It was this lovely young female cat that was thrown away since the previous night. She still had her 'collar' on from the previous 'owner' who obviously had just got bored with her. I was looking for a different cat last night that I had seen the previous day - when this confused little chap appeared. Probably thrown away yesterday afternoon - I was lucky to find him before he got a soaking last night - because of his condition - it would have been worse for him if it had rained before he was found. Ya Allah - this is my Ramadhan - please accept our deeds and help us with your mercy. Found just now in Titang on the last day of Ramadhan as the rain is about to start.. They are only 1 month old and were sitting under a piece of thin laminate - on an area that had already been burnt out at the dump. This has been the busiest month of the year due to being Ramadhan in Indonesian - while the rest of Muslims are busy trying to behave better and do more deeds during Ramadhan - we see more dumped kittens and cats than during the rest of the year. This comes at a time when youtube has caused us to have the lowest level of donations in well over a year by stopping views on all the rest of our videos - in the last couple of week we have donation from only 2 of our most loyal donors - and of course Indonesians do not give zakat or sadaqa for charity online - EVEN DURING RAMADHAN..... so it has been quite a strain in the last couple of weeks with unprecedented numbers of animals rescued. The infamous day on which we surpassed our previous record for the number of kittens or cats that had to be rescued in a single day. This is a short version of the issue. Please let me know if you would like to see a much longer, more detailed version of the 4 rescues. I knew that this month would be the busiest of the year - this is because people who say they are Muslim - but who have nothing to do with Islam will literally behave worse during Ramadhan than during the rest of the year - this pervades EVERYTHING, general behaviour, manners on the road, and of course the number of kittens being dumped, the lever of neglect, etc. We have already had a busier month previous to this than ever before - not just dealing with young abandoned kittens, but also a lot of teenage, young and old adults with, in particular, extreme scabies cases. A couple of those animals were very sick and succumbed unfortunately - but the majority have undergone treatment successfully and are well on their way to full recovery. Todays extreme day started of with 3 TWO WEEK old kittens - still deaf and not even able to pee on their own yet. One of them was sitting in water in a field that had just had a combine harvester working through it - his two siblings were hiding in the undergrowth nearby - they were only found by searching thoroughly. Another straggler turned up by himself while I was dealing with the babies. 20 minutes later I found another 2 little guys at another dump. But that wasn't the total for the day. Later on at night - I found another 3 three month old gingies at the same dumpe that the 3 babies came from that morning. I expect the worst time will be the last week of Ramadhan and the following 3 or so days - so it may be that right now is the calm before the storm........ Last call of the night was meant to be to leave some food for an old friend of mine - a stray cat that I have been feeding for over a year.... Just in the last 30m - some degenerate scumbag left a hole covered over and disguised for the next person to drive into. This is not one of the more lonely, remote or less used tracks that I typically find kittens on - this one is actually busy with men and women of all ages using it quite a lot - and especially farmers and school children during the day. This could easily have killed someone - it just happened I was the next after this was 'prepared'. This was probably done by someone from one of the local villages - so they could easily have hurt or killed their own neighbour or family. The bike got flipped right around to the opposite direction and got the rear shock absorber busted - as well as lights. I ended up landing mostly on my chest - which is really messed up. This is the only vehicle we have to do this work - getting it damaged by some infantile animal is really despicable - but i am no longer surprised. I have long ago stopped trying to get help or donations from Indonesians to do Maruf or help us out - EVEN IN RAMADHAN - it is no surprise that almost every interaction with them is an interference. While Muslims everywhere else are trying to do MORE good deeds during Ramadhan - here......... An insight into the kitten and cat rescue work we do, from the conditions and situations in which we find these defenseless and vulnerable animals to their rehabilitation and future lives. Just some of the work we do. Also showing the situation of older cats who are abandoned just because they are sick, pregnant or old. There is very little sense of a