Washington Gun Law President, William Kirk, discusses a terrible series of events which took place last weekend in Daytona Beach, Florida, where an elderly couple made a murder suicide pack to end their lives, but when the time came to execute the plan, the elderly wife was not able to turn the gun on herself. This, after she ended her husband's life, at this wishes and per his request. The woman now sits behind bars, being held without bail, for one count of Premeditated Murder and three more counts of Aggravated Assault with a Firearm. But, does the law need to take into account all of the circumstances surrounding this event? Do more states need to create medically assisted end-of-life procedures so that terrible events like, which are not that uncommon, cease to occur? What really is the right answer? Washington Gun Law President, William Kirk, discusses a scathing letter authored by the President of the Washington State Sheriffs' Association, Sheriff Clay Myers, of Kittitas County, who really takes Governor Inslee to task over the proposed gun control bills in Olympia. In particular, Sheriff Myers challenges the Governor over his proposed "assault weapon" ban and the pre-purchase licensing requirement. Washington Gun Law President, William Kirk, discusses the ongoing saga on New York's Concealed Carry Improvement Act which has already garnered more litigation in the last three months than most pieces of legislation see in a lifetime. After passing this horrific piece of legislation, the Court of Appeals for the Northern District of NY immediately issue an injunction on the law, only to have the 2nd Circuit summarily reverse them. That led to the Supreme Court jumping in and demanding briefing from the State of New York asking to justify the 2nd Circuit's decision to vacate the injunction.
