San Diego Deputy Shoots Man Armed With a Scoped Rifle
* (Disclaimer: This video content is intended for educational and informational purposes only) *
Fallbrook, California — On Friday, April 21, 2023, at approximately 1:01 a.m., the San Diego Sheriff’s Department Communications Center received a call from a female who reported her husband was despondent and threatening suicide at a residence located in the 4900 block of White Lilac Road in Fallbrook. The female reported her husband had made suicidal threats, and earlier in the day she hid a firearm from her husband who had threatened to kill himself with it. Deputies from the San Diego Sheriff’s Fallbrook Station were dispatched to the couple’s residence. As deputies drove to the call, the female reported the male had another firearm and locked himself in a bedroom. She additionally reported there were children in the residence. Upon arriving, deputies contacted the female outside her residence and she confirmed her husband had access to a rifle and a handgun. The deputies were in the process of gathering information when the female’s husband came out from behind the residence and was armed with a scoped rifle.
Both deputies began to give the male commands. However, the male continued to advance towards the deputies and his wife as he pointed the rifle towards them. At this point, one deputy fired his department issued rifle multiple times, striking the suspect in the leg and lower body. This incapacitated the suspect, and the suspect dropped the rifle. The deputies were able to call for assistance from other deputies and paramedics. Shortly afterwards, they took the suspect into custody and carried him to a nearby ambulance so medics could provide immediate medical care. The suspect was taken to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. Neither the deputies nor the children were injured during this incident. The female sustained minor injuries that did not require further medical care. The suspect in this case has been identified as 41-year-old Jorge Alberto Sandoval of Fallbrook. Sandoval was arrested for Brandishing a Firearm in the Presence of a Peace Officer and Spousal Abuse. The deputy involved in the shooting was identified as Evan McCormick, a 15-year veteran of the department.

Bodycam Footage of Chaotic Standoff in Albuquerque, New Mexico
* (Disclaimer: This video content is intended for educational and informational purposes only) *
Albuquerque, New Mexico — On March 29, 2023, around 6:30 p.m. Albuquerque Police got a call about a dispute in the area of the 4700 block of Glendale Rd NW. Police said no officers were immediately available but then a neighbor reported Macias was shooting a gun, leading police to upgrade the priority of the call and respond by 7:00 p.m. That man has been identified as 32-year-old Francisco Macias. According to the police, Macias was high on narcotics when he reportedly assaulted his mom and aunt inside a home in southwest Albuquerque, just moments before firing his gun outside. Once on scene Officers found an armed Macias with two friends in a front yard and ordered him to drop his gun.
Macias went behind a vehicle and officers then saw him point the gun at his friend, leading them to shoot 37 times. No one was hit, allowing Macias and the two friends fleeing to the backyard before one of the friends wrestled the gun from Macias and threw it out of reach. Then, according to video, Macias picked the other friend off the ground and used him as a shield as police approached. Officers first shot Macias with a less-lethal sponge round and then used a Taser to detain him. Macias was shot in the foot and the projectile was removed from his foot after the shooting, but it’s still unclear if it came from his gun or police. Macias was arrested and booked into jail. Macias was later released from jail, and all charges against him have been dropped at the request of the victims.

