Why is Putin's army making the same mistakes they made a year ago? Wagner Mercenaries combined with the Donetsk Peoples Republic army are not sharing standard operating procedures. President Zellensky is determined to hold onto this fortress city while new western tanks arrive.

When WikiLeaks published 750,000 sensitive documents leaked by a US army intelligence private Chelsea Manning in 2010 it was the first time in human history that the top levels of government and military operations had been laid bare for the entire world to see. According to chat logs published by Foreign Policy, WikiLeaks in 2014 chose to turn down the opportunity to release 68 gigabytes worth of data about Russia's involvement in Ukraine and about corruption in the Russian government. The Truth About Japan's New Type-10 Tank
Is Japans new TYPE-10 Main Battle tank really under armored or is it actually amazing? As Japan moves to meet their massive military rearmament goal to double their defense budget, all eyes are turning to their own homemade Mitsubishi Type 10 main battle tank with its bling bling nano crystal Japanese steel armor. That might actually explain why it’s the world’s second most expensive tank ever produced at $9.8 million dollars per unit.
The first prototype for the new Japanese tank rolled off the Mitsubishi production line in 2006. The Type 10 has three separate weight loadouts to give the Japanese military more flexibility in how the tank is transported and deployed. The minimum loadout comes in at just 40 tons, which is much easier on Japan’s infrastructure and allows the tank to use 84% of their 17,920 total bridges in the country while most other Western designs could barely use 40%

Myanmar War, Why It's China's Achilles Heel
If you’re ever injured in an accident, you can check out Morgan & Morgan. You can submit a claim in 8 clicks or less without having to leave your couch. For more information go to https://ForThePeople.com/TASK
Myanmar civil war has major ramifications for China and the world at large. China wants access to Myanmar ports due to their proximity to the strait, as it gives them an easier way of moving Chinese goods in parts of the country that aren’t anywhere near their own domestic ports, as well as a secondary stop for their African bound shipments. Militarily with close access to the strait, it allows naval forces access to the entire Indian and Atlantic Ocean, and with growing tensions between India and China, it’s a strategically vital coastline for both nations to project power.
Video Edited by: Michael Michaelides
Written by: Chris Cappy and Justin Taylor
Arguably more important however, are Myanmar’s large deposits of rare earth metals, critical for the manufacturing of complex electrical components from smart phones to guidance systems for hypersonic missiles. China needs these resources in order to keep its technology production afloat as they currently stand as the world’s largest producer and refiner of rare earth minerals. This, to China, is not an economic edge that they can afford to lose.
To take advantage of both mining, and coastal access, Myanmar was an early target for China’s Belt and Road initiative. China began the construction of desperately needed infrastructure, new cities, as well as a deep water port in Kyaukphyu, which would allow them to bypass the strait of Malacca for oil importation.

Why Israel Now Has a Problem with Russia, Oy Vey
Why is Israel in a position where they are kind of forced to play nice with Russia, and how is Putin’s new relationship with Tehran driving Israel away? The war in Ukraine has clearly put new stress on this strange relationship.
Written by: Chris Cappy & Patrick Griffin
Edited by: Savvy Studios
But something major has changed the relationship with Russia and Israel in an unexpected way. The Abraham accords announced in August 2020 completely rewrote the security relationships in the middle east. It was passed under US President Trump the Abraham accords was an effort to “encourage efforts to promote interfaith and intercultural dialogue to advance a culture of peace among the three Abrahamic religions and all humanity.” The deal received bipartisan support in America and led to new forms of cooperation between two of the states that signed on Israel and the United Araba Emirates. but other muslim countries also improved relations with Israel like Azerbaijan and Sudan.
Why is that? According to Israel's Ministry of Defense, the value of Israeli defense exports to countries with which it normalized relations in 2020 reached $791 million. Nothing gets rid of thousands of years of fighting like getting together and trading weapons. In fact between 2016–2020, Israel arms imports to Azerbaijan made up about 70 percent of their major weapon imports — and about 17 percent of Israel's arms exports. Add on Bahrain, Morocco, and Eygpt all normalizing relations with Israel and you’ve got a real coombya moment worthy of your aunts coexist bumper sticker. There’s a new Israeli-Arab-US security order in the middle east aimed against Iran. Common enemy, check, weapons deals check, common favorite spread check.

