Thanks for watching! I love Publix, especially growing up in Florida I have always grown up surrounded by a Publix. Their seafood selection is really great and the Publix employees are very helpful if you ever need help. They will tell you which fish (like the mahi) are in season and most fresh. Don't be afraid to ask their butchers for any special cuts of meats! They will hook it up.
I am surprised how good the publix store bought mahi compared to the fresh caught mahi that we had. Both had been frozen but the fresh caught mahi wasn't frozen for more than a couple days. I still could tell a little difference and thought the fresh mahi tasted a little bit better but at the end of the day both fillets of fish were great.

This fishing episode has a lot of fun things happen such as a mahi breaks rod and loosing my gaff (but don't worry it's a happy ending). This was a great day of fishing in the florida keys, I've been waiting on a good day of fishing to catch lots of mahi offshore like this for a while!
We start fishing in around 230ft and catch some bait, we start to slow troll the bait we caught and before you know it WHAM the first mahi is hooked. The trolling day just started and I can already see the catch and cook episode in the making!
This is a great fishing video on how to catch mahi you will see some of my mahi 101 tricks and tips. This was out of Key Largo but will pretty much be the same offshore trolling methods I would use to catch mahi anywhere else.
Dan from Florida Fishing Couple somehow manages to break one of his penn rods. opps! Trolling in the florida keys can get pretty exciting. And HOT, so we jump in around 1000 ft of water for a swim to cool off. Good thing none of use became shark bait today here in the Florida Keys!
I hope you enjoyed this episode on the South Florida Fishing Channel and please leave a like and comment to show your support. Thank you!

This is the first time fishing for my new york friends. They have never caught a fish before so I thought this is going to be an interesting trip. The first thing my friend does is buy bananas for the boat so I already know things are about to get a little wild. But don't worry as you can ready from this fishy fishing title this fishing episode IS a catch n cook so you won't be disappointed. It's actually not just a catch and cook, but more of a catch and cook AND party!
That's right, and a party. After we go offshore trolling by the islamorada humps from key largo we head back up to miami to party and things get a little wild at club LIV. But before that let's talk about this florida fishing experience my russian friends got to take part in.
We ride out of key largo and start heading offshore. Little did my new york friends know that this would be their first fish and that their first fish would be a mahi mahi. The first fish we catch offshore trolling at the islamorada humps is a blue runner. My friends were sad when I made them throw back the first fish of the day.
It's not long until we hook into a mahi and then it's game on! Welcome to Florida boys! Then we hook into a second mahi mahi and this fishing episode official has become a catch n cook.
We get back to my apartment in key largo, catch and cook the mahi and then make our way to miami to party. It's always super exhausting going from offshore fishing to partying but I wasn't going to say no.
We have a great time at club LIV in miami and then we part our ways. My friends fly back to new york and I stay in Florida and drive back down to key largo. I hope you enjoyed the video, please leave a like and subscribe!

Chris and I leave from Vero Beach, Florida and make our way west to the Florida Gulf Coast. Why? Because the Bay scallops are on the gulf side of Florida. Once we reach Clearwater, Florida we load the boat into the water and drive about 1-2 hours north along the Florida coast.
When we get to the scallop grounds a jump in and start to look for them freediving. I have never tried to catch scallops before so I had no idea what I was looking for but then I catch my first scallop! I'm already watering at the mouth thinking about this catch and cook.
These Florida bay scallops are much smaller than the scallops i'm used to ordering at a restaurant. These florida scallops are small like those mini marshmallows but I tell you what, in this catch n cook you'll see how tasty they are. Who would have know?!
This is actually my first time catching seafood in the gulf coast so it was all very exciting for me. In the catch and cook part of this episode I make homemade Alfredo sauce with the bay scallops and it was honestly 5 stars. One of the best catch n cooks I've had hands down here on the south florida fishing channel.
Big thanks to the SeaFear crew for taking me and my friends out in the Florida Gulf to catch some Bay Scallops. It was a catch clean and cook that I will never forget! And now I know how to catch scallops! And I know how to clean scallops. Winning!

