‘Forrest Gump’ Inspired Gary Sinise To Get Involved With Veterans
Actor Gary Sinise is widely known for his efforts with military members, using his platform to greatly and positively affect the lives of military veterans. Our beloved Lieutenant Dan Taylor truly is a pillar in the military community, with his role in Forrest Gump inspiring his involvement. It may seem obvious how that happened, but specifically, how did the movie Forrest Gump spark Sinise’s seemingly never-ceasing inspiration to help those in the military?
Forrest Gump star Gary Sinise told Entertainment Tonight the exact moment that kicked off his dedication to service for the next few decades. When the United States was hit with what happened in New York on September 11, 2001, Sinise recalled, “I remember going into the first hospital to visit a wounded soldier after September 11, and all he wanted to do was talk about Lt. Dan.”
This inspired him to start the Gary Sinise Foundation soon after in 2011, raising about $30 million a year for many different programs in the foundation to honor United States defenders, military veterans, first responders, their families, and those in need. But even before his encounter with that wounded soldier on that fateful day, Sinise was already getting involved with military foundations.
The DAV (Disable American Veterans charity) wanted to award him, only four weeks after his movie with Tom Hanks had been released, for “playing what they considered a catastrophically injured veteran in a positive way,” as he told Pickler & Ben. In June 2003, Sinise went on his first USO (United Service Organization) tour. After several USO tours in, he started bringing his band, the Lt. Dan band, overseas to entertain the troops.
He was already showing support at the National Memorial Day Concert on PBS, a broadcast honoring military families and veterans by bringing together the biggest names in Hollywood. For more than a decade, he and Criminal Minds star Joe Mantegna (known for his role as David Rossi), have hosted the event.
Sinise has completely owned his role as Lt. Dan, even decades after the release of Forrest Gump. When asked why by CNN in 2013, Sinise stated, “Lt. Dan is a part of my life in a way because I’m very devoted to our military, very devoted to making sure our veterans know we appreciate what they do. If they want to talk about Lt. Dan, that’s fine by me.”

Who Is Charles Barkley’s Unknown Wife?
Charles Wade Barkley is a one-of-a-kind personality. The former NBA player can crack jokes with the best of them alongside Shaquille O’Neal, Kenny Smith and Ernie Johnson Jr. on TNT’s Inside the NBA.
On the court, Sir Charles was a dominating presences for the Philadelphia 76ers, Phoenix Suns and Houston Rockets despite never winning an NBA Finals. The 1993 NBA MVP, 11-time NBA All-Star, two-time Olympic gold medalist and five-time All-NBA First Team power forward first became the “Round Mound of Rebound” at Alabama's Leeds High School and Auburn University before becoming the fifth overall pick in the 1984 NBA Draft.
Off the court, he had some serious swagger. He starred in Nike commercials, had his own line of shoes, acted in Space Jam with Bulls superstar Michael Jordan and even hooped head-to-head with Godzilla once. His eye-popping net worth is evidence of his influence as one of the more well-known players in NBA history.
Barkley’s life is well-documented, but not much is known about his personal life and family. He’s been married to the same woman since 1989 and had one kid with her. So who is Charles Barkley's wife?
Barkley's longtime wife is Maureen Blumhardt. She was born in 1960 and met her professional basketball player husband in the 1980s at Pennsylvania restaurant City Avenue, according to the Cheatsheet.
She was reportedly working as a legal aide at the time. Barkley, meanwhile, was becoming a basketball star on the 76ers in Philadelphia. The two tied the knot in 1989 and have been going strong ever since. If he's a jokester at home, I'm not sure how she's put up with him for so long.
The Barkleys reside in Scottsdale, Arizona.
According to records on the Maricopa County Property Appraiser website, they own a piece of property that is almost three acres big -- 106,013 square feet to be exact. It's worth nearly $2.8 million, according to the county's website, and was last bought in 1998 for $2 million.
A quick on Google Earth reveals the mansion comes tennis court, pool, guest house and even a putting green with a sand trap. Judging from the Basketball Hall-of-Fame member's golf swing, it looks like Chuck needs to hang out in the back yard a bit more.
Per Cheatsheet and Heavy.com, Maureen used to model back in the day. Cheatsheet reported that she promoted Noblerex K-1, a whole-body vibrating exercise machine, at one point. There's even video evidence on YouTube of the former model swearing by the machine.
Charles and wife Maureen Blumhardt have one child, a daughter named Christiana Barkley. Their only child graduated from Villanova University in Pennsylvania and attended the Columbia Journalism School. Maybe she's planning on entering the sports media business like her dad.
Barkley told USA Today in 2016 of her daughter's passionate fandom for Villanova basketball.
“My daughter was living and dying with every game for the last three weeks, so I was really more excited for her, to be honest with you… She’s been going to a Villanova bar in New York City every game,” the former NBA star said when Villanova won the national championship. “She didn’t even want to come to the game because she didn’t want to jinx the game."
Christiana and her mother have been involved with the Fresh Start Women's Foundation, an organization that "helps women 18 and up focus on key areas of their lives." Maureen is an honorary member of the organization and was spotted at one of its galas in 2016.
Other than that, there isn't a whole lot of info on Sir Charles' family. It's perfectly fine that he prefers to keep them out of the spotlight, too. I'm sure he wouldn't want them to the subject of any jokes from Shaq or on social media.