Suspect Gets Shot After Exchanging Gunfire With an Oregon State Police Trooper
* (Disclaimer: This video content is intended for educational and informational purposes only) *
Salem, Oregon — On Monday, April 10, 2023, at 8:42 a.m., an Oregon State Police (OSP) trooper, Andrew Tuttle, was on duty and driving northbound on Interstate 5 (I5). Trooper Tuttle was nearing milepost 254 and observed what he believed to be a stalled semi-trailer in the B lane (middle lane). Trooper Tuttle called into his dispatch to inform them that he would be stopping to assist the driver. As Trooper Tuttle pulled up closer to the semi-trailer, he observed an adult male suspect (later identified to be 31-year-old Felipe Amezcua Manzo) in the roadway with a firearm in his hand. Trooper Tuttle saw Amezcua Manzo point the firearm at the driver of the semi-trailer and then saw him point the firearm at a driver of a nearby SUV and try to force open the passenger side door of that vehicle. At this time, Amezcua Manzo noticed Trooper Tuttle and started to run to the east, toward the CarMax (located adjacent to I5). Trooper Tuttle activated his lights and sirens and pulled his vehicle over to the side of the interstate. Trooper Tuttle exited his vehicle and drew his firearm. Trooper Tuttle saw Amezcua Manzo run to the grass shoulder and then go down into the ditch. Trooper Tuttle yelled at Amezcua Manzo to “get on the ground” numerous times but Amezcua Manzo ignored those commands and continued walking south.
Trooper Tuttle proceeded to go down into the ditch and saw Amezcua Manzo walking with the gun in his hand. Amezcua Manzo then turned toward Trooper Tuttle, aimed the gun at Trooper Tuttle and started firing. Trooper Tuttle then returned fire. During this exchange of gunfire, Trooper Tuttle felt something hit him on his left arm. Trooper Tuttle started back up the incline at the side of I5, in an attempt to find coverage from the gunfire but ended up falling into the water in the bottom of the ditch. Trooper Tuttle was able to get up and run up to his patrol vehicle. Trooper Tuttle reloaded his firearm and noticed that Amezcua Manzo was again aiming at him and firing. At this point, Trooper Tuttle saw a “blue light or laser” coming from Amezcua Manzo’s gun. The light was pointed right at Trooper Tuttle’s eyes and blinded him momentarily. This light is frequently associated with laser-assisted aiming, suggesting to Trooper Tuttle that the gun was aimed at his head. Trooper Tuttle began to fire again toward Amezcua Manzo. Amezcua Manzo was still holding the gun and aiming at Trooper Tuttle. After Trooper Tuttle reloaded his gun a second time, he noticed Amezcua Manzo start to walk back toward Trooper Tuttle. Trooper Tuttle continued to fire at Amezcua Manzo, reloading a third time, until Amezcua Manzo fell to the grass.
At this time, Trooper Tuttle informed dispatch that shots had been fired and Amezcua Manzo was down. Medics were immediately dispatched to the scene to render medical aid to Amezcua Manzo. While Trooper Tuttle was waiting for back up officers to arrive, a male started running down the interstate toward Trooper Tuttle. The male identified himself with a badge as a retired Pierce County, Washington, Sheriff’s Deputy. Trooper Tuttle gave the retired deputy his backup weapon and the retired deputy joined Trooper Tuttle at his patrol vehicle. They both held Amezcua Manzo at gunpoint for their safety until back up officers arrived just a few minutes later. Once additional officers arrived, they approached Amezcua Manzo to render aid. Officers observed gunshot wounds to Amezcua Manzo’s chest, back, and head. Medical aid was administered but Amezcua Manzo was pronounced deceased at the scene. Also located near Amezcua Manzo was a firearm with an attached laser sight and light, which was blue in color. Trooper Tuttle sustained an abrasion to his left arm but did not require further medical attention. It cannot be determined if the injury Trooper Tuttle sustained was due to a bullet graze or due to his fall in the ditch. No other motorists, bystanders or police officers were injured during this incident.

Sandy Police Officer Shoots Man Running Toward Him
* (Disclaimer: This video content is intended for educational and informational purposes only) *
Sandy, Utah — On Sunday, March 26, 2023, around 1:00 a.m., police from the Sandy Police Department were dispatched on reports of a person who was having a mental health crisis and was possibly suicidal. As an officer was on his way to the area, police learned that the person had left a residence in the neighborhood. That officer found the man, later identified as 33-year-old Dylan William Murphy walking along 1000 East at around 11600 South. Murphy crossed the street in front of the officer, and then started walking toward him. The officer gets out of his car and calls out to Murphy to show him his hands. Murphy starts running toward the officer. The officer then shouts “Hands!” at Murphy twice more before firing his weapon at least three times, about seven seconds after his first command to Murphy.
The officer was running backward while shooting at Murphy, and at one point fell on his back. Once the officer gets up, he shouts three more times for Murphy to show his hands, the footage shows. Murphy then charges the officer, and the officer shoots at Murphy twice more. The officer then yells again for Murphy to show his hands, and orders Murphy to roll back onto his stomach, to which he complies. The officer then orders Murphy to keep his arms out, but Murphy instead tries to get up off the ground. The officer repeatedly commands Murphy to remain where he is, but Murphy moves to a crawling position before standing up and walking toward the officer. The officer shouts three more commands, then shoots Murphy in the torso. Murphy then falls to the ground, and died due to his injuries. Murphy's family, described him as struggling with drug addiction and that he was attempting to get help. The officer, who was not identified, remains on paid administrative leave. He has been a member of the department since March 2021.

