In this video:
I was originally planning to go offshore fishing with Dan, but the weather wasn't being friendly and we decided to not run out. So instead I decide to drive to K-mart and look for a blue crab trap.

They had a lot of weird looking pull traps and I bought one that had an auto closing door that can be triggered. It looked like an interesting blue crab trap so I thought I might as well give the trap a try.

I get the trap and catch a live mullet which I will use as chunk bait to bait the blue crabs. First I feed the blue crabs and then in return they will feed me in this catch n cook.

I head to some private docks here in key largo, florida and drop the trap down. I also throw some mullet out on a line so I can line and net the crabs. It turned out the net and line worked much much better.

The crabs seemed to walk right past the crab trap every time! It was a little frustrating. 5-6 crabs walked right up to the entrance of the trap and then didn't go inside. Maybe they didn't want fresh mullet but some chicken instead? Who knows...

Anyways I caught a nice amount of blue crabs and steam them up with some other foods for dinner. I may have been slightly drunk when I was doing the catch n cook so excuse me. I may have had some beer and wine.

I may have to give this blue crab trap another try again in the future but we'll see. Maybe it just needs to be in a better location.
