Robert Duvall Lives on a 300-Acre Horse Farm in Rural Virginia
Actor Robert Duvall is undoubtedly one of the greatest performers of our time. After a celebrated career as an icon in Hollywood, Duvall might be best remembered for many of his western and southern film roles -- A Night in Old Mexico, Lonesome Dove, Tender Mercies and Wild Horses to name a few.
Duvall spent most of his time growing up in Annapolis, Maryland as his father was an admiral in the Navy. Though he realized early on that he was interested in the performing arts, Duvall briefly followed his father's footsteps to serve his country. After graduating from Principia College with a Bachelor's degree in Drama, he joined the Army but he only served for a year.
In 1955, Duvall moved to New York City to pursue an acting career. He was in good company too, his classmates included Dustin Hoffman, Gene Hackman, and James Caan. He was even roommates with Hoffman and Hackman. For the next four years, Duvall had a steady career on the stage before his television debut on Armstrong Circle Theater. A few years later he made his film debut as Boo Radley in To Kill A Mockingbird.
Duvall went on to win an Academy Award for Best Actor for his role in the 1983 film, Tender Mercies as Mac Sledge, a country music singer recovering from alcoholism. In the film, he tries to rebuild his life in Texas.
Across his career he has been nominated for six other Oscars for his roles in Coppola's The Godfather, Apocalypse Now, The Great Santini, The Apostle, A Civil Action, and The Judge. He's won two Emmy Awards and four Golden Globes including one for his role in the classic miniseries Lonesome Dove. Duvall told the Wall Street Journal that playing former Texas Ranger Captain Augustus "Gus" McCrae is his favorite role he's ever played.
To say that he has had an incredibly diverse career is an understatement. Similar to Meryl Streep, Duvall really can jump from one role to something completely different and master it completely. He played General Robert E. Lee (who is rumored to be a distant relative on his mother's side) in Gods and Generals. He even played soccer coach opposite Will Ferrell in the comedy Kicking & Screaming. From Oscar-nominated films to campy comedies, the man has done everything. Including going to space as an astronaut in Deep Impact.
These days, Duvall has chosen to live life at a slower pace away from the chaos of Hollywood. He lives with his fourth wife, Luciana at their horse ranch in Virginia. Duvall met his wife in Argentina (fun fact, he's a skilled tango dancer) and they've been together since 1997.
Duvall spends all of his time at their ranch in Northern Virginia’s Fauquier County unless he has to fly to Los Angeles or New York for work purposes. For over 25 years, he has commuted from his 360 acres in the beautiful hills of Virginia. But with all of that property and a 270-year-old farmhouse to call his own, can you blame him?
According to TODAY correspondent Jill Rappaport, the scene is right out of a book.
"This 360-acre gentleman’s farm (as he puts it) is the next stop before heaven! It boasts beautiful fields, hundred-year-old willow trees, an incredible pond and a stone manor that made me feel like I was on the set of 'Gone With the Wind.'"

Bob Dylan’s First Single in 8 Years Was a 17-Minute Song About JFK
The entirety of the world was shocked when United States President John F. Kennedy was shot and killed in Dallas, Texas, in 1963. Rumors swirled, an investigation was underway, suspects were apprehended and everyone else, naturally, mourned. It looked different for everybody.
Bob Dylan hasn’t written an original song since the Tempest in 2012, though you can still catch the famed singer-songwriter on tour singing his hits. But apparently, something’s been on his mind for a while now. He tells us exactly what that is in his new 17-MINUTE song. “Murder Most Foul” is his longest song to date. Prior, his longest song was “Highlands” which clocks in at 16 minutes, 31 seconds, shorter than “Murder Most Foul” by about twenty seconds or so. The topic? The assassination of President John F. Kennedy on that fateful day.
He released the new song via Twitter, reading, "Greetings to my fans and followers with gratitude for all your support and loyalty over the years. This is an unreleased song we recorded a while back that you might find interesting. Stay safe, stay observant and may God be with you." Bob Dylan brings us a reminder that even the most painful events can be put poetically. The Nobel Prize winner beautifully meshes art with conspiracy theories.
He blames the death of President Kennedy on a conspiracy theory. He also weaves multiple pop-culture references. From Woodstock, The Beatles, Nat King Cole, Stevie Nicks, Patsy Cline but also Lee Harvey Oswald, one of the assumed murders of JFK, who claimed: “I’m just a patsy.”
There were also dozens of other songs and artists mentioned in the song and takes on the perspective of JFK himself and mention of the bad luck that the Kennedy family has faced since his death. The line is unmissable and tragic, “we’ll get them as well.” Sonically, “Murder Most Foul” is gentle compared to the topic. With piano, the violin present takes the listener through the biggest moments of the sixties and seventies.