'Me and Bobby McGee': The Story Behind the Song
"Me and Bobby McGee" has become a rock classic over the years. Co-written by Kris Kristofferson and Fred Foster, this iconic song was first conceptualized with just a title -- inspired by a real person.
Foster had a bit of a crush on Barbara "Bobbie" McKee who was a secretary on Nashville's music row. When he pitched the title to Kristofferson, he misheard the name as "Me and Bobby McGee," and the name stuck. Kristofferson found inspiration for his lyrics from a film, as he explained to Performing Songwriter:
"There was a Mickey Newbury song that was going through my mind--'Why You Been Gone So Long?' It had a rhythm that I really liked. I started singing in that meter. For some reason, I thought of 'La Strada,' this Fellini film, and a scene where Anthony Quinn is going around on this motorcycle and Giulietta Masina is the feeble-minded girl with him, playing the trombone. He got to the point where he couldn't put up with her anymore and left her by the side of the road while she was sleeping," Kristofferson told Performing Songwriter. "Later in the film, he sees this woman hanging out the wash and singing the melody that the girl used to play on the trombone. He asks, 'Where did you hear that song?' And she tells him it was this little girl who had showed up in town, and nobody knew where she was from, and later she died. That night, Quinn goes to a bar and gets in a fight. He's drunk and ends up howling at the stars on the beach."
The emotional feeling at the end of the film dictated the lyrics and overall mood of the song. Kristofferson changed the details, mentioning California and Kentucky to focus on the American experience, but that same raw emotion is evident in the lyrics.
Due to the gender-neutral name of "Bobby" male and female artists gravitated to cover the song. It could tell a completely different story depending on who is singing it. In 1969, Roger Miller first recorded the song, which peaked at number 12 on the country charts. Miller's recording led to a huge influx of interest from other singers of all different genres.
Numerous artists including Gordon Lightfoot, Charley Pride and Kenny Rogers, covered the song before Janis Joplin's version, which was posthumously released on her 1971 album Pearl. "Me and Bobby McGee" became Joplin's only number one hit and is widely considered one of the greatest songs of all time.
The song has become a beloved classic, covered by over 50 artists over the years. From Dolly Parton and Johnny Cash to The Grateful Dead and Olivia Newton-John, the story of Bobby McGee has continued to live on in music history. We can't wait to see what new artists will breathe new life into "Me and Bobby McGee".
'Me and Bobby McGee' Lyrics
Busted flat in Baton Rouge, waitin' for a train
And I's feelin' near as faded as my jeans
Bobby thumbed a diesel down, just before it rained
It rode us all the way to New Orleans
I pulled my harpoon out of my dirty red bandanna
I was playin' soft while Bobby sang the blues, yeah
Windshield wipers slappin' time, I was holdin' Bobby's hand in mine
We sang every song that driver knew
Freedom's just another word for nothin' left to lose
Nothin', don't mean nothin' hon' if it ain't free, no no
And, feelin' good was easy, Lord, when he sang the blues
You know, feelin' good was good enough for me
Good enough for me and my Bobby McGee
From the Kentucky coal mine to the California sun
There Bobby shared the secrets of my soul
Through all kinds of weather, through everything we done
Yeah, Bobby baby kept me from the cold
One day up near Salinas, Lord, I let him slip away
He's lookin' for that home, and I hope he finds it
But, I'd trade all of my tomorrows, for a single yesterday
To be holdin' Bobby's body next to mine
Freedom's just another word for nothin' left to lose
Nothin', that's all that Bobby left me, yeah
But, feelin' good was easy, Lord, when he sang the blues
Hey, feelin' good was good enough for me, mm-hmm
Good enough for me and my Bobby McGee
La da da
La da da da
La da da da da da da da
La da da da da da da da
Bobby McGee, yeah
La da da da da da da
La da da da da da da
La da da da da da da
Bobby McGee, yeah
La da La la da da la da da la da da
La da da da da da da da da
Hey, my Bobby
Oh, my Bobby McGee, yeah
La la la la la la la la
La la la la la la la la la la la la la la la
Hey, my Bobby
Oh, my Bobby McGee, yeah
Well, I call him my lover, call him my man
I said, I call him my lover did the best I can, c'mon
Hey now, Bobby now
Hey now, Bobby McGee, yeah
Woo
La da, la da, la da, la da, la da, la da, la da, la la
Hey, hey, hey Bobby McGee, yeah
La da, la da, la da, la da, la da, la da, la da, la
Hey, hey, hey, Bobby McGee, yeah