Why the UK Challenger Tank is So Hot Right Now
Get Your Own Mini GOAT Replica Today! http://bit.ly/2OlOkHu
Of course it wouldn’t be a British tank without the ability to brew tea, and the Challenger II comes with not one, but two boiling vessels, or kettles. While the strategic logic for these is that it allows the crew to boil any water for consumption they find if they are unable to be resupplied with traditional logistics, we all know it’s so they don’t run the risk of not being able to have their afternoon cup of Earl Grey. The Challenger II first saw operational use at the turn of the millenia in 2000 where it was deployed for peacekeeping missions in Bosnia and Kosovo. Nothing says peace quite like a 120mm explosive tank round fired at 2200 feet per second.
Written by: Chris Cappy and Justin Taylor
Edited by: Savvy Studios
It’s first combat experience wasn’t until a few years later in 2003 during the invasion of Iraq, where 120 of the vehicles under the 7th Armoured Brigade saw action around the port city of Basra, where it destroyed a number of Iraqi T54 and 55 tanks. It was here that it earned its reputation for being an unstoppable behemoth. During urban operations, aka, the worst place for a tank to have to perform, one challenger II came under fire by RPG-7s. The first hit damaged the driver’s sights, as the commander ordered for the tank to back out of the area, it became stuck in a ditch after throwing track, meaning the tracked portion became unattached from the actual road wheels, effectively immobilizing it. While stuck, it would be hit by another fourteen RPGs, and a MILAN ATGM. The crew were able to hold their position in the tank completely uninjured, and it was later towed away for repairs, and most impressively, was back in operation just six hours later. Another Challenger II tank in the same battle would be struck by a reported 70 RPG rounds, and was still able to continue fighting, albeit the crew probably had a headache by the end of it.

There is one aspect to Russia’s invasion of Ukraine that has gone overlooked and that is the impact that Ukrainian partisans have had. These guerilla warriors or insurgents depending on how you view them have been actively harassing and hampering Russian forces since the start of the invasion. So let's look inside how these networks function, how effective their operations have been since the start of the war a year ago up to today, and how the Russian Armed Forces have chosen to retaliate against the Partisans.

China’s New H-20 Stealth Bomber is Worse Than You Think
National University is perfect for anyone interested in learning again! Find a new exciting career today: Veterans - http://bit.ly/3SoO6iX Active Duty Military - https://bit.ly/3lRnVW1
This new aircraft could change the balance of power in the world. Currently the United States is the only nation to operate a strategic stealth bomber fleet like the B-2. This new Chinese stealth bomber is the type of aircraft that is sent to destroy an entire enemy airfield or soften up defenses for an invasion. The H-20 would have major ramifications for a possible invasion of Taiwan if it is able to evade their air defense systems.
Written by: Chris Cappy & Justin Taylor
Video Edited by: Maksym Dimarov
But what kind of weapons and munitions would this stealth bomber drop if its stealthiness is truly able to match the American aircraft? It would drop a copy of the same bomb that the American stealth bombers use of course a JDAM copycat. China created the FT PGB in 2006 which is a family of chinese built precision guided munitions created at the China Academy of Launch Vehicle technology. They range from 100kg to 500 kg or 1,000 pounds. The F-12 variant has a rocket booster that can be attached to extend its range to 150 km, providing a release velocity of 600–1000 km/h.

Russia's Anti-Air Weapon Deployed by Both Sides in Ukraine

The 9K38 Igla family of missile systems represents the most advanced of the Soviet Union’s man-portable Anti-Air launchers so effective that we’ve seen it still in use today by both sides of the Ukraine conflict. During the early years of the Cold War, defense industries scaled down aircraft missiles to fit into man-portable launchers but 1960’s technology meant this design philosophy came with a lot of limitations. In 1960 The USSR began development of the Strela-2 as their first production Man-Portable Air Defense System, or MANPADS for short.
Written by: Chris Cappy & Diego Aceituno
Edited by: Ian Fitzgerald
The most modern Igla-S system weighs in at 19 kilograms or about 41 lbs, including the 11 kilogram missile and has a reported range of 6 kilometers up to an altitude of 11,000 feet, allowing it to engage targets in a wide bubble around the shooter. Igla launchers were distributed throughout the Red Army in regimental air defense networks and were even issued to Soviet submarines to help counter Anti-Submarine Warfare aircraft.
Like most MANPAD systems the Igla is a heat-seeking missile meaning once the shooter locks on to the target and fires the missile steers itself towards the hot exhaust and jet nozzles of an aircraft. The missile contains a gas generator, which drives a small gas turbine to provide electrical power. The pistons move the canards to steer the missile.