Tony Stewart Lip Syncs With Police Officers in Viral Video
Back in the summer of 2018, lip sync challenge videos were all the rage. From Indianapolis, Indiana to Jacksonville, Florida, police departments, fire departments, and EMT personnel from all over the country took to the streets to film lip sync challenge videos, because even first responders should get the chance to go viral.
In its lip sync entry, the Columbus Police Department in Indiana got just a little bit of a leg up on the competition when it got Columbus native and racing legend Tony Stewart to make a cameo appearance.
In the viral video, Stewart flexes his racing chops when he gives the Columbus PD police officers chase as Sammy Hagar’s “I Can’t Drive 55″ plays. Then, the Eldora Speedway owners flexes his lip syncing chops, totally nailing his “Total Eclipse of the Heart” bit.
Of course, the rest of the video isn’t too shabby either, with the cops doing a nearly five-minute routine to such songs as Miley Cyrus’s “Party in the U.S.A.,” the Friends theme song, and Journey’s “Don’t Stop Believin’.
Other local departments may have not had the star power of Tony Stewart, but there were still some pretty incredible performances. The Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department, for instance, had quite the routine to Justin Timberlake’s “Can’t Stop the Feeling.”
Then, you had the Martinsville Police Department in Virginia, which basically threw a full-on pool party.
Now, back to Tony Stewart. If you thought his lip-syncing prowess is a rarity among current and former NASCAR stars, you’re sorely mistaken. Back in December 2017, all of the drivers from the Joe Gibbs Racing team got together for a little lip sync action of their own.
Before that, Kyle Busch and his wife Samantha, teamed up for a couples lip sync video. The Busches sure do love them some lip syncing. But, hey, you can’t help but respect that.
Speaking of respect, considering the mutual respect that Stewart and Busch have for each other on the racetrack, you have to assume they both respect the other’s lip syncing abilities as well.

Get the Baby Wipes Ready, ‘Sh*t the Bed Hot Sauce’ Will Leave You On the Toilet for Hours
The second I get to a Tex-Mex restaurant, I douse my chips in salt and salsa. But if the hot sauce is too hot, I just settle for a tortilla with butter (and a margarita). Why? Because I'm way too chicken for any hot sauce that's going to make my stomach feel anything less than perfect. If you love your hot sauce scorching, you're insane, but I'm challenging you to try 'Shit The Bed Hot Sauce.'
Bunsters is the company behind Shit The Bed Hot Sauce. The hot sauce is loaded with Himalayan pink salt, bird's eye peppers, Trinidad Scorpion peppers, and Tibetan Goji berries. Just reading "scorpion" lets me know to stay away from this stuff. I have white sheets, I can't risk it.
Bunsters hot sauce originates from Australia. It measures around 35,000 on the Scoville Scale, which is the measurement for how spicy a chili pepper is. For reference, a jalapeño can be anywhere from 2,000-8,000 in heat units.
Yeah, this sounds 10 times hotter than Tobasco sauce for sure. The hot sauce is also infused with lime juice, apple cider vinegar, coconut sugar, and orange juice. The yummy flavor won't get lost in the scorpion chillies. You can visit Amazon for the hot sauce. Customer reviews are hilarious.
Get your baby wipes ready. Maybe some hemorrhoid cream too? You don't want to feel raw and chapped after.
I don't know y'all, feeling like you're peeing out of your bottom doesn't sound enticing at all, but I know a lot of y'all love your hot, hot sauce. You can give all of your spicy lovin' friends a bottle. The Bunsters Shit The Bed combo packs are great gift ideas for pepper fiends.

Ayesha Curry Has Built a Culinary Empire on Her Own
The Golden State Warriors' dynasty brought fresh NBA stars to the forefront. Leading this breakthrough was Steph Curry, the three-point shooting, magic-dribbling, mouthpiece-chewing point guard.
His sudden rise intrigued fans. They wanted to know more about the game's brightest young superstar. We knew he was a phenom at Davidson; we knew his dad played in the NBA; we knew he could hit a three from the parking lot. Those are great and all, but like any NBA star and a lead in an action movie, who is his love interest?
Meet Ayesha Curry.
Ayesha Alexander was born on March 23, 1989, in Markham, Ontario, Canada — a suburb 30 miles northeast of Toronto. She grew up an actress and played several guest roles in music videos, TV shows, and movies. Her first role was in the music video "Too Young for Love" by Suga Prince.
At 14, Ayesha and her family moved to Charlotte, North Carolina, where she met Steph in a church youth group. Ayesha moved to Los Angeles after graduating high school to pursue acting. She kept in touch with Steph, and the two officially started dating when the two-time NBA MVP visited LA for the 2008 ESPYS.
Ayesha moved back to Charlotte while Steph finished his career at Davidson. They were married on July 30, 2011. The couple shares three children together; daughters Riley (born 2012) and Ryan (born 2015), and son Canon (born 2018). Riley gained fame for her appearances in postgame press conferences.
Curry started her culinary career in 2014 by performing meal demonstrations on her YouTube channel, Little Lights of Mine. By 2016, she published her own cookbook entitled The Seasoned Life, detailing recipes and life with her family. Her successful cooking stints earned her an exclusive cooking show on the Food Network called Ayesha's Homemade (later Ayesha's Home Kitchen). The show ran two seasons, extending 13 episodes in total. She is the host and judge of ABC's Family Food Fight, which ran for eight episodes in 2019.
In collaboration with chef Michael Mena, Curry opened International Smoke, a pop-up restaurant with locations in San Francisco and San Diego. In 2017, Curry was named a spokesperson for CoverGirl. She was a host for season three of The Great American Baking Show on ABC.
The 31-year-old cookbook author is active on social media. On Instagram, she has 7.3 million followers combined with 943,900 on Twitter. Her company, Little Lights of Mine, donates 10% of all proceeds to the No Kid Hungry charity. She and Steph are strong supporters of social justice, especially in the Bay Area during the coronavirus pandemic and COVID-19 outbreak.
Along with Dwyane Wade and Gabrielle Union, and LeBron James and Savannah James, the Currys are one of the NBA's highest-profile couples. Golden State Warriors point guard Stephen Curry built his empire on the court, and his wife Ayesha Curry is heading one of her own.