I get to Dans house super early around 5am and there is a full moon. We have some coffee and then run through Adams Cut here in Key Largo and make our way offshore.
We plan to high speed troll for Wahoo until about 9am and at that point we will move over to trolling feathers and ballyhoo. When high speed trolling we were doing about 14-17knots and when trolling the feathers and ballyhoo we were doing about 4-6knots.
Not much luck with high speed trolling but then we start to hook into a ton of mahi. All of them were peanuts but man they were everywhere! We must have caught 15-20 small mahi.
After trolling for several hours we do some vertical jigging and both Dan and I hookup. Dan managed to land a nice Yellow Jack and I was already excited for the catch and cook because I already know I love yellow jack. Oh yea!
If you have never did a catch n cook with a yellow jack I highly recommend keeping the next yellow jack you catch and throw it on the grill. Yellow Jack also is great in fish tip.
Thank you for tuning into this high speed trolling episode and I hope you enjoyed the yellow jack catch n cook even thou I messed up the recipe a bit, but I'll get it next time. Cheers everyone!

We leave my marina in Key Largo and head out of Tavernier Creek and make out way towards the Islamorada humps. On the way to the Islamorada humps we find some good looking weed lines and decide to troll them.
The first thing we catch is a Blackfin tuna. Yummy, i love tuna. We start catching a whole bunch of blackfin tuna and Mahi. Many of the mahi are small peanuts but we do find some bigger ones.
We also hook into a Skipjack tuna which I thought was a wahoo at first the way it shot out of the water. It was a crazy sight! Those skipjack tuna are some powerful tuna!
We finally get to the islamorada humps and catch some more fish. We also try some bottom fishing but then call it a fishing day. Back at the Key Largo home I fillet the blackfin tuna, skipjack tuna and mahi in preparation for this catch and cook.
Time to taste test. Chris and I try both the skipjack tuna and the blackfin tuna blindfolded. The skipjack tuna was actually very good tasting and even better when it was seared!
I highly recommend trying the skipjack tuna if you ever catch one. It was actually hard to tell the difference between the 2 tuna. Hope you enjoyed this catch and cook video!

In this video:
I run out of key largo to tavernier creek marina where Craig and I fuel up. Then we run offshore a bit out the reefs edge. I start spearfishing and jump in the water. After having some issues with the gopro and not seeing much besides a small black grouper we decide to move fishing spots.
The next spot has more baitfish and I start to spearfish again. While I am spearfishing Craig is catching some ballyhoo which will be great for mutton snapper fishing. I saw a nice mutton snapper while I was spearfishing but I wasn't able to get it. I saw a bunch more short black grouper and short mutton snapper.
After some time we decide it's time to go offshore fishing. Drifting the bottom for mutton snapper between 70-150ft of water. I caught a shark and another small mutton snapper.
I don't like ending my fishing videos without a catch n cook so that night I go to the dock with my friend chris and scoop some blue crabs with a net. I love blue crabs so much, it's one of my top 5 favorite things to eat. We caught about 15+ blue crabs. I call Dan and tell him about my blue crabs and he tells me about his awesome blue crab spaghetti recipe. Oh man, this is going to be a good crab catch and cook!
I get to Dan and Elizabeths house with my blue crabs and that's where the magic starts. First the blue crabs are cleaned and then put into a tomatoe sauce where they are simmered until cooked. There was so many blue crabs that we had to boil the ones that didn't fit in the spaghetti sauce.
I get home with my blue crab spaghetti leftovers and couldn't be happier with this catch n cook. I had a great time with Craig, Chris, Dan and Elizabeth and can't wait to have more catch and cook fun with all my friends!