Tom Selleck and His Wife Jillie Mack Have Been Married For More Than 30 Years
While many people in the entertainment industry find their forever partners working together or being introduced at an event, Tom Selleck and his wife Jillie Joan Mack’s introductionwas little different. He saw her performing in the musical Cats while he was filming Lassiter in London. The performance wowed him so much that just had to meet her. After seeing the show a dozen times they finally went on a dinner date. It was what some might call a whirlwind romance, and when Selleck was moved to Hawaii to film Magnum P.I., she moved with him. They were inseparable and secretly wed in 1987 in Lake Tahoe, Nevada, with secret names “Suzie Mark and Tom Jenkins.” Their first child was born a year after that. He then took some time off of work to raise his family. He quit Magnum P.I. and moved to a 65-acre ranch in Ventura County, California, to be with his family. And, today, their marriage of over 30 years is still going strong.
Jillie Joan Mack is a dancer and actress from Wiltshire, England. While in Hawaii, she worked on Magnum P.I. as an English girl in a party scene. Her other roles, according to IMDB, are in the T.V. movie Silverfox and appearances on the show Fraiser.
Jillie Joan Mack and Tom Selleck have one child together: Hannah Selleck. They thought the ranch was the “best environment for [Hannah] to grow up.” She has since become an equestrian success, regularly competing since she was 14 years old. She has earned top-five medals from Switzerland, The Netherlands, Belgium, St. Moritz, as well as the Canadian Pacific Grand Prix. Today she lives in Los Angeles, but outside the lights of the Hollywood lifestyle. She is focused on competitions and training the horses she breeds at her Thousand Oaks farm. She and her father have a horse breeding business, Descanso Farm, not far from the ranch where she was raised.
Before he married Jillie Joan Mack, the mustachioed legend of screens both big and small was married to Jacqueline Ray in 1971. Their union only lasted about ten years. The Blue Bloods star and his first wife adopted Kevin. Kevin, like his father, has worked in entertainment, though not in Hollywood. However, he did appear in an episode of Magnum, P.I. Kevin was in a band called Tonic, where he was the drummer. He left the band, however, when they began to quarrel after seeing some success. While many people in the entertainment industry find their forever partners working together or being introduced at an event, Tom Selleck and his wife Jillie Joan Mack’s introductionwas little different. Jolene Van Vugt: The Former Nitro Circus Star Is a Hollywood Stuntwoman
Jolene Van Vugt is definitely one of the toughest and most talented women out there on two wheels. She is most known for her stunt videos and appearances as the to join the Nitro Circus crew, but she proved her talent even before she teamed up with Travis Pastrana in 2005. At the age of 14, Jolene decided to take her women's motocross career more seriously. She's won multiple championships and even became the first CMRC Women's Canadian Motocross National Champion.
Jolene was born in Ontario, Canada, and since her motocross career began, she was determined to create a successful career out of the sport. I'd say she's done just that. Surprisingly, she decided to part ways with Nitro Circus in 2016 and has transitioned into her new career as a Hollywood stuntwoman. There's a pretty crazy story behind it, so let's take a look at what happened and where this former nitro girl is today.
When she came on board with the Nitro Circus TV show, she shifted away from being a racer and focused more on freestyle motocross (fmx). With some help from Travis Pastrana, she became the first woman to do a backflip on a full sized dirt bike. She spend a total of 11 years with the crew, and became a holder of multiple Guinness world records in the process. She became an icon for American and Canadian women throughout the action sports community. She had tons of great times, but everything changed for her during 2015.
Jolene Van Vugt was testing a new winch system which would replace the 50-foot drop in ramp. While doing so, she sat in a big whiskey barrel on wheels and prepared for takeoff. As the winch threw her forward, she let go of the rope and began to veer off course. Since she was in the barrel, she couldn't do anything but brace for impact as her right arm collides with the scaffolding, and slams her face into a nearby pole before crashing onto the concrete. Jolene was seriously injured by the stunt, shattering her forehead, jaw, nose, eye socket, and right arm. There is actually a video out there of the crash, but Jolene says she refuses to watch it. You might think that the brutal injuries sustained were what made her decide to walk away from Nitro Circus, but that wasn't the case.
After tons of recovery time, and multiple surgeries, she claimed she was ready to get back to work with the circus. Now, Nitro Circus had been showing her crash video at many different events, but Jolene did not support that and she made it known. She claimed she didn't want to see the video shown anymore and begged Nitro Circus CEO, Mike Porra, to pull it. Porra explains to Jolene that they own the video and they refused to stop using it. Because of that, Jolene states she "felt violated" by the constant remembrance of the brutal crash. After trying countless times to change their minds with no success, Jolene decided to walk away from the team in an attempt to gain more control of her life.
Since leaving, Jolene started a new career as a stuntwoman, which was something she fantasized about doing since she was a child. She's been involved in different films like the Dark Knight Rises, where she was used as the stuntwoman for Anne Hathaway's Catwoman. She was also featured in the season 2 premier on NBC's Blindspot, in which she was the stuntwoman for a motorcycle chase. Film directors and movie writers are blown away by the talent that she has on two wheels, and often add more action scenes into the movie once they see what she is capable of.
It's awesome to see Jolene follow her heart and leave the Nitro Circus crew. Although it was extremely hard for her and a huge part of her life, once she started to land jobs in Hollywood, everything started to line up once again. She took what she learned from her action sports career, and applied it into a completely different industry. I completely understand her choice to leave, and look forward to the action she'll bring in future Hollywood films.