This Swedish Trucker Is Also a Smoking Hot Model
Meet Angelica Larsson. Hailing from Stockholm, Sweden, this girl does it all. She drives trucks, operates heavy machinery, shoots guns, rides motorcycles, scuba dives, and sky dives.
Oh, and she’s also ridiculously hot.
Angelica developed a love for big trucks at a young age, when she climbed inside a semi at the age of four. By the time she was 19, the blonde bombshell had her commercial license and was driving semi trucks in Sweden professionally.
While she mostly drives Scania and Volvo trucks in Sweden, Angelica is always up for a challenge. Back in 2018, the Swedish truck driver took her first trip to America and drove some big rigs at The Great American Trucking Show in Dallas, Texas.
Speaking of challenges, Angelica likes to showcase all sorts of fun experiments and educational tutorials on her YouTube page. Remember the viral bottle cap challenge? Here’s Angelica pulling it off with a with a forklift and 15-ton wheel loader.
Though she has model good looks, and frequently shows them off on her Instagram page, Angelica takes the most pride in being a trucker. She travels all over the world doing what she loves and has earned a ton of respect for what she can do behind the wheel of some monstrous machines.
While she’s already accomplished so much, Angelica’s big dreams never stop. She want to drive a truck around Norway, “because their notoriously bad roads would be great to test her driving skill.” She also wants to drive a land train across Australia, and plans on traveling to India, as well, to experience the culture and challenge herself with the road conditions. Angelica Larsson is no doubt an inspiration to girls out there with dreams of becoming truck driver.
Even still, her Instagram page definitely doesn’t hurt to look at.

Ambrosia Salad
Categorized as a jello salad, the ambrosia salad is named after the food of Greek Gods, which is said to give longevity or immortality to those who eat it. Created in the South, the first-ever recipe of the fruit salad was recorded in an 1867 cookbook titled, Dixie Cookery: or How I Managed My Table for Twelve Years written by Maria Massey Barringer of Concord, North Carolina. While the recipe is basic (it calls for coconut, sugar, and pulped oranges) it's easy to see where today's recipe came from. By the 1900s, the recipe had gained pineapple and whipped cream and in the 1970s people were adding anything from jello to mayonnaise and sour cream to their salads to bring over to the neighborhood potluck. At this time canned fruit cocktails reigned supreme at every party you attended. Remember Watergate Salad?
Today's recipe follows the classic preparation my grandmother used with canned mandarin oranges, Cool Whip, maraschino cherries, pineapple tidbits, pecans, and mini marshmallows.
Begin by combining the Cool Whip and sour cream in a large bowl and mix until combined. Fold in the marshmallows, shredded coconut, pineapple chunks (or tidbits depending on preference), maraschino cherries, and pecans. Gently fold in the mandarin oranges last to prevent them from breaking.
Cover and refrigerate the Ambrosia fruit salad for at least two hours before serving.

Do you Remember The Carol Burnett Show?
Do you remember "The Carol Burnett Show?" The hilarious one-hour variety show/sitcom was a favorite during its day and age but is still considered a timeless classic tv show. Carol Burnett, along with other comedic cast members and guest stars, performed some of the funniest skits and parodies of the 70s, still to be remembered throughout the decades to come.
"The Carol Burnett Show" ran for 11 seasons, starring Carol Burnett, Vicki Lawrence, Harvey Korman(seasons 1-10), Lyle Waggoner(seasons 1-7), Tim Conway(seasons 9-11, guest star for seasons 1-8), and Dick Van Dyke(beginning of season 11). The tv show not only established and defined Burnett as a popular television superstar favorite but also won the Emmy Award for “Best Variety Series” three times.
Not only did their funniest sketches come from parodying well-known movies and television shows, but they also came from their own original recurring series of comedy sketches. Some of their more popular parodies included "Went with the Wind!," which took after "Gone with the Wind," and "As the Stomach Turns," which was inspired by the tv series soap opera "As the World Turns." "Mrs. Wiggins and The Family" were both original recurring series of comedy skits on the show, ultimately leading to their movie "Eunice," and a spin-off tv show starring co-star Vicki Lawrence called "Mama’s Family."
The tv series also hosted many famous guest stars including Bernadette Peters, Sonny & Cher, Steve Lawrence, Betty White, Lucille Ball, and Bing Crosby. "The Carol Burnett Show" was so popular that CBS, ABC, and NBC all ran either the series or more post-show series, making some of the characters from the show timeless. Many will remember their show favorites such as Mr. Tudball from the "Mrs. Wiggins" series, Eunice from "The Family," and even the unnamed charwoman, who was considered to be Burnett’s signature character.