In this video:
We head out of Summerland Key in the Florida keys and run offshore to go deep dropping. We were planning on deep dropping for swordfish but on our way out picked up some squid and decided to deep drop for some grouper or tilefish first instead.
On our way to go offshore fishing we spot a mahi and pitch it a live pilchard. It quickly swallows the bait and it's game on! One mahi in the boat! Maybe I can turn this mahi belly into a swordfish bait? But instead we decide to use it for deep drop bait on the chicken rig for a tilefish or grouper.
We stop on some new grounds on our way offshore fishing and start deep dropping. We loose a couple rigs but we also catch some rose fish. We will eat these for dinner in this catch n cook. The mahi will also be part of the catch and cook!
Did I also mention that Lee is now a Captain and running Fish and Spear Charters. You should def. check him out and book one of his fishing charters out of summerland key. It's one of the cheapest charters you will find in the keys. Maybe in all of Florida!
After some time we decide to run to the swordfish grounds. We run further offshore and use the tanacom 1000 to deep drop for the swordfish. We are finally swordfishing! Deep dropping in the florida keys doesn't get better than this!
Hours go by and we head in back to summerland key in the dark. It was another great day in the keys. We didn't catch the swordfish we were targeting BUT the mahi and rosies were still an awesome catch and cook!

I drive down to Marathon from Key Largo early in the morning and meet up with the SeaFear squad. We take out a 31' Prowler and boy does that boat have some power. We load up on pinfish on our way offshore to the marathon humps.
It's not long before we get to the marathon humps and start vertical jigging. And boom, first drop we are hooked up. The black fin tuna are sitting deep. We hook into bonito and black fin tuna. The Marathon humps were surprisingly rough right on top of the hump. Two Conchs was out there also.
We do several drops and load the boat with black fin tuna and bonito vertical jigging. We try trolling for some mahi without much luck. But then we find some patchy seagrass holding some mahi mahi. They were so stubborn! We were only able to put one mahi into the boat.
We decide to do some bottom fishing on the way in. It must have been the big grouper we saw on the Two Conchs that gave us some motivation. We anchor up between 40-60ft and put out the chum. It's not long before the yellowtail snapper show up. Man do I love snapper!
One of our yellowtail snappers was swallowed and spit back out by what we thought was probably a grouper. Sure enough we hook into a big black grouper on the light yellowtail snapper hook! I can't believe we were able to get that grouper into the boat!
We get back to the docks and clean the grouper, mahi and yellowtail snapper. I saw an electric knife being used for the first time and I gotta tell you i'm in love! I'll be ordering one soon! I drive to Lee's house where he cooks up the black fin tuna I brought. He grilled some of the tuna and we ate some raw as sashimi. It tasted great!
Big thanks again to everyone who came out on the boat fishing and for inviting me on this marathon humps fishing trip. I had a blast and can't wait to get back out again.

We know the weather won't be perfect but we run offshore from Key Largo with the plans of fishing the islamorada humps. About halfway to the humps we begin to troll. I put out some scented trolling chuggers, starting with a white and blue one.
It doesn't take but a few minutes before the scented trolling lures get hit by a mahi. Boom the first mahi mahi is legal size and on the boat, that is how trolling should always be! We start fishing again in the same area hoping to catch another mahi. This is already looking like a catch n cook episode!
We get closer to the islamorada humps and the waves really begin to pick up. Gotta love that florida weather. About an hour passes without anymore fish but then boom! Another mahi mahi on the blue and white offshore scented lure.
I'm really starting to like using scented trolling lures. Who would have thought! I gotta thank MyAnchorUp for introducing these to me. At this point the waves are kicking are butt and i'm tired of Florida pounding me around so I decide it's time to bottom fish for mutton snapper!
We begin to bottom fish off the reefs edge in about 130ft of water. The current brings us back to the reefs edge so our bottom fishing drifts start in 130 ft and end in 60 ft. I can mark snapper on my depth finder and already excited.
Boom! Mutton Snapper on! This is some great key largo bottom fishing for mutton snapper. This snapper will turn into some fish burritos later during the catch and cook. We keep drifting for mutton snapper another hour before calling it a day.