Stay at the Real Dutton Ranch from 'Yellowstone' in Darby, Montana
The Paramount Network TV series Yellowstone, starring Kevin Costner as John Dutton, Luke Grimes as Kayce Dutton, Kelly Reilly as Beth Dutton, Wes Bentley as Jamie Dutton, and Cole Hauser as Rip Wheeler follows the Dutton family, who owns the largest contiguous ranch in the United States. The show is about the Dutton ranch's fight to keep its borders intact come hell or high water as a Native American Indian Reservation, land developers, rival ranching families, and Yellowstone National Park all try to encroach onto the land.
The hit modern western has a star-studded cast and has been airing for three seasons, but here are some things you probably didn't know about the show.
It Streams for For Free
Yellowstone is not available on Netflix or Hulu, however, you can stream the entire first season on the Paramount Network website for free. The second season and third season can be purchased on Amazon Prime. A fourth season has been ordered but has not yet aired.
Its Network Has Identity Issues
The drama series airs on the Paramount Network, which has gone through several iterations as a channel. From 1983 to 2000 it was called The Nashville Network (or TNN). From 2000 to 2001 it was rebranded to The National Network. From 2001 to 2003 it was called "The New TNN". In 2003 the network rebranded as Spike TV and pivoted from country themed TV shows to men's programming. In 2006 the network dropped the "TV" from its name and became known simply as Spike. Then, finally, someone in Hollywood came to their senses and, in 2018, the network became known as The Paramount Network.
The Show Shoots in Several States -- and NOT Wyoming
Though the Paramount Network show takes place in Montana it is shot in both Montana and Utah. Some shooting locations include Park City, Utah, the Chief Joseph Ranch in Montana, and Darby, Montana according to IMDb.
Its Stars Have Worked Together Before
Prior to appearing together in Yellowstone, Wes Bentley and Danny Huston previously appeared together in season four of American Horror Story.
Dave Annabel and Luke Grimes, who plays Kayce Dutton on the show, also previously appeared together in the show Brothers and Sisters.
Meanwhile, Yellowstone lead and Oscar-winner Kevin Costner, who plays John Dutton on the show, and Ian Bohen had already done another western together. They both appeared in the 1994 film Wyatt Earp. Not only that, but they played the same character. Costner was the titular lead in the film while Bohen played the younger version of Wyatt Earp.
They Have Super Hero Alums
Both Danny Huston and Kevin Costner have been in DC Universe superhero movies. Danny Huston appeared as the antagonist in the first Wonder Woman film while Kevin Costner played Superman's adoptive father, Jonathan Kent, in Man of Steel.

