Doves, Diplomats And Diabetes: A Darwinian Interpretation Of Type 2 Diabetes And Related Disorders
Dr. Milind Watve
Dr. Watve's discussion about the evolutionary pressures that are effecting obesity, insulin resistance and other associated diseases is as outside-the-box as one can imagine. Imagine that our body's response to the lack of aggression, risk and fear are causing us to respond differently. This response makes us prone to fat accumulation. And exercise protocols that reintroduce the risk and fear components that we evolved under can actually be part of the prescription to change the outcome of disease! This is a must-hear game-changing interview.

NEW STUDY Food Addiction Linked to Parents' Drinking Habits
Guest; Lindzey Hoover - Graduate Student; Clinical Science
People with a parent with a history of alcohol problems are at greater risk for showing signs of addiction to highly processed foods, a new University of Michigan study found.
These foods, such as ice cream, chocolate, pizza and fries, contain unnaturally high amounts of refined carbohydrates and fats that may trigger an addictive response in some people.
U-M researchers wanted to know if a major risk factor for addiction—a parent with alcohol problems—predicted an increased risk of addiction to highly processed foods.

Meat Climate Crisis Report; Debunked
Meat: Climate Crisis Report; Debunked
Dr. Sean Baker
A new study claims that as we switch to alternative protein sources such as plant-based meats, climate change will be positively affected. An article siting the study by the Boston Consulting Group states that plane-based meats are the best investment for tackling the climate crisis. They're ignoring a body of scientific evidence that shows conventional agriculture is in fact one of the largest offenders in the climate change today. We are being lied to. Its the standard today to be lied to by the agenda-driven.

Pet Food Math
Pet Food Math Chelsea Kent
In recent years we've realized that dogs are getting the same diseases as their owners. These are diseases we DO NOT see in wild dogs. A link between the amount of carbohydrates in your dog's food and the occurrence metabolic disorders and cancer has been well illustrated. But pet food manufacturers won't reveal the carbohydrate content of their pet foods even though there is now a movement by pet owners to get that information. Pet owners jus assume that if their pet's food says "grain free" or "corn free" that its a low carbohydrate blend. But it isn't. A website has been set up where you can take the label claims of your favorite pet food and now calculate the carbohydrate content of that food. Placing the power in the pet owner's hands to determine for themselves if they're feeding their beloved family member what they think they are. Knowledge is power.

In addition, growth hormone is needed for normal brain function.

Could Using Your Own Stem Cells for Arthritis Actually Cause More Harm than Good?
Could Using Your Own Stem Cells for Arthritis Actually Cause More Harm than Good? Dr. Elizabeth Yurth, MD
Osteoarthritis, we have learned, has more to do with inflammation than mechanical loading. Obesity is a driver of chronic inflammation and the severely obese and inflamed develop osteoarthritis in non-load-bearing joints like fingers and the cervical spine as an example. Stem cell therapy is being touted as a viable treatment. And mire and more physicians are opting for stem cells extracted right from the patient themselves as opposed to embryonic tissues, fetal tissues, and differentiated somatic cells sources. Is there an inherent potential problem when using the patients own stem cells?

Glioblastoma; Paving the Way Toward Future Treatments PLUS A Conversation with Robert Patton
Glioblastoma; Paving the Way Toward Future Treatments PLUS A Conversation with Robert Patton Andrew Scarborough, BSc (Hons), PgCert - Isabella Cooper- FnDNutr., BSc (Hons), AFHEA, AMRSB, AfENDO
Glioblastoma (GBM) is the most common and aggressive malignant brain tumour in adults. The standard of care at diagnosis includes surgical resection, radiation, and chemotherapy. Little progress has been made to improve outcomes, with a median survival of 12 months from diagnosis.
One emerging strategy that differs from conventional GBM therapies is metabolic pathway targeting. At present there has yet to be any research outlining a metabolic phenotype of disease via observation of key biomarkers. To pave the way for future studies, it is key to establish what metabolic dysregulation looks like in a cohort of GBM patients to direct interventions. PLUS Necessity is the mother of invention they say. And sometimes the most obvious things are the path to the greatest changes.