Isla Rose Earnhardt Adorably Steals the Show on Her Dad’s Podcast
Watch out, Joe Rogan! Isla Rose Earnhardt is about to be at the top of the podcasting game in no time!
Earlier this week, Dale Earnhardt Jr.’s daughter made her podcast debut during a Skype recording of the Dale Jr. Download. It took her about a minute to get acquainted with her dad’s setup — after all, headphones and microphones are pretty strange things for a two-year-old — but once she got all settled in, she was the star of the show. She even flexed the pipes for a adorable rendition of “Twinkle, Twinkle, Little Star.”
Get this girl her own show, Junior! She’s a natural!
Due to the social distancing requirements brought on by the coronavirus outbreak, Earnhardt has recorded the last few episodes of the podcast from the comfort of his North Carolina home. Needless to say, the Earnhardt family has been spending quite of bit of quality time together.
Speaking of the Earnhardt family, the unit’s about to grow by one, as Junior, his wife Amy Earnhardt, and Isla Rose announced to the world in two heartwarming Instagram posts a couple weeks back.
On last week’s episode of the Dale Jr. Download, the two-time Daytona 500 winner discussed his feelings about having a second child.
“I’m looking for forward to going through that role process again and to have another human in our house,” Junior said. “The first two years with Isla have been incredible, and I can’t wait for that experience all over again and to see them two together, interact with each other, will just be so much fun.”

America's Best College Chants
Let's take a tour around the country and find some of the coolest college chants that help define every university's sports teams on game day.
Used during college basketball games at Allen Fieldhouse, as well as Kansas football games, "Rock Chalk, Jayhawk" dates back to 1886, with credit going to the university's science club and geology department. "Rock chalk" is a type of limestone found where the university sits. The call formed around that idea, and the Jayhawk faithful haven't looked back.
Contrary to popular belief, Rocky Top isn't actually the official fight song of the University of Tennessee. Rocky Top was recorded by the Osborne Brothers and adapted by the Pride of the Southland Band in the 1970s.
Oklahoma's famous "Boomer Sooner" chant is used as a greeting, the university fight song, and a callback chant, the "Boomer Sooner" was written by Arthur M. Alden, a student in history and physiology at OU in 1905.
Hotty Toddy and Ole Miss are inseparable. It first appeared in a copy of the Mississippian and immediately stuck. After the initial call, fans yell, "Hell Yeah! Damn Right!" then continue: Hotty Toddy, Gosh almighty... Who the hell are we, Hey!... Flim Flam, Bim Bam... OLE MISS, BY DAMN!
At Arkansas the Hog Call dates back to the 1920s when a group of farmers, rallying an underperforming college football team, decided to squeal like hogs. Apparently, the tactic worked and the Razorbacks won the game.
Originally, "O-H-I-O S-T-A-T-E" was the chant. After learning the chant in the Navy, Matthew Sidley joined the cheerleading squad at Ohio State University and taught it to fans at Columbus' Ohio Stadium in 1947. The second part was dropped, and the now-famous chant was born.
Chanted at sporting events and around town, "We Are Penn State" dates back to 1946. Penn State was told by the University of Miami that its two black players were not allowed to play in a road game. The team's captain said "We are Penn State," and the team unanimously agreed. The game was canceled, and a Penn State tradition was born.
The origins of Alabama's "Roll Tide" are scattered, with so many stories of its first use that I chose to digress. However, few calls are as iconic as the University of Alabama's.
The "I Believe That We Will Win" cheer, popularized by the U.S. soccer team, actually came from a U.S. Naval Academy cheerleader, who first started the cheer in 1999 at the annual Army-Navy game.
The famous Florida State Seminoles' war chant is simply thousands of people intimidating anyone who dares come to Doak Campbell Stadium. FSU's war chant first happened during a 1984 football game. The Marching Chiefs band began playing a portion of what became the iconic war cry, and it became a stadium-wide hit at home games ever since.

Step Back Into Your Youth With These Paper Dolls
Before you were gifted the Barbie Dreamhouse you still hold onto today; you probably played with vintage paper dolls. Every little girl in the 60s-70s had a paper doll book. When you weren't playing dress-up, you cut out fashion dolls. Picking out outfits with your playmate was the ultimate after school fun. (When you weren't riding bikes of course).
Paper Dolls originate from London. According to unt.edu, S. & J. Fuller began producing the first paper doll books in 1810. These paper doll books were actually more than toys. They were storybooks; each book often told a story about the character. Little Fanny is a prominent paper doll that S. & J. Fuller is known for producing. Soon after the first printed paper doll book gained popularity, S. & J. Fuller created a Cinderella paper doll book in 1814.
As I mentioned, paper doll books told a story. It only made sense to turn notable fairy tales into paper books. Little girls loved to act out the stories as they played with their paper dolls. These were basically comic books for young girls in the 1800s.
Fast forward to the 1900s, and there are new products on the market. In the 1930s, a Shirley Temple paper doll set became available. As you can imagine, every Shirley Temple fan wanted this paper doll book. From Our Little Girl to Curly Top, Shirley Temple was everywhere.
Next, Merrill Publishing Company, Saalfield Publishing Company, Whitman Publishing Companies, and Queen Holden rose to prominence in the paper doll world.
Merrill Publishing Company has a Gone With the Wind book available on Amazon. You'll find Toodles, The Doll That Walks books from Saalfield Publishing Company, Blondie paper dolls from Whitman, and Sally & Susie paper doll books from Queen Holden on Amazon and eBay. Many of the antique paper doll listings are uncut.
Although Barbie dolls were popular in the 90s, Barbie paper dolls still made their way onto store shelves. You can find these retro paper doll books online as well. These collectibles can range anywhere from $10 to $200. It depends on the seller, but I can see why eBay sellers want to make some money. These are classics!

