China Pushes The Philippines Into a Closer Alliance with the USA | Renato Cruz De Castro
🌟In this Video, Renato Cruz De Castro examines the geopolitical implications of China's actions on the Philippines and how it has pushed the country into a closer alliance with the USA. The article provides insights into the historical background of the Philippines-China relations, the economic and military tactics employed by China, and the implications for the Philippines' foreign policy. The article also discusses the potential for increased cooperation between the Philippines and the USA in response to China's assertiveness in the region.
Renato Cruz de Castro is a distinguished professor at De La Salle University of Manila and one of the Philippines’ great academic experts on foreign relations. He has written over 100 articles on the international relations and security of the Philippines, Japan, South Korea, and other actors in East Asia and the Pacific.
He recently wrote an interesting piece in The Diplomat about: “The Philippines’ Quest for Balance: Marcos’ Foreign Policy” explaining the balancing act Manilla has to currently pull off not to get squeezed between the big bully in the east, China, and the big bully in the west, the United States.

Developing Countries Are Not Easily Bullied Anymore | A Talk With Dr. Vijay Prashad
🌟Vijay Prashad is an Indian historian, journalist, and academic. He was a professor of International Studies at Trinity College, Connecticut and is the author of forty books, including “Red Star Over the Third World”, and “The Darker Nations: A People's History of the Third World”
His latest book “The Withdrawal: Iraq, Libya, Afghanistan, and the Fragility of U.S. Power” was written with Noam Chomsky. He currently serves as Executive Director of The Tricontinental: Institute for Social Research.
Vijay is a public intellectual and I consider him together with people like Noam Chomsky, Yanis Varoufakis, or Jeremy Corbin one of the leaders of “the global left” pointing the finger at where it hurts: that colonialism never actually ended and the majority of today’s wars are still the outcome of imperial Western politics.

Where Did Critical Peace Studies Go? | A Talk With Professor Dr. Werner Ruf | Neutrality Studies
🌟Where is the peace movement? And where are its academics? Many of us have been wondering what happened to the hippies, the activists, the journalists, the musicians, and the masses of people at Universities who once stood on podiums, hilltops, and in front of cameras, campaigning locally and internationally to end the wars in Vietnam, Yugoslavia, Irak, Afghanistan, etc. They seem to have all but vanished in the first year of the war in Ukraine. What happened?
I’m joined today by a German heavy weight of “critical peace studies” to approach that question. Dr. Werner Ruf is Professor for international and inter-societal relations and foreign policy. He obtained his PhD in 1967, from the University of Freiburg, taught and researched in the US, in France, North Africa, Yugoslavia (later Croatia), and Germany for decades.

We Need A Real Peace Movement Again | Sarah Wagenknecht The Left | Peace Movement In Germany!
🌟A real peace movement in Germany would strive to create a culture of peace and non-violence, emphasizing the value of human life and the importance of cooperation, mutual respect, and understanding across different cultures and nations.
One important aspect of a peace movement in Germany would be the recognition of the role of the country in global conflicts, particularly as a major arms exporter and a member of NATO. The movement would seek to challenge the status quo of militarization and promote alternative approaches to security, such as conflict prevention, humanitarian aid, and sustainable development.

In Ukraine Everyone Is Fighting For Survival | Ján Čarnogurský, Former Prime Minister Of Slovakia
🌟Today I’m speaking with a very special guest, Dr. Ján Čarnogurský, the former Prime Minister of Slovakia.
Dr. Carnogursky was and still is an important Eastern European dissident turned politician because he opposed many of the policies of his home state, Czechoslovakia when it was still under tight communist control. Today he is a lawyer and close observer of current affairs about Russia and Ukraine.
Dr. Carnogursky was born in 1944 in Bratislava. In 1969 he graduated from the Faculty of Law of Charles University in Prague. He then worked as a lawyer for several years but in 1981 he was fired for advocacy in the political process.
To survive he worked as a driver, but became a corporate lawyer later on before losing his job again in 1987 for being a dissident.
He even went to prison for his political views, form August to November 1989. But two weeks after his release from prison, he became the first Deputy Prime Minister of the Federal government of Czechoslovakia in Prague.
Then, from 1991 - 92 her served as Prime Minister of Slovakia (still within the Czechoslovak Republic) and between 1992-98 he was a Member of the Slovak Parliament and 1998-2002 Minister of Justice of the Slovak Republic.
Today he still works as a lawyer in Bratislava, he is the Chairman of the Coordinating Council of the International Association of Friends of Crimea and is the chairman of the Slovak-Russian Society.

What is Omni-Partiality? | Interview with Dr. Kenneth Cloke (2/2)
🌟This is the second part of an interview with Dr. Ken Cloke. In this segment, we talk about "omni-partiality" (or omnipartiality), a concept he created in the context of conflict resolution to express the point of a mediator identifying and showing understanding for both parties. A concept very different from the usual "impartiality", which is central to much of neutrality law.
Dr. Kenneth (Ken) Cloke is a world-recognized mediator, facilitator, teacher, and conflict resolution systems designer. He is the author of numerous books and articles, and a pioneer in the field of mediation and conflict resolution for over 40 years.
He received a J.D. (that is a doctoral degree in jurisprudence) from U.C. Berkeley in 1966 and a Ph.D. in history from U.C.L.A. in 1980.
3 years later, he created the Center for Dispute Resolution in Santa Monica, CA and he was the principal founder of Mediators beyond Boarders a non-profit organization focused on creating peace through mediation.