Bodycam Shows Shootout With Officers and Suspect Outside of Springfield MGM Casino
* (Disclaimer: This video content is intended for educational and informational purposes only) *
Springfield, Massachusetts — On Saturday, February 25, 2023, at 2:20 a.m., members of the Massachusetts State Police Gaming Enforcement Unit, along with members of the Springfield Police Department assigned to the Gaming Enforcement Unit, responded to a report of 48-year-old William Tisdol being involved in a confrontation inside MGM Springfield. During that confrontation, Tisdol reportedly threatened to shoot the a party with which he had a confrontation with at a gaming table. MGM security was able to provide a location to Officers as Tisdol was leaving the casino, heading south in the direction of Main and Union Streets. When approached by officers on Union Street, Tisdol attempted to elude officers. During the encounter Tisdol did not comply with the troopers’ legally valid attempts to stop him. Instead, Tisdol fled while keeping his hand in his right jacket pocket while troopers issued commands for him to remove his hands.
A Springfield Police officer attempted to stop Tisdol by tackling him; however Tisdol evaded this officer and continued to flee while keeping hand in his right pocket. Troopers continued to issue commands while following the subject. When a trooper announced the use of his taser, Tisdol turned towards the trooper and discharged his firearm on the trooper armed with only a taser. Both troopers returned fire at Tisdol. Tisdol was later declared deceased at Baystate Medical Center. An autopsy by the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner determined that a projectile had entered Tisdol in the right upper chest area, which caused his death. The law directs that district attorneys bear the responsibility of investigating cases involving deaths by unnatural causes. In instances such as this it is also the district attorney’s role to determine the appropriateness and lawfulness of a police use of force leading to another’s death.
Hampden District Attorney Anthony D. Gulluni employs national best practices in these situations that are designed to ensure communication with a decedent’s family and community leaders while the investigation continues; conduct an objective and thorough investigation; and reveal to the public all evidence, clear findings of fact, and conclusions that apply the law. This investigation into the death of William Tisdol has followed this same protocol and concludes that the troopers acted in the lawful exercise of their duties and used only necessary and reasonable force in both self-defense and defense of others. Hampden District Attorney Anthony D. Gulluni stated, “Tisdol’s actions dictated the course of events and the reasonable and necessary use of lethal force by the troopers. There is clear and copious evidence that Tisdol accessed, pointed, and fired his gun at troopers. The entirety of the amassed, uncontroverted evidence all stand clearly in agreement that the use of force by the troopers was an unavoidable last resort, to which they arrived after issuing numerous verbal commands and then were fired upon by Tisdol. Their actions comport with the policies of the Massachusetts State Police and with the laws of the Commonwealth of Massachusetts.”

