Look up at the sky and check for stars or cloud cover. Seeing stars will usually mean a dry and cold night. So stay warm. Seeing cloud cover with no stars will usually mean that it will be warmer but you may get rain so stay dry. Simple concept that will make your night outdoors much more comfortable.
