Rep. MTG to Secretary Mayorkas: ‘You’re a Liar! ... You Are Killing Americans with Your Policies’
MELUGIN: “And in one of the hearing’s more tense moments, Congresswoman Marjorie Taylor Greene had this exchange with Mayorkas about the fentanyl crisis.”
[Clip starts]
Taylor Greene: “How long are you going to let this go on?”
MAYORKAS: “Congresswoman, let me assure you that we’re not letting it go on. We are fighting this —“
Taylor Greene: “No. I reclaim my time. You’re a liar! You are letting this go on, and the numbers prove it. You can’t lie about the facts, Secretary Mayorkas. While you live in denial and sit over there with this attitude that you’re doing everything right, you are killing Americans with your policies!”

Biden Lies About Job Creation, Deficit and Taxes in ONE Speech!
Biden: “We’ve created more than 12,000 brand new jobs in two years. That’s more than any president in American history has created in four years.
In my first two years in office, I brought the deficit down by a record $1.7 trillion. All we spent, still less than $1.7 trillion.
But you have — we have a thousand billionaires in America. Do you know the average tax rate they pay? Eight. E-I-G-H percent. Eight percent.”

Reid: It Wouldn’t Surprise Me if the Guy Who Shot the Black Teen at His Door Is a Fox News Viewer
REID: “It was easier than putting Tucker Carlson et al. On the stand. I mean, the reality is their business model is to continue to lie about democracy, to stoke hate and even violent rage. I mean, we are seeing January 6th defendants say they were radicalized by Fox News. You’re seeing them constantly touting Black Lives Matter as some evil entity, and then voila, you have people who think they ought to shoot Black Lives Matter people or shoot at them. You have a young black man go to a door, and someone who — we don’t know what he watches on TV, but, you know, it wouldn’t shock me if he was watching a lot of black people or violent thugs and, ‘If the one comes to my door, I’ll kill him.’ So you combine a lot of guns and a lot of people who are literally being radicalized by a television network, there is no incentive for them to stop doing it. Because if they don’t do it, Newsmax is out there, OANN is out there. You saw just the threat of those networks rising caused them to dig deeper and to double down on the big lie.”

Dominion Voting Systems CEO: ‘Fox and Dominion Have Reached a Historic Settlement’
POULOS: “Fox and Dominion have reached a historic settlement. Fox has admitted to telling lies about Dominion that caused enormous damage to my company, our employees, and the customers that we serve. Nothing can ever make up for that. Throughout this process, we have sought accountability and believe the evidence brought to light through this case underscores the consequences of spreading lies. Truthful reporting in the media is essential to our democracy. Dominion, our employees, our people, our partners are grateful to the court for allowing us the process for the truth to come out. I cannot thank the election officials that we serve enough. Without them, there is no democracy, and the work they tirelessly do to that end, and they deserve much better. We are grateful for all the support we have received, grateful to our legal team, and want to acknowledge Staple Street Capital, who have been unconditional in their support of Dominion and our customers.”