Iguana Hunting in Florida with Air Rifles! | Allie D'Andrea | Wide Open Spaces
Outdoors Allie went on this incredible iguana hunting trip to Florida, and the video she shared depicting the adventure is second to none. Though you'd expect to see alligators in Florida, the invasive species of green iguanas are almost more common. They have no natural predators, and have become a significant problem for the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission. Allie opted for air rifles, which is becoming more and more popular. The FWC allows for it, and Allie was pretty pumped to give it a shot, literally.

Carrie Underwood and Mike Fisher: A Music City Love Story
How does someone get lucky enough to marry an American Idol winner and country music royalty like Carrie Underwood? Oh, you know, just be a super handsome professional athlete, is all. Is being a hockey player hard to do?
Underwood and her husband, Nashville Predators star and Canada native Mike Fisher, might seem like an odd couple at first (hockey and country music aren't exactly a natural pairing) but once you see them and hear their love story it's obvious the two belong together.
Underwood and Fisher met in late 2008 backstage at one of her concerts. Fisher was a friend of Underwood's bass player Mark Childers, who'd been trying to set up the two for a while (though Underwood says she wasn't interested). God had other plans, though. Once Underwood met the then-Ottawa Senators player, however, she pretty much immediately changed her mind about him. (His jawline will do that.)
However, dating wasn't easy. Both Underwood and Fisher had busy schedules. The Cry Pretty singer and the hockey player had to do things long distance for a while. They talked on the phone regularly before finally meeting up again and sharing their first kiss on New Year's Eve in Times Square as the ball dropped. So basically the most romantic first kiss ever. Underwood even made the first move! According to her, Fisher isn't a big PDA guy, so she figured she should initiate things.
By December 2009 the couple was engaged. (Not surprising that Fisher wanted to lock her down). on July 10, 2010, at the Ritz-Carlton resort on Lake Oconee, Georgia, the couple got married. For a while, the couple split time between living in Nashville, Tennessee and Ontario, Canada. They admitted it wasn't easy but then, through some good fortune, Fisher was traded to the Nashville Predators of all teams.
In 2015 the couple welcomed their first child, Isaiah Michael Fisher, into the world. The baby boy is now four years old and likes to come on stage with his mom at concerts. Then, on January 21st, 2019, Isaiah became a big brother when the country singer and her husband were blessed again with a second son, Jacob Bryan Fisher.
With a big family, a handsome and successful husband, and an incredible career as a country music icon, things are looking pretty good for Carrie Underwood's family.

The name "Graceland" will forever be associated with Elvis, but the King didn't actually name the property. The mansion was named by the family who originally owned the property, The Moores. Presley purchased Graceland from Mrs. Ruth Brown Moore, who named the property after her aunt, Grace Toof.