Visit One of the Last Bonanza Steakhouses Before It's Too Late
Do you remember the television show, Bonanza? The television show inspired a variety of merchandise; everything from Jim Beam Whiskey Ponderosa Ranch decanters to a Ponderosa Theme Park in Lake Tahoe, and most notably a chain of Ponderosa and Bonanza Steakhouses founded in 1965.
Back in 1963 Dan Blocker, who played Eric Cartright on Bonanza, opened up the first Bonanza restaurant in Westport, Connecticut. By 1989 the restaurant chain had over 600 restaurants located across the United States, serving up top sirloin and ribeye steaks for hungry customers.
Some of the last Bonanza Steakhouses are located in hidden corners of the Midwest and East Coast, including locations in Presque Isle, Maine, New Columbia, Pennsylvania, Lebanon, Virginia, and St. Cloud, Minnesota. There are also a few of them in Puerto Rico.
Step into one of the still-standing steakhouses and you'll instantly be transported in time. The steakhouse still offers an all-you-can-eat salad bar in a casual dining setting. Saddle up your horse and make your way to Bonanza Steakhouse before it gets put to the pasture for good.

Loretta Lynn's Siblings: Then and Now
Loretta Lynn has been an icon of country music for going on 60 years. The coal miner's daughter has multiple gold records and Grammys to her name and, along with country stars like Dolly Parton and Patsy Cline, is one of the first women of the genre and a member of both the Grand Ole Opry and The Country Music Hall of Fame. Heck she's even won a Presidential Medal of Freedom. She is a country legend. Full stop. But don't worry, she's "still a mountain girl." And a honky tonk girl. And the Van Lear rose.
Lynn was actually born Loretta Webb on April 14th, 1932, in the small town of Butcher Hollow, Kentucky, the oldest daughter of Melvin "Ted" Webb (her coal-mining father) and Clara Marie "Clary" (née Ramey). Though Loretta Lynn may be the most well known of the Webb clan, and the only one portrayed by Sissy Spacek in a movie, she isn't the only member of it, or the only famous one! Turns out she is one of eight! And several of Lynn's siblings have made names for themselves and all of them have interesting life stories.
Melvin Webb Jr. (December 4, 1929 – July 1, 1993)
Loretta Lynn was the second oldest sibling in the Webb family. Melvin Junior, named for his father, of course, was born first in the old Butcher Holler. Melvin married Bonnie Faye Webb and had nine (wow) children with her. Junior had more than a proclivity for procreation in common with his father, unfortunately. Melvin Webb Jr. died relatively young, at the age of 63, just like Melvin Sr., who passed away from black lung at the age of 52.
Herman Webb (September 3, 1934 – July 28, 2018)
Loretta Lynn just recently lost her nearest kid brother, Herman, who was born two years after she was. He passed away in 2018 at the age of 83. Herman stayed close to home after growing up, making a life in Van Lear, Kentucky. Herman also curated the Butcher Hollow homestead where he and his siblings grew up. The home was made famous by Lynn's song, "Coal Miner's Daughter", giving tours to the thousands of Loretta Lynn fans who made the pilgrimage every year.
Herman lived a full life beyond giving tours of the homestead, though. He had three daughters with his wife Patsy Jean, who passed before him, as well as six grandchildren, and four great-grandchildren.
Herman's other famous sibling, Crystal Gayle, paid tribute to him on Instagram after he passed.
Willie "Jay" Lee Webb (February 12, 1937 – July 31, 1996)
Willie Lee Webb, called Jay Lee by his mom, was a famous country singer in his own right, just like his big sis Loretta. In fact, Jay Lee's most famous song was "I Come Home A-Drinkin' (To a Worn-Out Wife Like You)", which was written as a comeback to Loretta's 1967 number one hit "Don't Come Home A Drinkin'".
Jay Lee was married twice, first to Louise Davis from 1961 to 1963. Unfortunately, his first marriage was marked by tragedy and divorce. Louise gave birth to Jay Lee's first child, Yvonne Clara Webb, in February 1962, but in August 1962 Yvonne contracted tonsilitis and died a month later. Shortly after Louise filed for divorce.
Nearly a decade later Jay Lee finally met the love of his life while performing in Camden, Tennessee. He met Lou Anne Robinson and shortly after the two moved to Nashville together. They had two children together, John Ernest Webb and Claire Joanne Webb. Jay Lee left music behind and opened a drugstore. Lou Anne took up work as a secretary.
Unfortunately, Jay Lee, like his father and brother before him, left the world too soon. Jay Lee passed away from pancreatic cancer at the age of 59 in 1996.
Donald Ray Webb (April 2, 1941 – October 13, 2017)
Donald lived a quieter life than his more well-known siblings, though he was a songwriter in his own right. Donald's sister Gayle recorded a song he wrote, entitled, "Clock on the Wall," for the album I've Cried the Blue Right Out of My Eyes in 1978. (A fact that he was extremely proud of.) He was also an avid fisherman, loved playing and singing music (of course), and loved mushroom hunting.
Donald and his wife Debra made their home in Wabash, Indiana. They had four children together, Janie, Donna, Michael, and Paula. Donald was also a grandfather to ten and a great grandfather to nine!
Peggy Sue Wright (née Webb; born March 25, 1943)
Another one of the Webbs who took their talents to Nashville, Peggy Sue has released five country music albums: Dynamite!, All-American Husband, One Side, I Just Came in Here, and Gently Hold Me. Throughout the years she had several hits climb the country charts, peaking somewhere inside the Top 30 each time.
Peggy Sue married twice, first to Douglas Wells in 1964 (they divorced in 1968), and then to music producer and performer Sonny Wright. Peggy had one daughter from her first marriage, Doyletta Gayle. Tragically, Doyletta was murdered by her husband on February 22, 1991.
These days Peggy Sue does background vocals for her sister Crystal Gayle, though sometimes the two duet together. They've also been known to perform with Loretta from time to time for a concert at Lynn's Hurricane Mills, Tennessee ranch.
Betty Ruth Hopkins (née Webb; born 1946)
Not much is known about Betty, Loretta Lynn's second-youngest sister, who prefers to stay out of the spotlight. Loretta did name her oldest daughter Betty Sue after Betty, though.
Crystal Gayle (born Brenda Gail Webb; January 9, 1951)
In any other family, Crystal Gayle would be a superstar. Well,s he still is, but when you've got an entertainer of the year in the family, it's not easy to take the spotlight. Crystal was born after the family had moved to Wabash, Indiana for their father's failing health, so she didn't grow up in the famous Coal Miner's Daughter cabin.
Regardless, Crystal built herself quite a life and career. She has a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame and was inducted into the Grand Ole Opry, just like her older sister, in 2017. She's won a Grammy award, multiple American Music Awards, and was ranked by Rolling Stone as one of the hundred greatest country stars of all time.
Her biggest hits include "Ready for the Times to Get Better" (1977), "Talking in Your Sleep" (1978), "Half the Way" (1979), and "You and I" (1982).
Really, she's too big to be a footnote in someone else's article. Go read about her here!
Crystal married Bill Gatzimos in 1971 while she was in high school and the two have been together ever since. They have two (now adult) kids, daughter Catherine and son Christos. Christos is now a record producer in his own right and produced Crystal's 2019 album.