Hawley to Mayorkas: ‘You Should’ve Resigned Long Ago...You Should Be Removed from Office’
HAWLEY: “I could go on and on. ‘The Times’ details over a multi month investigation, kid after kid, child after child, one — one 13-year old forced to Wash hotel sheets in Virginia. Kids running milkshake machine — milking machines rather in Vermont, delivering meals in New York City, scrubbing dishes late at night, all in violation of our country’s laws, all facilitated by your policies. Are you proud of this record?”
MAYORKAS: “Senator, the horrific exploitation of children is something that we do not condone. You are incorrectly attributing it to our policies. Let me share with you —”
HAWLEY: “Wait a minute, wait a minute. It began — look at — look at the numbers. Look at the numbers. It began, this massive surge began when you came to office. In your first year in office, first year, there was a 342 percent surge of unaccompanied children across the border. You know, CBS reported that Mr. — I’m going to quote them now. Mr. Biden’s election as well as policy changes announced by his administration — those would be your changes led smugglers to tell migrant youth, they had a better chance of being allowed to stay in the United States than they had under Trump. Meanwhile, you’ve lost track of tens of thousands of them. ‘The Times’ also review data that showed the government couldn’t reach more than 85,000 of these children, who they just turned over into the hands of — of smugglers of modern — these are modern day slave traders. And you’re just giving these children to them. What is going on? Why are you doing this?”
MAYORKAS: “Senator, so, of course, there are a number of factual inaccuracies in your question, but let me — let me address a two lines of effort that we have to combat the scourge of exploitation — [crosstalk]”
HAWLEY: “Why Don’t We just start with why you enabled it? Can we just start with that? Why is it that you have enabled 345,000 children to be — to be smuggled across this border, and then sent into the hands of modern day slave traders. In 2021, you made the decision to change Title 42 to allow unaccompanied children to come into the United States, and then to be sent into the interior of the country. Under the last administration children were reunited with their families in their home country, you change that. And as soon as you changed it, the numbers exploded. That is your responsibility.”
MAYORKAS: “Quite a number of false statements, Senator. So, if I can — [crosstalk]”
HAWLEY: “Which — which — what is false about that statement?”
MAYORKAS: “— so — so if I can state what I’ve been trying to state. One of the significant policy decisions that we have made is to focus our worksite enforcement investigative efforts, our criminal investigative efforts on unscrupulous employers that exploit individuals because of their vulnerabilities. And that includes — that includes under age workers.”
HAWLEY: “That is not what ‘The New York Times’ investigation found. I was — Mr. Chairman, I just ask at this point, I’d like to enter into the record. ‘The New York Times’ article is migrant children were put to work, U.S. ignored warnings. This is from April 17th.”
HAWLEY: You change title 42, you allowed hundreds of thousands of migrant children to come across the border, and then you made it worse when it became a cricket political crisis for you, when that huge surge of kids across the border because you change title 42, when it became an optics crisis, what did you do? You began crushing officials and agencies to skip the vetting process and get these kids out as soon as possible to sponsors who were invented. Here’s the times again, as shelters filled with children, the administration began loosening vetting restrictions and urging case managers to speed the process along. You have at every stage, facilitated this modern day indentured servitude of minor children. Why should you not be impeached for this?
MAYORKAS: Senator, I look forward to discussing this issue further, because you are stating the facts so terribly.
HAWLEY: I’m reading you the facts from articles in the news and your usual modus operandi is what you’re doing again today, is to deny, deny, why have you permitted 345,000 children to come into this country unaccompanied? Why have you permitted thousands of them to be abused and exploited?
MAYORKAS: Senator, what we do is we enforce the law. Let me just say this –
HAWLEY: You are not.
MAYORKAS: It is stunning to me, stunning to hear you say that the prior administration reunited children with their parents.
HAWLEY: Oh I see, so this is our fault. You’re not going to take any responsibility for the indentured servitude an exploitation of children that is happening on your watch. A moment ago, you are crowing about the fact that you treated children so well and yet we find tens of thousands of children who are forced to work as slaves because of your policies and you turn around and blame a prior administration. Mister secretary, this is par for the course for you. You do it every time you appear before this committee, you do it every time you appear before Congress. I for one second tired of it and thousands of children are in physical danger. DANGER. Because of what you are doing. You should have resigned long ago. And if you cannot change course, you should be removed from office."

Musk explains Twitter operating with 20% of Staff: 'Not Running a Glorified Activist Organization'
MUSK: I really get most of my news from Twitter at this point. It is the number 1 news source in the world, at this point.
CARLSON: What percentage of your staff did you fire a Twitter? One of the great business story of the year.
MUSK: I think we’re at about 20% of the original size.
CARLSON: So 80% left.
MUSK: Yes. A lot of people voluntarily.
CARLSON: Sure. But 80% are gone.
MUSK: That’s correct.
CARLSON: How do you run the company with only 20% of the staff?
MUSK: It turns out you don’t need all that many people to run Twitter.
CARLSON: 80%? That's a lot.
MUSK: Yes. I mean, if you’re not trying to run some sort of glorified activist organization and you don’t care that much about censorship then you can really let go of a lot of people, it turns out.

Father of Victim Calls Out Jerry Nadler for Not Condemning Antisemitic Hate Crimes
The father of a victim of an antisemitic hate crime, Barry Borgen, yesterday during a House Judiciary Committee hearing in New York City:
"When my son got beaten up by these six individuals, we heard from many politicians. Mayor Adams was a candidate. Gov. Hochul. I must take notice of Mr. Nadler. You’re a Jewish New Yorker. I called your office numerous times; I called Mr. [Chuck] Schumer’s office, another Jewish New Yorker, numerous times. No one called us back. “Neither one of you came out with a statement on my son’s incident. You’re a Jewish New Yorker. You have Jewish roots here. Behavior like this enables DA Alvin Bragg to just do whatever he wants to do. If you guys were to come out with a statement from Washington saying… ‘we condemn [antisemitism], we condemn this act,’ maybe Mr. Bragg would have taken this case a little bit more seriously. And I call you out on it. Most of my friends and I are so disheartened with you and Mr Schumer, you don't understand."