My friends arrive to key largo, Florida early morning and it was super windy. We take the boat out fishing anyways even thou the wind is blowing around 25-28 knots. We run into the wind protected bayside of key largo and fish along various mangroves for snapper.
It took us moving to a few different spots until we finally found the snapper. Fishing in the mangroves was fun, haven't done that in a while. Usually I am on the patch reef fishing. We put a good amount of mangrove snapper into the cooler and will catch clean cook them at the dock later. While we fillet fish some tarpon showed up at the dock but they weren't interested in the topwater lures we brought with us to fillet the fish.
The next day we run offshore through tavernier creek, due to the weather we don't go off the reef edge very far since the waves were beating us up. We catch some red grouper, yellowtail snapper, ballyhoo and some other fish. We caught the ballyhoo using the ballyhoop net. Love that net, the ballyhoopnet works great.
The next day we focus on spearfishing. We cruise to the reefs edge in 40-60ft of water and find some nurse sharks. I also shoot a barracuda which I use for chum and get more nurse sharks around the boat. I love swimming with the sharks.
I spearfish a mangrove snapper and clean it in the water. Scale the fish and gut it. I will eat this fish later in this catch and cook. It will be fried fish with a new seasoning a subscriber sent me.

Dan from youtube channel 'Florida Fishing Couple' joins us on this fishing trip at the Islamorada humps. Also Chris tags along with big dreams of catching mahi and tuna. Blackfin tuna to be specific, not bonito!
I have tuna tacos on my mind for this catch and cook. We run offshore to the islamorada humps and begin to troll a variety of lures as you will see in the video. The tuna really loved the feathers we were trolling. We also caught some tuna on some little dive plugs from YoZuri and Rapala.
While trolling we find a bird offshore. The find bird offshore lands on my head and the bird goes fishing with us. We even feed the offshore bird water! Ok bird help us find the mahi mahi and show us how to catch fish!
I think this offshore bird might be a new south florida fishing channel subscriber. We started this trip in Key Largo btw, ran out of tavernier creek, after getting gas at the tavernier creek marina. Then we start fishing the islamorada humps.
It's not long before we start catching bonito, and then soon after we catch black fin tuna. My parents had a blast and so did I. It was a great birthday party fishing trip. The next day we clean our blackfin tuna. Dan took home the mahi mahi since I already had some mahi mahi waiting in the fridge for me.
We go to nest key, the sandbar the next day and have some fun in the sun. Do some wakeskating and then my parents leave back home. I make some blackfin tuna tacos and they tasted great! Tuna is always great for catch n cook videos. I love how you can catch and cook it raw or cooked.

Rough seas this weekend trying to swordfish
My mutton snapper I caught with some subscribers last week and then some clips of rough seas this weekend when we were trying to catch a swordfish yesterday.
Originally I was only going to upload this rough seas, mutton snapper in key largo and trying to catch a swordfish video to my Instagram account @heikowinkler but decided I would put it on youtube also so I can update everyone and let them know how things are going!
I'm going to be uploading a longer fishing video still from my birthday of me trolling for mahi and tuna with my parents. I did not end up making a video of me catching the mutton snapper. I need some new video equipment.
My gopro got way too wet and now it's starting to do weird things. Which made it really hard to get spearfishing footage so I ended up not being able to film enough content to turn that trip and this swordfishing trip into a long length episode.
I'll be back in action making long videos in no time, but enjoy this little teaser of us trying to catch a swordfish and then having the weather turn bad real fast on us.
We were running in a 21ft Contender boat and the waves picked up to an easy 5ft+ and with 4 guys on the boat it was a pretty interesting ride in rough seas to say the least.
Too bad our swordfishing trip was cut short, but it was still a great experience!