Pete Maravich's LSU Career Will Never Be Topped
Pistol Pete Maravich lived and breathed basketball from an early age. It was only natural. His father, Press Maravich, had devoted his life to the game as a coach and intended to pass that devotion to his son.
Pistol Pete's legend began in 1966 when his father accepted the head coaching job at Louisiana State University of the Southeastern Conference, and his son followed.
The Pistol joined LSU's varsity team as a sophomore when averaged 43.8 points and grabbed 7.5 rebounds per game. Maravich's play helped the LSU Tigers improve to a 14-12 record after going 3-23 the previous year.
Pete didn't slow down as a junior, upping his scoring average to 44.2 points while snatching 6.5 rebounds and dishing 4.9 assists per game.
The First-Team All-American's senior year was his best. He improved to 44.5 points and 6.2 assists per game, the most of his career. His career-high 69 points came against Alabama, along with a 64-point performance against Kentucky. He broke the NCAA Division I single-game record for most free throws in a game, making 30-of-31 attempts against Oregon State.
The Tigers went 22-10 that year. He was named College Player of the Year and won the Naismith Award as the best college basketball player in the country.
Although the LSU basketball team never reached the NCAA Tournament during Maravich's tenure, but they were much better due to hit 43.8 shooting percentage during his career.
Pete left college as the all-time leading scorer in college basketball history, totaling 3,667 points with a scoring record of 44.2 points per game. He owns multiple NCAA records, including field goals made and attempted and 50 point games in a season and career, all of which still stand. It's estimated Maravich would've averaged 57 points per game with the three-point line. Absurd.
Pete entered the NBA draft and was selected third overall by the Atlanta Hawks. He enjoyed a 10-year career—averaging 24.2 points per game—with the Hawks, New Orleans Jazz (later Utah Jazz), and Boston Celtics. Pistol Pete was a five-time NBA All-Star and was named one of the 50 Greatest Players in NBA History in 1996.
Pete Maravich is the greatest scorer college basketball has seen. His ball-handling wizardry, shooting ability, and baggy socks are cemented in the sport's lore. The Pete Maravich Assembly Center in Baton Rouge now bears his name as a reminder of how incredible he truly was.

