties with NATO. This Russian action is in response to NATO expelling eight Russian diplomats, apparently for ‘espionage,' at its Brussels headquarters. Russian Foreign Minister, Sergey Lavrov, also announced that a NATO information bureau, located in Moscow, will be forced to shut down as part of retaliatory measures. Blindspot shows how the real post- Cold War geopolitical Blindspot has been the aggressive expansion of NATO into post-Soviet Eastern European ‘turf’ - all the while encroaching on the Russian Federation’s borders. This further breakdown in relations between the Russian Federation, and a braindead NATO (as it was called by the French president), signals more geo-strategic turbulence ahead. The second big story of the week is an ominous speech by an Australian politician, Tim Quilty, in the parliament of Victoria, protesting the Vax mandates imposed by the state’s Premier - Daniel Andrews. In an ironic twist of fate, Apartheid is now a buzz-word in Australian politics, because even elected parliamentarians are set to be barred from accessing the ‘house of parliament,’ if they are not vaccinated. MailOnline.co.uk reports on the above that: “The motion passed the lower house on Thursday morning with the support of all but one MP, Liberal Neil Angus, who argued the requirement to show proof of the jab was 'undemocratic' and 'medical apartheid’.” The Premier of Victoria apparently took great offence at the word ‘Apartheid’ used to describe the consequence of draconian Praetorian vaccine mandates. This now means that any ‘citizen’ of Victoria, who have not had a needle stuck into them, will not be able to work, walk the dog, welcome friends in their home, go to school or church, and now - they won’t have a political representative, if such a person’s elected representative, is not vaccinated. Blindspot 75 - West Africa kicking France out: Niger Mali & Burkina Faso Anti-French Coups 13-8-23 www.buiteboer.co.za This Blindspot goes beyond some of the headlines of the July 2023 coup in Niger. It traces dynamics in the Sahel back to the assassination of Muamar Gaddafi, by NATO. As ECOWAS assembles a force, potentially to be deployed in Niger, protesters in Mali, Niger, and Burkina Faso storm French embassies, and demand withdrawal of French forces from their countries.