Border Patrol Agent Shoots Man Smuggling Undocumented Migrants in a BMW
* (Disclaimer: This video content is intended for educational and informational purposes only) *
Sasabe, Arizona — On March 14, 2023, at approximately 6:18 p.m. a U.S. Border Patrol remote camera operator observed multiple suspected undocumented migrants load into a BMW sedan, approximately one mile north of the Port of Entry at Sasabe, Ariz. The camera operator transmitted the information to Border Patrol agents in the area via radio. Two agents who were parked in separate marked Border Patrol vehicles near mile marker 12 on State Route 286 observed a BMW pass their location driving northbound and began to follow. The driver of the BMW was reportedly driving in an erratic manner turning the vehicle’s turn signals on and off and speeding up and slowing down. The agents activated their emergency equipment to conduct a vehicle stop at 6:34 p.m. The BMW failed to yield, and a pursuit ensued.
The BMW turned westbound Near mile marker 20 on SR 286 onto Brown Bear Canyon Road, and the agents continued to pursue the vehicle. The driver of the BMW turned the vehicle to the south 3.8 miles west of SR 286 at approximately 6:41p.m., while attempting to turn around. Customs and Border Protection’s Office of Professional Responsibility special agents reviewed incident driven video recording system footage related to the incident captured by body worn camera. The footage showed the first Border Patrol agent who arrived positioned his Border Patrol vehicle behind the BMW, exited his vehicle, and approached the driver’s side of the BMW. The agent used his collapsible straight baton to break the rear and front driver’s side windows of the BMW. The agent reached into the vehicle as the vehicle moved in reverse. The driver of the BMW continued to move the vehicle backwards as the agent attempted to hold the driver’s left arm.
The vehicle stopped and the driver changed gears and started turning the steering wheel with his right hand while the agent was holding him by his left forearm, which was outside and below the driver’s side window. The agent drew his handgun and fired one time striking the driver of the BMW. Border Patrol agents secured the six occupants of the vehicle which included one U.S. citizen who was sitting in the front seat and exited the vehicle immediately before the shooting, two undocumented migrants in the back seat, and three additional undocumented migrants in the trunk. Both agents, who were trained as emergency medical technicians, rendered aid to the driver of the vehicle by performing cardiopulmonary resuscitation and using an automated external defibrillator. The driver, a U.S. citizen, was declared deceased on the scene by the Pima County Sheriff’s Department.

* (Disclaimer: This video content is intended for educational and informational purposes only) *
Solon, Ohio — On April 6, 2023, Solon Police Officers were alerted to the presence of a stolen vehicle on Aurora Road via an automated license plate reader system around 10:31 a.m.. Officer Butto located the vehicle on Aurora Road and learned that it was taken in an Aggravated Robbery reported to the Cleveland Police Department on April 4. The officer attempted to stop the vehicle on SOM Center Road south of Aurora Road with lights and siren in a marked police vehicle. The suspect vehicle, a blue Honda Odyssey minivan, did not stop. A chase ensued, traveling south on SOM Center Rd, west on Arthur Rd, and northbound on Solon Blvd. It lasted approx. one minute and forty-five seconds. The stolen car crashed into the rear of another vehicle on Solon Blvd near Roxbury Elementary School. A suspect (driver) exited the stolen Honda with a gun in his hand. Shots were fired by the officer as the suspect fled from the vehicle.
The suspect traveled southeast through some backyards, dropping the gun in the grass. After a short foot chase, the suspect surrendered. The foot chase lasted about 45 seconds. There were no injuries to the officer or suspect. The suspect’s firearm, a loaded semi-automatic .40 caliber Glock model 23, was recovered by police immediately after the safe capture of the suspect. The weapon was loaded with 22 bullets. It had an extended magazine. One of those bullets was in the chamber. It is not clear if the suspect had fired a weapon or not. A neighborhood canvass did not turn up any damage to property or injuries to citizens immediately afterwards. The 16-year-old boy was the only suspect involved in the stolen vehicle chase, he is currently being held at the Cuyahoga County Juvenile Detention Center on the following charges: suspicion of receiving stolen property, improper handling of a firearm, fleeing and eluding, aggravated menacing and carrying concealed weapons.

Kinney County, Texas — On April 7, 2023, at around 9 a.m. a Texas Department of Public Safety (DPS) trooper assigned to Operation Lone Star attempted to stop a gray Toyota sedan on U.S. Highway 90 in Kinney County, Texas, for a traffic violation. But the driver refused to stop and a pursuit began. During the pursuit, a suspect tried to drive through a gate, which caused the Toyota to stall. The driver and a passenger tried to take off on foot but were quickly taken into custody by Texas DPS troopers.
While searching the vehicle, troopers discovered six illegal immigrants, including two inside the trunk, from Guatemala, Honduras and Ecuador. Two handguns were also found inside the vehicle during the search. The DPS identified the driver as 26-year-old Donald Graves and the passenger as Najoua Harris, 25. Both men are from Louisiana. Graves and Harris are facing federal smuggling charges, according to authorities. Texas DPS confirmed that Graves is a member of a gang in Baton Rouge. He is wanted by the Baton Rouge Police Department for two counts of murder and two counts of attempted murder in connection to a gang-related shooting in February 2022.