'House Will Vote on a Bill to Lift the Debt Ceiling...Without Touching Social Security or Medicare'
McCarthy: “But since the President continues to hide, House Republicans will take action. OK, so here’s our plan. In the coming weeks the House will vote on a bill to lift the debt ceiling into the next year, save taxpayers trillions of dollars, make us less dependent upon China, curve our high inflation all without touching social security and Medicare. Simply put, it puts it on a fiscal responsible path in three ways, it limits, it saves, and it grows.”

Katie Porter, Piers Morgan Clash Over Riley Gaines’ Efforts to Keep Women’s Sports Fair
Rep. Katie Porter: "We should be able to have a civil debate. Nobody, including Riley Gaines, who I disagree with strongly, should be..."
Piers Morgan: "What do you disagree with? Out of interest.
Rep. Katie Porter: "I think it should be up to sporting bodies to make the decisions about who.."
Piers Morgan: "What has she said that is actually wrong?"
Rep. Katie Porter: "I think that what she has done is try to turn this.. we talked about people, you know, becoming... using things to kind of get likes and get clicks..."
Piers Morgan: "That's not what she's doing."
Rep. Katie Porter: "It's NOT??"
Piers Morgan: "I've got no problem with Riley Gaines personally, but all I've seen her do is stand up for women's rights. She actually competed against Lia Thomas, and it was obviously unfair. Lia Thomas won one of the NCAA races by 50 seconds against a bunch of biological females who simply could not keep up. That cannot be right. That cannot be fair."
Rep. Katie Porter: "That is something that I trust, I think our sporting bodies should be dealing with. and by the way, Riley is speaking up for herself, and that is her prerogative and I respect her free speech."
Piers Morgan: "I think she's speaking up for pretty much every female athlete in the world."
Bill Maher: "Wasn't that the point of Title 9? Title 9 was something in the early 70's. It was a MAJOR event in feminism. We finally have this law that says in colleges, and I think High Schools too, but definitely colleges- Women Sports have to be given equal to men's sports. So that woman aren't, you know- and this led to WNBA and lots of other stuff. This seems to be the opposite of that. There seem to be so many instances where wokeness is the opposite of what I grew up as liberalism. Liberalism was, let's give the women an equal shot. This is, let's put a male in the swimming pool with the women. I don't get it."
Piers Morgan: "It's crazy. And meanwhile, trans people who genuinely want to compete in athletics or swimming or whatever it may be. They're the one's who are suffering here. There needs to be found a way to compete fairly and justly."
Rep. Katie Porter: "Then what's your answer then?"
"I think there is one or two answers. Either they compete against their biological sex, as many of them did before. Or you create an entirely new category for transgender athletes. And then they are able to compete fairly. What you cannot do is continue to allow more and more transgender athletes to decimate women's records, in some cases irrevocably. It's just not fair."

Bud Light vs. America, DeSantis vs. The Donald and Yellen says Stop Lending! Tony Katz Live
If you missed it on Real Time with Bill Maher, Piers Morgan made Dem. Rep. Katie Porter look like a fool when discussing Riley Gaines and the importance of actually being a feminisit.
The people at Anheuser Busch tried to right the ship after their horrific entanglement with misogynist Dylan Mulvaney and Bud Light, but the words of the CEO did not meet the moment.
DeSantis has supporters, and they have an ad goign directly at President Trump on gun rights. And it is brutal.
Plus, Treasury Secretary Janet Yellen sees value in banks tightening lending so the Fed doesn't have to raise interest rates to lower inflation. Why don't they just stop the government spending?! Economist, Dr. Matt Will, has the story.

Governor Ron DeSantis: The Republican Party’s 'Culture of Losing' Needs to End
DeSantis: “You guys know Florida’s history as being a swing state. We had 1-point races, governor or president, for the previous decade, 2010, ‘14, ‘12, ‘16, ‘18. And so people told me, ‘You know, it’s a closely divided state, you barely got in. Don’t rock the boat. You don’t want to do anything that’s going to upset this very delicate political balance. Just try to keep your head down and not try to make too many waves.’ Well, I rejected that advice. My view was, I may have received 50% of the vote, but I earned 100% of the executive power and I intended to use that aggressively to pursue a conservative agenda.
And in times like these, there is no substitute for victory. Winners get to make policy. The losers go home. And I think we need to end — not so much in Ohio or in Florida, but I think nationwide the Republican Party has developed a culture of losing. I think that needs to end. No more excuses. Just get it done so we can save our country.”