Newly Introduced Fishing Gear for This Season and Beyond
Each and every season, the new fishing gear that rolls out seems to get more and more endless. The levels of new fishing rods, fishing kayaks, moisture-wicking apparel, waders, pliers, and anything angling-centric have reached new heights.
We would typically spend a portion of our early summer attending ICAST, the biggest fishing trade show there is, but the year 2020 had other plans. The conference went virtual, and we got some inside scoops on a lot of new stuff, including info on new products from Abu Garcia, Berkley, AFTCO, PENN, and Smith, just to name a few.
Whether you're in the market for a new baitcasting or spinning reel, dying to get your hands on the latest fishing tackle, or shopping around for a trolling motor, the selection of gear specifically for anglers has never been so vast.
We highlight a next generation hoody, some new carbon fiber rods, a co-polymer fluorocarbon fishing line, and even a unique kind of sun protection you probably haven't seen before.
This just scratches the surface of all the new fishing gear that hits shelves soon, so sit back and pick your favorites, and be sure to read more in the fishing section of WideOpenSpaces.com.

Maya Sieber: Where Is the “Ice Road Truckers” Star Today?
You may have seen Maya Sieber when she made her television debut in the fifth season of the History Channel reality tv show, Ice Road Truckers. This die hard truck driver proved she loved the challenge while navigating through the dangerous icy roads of Alaska.
Originally from New York City, She's been working around trucks since she was only 8 years old. She started off as a model before jumping into her own career in the trucking industry. Once she obtained her commercial license, she gained experience fast as she navigated through the narrow and busy streets of New York. She spent 3 years driving prior to being on boarded to the popular show. But what has this talented trucker been up to since her time on the reality show ended?
Well, you'll be glad to hear that Sieber hasn't walked away from the big rigs yet. She's still embracing her career as a professional truck driver. This chick has a Kenworth Trucks tattoo on the back of her neck, so it's safe to assume she's pretty dedicated to this line of work. Following her appearances on Ice Road Truckers, she decided to get away from all the snow and resume work for the family business, Pyskaty Bros, based out of New Jersey. Today, she can be seen putting her beautiful custom Peterbilt 379 to work.
Maya Sieber may have a pretty busy schedule with trucking, but she's also managed to fit in a few side projects as well. She recently stared in a music video for country rock star Jayne Denham's song, Black Coffee and White Lines. Denham wrote this song around 13 years ago, and recruited not only Sieber, but two other Ice Road Trucker stars as well; Carey Hall, and Lisa Kelly. The result was an awesome video that showcased the trucks and the truck drivers in Alaska before the song starts.
It's awesome to see this girl still hard at work out there. Judging by her Instagram, her 379 is definitely her pride and joy. I can't blame her, the truck is absolutely gorgeous and it would be a pleasure to be able to drive it on a daily basis. We wish this trucker the best of luck out there on the road as she continues to live out her childhood dream.

This is the Crossbreed Reckoning, and it's got to be the most innovative combination of Old World craftsmanship and New World attributes we've ever seen in a gun holster.

There are multiple points of retention adjustment, meaning you can customize the Reckoning holster in unparalleled ways. NASCAR Legends Steal the Show in Classic "Stroker Ace" Scene
Stroker Ace is one of those movies that was an absolute flop by Hollywood standards, but has since developed a cult following, particularly with NASCAR fans. Starring Burt Reynolds as fictional NASCAR driver Stroker Ace, the 1983 comedy featured several classic cameos from actual stock car racing legends.
In one especially epic scene, Dale Earnhardt Sr., Kyle Petty, and Ricky Rudd engage in a little bit of table-racing tomfoolery along with Stroker’s rival Aubrey James (played by Parker Stevenson). At one point, Dale Sr. — the Intimidator himself — actually gets a line of dialogue in the form of a well-placed zinger “You never could drive anyway, James. It’s always the equipment.” What a burn!
As the cherry on top of the brief but awesome scene, Stroker comes in at the end to give his rival a little push in the wrong direction. Talk about making a splash!
Based on the 1973 novel Stand On It by William Neely and Robert K. Ottum, Stroker Ace co-stars Ned Beatty, Jim Nabors, Loni Anderson, and Bubba Smith. Filmed in North Carolina and Georgia at Charlotte Motor Speedway, Talladega Superspeedway, and the Atlanta Motor Speedway, the movie also featured cameos from such race car drivers as Harry Gant, Cale Yarborough, Neil Bonnett, Terry Labonte, Benny Parsons, Tim Richmond. Interesting enough, they’re all listed as simply “NASCAR drivers” in the film’s credits. Even Richard Petty was featured in an uncredited role as himself.
For all you fans of Southern rock and country music out there, The Charlie Daniels Band were the musicians behind the intro song, simply called “Stroker’s Theme.”
It’s no “The Devil Went Down to Georgia,” but it’s still pretty damn catchy. In fact, it may be one of the best parts of the entire movie. Sorry, Burt!