Mahi is one of my favorite fish to catch n cook. I also love to catch and cook tuna. In this case, black fin tuna. So i'm super excited we finally got lucky offshore trolling key largo. It's about time. But let's rewind!
First, we anchor in 35ft of water on the key largo patch reefs. We put a chum bag out and the ballyhoo show up instantly. We use theballyhoop net and quickly fill the livewell with ballyhoo. We will troll these ballyhoo to catch mahi and tuna.
The funny thing is all the mah and tuna we catch were caught on feathers and dive plugs. None were actually caught on the juicy ballyhoo baits we were trolling offshore.
We put a mahi mahi in the boat along with handful of black fin tuna. These are going to be perfect for the mahi tacho catch n cook
I am planning. I also decide to catch and cook the tuna up in 2 ways. Seared with sesame seeds and one served raw.
What a great day trolling offshore out of key largo Florida! I hope you have been enjoying the south florida fishing channel!

In this video:
We run out of the key largo state park john pennekamp on our mission to catch and cook some fish! Craig got some new fishing numbers off key largo, Florida in deeper water around 200 feet.
The first fishing problem we run into is that the numbers we had weren't marking anything on the depth finder. Grrr, the fishing problems have begun. We do a bunch of drifts for about an hour or 2 and then decide it's time to go fish a key largo wreck.
We anchor on the wreck and drop down live pilchards. They get wacked so fast every time by big fish! We had our lines break off many times. Using #30 mono. If we want to catch a fish wreck fishing we will need to use heavier line. I move to #50 mono and manage to get a fish off the bottom.
It's a yellow jack. I will keep him for this catch n cook. I already know exactly what I will cook. Cheesy fish dip! I have done the cheesy fish dip in a couple past catch and cook videos and I ALWAYS love it. My parents come into town and I get to cook the yellowjack fish for them and they enjoyed it.

The Best Spearfishing Compilation | Florida Keys | 27 min
I made this spearfishing compilation back in 2014 when I was living on Geiger Key by Key West. This is the longest and the best spearfishing compilation video I have made so enjoy!

In this spearfishing video Lee and I are only freediving. Going to depths of 80+ feet to shoot big black grouper. There are tons of epic spearfishing shots. Fish ranging from red grouper, black grouper, yellowtail snapper, cero mackerel, mahi mahi, mutton snapper, mangrove snapper, hogfish and much more!
Remember the hogfish minimum limit in 2014 was much smaller than what it is now.
Need a speargun? Here's a good entry level gun: https://amzn.to/2Kwfg4f
I even get bit by a fish while spearfishing. I was bit by a cero mackerel and bled a lot but I was the winner in the end when I put that fish in the cooler. I wish this could have been a catch and cook video but this was way before my youtube channel and knew people loved to watch the catch n cook videos.
But I promise you when I lived with Lee in the Florida keys we catch and we cook! I love spearfishing with Lee and have some of the best fishing memories from living in Geiger Key.
There are also lots of sharks in this spearfishing video. Lots of bull sharks in the florida keys, especially down near key west. They ate a lot of our grouper! Those pesky bull sharks! haha

PS: this is the best spearfishing video ever

In this catch n cook video:
I take a break from doing taxes and go fishing and diving at Molasses Reef here in the Florida Keys. Key Largo to be exact. We are actually about 1/4 mile south of Molasses Reef, so it's not 100% molasses reef but close enough!
I catch a yellowtail snapper and a mutton snapper in 35 feet of water using pilchards as fishing bait on a knocker rig. The snapper was legal size and went into the ice box. Too bad the mutton snapper was too small! Back in the water for that snapper...
After a little bit of time we move spots out to a wreck. We anchor up on one of the wreck balls which is in about 110 feet of water.
We chum and start fishing.
Lots of break offs! It must be those barracuda! Emma catches her first fish, which is a barracuda. We will be saving this barracuda to use a chunk bait on another trip. Yellowtail snapper LOVE barracuda chunks, it makes an awesome fishing bait and can catch lots of fish.
Craig gets a yellowtail snapper but it gets bitten in half by a barracuda right at the boat. Darn I wanted to cook that! The day is late but we don't give up fishing. We try a little longer and get lucky! Another yellowtail snapper and mutton snapper on the boat!
What a fun day fishing with my friends here in key largo!
I end this fishing video with a real good catch clean cook. I will be using the yellowtail snapper in this catch n cook. It will be a lemon butter snapper recipe that I haven't done in a long time and it's the first time doing it on this channel. So be sure to stick around to the end to see the catch and cook!

