As you are aware, a Judge in Harney County has issued a temporary injunction against the law which precludes the implementation and enforcement of any portion of that law right now. Although this is only a temporary victory, this is huge news when considering what must be shown to prevail on a motion for a temporary injunction, which is the likelihood of prevailing on the merits of the case. Rahimi, which found that 18 USC Sec. 922(g)(8), which prohibits possession of firearms by those merely accused of domestic abuse, does not withstand the historical analogue scrutiny as announced in the Bruen opinion. Consequently, Mr. Rahimi's conviction of being in unlawful possession of a firearm was overturned. (Note, his other convictions for multiple counts of assault with a firearm were not).
