In this video:
I drive down to Marathon from Key Largo early in the morning and meet up with the SeaFear squad. We take out a 31' Prowler and boy does that boat have some power. We load up on pinfish on our way offshore to the marathon humps.

It's not long before we get to the marathon humps and start vertical jigging. And boom, first drop we are hooked up. The black fin tuna are sitting deep. We hook into bonito and black fin tuna. The Marathon humps were surprisingly rough right on top of the hump. Two Conchs was out there also.

We do several drops and load the boat with black fin tuna and bonito vertical jigging. We try trolling for some mahi without much luck. But then we find some patchy seagrass holding some mahi mahi. They were so stubborn! We were only able to put one mahi into the boat.

We decide to do some bottom fishing on the way in. It must have been the big grouper we saw on the Two Conchs that gave us some motivation. We anchor up between 40-60ft and put out the chum. It's not long before the yellowtail snapper show up. Man do I love snapper!

One of our yellowtail snappers was swallowed and spit back out by what we thought was probably a grouper. Sure enough we hook into a big black grouper on the light yellowtail snapper hook! I can't believe we were able to get that grouper into the boat!

We get back to the docks and clean the grouper, mahi and yellowtail snapper. I saw an electric knife being used for the first time and I gotta tell you i'm in love! I'll be ordering one soon! I drive to Lee's house where he cooks up the black fin tuna I brought. He grilled some of the tuna and we ate some raw as sashimi. It tasted great!

Big thanks again to everyone who came out on the boat fishing and for inviting me on this marathon humps fishing trip. I had a blast and can't wait to get back out again.