In this catch and cook video:
We run out to the key largo patch reef fishing between 12-17 feet of water and start chumming to get the ballyhoo behind the boat. They must have been in deeper waters today because they were not thick at all!
It took a lot of effort to get the ballyhoo to finally show up. Finally the key largo patch reefs start to produce and present us with some great ballyhoo baits. We deploy the ballyhoop net and catch our first load of ballyhoo. This is a great fishing net to catch ballyhoo
Wondering how to use a ballyhoo net?
This ballyhoo net is much easier at getting the ballyhoo far back compared to throwing a cast net. It's great when the ballyhoo are being skiddish. We load the livewell with fresh ballyhoo and now it's time to go fishing offshore!
Tell them Heiko from South Florida Fishing Channel sent ya and get a discount: Theballyhoop.com
We run out to 600 feet deep water and find a floating bucket. We start fishing the bucket and I catch a couple small bar jacks. Trash and wood and any big floating objects very far offshore usual hold a lot of fish and are great fishing spots. We decide to start trolling.
It's not long before our lines are hit. I can already taste the wahoo for this catch and cook. But darn it got off! Another hit and another loss. Man this is starting to worry me. Will there even be a catch n cook?
We eventually do catch some fish and be ready for an interesting catch and cook because this isn't normally a fish I would ever eat. And to be honest, it's my first time cooking this fish. It's a false albacore. I've seen people call them bonito or bonita, but I think the correct term for the specific tuna I caught is a false albacore.
Overall it was another AMAZING patch reef fishing and offshore trolling day =)

In this video:
We have a bit of a late start since I had to put the boat in the water and then it turned out the battery was dead and then my jumper died so we had to do some manual cranking to get this fishing trip in action.
We run out of tavernier creek and run offshore to 130-250 feet and troll around hoping to find some mahi, wahoo or tuna. The weather was a little weird and we were getting beat up a bit. Some storm clouds started appearing. Man I want to catch a wahoo so bad, I have yet to catch one off Key Largo. The last time I caught one was off fort pierce.
Before heading in we drift the reefs edge between 35-80feet. This is where I hook up on a few small yellowtail. These yellowtail snapper are too small for a catch and cook. I must catch a bigger fish. I'm starting to get desperate and then catch a grunt...
Now normally I would throw this grunt back but I'm so hungry I keep it because I want to cook it. Then we catch a couple keeper yellowtail snapper also. looks like this will be a good catch n cook after all! You might be wondering, how does grunt taste? It actually tastes really good, so this should be interesting to see how it compares to the yellowtail snapper.
SPOILER ALERT!!!
I fry both the grunt and the yellowtail in this catch n cook and compare the 2. Both fish taste amazing, but hands down the yellowtail snapper wins. I still love the taste of grunt and any fishing trip where things are going slow i'll probably put a grunt in the box if it comes down to it...

I get 5 pounds of boiled peanuts from Publix. Publix has very large bags of peanuts on display but if you ask someone working there they can weigh out a custom amount for you to take home.
I use a slow cooker and fill it with the peanuts, spicy Cajun bag which is actually a shrimp boil. And then I add garlic powder, salt, pepper, old bay, chopped onions and sliced jalapenos.
If you want your spicy boiled peanuts to be extra spicy add a nice serving of cayenne pepper. Let them sit in the slow cooker for 24-36 hours on a low temperature. I'm sure you can make these boiled peanuts soft in under 24 hours if you use the high setting.
Add water as needed and your boiled peanuts should be ready for munching soon, just wait for them to get soft and dig in!
I hope you enjoy this boiled peanut recipe. I think i'll experiment with some other recipes and see if I can find something even better.