Why Julie Andrews Thanked Jack Warner for Not Casting Her In ‘My Fair Lady’
Julie Andrews is a beacon of kindness, gentility, and class. Every film she stars in truly feels like she is gracing us with her presence and skill. With the same grace, she took low points in life and turned them into winning lessons. One of those moments was when she was denied the starring role in the "My Fair Lady" film. After making her debut on Broadway at the age of 18, she auditioned for the musical adaptation of “Pygmalion” called “My Fair Lady”. At just nineteen years old she landed the role of Eliza Doolittle and worked on the show for over three years. When Jack Warner attained the rights to make My Fair Lady into a film, it was a shock when he picked someone else to play her part. The role went to Audrey Hepburn. Jack Warner later told her that, “I so wanted you to do it, Julie, but they wanted a name.” As it goes in Hollywood.
Andrews accepted another play on Broadway, Alan Jay Lerner and Frederick Loewe's original Broadway production of "Camelot," and let Audrey Hepburn play her role on the big screen. She’d been told from her early teen years that she wasn’t attractive enough for the big screen. So, she was surprised when Walt Disney came backstage at "Camelot" and asked if she wanted a part in his adaptation of “Mary Poppins”, originally by P.L. Travers. She turned down the role since she was three months pregnant. Disney told her they would wait for her to play the role and hired her husband, Tony Walton, a set and costume designer.
In 1964, the film version of Mary Poppins was released. It was both the first time Julie Andrews acted in a film and was the most successful movie of the year. She was awarded a Golden Globe for the year’s Best Actress in a Musical or Comedy. In her acceptance speech, she ended it with a final offer of thanks to Mr. Jack Warner because he “made this all possible.” Later Andrews was nominated for best actress for "Mary Poppins," but Audrey, in "My Fair Lady" was not.

The Difference Between Soul Food and Southern Food
Cornbread, fried chicken, black-eyed peas, yams, macaroni and cheese and collard greens cooked iwht ham hocks are indistinguishable ingredients found in soul food. Food of the Deep South, the term soul food was first introduced in print during the 1960s during the rise of the civil rights marches and Black nationalist movements. But what makes soul food different than Southern food?
African Americans arrived in America as slaves where they were given limited food rations by their masters. Typically rations such as cornmeal, lard, molasses, peas, greens, flour, and some kind of meat, were distributed every Saturday. From these ingredients came classic recipes such as fried chitlins, bbq, cornbread, fried fish, and cooked okra. It was a cooking culture that came to fruition out of necessity and the limits that were put on enslaved African Americans.
Once slavery was abolished, the Great Migration brought soul food and southern cuisine to the North and West. Not all Southern food is soul food, but all soul food is Southern food. In fact, Southern food is the mother of soul food. It's comfort food at its core, with entrees and side dishes inspired by the south and African descent. Home cooking soul food usually means cooking up anything from hush puppies and banana pudding to candied yams and sweet potato pie. Let's not forget the chitterlings and grits!

Johnny Manziel’s Net Worth Isn’t Exactly What You’d Expect
Born to Michelle Manziel and Paul Manziel in Tyler, Texas, Johnathan Paul Manziel developed into a star quarterback at Tivy High School. Manziel originally committed to Oregon after receiving interest from schools across the United States, but he flipped to Texas A&M University, where his legend began.
Love him or hate him, Johnny Manziel is one of the greatest college football quarterbacks of all time. His record-setting time at Texas A&M University Aggies was one for the ages, as he became the first freshman in NCAA history to win the Heisman Trophy award.
The legend of Johnny Football was born when he dismantled Nick Saban's top-ranked Alabama Crimson Tide in 2012. He won numerous awards like the Davey O'Brien National Quarterback Award, the Manning Award, SEC Offensive Player of the Year and was consensus First-Team All-American.
Offseason incidents such as lawsuits, bar fights and partying overshadowed the football player's gridiron abilities, however, and maybe hindered his play on the field.
That didn't stop the Cleveland Browns from selecting Manziel in the first round (22nd overall pick) in the 2014 NFL Draft. However, the former Aggie started just eight games in two years before being cut. Most of Manziel's career earnings were with the Browns after signing a four-year rookie contract worth $8.247 million in 2014 that included a $4.318 million signing bonus — However, he lost out on as much as $2 million in guaranteed money because the Browns voided that sum before cutting him.
Manziel turned his attention to the Canadian Football League (CFL) and signed with the Hamilton Tiger-Cats a contract that included a base salary of $120,000. Before playing a snap for the Tiger-Cats, he was traded to the Montreal Alouettes. He threw four interceptions in his CFL debut and finished the season posting five touchdowns and seven interceptions in eight games.
The CFL cut ties with him after the season and barred him from signing with other teams for failing to meet expectations of his contract. He reportedly didn't attend weekly meetings and failed to see a doctor like they required.
In the Alliance of American Football (AAF), Manziel's contract with the Memphis Express were never reported. The league, of course, ran out of money which meant some players didn't get paid for some games.
Manziel signed a multi-year deal with Nike in 2014 but was dropped by the brand sometime after the 2015 season. He also signed deals with Panini America, Nissan, MusclePharm, Snickers and McDonald's.
The Aggie legend comes from a wealthy family -- Manziel's grandfather, Bobby Joe Manziel, made out well in the oil industry -- so he may receive help from them when or if he needs it.
Still, Johnny Manziel's net worth is estimated in the $6 million range.

Famous Florida State Alumni
Florida State University is known for the iconic athletes the school's produced, but Tallahassee was home to tons of notable Seminoles you may remember, but have also forgotten.

Known best as the teacher in The Breakfast Club, Paul Gleason became a successful actor after attending Florida State and playing football for the Seminoles. Gleason enjoyed a short stint in minor league baseball.