Elvis Ran a $500 a Week Grocery Bill
We all know about the King's love of fried peanut butter and banana sandwiches, but People reports that the superstar also required his pantry and fridge to be stocked with. Among the items Elvis required at all times: a case of Pepsi, six cans of biscuits and sauerkraut.
The Upstairs is Forbidden to the Public
Though much of the 17,500 square-foot Graceland property is open to the public, there is one portion that isn't. The master suite on the second floor is blocked from visitors. In fact, only Priscilla and Lisa Marie Presley and the Graceland curator are allowed in. It was in the bathroom of the second floor suite that Presley's body was found after his death on Aug. 16, 1977.
Bruce Springsteen Once Trespassed There
The Boss is a huge fan of The King and one night in 1976, Springsteen set out to meet his idol by hopping the Graceland fence. The rocker's efforts were thwarted by security. It turns out that Elvis wasn't even home that night.

Every January, thousands of Elvis fans make the trek to Graceland to celebrate The King's birthday with four days of events. If you're one of the many planning to honor the American legend with a trip to his Memphis, Tennessee abode, study up on the iconic Southern mansion with this list of things you may not have known about Elvis Presley's Graceland.
8. Elvis Bought the Mansion When He Was Only 22
The King purchased Graceland in 1957 for $102,500, which equals about $900,000 in today's money.
7. It's Second Only to the White House

Presley added several features to the property, including a swimming pool in 1957.

2. Graceland Was (and is) a Family Affair
Elvis loved having his family close by -- so close that he moved his parents and grandparents into Graceland with him. His parents, Vernon and Gladys, and paternal grandmother, Minnie Mae Presley, moved in while Presley was filming the 1957 film Jailhouse Rock.
To this day, tributes to Presley's family can be found all around Graceland. Visitors can see the King's planes, one of which is named for his daughter Lisa Marie, and visit a memorial marker for Presley's twin brother Jesse Garon Presley, who died at birth. (Jesse Garon Presley is buried in Tupelo, Mississippi.)
Graceland's Meditation Garden is the final resting place for Elvis, along with his parents and grandmother.
1. Elvis Made His Final Recordings in the Jungle Room
Arguably the most captivating room in Graceland, the Jungle Room was where Elvis really let his decorative taste go wild. The kitschy den, featuring green shag carpet, plastic plants, wood paneling and tiki-inspired decor, was where the King spent much of his time.
By the mid-1970s, Presley's career had stalled and his interest in recording had wavered. So RCA did what they could to entice the superstar: they turned his beloved Jungle Room into a makeshift recording studio. In the comfort of his own home, Presley recorded his final musical output, which included a cover of George Jones' "She Thinks I Still Care."
Several of the recordings were released on the albums Elvis Presley Boulevard, Memphis, Tennessee (1976), Moody Blue (1977) and Elvis: Way Down in the Jungle Room, a two-disc set released in 2016.