Water on Your Private Property is Not Yours to Control
KATZ: "You mean, if I've got standing water on my property. I have a lake on my property. Mine. I've purchased it. I've purchased it specifically for it, and I of course have the total use of my property. What the White House and EPA are says is, 'no you don't.' So if I were to utilize that water to lets say, have cattle drink from. There argument is- they should have the right to tell you 'no that can't happen."
BURNETT: "Well, it's a little more complicated than that. It could be you didn't buy the property with the lake on it. Lets say you create a stock pond on your land. You bought some land, you decide to become a recreational farmer, you're gonna put a few cattle on there, so you get a bobcat and you dig out a stock pond. So you create a stock pond for your stock. Now- the Federal Government typically doesn't tell you that your cattle can't use the stock pond. BUT, if you wanted to refill that stock pond, or dump some fill dirt elsewhere around it, then they could say, 'no. no. you need a permit to fill that water.'
KATZ: 'uuuuh....'
BURNETT: 'On your property, within all your borders, within a specific state. There could be weird places where you own property in Texarkana, Texas, so it's on the border Texas and Arkansas and your lake borders both. There at least they could argue that interstate commerce is at risk, they could stretch the definition.
But if I'm in the middle of central Texas and I create a stock pond that is filled periodically by a windmill pumping water into it, the Federal Government is claiming 'we have some say over your use of that.'

EPA Admin. Regan Announces Strict Vehicle Emissions Rules: ‘This Is Historic News for Our Children’
REGAN: “That’s why today I’m pleased to announce that EPA is proposing the strongest ever federal pollution technology standards for both cars and trucks.
(Applause)
Together, today’s actions will accelerate our ongoing transition to a clean vehicles future, tackle the climate crisis head-on, and improve air quality for communities all across the country. Light, medium and heavy-duty vehicles are some of the biggest contributors to greenhouse gas pollution. The first set of proposed standards focus on light and medium-duty vehicles. It builds on EPA’s existing standards for Passenger cars and light trucks for model years 2023 to 2026. EPA estimates that this proposal would reduce our cumulative CO2 emissions by 7.3 billion metric tons from the years 2027 through 2055. That’s equivalent to eliminating all greenhouse gas emissions from the entire current United States transportation sector for four years. Overall, projected benefits could reach $1.6 trillion. The second set of proposed standards would apply to heavy-duty vocational vehicles such as delivery trucks, dump trucks, public utility trucks, transit, school buses and more. The proposed standards are the final pieces of EPA’s clean trucks plan and will complement the heavy-duty nitrogen oxide standards we established last December. Like the light and medium-duty proposal, the heavy-duty proposal uses performance-based technology standards that enable manufacturers to achieve compliance efficiently, based on the composition of their fleet. EPA estimates that the second proposal would reduce vehicle emissions of CO2 by 1.8 billion metric tons from the years 2027 to 2055. Overall, the projected net benefits of the heavy-duty proposal could reach $320 billion. So, folks, that’s close to $2 trillion in net benefit and over 10 billion tons of CO2 emissions avoided. This is historic news.
(Applause)
This is historic news for our children. It’s historic news for our climate. It’s historic news for our future.”

CBS News: Next Year, Anyone Earning Over $600 on Payment Apps, will Receive a 1099-K Form
COLBURN: “I was supposed to have a house call today.”
MACFARLANE (voice-over): “Monica Colburn helps run a Virginia hair salon. But like a growing number of Americans, she uses the flexible hours to earn some extra cash.”
MACFARLANE (on camera): “How many different side hustles do you have?”
COLBURN: “I think last year I had eight 1099s.”
MACFARLANE (voice-over): “She works weddings and promotes musicians collecting most of her income through payment apps like Venmo.”
COLBURN: “If I didn’t have multiple ways that somebody could pay me, I feel like I would lose business.
MACFARLANE: “The apps are easy to use. But starting next year, filing taxes for millions of people could become trickier. A new IRS rule will require anyone earning more than $600 on payment apps in 2023 to receive a 1099-K form. The old threshold was earning $20,000 over 200 transactions.”
Greene-LEWIS: “This is not a tax law change. This is just a reporting requirement for those third parties like Venmo, PayPal and the credit card companies.”
MACFARLANE: “The IRS expects an initial surge of 4 million of these forms next year, which it says it can handle.”
MACFARLANE (on camera): “But there are businesses concern handling all the paperwork from this change could be like taking on a whole another job in and of itself.”
MACFARLANE (voice-over): “Businesses like Dennis Turbeville, a Maryland furniture maker takes nearly all of his payments through apps and worries they’ll make a mistake when the government is asking for its cut.”
TUBERVILLE: “A $2,500 penalty for a business that’s doing $2 million a year, not a big deal. For somebody like me, that’s a big deal.”
MACFARLANE: “The IRS says money exchanged between friends shouldn’t be taxed and warns users to classify those transactions as personal, not goods and services. Scott MacFarlane, CBS News Alexandria, Virginia.”