Police Bodycam Footage of Louisville Bank Shooting
* (Disclaimer: This video content is intended for educational and informational purposes only) *
Louisville, Kentucky — On Monday 10, 2023, the Louisville Metro Police officers were dispatched at a bank in Kentucky's largest city at 8:38 a.m., and arrived within three minutes. Immediately upon their arrival, shots were fired at them from the lobby area of the bank, before they had even exited their vehicles. By the time the officers arrived at the scene, the shooter had already killed victims inside the bank, but had returned to the lobby to wait in "ambush," which is when he opened fire on the officers.
The shooter, identified as 25-year-old Connor Sturgeon, was a bank employee. Video released by police shows Officer Nickolas Wilt and Officer Cory Galloway, arriving on scene. As Wilt and Officer Galloway, his training officer, make their way up the stairs toward the gunfire, Wilt is struck by gunfire from the shooter. Galloway drops and rolls back down the stairs. He hides behind a wall of concrete trying to find a vantage point to neutralize the shooter. While officers attempted to retrieve Wilt to render medical aid, the shooter continued to fire upon the police. While shooting at officers, the suspect broke out a glass window.
It was that action that allowed Galloway to determine the suspect's location, and he was able to shoot and kill the gunman.Galloway then calls for fellow officers to rescue the wounded Wilt. Sturgeon, bought the AR-15 legally on April 4 in Louisville. Of the eight people injured in Monday's mass shooting, three remain at the University of Louisville Hospital. One of those patients, 26-year-old police officer Nickolas Wilt, shot in the head, is still in critical condition, hospital officials said, and the other two patients are stable and in fair condition. Wilt just graduated from the police academy on March 31.

Fresno Officer Gets Shot in The Vest During Shootout With Armed Suspect
* (Disclaimer: This video content is intended for educational and informational purposes only) *
Fresno, California — On Saturday, March 4, at 4:55 p.m., officers from the Fresno Police Department attempted a traffic stop at Fresno Street and Shaw Avenue on a 2009 Chevrolet Malibu. The driver of the vehicle, 29-year-old Robert Corchado, was recognized as an individual with several outstanding felony warrants, including one for felony evading. Corchado failed to yield to the officers and sped towards Highway 41. The officers initiated a pursuit but discontinued the pursuit when Corchado drove the wrong way onto the Highway 41 ramp. Corchado was subsequently located by a Fresno Police Department air unit and was observed driving at a high rate of speed, failing to stop at several intersections and nearly causing a traffic collision with another motorist.
As a result, a sergeant determined that Corchado posed a danger to the public and requested officers to re-initiate the pursuit and authorized a PIT (Pursuit Immobilization Technique) maneuver if Corchado did not yield. When Corchado did not yield a PIT maneuver was performed disabling Corchado’s vehicle. Before officers could exit their patrol car, Corchado fired multiple rounds from a handgun toward the officers and both officers returned fire. In the exchange of gunfire one of the rounds fired by Corchado struck an officer in the chest. The round was stopped by the officer’s ballistic vest. Corchado, who had just repeatedly fired at officers and was potentially armed, began running towards a nearby occupied vehicle that had pulled to the side of the road.
Officers gave Corchado commands to stop as he neared the uninvolved motorist’s car, but he did not comply. An officer fired his weapon, striking Corchado. Additional officers arrived on scene and took Corchado into custody. The officers provided medical aid, including CPR. Corchado was pronounced deceased on scene by paramedics. It was later learned Corchado discarded his 9mm handgun near his vehicle after the exchange of gunfire with officers. There was one live round in the chamber, and the magazine was empty. Shell casings from the handgun that Corchado fired at officers were located inside of his vehicle. In addition, a .22 caliber rifle was located between the driver and passenger seats of Corchado’s vehicle. Detectives located three rounds fired by Corchado that struck the officer’s patrol car.