mutually beneficial dynamic in pet ownership here - loyalty does not flow both ways! This is especially demonstrated when a female cat has the cheek and audacity to get herself pregnant (as if she should know better) and finds herself thrown out on her backside with the kittens - or just the kittens taken off her and thrown away. For those who genuinely do not know - this type of behaviour, the separation of nursing animals (or non fledged birds) from their Mother, is anathema in Islam and expressly forbidden by Islam (by a well known and famous sahih hadith) - so the claim of a people to belong to the religion of Islam while happily and DEFIANTLY doing such practices can be seen for its bogus nature - along with selling and buying cats and dogs, and refusal to do Halal slaughter according to conditions, etc. This is just in relation to treatment of animals. Of course, the same is true for the rest of their behaviour in all other matters. We are now entirely dependent on online donations for the entirety of our work. We get no online help from Indonesians. We also get very little help from my own country Ireland, and despite trying, I have never had any contact with Irish expats living in indonesia - something which I know the Irish Embassy in Jakarta has played a part in for reasons know best to itself. I have literally never talked with a single other Irish person living here - which is obviously quite bizarre and unnatural. We are entirely dependent on donations from the small community of people who have joined with us online and have literally facilitated us continuing this work. Through their donations we have been able to keep going so far. We have refused to join the ever growing group of foreigners and foreign animal charities who have abandoned their principles, and whatever ethics they had, in order to fit in here locally. This is in relation to finances, availability, attitude and treatment of animals, acceptability and need for euthanasia, activities which have absolutely nothing to do with animals or animal welfare. Our ethics are in completely compatible with the professional veterinary associations in the US, most European countries, and specifically Veterinary Ireland. It may surprise some people that we are also then fully compliant with Islamic Hukum and sharia law. As Muslims, we utterly reject the prevailing idea in Indonesia that euthanasia of animals is bad, evil, 'murder', and that animals should be let die in agony when relief is possible. This way of thinking is not from Islam, has nothing to do with Islam and IS NOT EVEN REMOTELY COMPATIBLE with Islam in any way shape or form. It is the tripe and rubbish of pre-Islamic drivel. The hukum in relation to euthanasia is that it is not only permissible, but most scholars: a recommended action ('mustahab') for animals in distress. Amazing how difficult it is to get one f lousy like on Rumble - you would think they came out of peoples' pockets. Just when you might think their behaviour couldn't get any worse...... Actually I am not surprised - not in the slightest. From karate kicking an old woman (c. 70 y.o.) on a road into the ground - mercilessly KICKING a young schoolgirl in the HEAD - IN a classroom - both videoed by the perpetrators themselves ..... not exactly behaviour that MOST of US would be used to - but ...... we are the 'uneducated' 'unwashed' 'mannerless' masses with no 'culture', 'tradition' or even 'history' - according to 'some people'. As for my own situation - cowards sitting on bikes while I am away from mine, are not exactly a challenge..... shouting abuse at people out in a field only confirms that you are dealing with cowards EVEN WHEN THEY ARE IN NUMBERS - and they flee like rats as soon as you turn to WALK back to your bike 40m away!!!! And the reality for the 'twain' meeting, is that it would take more than doctors to put them back together afterwards - and magically they seem to know it. Why anyone would even want to go to Bali on holiday, let alone the rest, is beyond reckoning. In addition, specifically for those of us who actually ARE Muslims - There is not a Muslim alive who does not know the consequence of any 'Muslim' interfering with another Muslim while they are doing MARUF - and instead of helping - but this time, Allah's Qadr was to protect the cat from these evil ********. Just some of the kittens and cats that we found needing help during 2023. Many of them never had a video of their own - due to us not having the time to make them.... yet. So a lot of them will be seen for the first time so far. Just showing some of what we have been doing: from treating strays or village cats for scabies and worms, up to the usual rescue, rehab and adoption of abandoned kittens and cats, as well as sick cats. Just when I was about to leave this infamous dumping spot - I just about managed to hear a faint little meow. This was just pure luck as I had been there for 5 minutes already and was about to leave. After a bit of a search, I