The Beatles Iconic Debut on ‘The Ed Sullivan Show’ in 1964 Won the Hearts of Americans
It’s safe to say The Beatles quickly became a worldwide sensation the minute they set foot in the United States. Back in 1964, nearly 73 million people were watching when they made their iconic first appearance on American television on The Ed Sullivan Show and took over music forever. Paul McCartney, John Lennon, Ringo Starr, and George Harrison arrived fresh from Liverpool, England, and kicked off the first of three Sunday night appearances on The Ed Sullivan Show on February 9, 1964. The group had already hit number one on the U.S. charts, so the anticipation surrounding their arrival hadn’t been seen around The Ed Sullivan Show since Elvis Presley’s performance in 1956.
The fab four landed at New York’s JFK airport on February 7th, as they were met by screaming fans and reporters begging for autographs. Which is why the Beatles would spend the next two days hidden inside the Plaza Hotel as fans tried to sneak in to catch a glimpse of the band. Footage was captured of the rock and roll group being surrounded by screaming crowds and national television audiences eagerly watched the first show, as they walked out and sang five songs over to set.
At 8 p.m. on February 9, 1964, history was changed forever thanks to the British invasion of the quartet. At Studio 50 in New York, The Beatles opened their first live performance set with the all-time favorite song All My Loving, Till There Was You, and She Loves You. Later in the show, the band returned to play I Saw Her Standing There and ended up with their number one hits I Want to Hold Your Hand. All of the songs except She Loves You would appear on the group’s first album for Capitol Records. During their set, each member was captured by live television cameras with their names as a caption on the screen. There was even a hilarious moment when the cameras arrived on John Lennon and an extra caption read, “Sorry girls, he’s married.”
Sullivan had seen the excitement around the Beatles when he first visited England during the summer of 1963. Later that year he reportedly met the group’s manager, Brian Epstein, in New York City. Sullivan had agreed to pay the group $10,000 to appear with top billing. If you’re wondering, that would be just over $80,000 today. Taking things to the next level, Epstein agreed the group would appear a total of three times. Because well, three is better than one. More than 1/3 of America’s population witnessed music history that night, and 728 lucky individuals got to see it all go down as part of the show’s audience. The CBS’ studios had reportedly received a record-setting 50,000 requests for tickets to the show. As Paul McCartney remembers, he told Anthology that “Seventy-three million people were reported to have watched the first show. It is still supposed to be one of the largest viewing audiences ever in the States.”