Bodycam Shows Aurora Police Shooting Suspect Wielding a Knife on RTD Bus
* (Disclaimer: This video content is intended for educational and informational purposes only) *
Aurora, Colorado — On October 2, 2022, at approximately 4:30 p.m. an ADMIT client, “J.M.”1 called Arapahoe County Sheriff’s Office Deputy Kraig Conger and expressed concern that 35-year-old Alexander Collins was acting strange—that he had stayed up all night drinking alcohol and smoking “blues,” street slang for fentanyl. According to J.M., Collins repeatedly stated, “I’m not going back to jail.” Deputy Conger was not working at the time, so he notified Deputy Anthony Archuleta of the information and requested Deputy Archuleta respond to the facility to check on Collins and place him on a detoxification hold. At approximately 5:30 p.m., Deputy Conger called J.M. to give Deputy Archuleta access to the facility. J.M. advised that Collins left the facility and went to the bus stop located at the corner of westbound Colfax Avenue and Moline Street. J.M. further reported that he could see Collins with a woman and that he had a “butcher knife” in his pocket.
Collins entered the Moline Corner Store and confronted the clerk by demanding cigarettes. The clerk recognized Collins as a regular and saw that he was holding a large knife. The clerk placed a box of cigarettes on the counter and asked Collins if he was going to pay for the cigarettes. Collins did not respond and simply took the cigarettes, put the knife in his pocket, and walked out of the store. The clerk locked the door and called 911. Collins proceeded north across Colfax Avenue to the bus stop on the northwest corner of Colfax Avenue and Moline Street. Collins boarded the westbound RTD bus from the front without paying bus fare. The bus driver attempted to confront Collins but Collins ignored him and continued to walk down the aisle to the back of the bus. The bus driver stopped the bus because he heard sirens and saw emergency vehicles approach.
Uniformed Aurora Police Officers responded to the location and surrounded the bus. Deputy Archuleta advised Aurora Police K9 Officer Robert Wong what had occurred, identified Collins, and advised that Collins was armed with the knife inside the bus. Officer Wong saw Collins inside the bus and noticed passengers moving away from Collins. Officer Wong drew his handgun, pointed it at Collins and ordered him to exit the bus. Collins said “No” and started moving toward the back of the bus in the direction of the passengers. Officer Kevin Manley boarded the rear door of the bus.Officer Wong boarded the bus from the front door with his K9 officer. Officer Wong observed a knife in Collins’s back pocket. Officer Wong released his dog to take down Collins. The dog bit Collins from behind but did not take him down. Both Officer Wong and Officer Manley saw Collins holding a large knife in his right hand as he continued to advance toward the passengers huddled at the back of the bus.
As Collins continued to walk toward the back of the bus with Officer Wong grabbing him from behind, Officer Manley deployed his Taser to stop Collins. The Taser was ineffective. Officers Jordan Diekneit and Jason Oviatt stood outside the bus at the open rear door as Officers Wong and Manley struggled to control Collins inside the bus. They heard officers give commands, “Get off the bus!” and “Drop the knife!” while the dog made contact with Collins. They observed Collins armed with the knife as he continued to move toward the passengers on the back of the bus. As Collins pulled away from Officers Wong and Manley, Officers Diekneit and Oviatt fired their handguns at Collins, shooting him in the left side of the lower chest and abdomen. Collins was subsequently removed from the bus and officers rendered medical aid. Collins died as a result of the gunshot wounds.

Suspect Gets Shot After Pointing a Shotgun Toward Law Enforcement
* (Disclaimer: This video content is intended for educational and informational purposes only) *
Rochester, N.Y — On March 20, 2023, a man, identified as 35-year-old Brendon Burns, was seen Monday morning driving a vehicle potentially linked to two other shootings and pulled out a “hunting-style” knife when confronted by officers around 1:00 p.m.. Investigators say Burns threatened deputies with the knife and ran. Deputies fired at least one shot as Burns ran, with officers and deputies chasing him through several yard into a backyard on Barrington Street. Police said that's when Burns displayed a shotgun and refused orders to drop it, prompting officers and deputies to shoot him.
Officers and Deputies performed life-saving measures at the scene; however, the male was deceased. No one else was injured during this incident. Police said the New York State Attorney General's Office is investigating. The Rochester Police Department and Monroe County Sheriff's Office also launched internal investigations. Burns was previously arrested in 2018, accused of intentionally rear-ending a vehicle driven by an off-duty Rochester Police Department officer in Penfield. He was sentenced to 16 weekends in jail and three years of probation.