pulled a frightened little guy out. He is filthy and has obviously been neglected - Then there is what I believe to be a cigarette burn on his chest!! I have seen this done to kittens in Indonesia in the past - it explains a lot about behaviour here - and what we know about people who have to get their excitement or feelings of superiority by being a coward in relation to young, small animals. From my experience, they don't even have the guts to do this to an adult cat - I only ever see KITTENS like this! I think was here since yesterday. He is really needy and after getting him home, all he wants is to be held and petted. Guess who will be sleeping beside me tonight.....! These kittens are only 2 to 3 weeks old! I found them at this spot which I check everyday - after finding two teenage male kittens here only 3 days ago. I thought that there would be an easing in the rate of dumping - but I was wrong. No let up so far. One of them would have only lasted hours as his eyes were cacked up with dirt and he only had grass to protect him from the sun's heat. He would not have been able to find his way to shade. They were incredibly thirsty after their ordeal. Luckily we have a Mama cat who is still nursing and she has already accepted them. We are still facing censorship and suppression from Indonesian divisions of social media platforms; YT INDONESIA; Instagram and FB INDONESIA for xenophobic and ultra jingoistic reasons! The last 2 days and nights have been hectic, 10 kittens and cats dumped and rescued - from 2 separate litters of little guys, through adolescent kittens, and all the way to a NURSING mother thrown away without her kittens - an Indonesian specialty. Of course, the last variety of dumping uses and misuses the most time because of all the effort needed to make sure there are no kittens hidden away - three hours on that alone last night. After a couple of mixups - finally we had our vaccination day today to take care of all outstanding babies and adults - a total of 23 cats - 2 adults and 21 kittens of all ages!! Night time encounters, mostly, with dumped kittens and and their mother. Then in the couple of days after that we were also busy finding a another couple of kittens dumped on their own and a young female with scabies - it has been REALLY BUSY!! Our channel - which only exists in order to try to support our rescue work with kittens and cats, is under continuous and unrelenting attack from youtube Indonesia - they are shutting down EVERY single video that I try to upload - despite the fact that we are a charity. The vindictiveness of youtube google is on such a level that this video is being penalized more than any other video on this channel - AFTER contacting help. This is not a surprise to a great many people (growing number) who have learnt about the vindictiveness of this platform. Showing another aspect of our work - when other people rescue kittens or cats - or have them dumped at their house - sometimes they come to us for help. Whether it is trying to seek out veterinary treatment at discount for injuries, or more routine treatments for worming, scabies or chlamydia - we try to help as much as possible. Rescuers, other cat lovers, even school children bringing strays from their school with scabies, for example. The second part is just showing a rescue from last night which turned out to be one of the three fastest rescue to adoptions. I spotted this little girl mooching around in the darkness at the local dump 2 nights ago - and despite being desperate and approaching me at first - fear got the better of her. After and hour and a half, I could not coax her back our of where she had taken refuge. Next day, one of the local farmers had caught her, and held onto her until I came by. Only hours later, she was spotted by one of our customers who fell in love with her...... she has already found her adopter! Only 20 hours after I first saw her. The last part - makeshift 'shelters' at the local dumps for the wet season - rough, ready and makeshift only - hopefully some kittens might get shelter when dumped from the torrential rain until we find and rescue them. I had to print a warning message to try to have them left alone - we will see if they are left undisturbed..... they are in no-ones way! Kitten rescue - the busiest we have ever been - a standalone summary from October. This is just the standalone summary of how one week this month was the busiest we have ever been. We ended up looking after 18 young kittens alone, in addition to adults which we rescued, and several who were treated 'in the field' - and it has not eased up since. There is no time for us to be able to campaign about this as an issue - which is sad. Ginger and Socks were abandoned on a small road between padi fields. They were about 7 weeks and malnourished when I spotted them. We caught Ginger on day 2, she was exhausted and lying in the open in the midday heat. Socks was more of a 'challenge'. It took another FIVE DAYS to catch him!