In this video:
I start the day in this part 2 like I started the day before. I wake up early to go fishing and stop at the tom thumb to pick up some beer. Then I make my way north in Key largo to Craigs place where we load up the boat and catch some live bait. Pilchards in this case.
About 15 minutes from leaving the docks we run into some boat engine issues. It was overheating, but did some of this and did some of that and presto. It's back in action. We run out into the Atlantic ocean through john pennekamp. Which is a state park in key largo.
We start running out towards the islamorada humps. On the way out we begin to troll and the seas start to pick up. Instead of getting soaked going to the humps we decide to stay at the reefs edge and go fish for yellowtail snapper instead between 45-115 feet of water.
Using live pilchards as our live bait it's not long before the cero mackerel show up. At first we thought the cero mackerel were kingfish but nope! We try to troll offshore for an hour or so. Man I would love to catch and cook a tuna. Or catch n cook a wahoo. But we decide to go back to the reefs edge and start chunking for yellowtail snapper. The live bait also gets the mackerel very excited
Lloyd starts to catch the yellowtail snapper first and he put some flags on the boat! These are flag yellowtail! I'm stoked to finally be catching those big yellowtail. I won't be able to fry these snapper whole thou! Seems like the patch reef snapper are a bit smaller.
It was a great day of fishing with craig and this is how to catch flag yellowtail snapper when you fish with us! After I get home I fillet the snapper and fry it in this catch and cook. So it's more of a catch clean cook. It tasted amazing and I hope you enjoyed this fishing trip with South Florida Fishing Channel!

Since this boat is new Craig didn't want to run too far offshore just in case something happened with the engines so we try and target some fish off the reefs edge out of John Pennekamp Key Largo.
We had live bait so we do some bottom fishing drifting the live baits and at one point anchor up and try our luck for the yellowtail.
For the most part of this fishing trip I'm using vertical jigs and bucktail jigs.
Tomorrow we will take Craigs new boat offshore again, but in the next video I can already tell you there is much more fishing action and we load our coolers with fish!
Nonetheless this was still a great fishing trip with great friends and I can't wait to get back out there! I love being offshore. I love Key Largo. I love fishing. And most of all I love hanging out with friends.

Advice Needed | Water on deck issue & Transducer growth
Basically as you will see from the video I have 2 issues. First: water on the deck not draining when the boat is stationary. Second: some serious growth on the transducer.
So basically advice is needed here about what I should do about this water on deck issue. I just want there to never be any standing water and ready to do whatever needed to achieve that.
Also, the transducer has some serious growth on it. Will this growth effect the transducer performance? And if so, how can I counteract this issue?
Blue Crab Trap Review | A drunken catch n cook
I promise this is the last blue crab catch n cook for a while. I buy a blue crab trap and some beer in preparation for a slightly drunken catch and cook. 2 great offshore videos coming soon!

In this video:
I was originally planning to go offshore fishing with Dan, but the weather wasn't being friendly and we decided to not run out. So instead I decide to drive to K-mart and look for a blue crab trap.
They had a lot of weird looking pull traps and I bought one that had an auto closing door that can be triggered. It looked like an interesting blue crab trap so I thought I might as well give the trap a try.
I get the trap and catch a live mullet which I will use as chunk bait to bait the blue crabs. First I feed the blue crabs and then in return they will feed me in this catch n cook.
I head to some private docks here in key largo, florida and drop the trap down. I also throw some mullet out on a line so I can line and net the crabs. It turned out the net and line worked much much better.
The crabs seemed to walk right past the crab trap every time! It was a little frustrating. 5-6 crabs walked right up to the entrance of the trap and then didn't go inside. Maybe they didn't want fresh mullet but some chicken instead? Who knows...
Anyways I caught a nice amount of blue crabs and steam them up with some other foods for dinner. I may have been slightly drunk when I was doing the catch n cook so excuse me. I may have had some beer and wine.
I may have to give this blue crab trap another try again in the future but we'll see. Maybe it just needs to be in a better location.