Dabo Swinney Married His Elementary School Sweetheart
When it comes to college football, the Clemson Tigers are the cream of the crop. Head coach Dabo Swinney consistently has his teams playing in the College Football Playoff National Championship Game and locking up some of the nation’s top recruits. Life is good, no doubt, and his home life makes it all possible.
Behind every great man is a great woman, and perhaps nobody understands that better than Swinney. He and wife Kathleen Swinney have been through it all together — literally. The two met when they were elementary school in Birmingham, Alabama, started dating in high school, went to college together, and have been side-by-side ever since.
It’s rather rare to find couples who have liked each other since those early, early days, and that’s part of what makes the Swinney family so special.
Before Clemson football coach Dabo Swinney became the highest-paid NCAA coach in the country, and Kathleen was dubbed the de facto First Lady, the two grew up together in Alabama.
Dabo was in second grade and Kathleen — then Kathleen Bassett — in first grade when they met, according to The Post and Courier, and the rest is history.
Both of them attended Pelham High School, where they first dated. Both earned their Master’s degree from the University of Alabama. Both love football (Dabo even walked on to play wide receiver for the Crimson Tide). Both love each other. It’s a perfect match all the way around, and it’s led to some incredible memories.
"We always kind of liked each other, and when I was old enough to date in high school, we did," Kathleen Swinney told The Greenville News.
It hasn’t all been easy, though. The couple ate Spaghetti O’s every night when they were newly weds as Dabo began his path to coaching greatness.
Kathleen is a breast cancer survivor, according to The Post and Courier, and runs the family’s All In Team Foundation, which raises awareness and money for multiple organizations, including breast cancer research.
Dabo Swinney was a graduate assistant at Alabama under Gene Stallings for a couple of years before leading the Tide’s wide receivers and tight ends until 2000. He was then fired from his position after Mike DeBose was kicked off town, leaving Swinney without a job.
It wasn’t until Tommy Bowden, who knew Swinney from his days at Alabama, offered him the wide receivers coach position at Clemson University for the 2003. He has been in South Carolina ever since.
From receivers coach to assistant head coach to offensive coordinator to interim head coach to being the full-time leader and head football coach of the Tigers’ program, Swinney has endured a lot and made a name for himself as a college football coach.
Swinney has won two national titles, six ACC championships, and is a two-time ACC Coach of the Year. Clemson consistently churns out NFL football players, too.
Most importantly, Kathleen has been right there with him.
Dabo and Kathleen Swinney have three children. Will Swinney is a senior wide receiver on the Clemson football team. Drew Swinney is a sophomore and a fellow walk-on receiver with the football program. Clay Swinney is in high school.
Will and Drew were on the Tigers team that lost to LSU in the national title game on ESPN.
Clemson Athletics is in good hands with Dabo Swinney. Kathleen deserves a lot of credit for that, too.

Danica Patrick Made History at the 2013 Daytona 500
For 60 years, the Daytona 500 has not only been a defining race in the sport of NASCAR, but has also gone on to reach lasting significance in the sports world as a whole. One of the many moments that come to mind is Danica Patrick’s historic finish at the 2013 Daytona 500.

Read More:

Even though Danica Patrick’s NASCAR career is behind her, we’re sure that the former race car driver frequently looks back on that moment at Daytona Beach with an immense amount of pride.

The Holiday's Aren't Complete Without a Bacon Wrapped Turkey
What if we told you that turkey could be even more delicious this year? This year, the way to enjoy your turkey is by wrapping it in an indulgent layer of crispy bacon. Wow your guests this year with a flavorful Bacon-wrapped turkey.
This bacon-wrapped turkey recipe will revolutionize your Thanksgiving meal! As much as we all love turkey, it does have a tendency to be on the drier side at times. This bacon adds the flavor and crispiness to make this bacon-wrapped turkey the tastiest Thanksgiving turkey you've ever had.
First, preheat your oven temperature to 375°. Chop your onion, then rinse your fresh turkey with cold water and pat dry with paper towels. Stuff the turkey's cavity with thyme, rosemary, and apple, then tie legs together with twine and tuck in the wings.
Melt butter, and combine with seasonings in a medium bowl, stirring until fully mixed. Brush turkey with herb butter mixture, covering the whole turkey. If you want, you can use a turkey breast in place of a whole roast turkey. A Bacon-wrapped turkey breast is sure to get some oohs and ahhs!
Place turkey in a roasting pan, and then place strips of bacon on turkey. Weave slices of bacon together until you've created a fully covered bacon-wrapped turkey!
Bake for 3 hours, or until an instant-read thermometer inserted into the turkey's thigh is 165°. If you prefer to baste your turkey, do so about every 20 minutes throughout cooking time to ensure juicy, moist turkey meat. Check bacon-wrapped turkey after 2 hours and cover with foil if bacon is getting too dark.
Once finished cooking, let your bacon wrapped turkey rest at room temperature until cooled enough to eat. Carve turkey on a turkey cutting board, with a juice groove to collect excess liquids. Then enjoy this crispy, delicious Thanksgiving meal!