Phoenix Cops Fire at Man Wielding a Gun
* (Disclaimer: This video content is intended for educational and informational purposes only) *
Phoenix, Arizona — On Tuesday, March 14, 2023, Phoenix police officers were dispatched to a family fight at a nearby home in the area of 67th Avenue and Camelback Road. Multiple calls were made from the home requesting police. During the last call, the caller stated that her brother was armed with both a gun and knife and was threatening to hurt others at the house. Just after officers arrived, they heard several gunshots nearby. It was learned the gunshots were from a shooting near a convenience store. The employees of this business called 911 to report the incident. Officers converged on the convenience store and learned that a man matching the description from the family fight was the person who shot a man at the business.
Employees indicated the man ran in the direction of 67th Avenue and Mariposa Street. With the assistance of the Phoenix police helicopter, a man matching the description of both incidents was seen on Mariposa Street. The man had a handgun and was repeatedly pointing the gun to his head. Officers gave commands to the man to drop the gun. The man made a motion with the gun in the officers’ direction. That is when two officers discharged their weapons. The man then walked out of sight. Officers caught up with the man and with the assistance of a less lethal Taser deployment, the man was arrested. The man was transported to a local hospital for medical treatment. He was not injured due to the officer involved shooting.
Once he was released from medical care, he was booked into jail on multiple charges stemming from the original family fight, the shooting at the convenience store and the officer involved shooting. The man who was shot during the incident at the convenience store was treated at a local hospital for non-life-threatening injuries and has since been released. The knife described by the caller regarding the family fight was located outside of the home where the original call was placed. The firearm and magazine that the man had was recovered near the scene of the officer involved shooting. Both officers involved in this incident are assigned to the Maryvale Estrella Mountain Precinct. One officer has 6 years of service with the department while the other has approximately three-and-a-half years of service.

Man Wielding Large Knife Gets Shot by a State Trooper
* (Disclaimer: This video content is intended for educational and informational purposes only) *
Ulster County, N.Y. — On Friday, September 9, 2022, members of New York State Police (NYSP) and the Ulster County Sheriff's Office (UCSO) were dispatched to assist the Ulster County Mobile Mental Health crisis team at a residence located on Clark Road in Pine Bush, Ulster County. When the officers arrived at the residence, they encountered what police describe as a "distraught male." The "distraught" man identified as 41-year-old Daniel McAlpin was wielding what appeared to be a large knife. When McAlpin did not respond to repeated requests to drop the weapon, Trooper Elias E. Strickland deployed a Taser, however, McAlpin advanced toward the officers with the knife, and a second officer, Trooper Jason T. Wurtz, fired his issued firearm, striking McAlpin, who was pronounced deceased at the scene. Officers recovered a machete and an airsoft rifle at the scene.

Bodycam Footage of Police Firing at Nashville School Shooter Audrey Hale
* (Disclaimer: This video content is intended for educational and informational purposes only) *
Nashville, Tennessee — On Monday, March 27, 2023, A heavily armed 28-year-old Audrey Hale, who attended the school years ago, arrived on The Covenant School in her Honda Fit. She was heavily armed with three guns, two of them assault-type weapons, and, as seen in surveillance video, shot her way into the church/school through doors on the side of the building. The first call to 911 about shots being fired in the building came in at 10:13 a.m. Officers rushed to the campus, made entry and began clearing the building. Shots were heard coming from the second level. It was on the second floor, in a common area, that a team of officers encountered Hale shooting (she had been firing through a window at arriving police cars). Two members of an officer team fired on Hale and fatally wounded her.
Those two officers are Officer Rex Engelbert, a four-year MNPD veteran, and Officer Michael Collazo, a nine-year MNPD veteran. Writings recovered from Hale revealed that her attack was calculated and planned. A search warrant executed at Hale’s Brightwood Avenue home resulted in the seizure of a sawed-off shotgun, a second shotgun, and other evidence. The deceased are identified as Evelyn Dieckhaus, William Kinney, and Hallie Scruggs, all age nine, Mike Hill, age 61, Cynthia Peak, age 61, and Katherine Koonce, age 60. Police have given unclear information on Hale's gender. For hours Monday, police identified the shooter as a woman. At a late afternoon press conference, the police chief said Hale was transgender. After the news conference, police spokesperson Don Aaron declined to elaborate on how Hale identified. Destanee Thomas, a friend of Hale's, told that Hale had announced the transition to Aiden and began using male pronouns relatively recently.