Why Japan's Military is Gladly Getting Ready for War
Go to https://curiositystream.thld.co/taskpurpose_0223 and use code TASKPURPOSE to save 25% off today. Thanks to Curiosity Stream for sponsoring today’s video!
Japan’s new defense strategy and their already existing massive economic influence in Southeast Asia will make them the west's secret weapon against communist authoritarian China. Japan’s Prime Minister Fumio Kishida recently unveiled on December 16th 2022 his country's new 5 year $320 billion dollar defense plan that will acquire 500 US made tomahawk cruise missiles that can strike Chinese territory for the first time. It will effectively double the size of Japan's military budget and make them the world’s third-largest military spender right after the United States and China. It’s not just an increase in weapons, their publicly released historic 2022 National Defense outlines sound justifications and legal arguments for this rearmanet as well as a change in their defense posture to deter aggression.
Oh no! Sound the alarms! The Japanese empire has woken up from its slumber and they’re getting ready to take over the world again! ” Obviously that’s absolutely ridiculous but tell that to North Korea, Russia and China who all took turns coming out to publicly denounce Japan’s new military plan as “dangerous” and alluding to Japan's history as an expansionist empire. Chinese Communist Party tabloid Global Times said “Japan has a history of straying into militarism and committing aggression and crimes against humanity, which has brought disaster to the region and the world and is now deviating from the track of post-war peaceful development. Apparently it’s only okay for China to increase defense spending and no one else. Yes Even 80 years after the last world war it’s hard for some people to forget. *people don’t forget meme*
In most modern discussions about great power politics we completely overlook Japan but I think a closer analysis will show you that this great nation holds the keys to keeping China in check. Many people do not understand just how much economic influence and soft power Japan projects despite having a somewhat self imposed limited military. Even though China’s GDP surpassed Japan’s in 2010. Japan is still the largest sponsor of infrastructure projects in Southeast Asia. Yes, that's even bigger than China’s massive efforts to expand with their Belt and Road Initiative throughout the region. As of 2021 Japan's investments in projects in Indonesia, Malaysia and the Philippines, Thailand and Vietnam is $259 billion compared to China’s $157 billion. This means Japanese banks lend more to Southeast Asia's five largest economies than the United States, UK and France combined. Doesn’t explain why my loan requests to Japanese banks are always denied but fair enough. Japan's massive construction projects across Asia give them tremendous credibility, respect, and influence in foreign policy decisions in the region. This makes Japan a closer rival to China than the US in this regard. Tokyo is the undisputed heavyweight champ of infrastructure investments in South East Asia even though China gets all the news reports about their belt and road initiative.
These projects include a subway system for Manila and a new East-west southern economic corridor that will link up Vietnam, Laos, Cambodia, Thailand and Myanmar to promote free trade. These are some of the projects Japan is changing the world with. So how does Japan compete against China in this field? They offer low interest rates of around .25% for 30 year loans which is way better than the 4% interest rates on China’s projects which have been criticized for debt trapping developing countries.

Why China Moved into South America
The Chinese Communist Party has quietly moved into Latin America since 2000 while the US was distracted by the Middle East and now Eastern Europe. Xi Jingpings growing influence in South America and the Caribbean continues. From Mexican Cartels to political unrest around the country. Even though Mexican Cartels are worse than you think, China in. Latin America is more dangerous than you think.
China is now their largest trading partner in many instances. Starting in the 2000 allowing them to corner strategically important lithium mines, further isolate Taiwan diplomatically, and pressure nations into following their authoritarian vision of the future. Based on World Economic Forum's data you can see trade between China and Latin America from $12 billion in 2000 to 315 billion in 2020.
An economic and security review commission reported Chinese military leaders visited with their counterparts in Latin America 215 times between 2002 and 2019.

Mexican Cartels Are Worse Than You Think
The Mexico-United States geopolitical relationship is strategically important but the armed cartel gangs are holding us back. Mexico shares a 2,000 mile long border. The DEA and Mexican army are trying to stop the cartels. Mexico and America have have close trade, cultural, and demographic ties. The United States military and army works with Mexican armed forces and police to prevent cartel attacks.

But there is one big threat to this important partnership: the powerful Mexican Transnational criminal organizations, the Cartels. According to this US department of homeland security study on Bi-national criminal proceeds, Mexican cartels earn between $19 and 29 billion dollars each year. I think we are finally at a point where these Cartels should be defined as a commercial insurgency and major threat to US National security interests but maybe not in the ways you might think. In this video we’ll also analyze the reasons why bilateral cooperation between these two great nations has recently started falling apart and the steps we might be able to take to improve relations.
On January 6th 2023 the Mexican military sent 3,000 soldiers to capture El Chapo’s son Ovidio Guzman in the city of Culiacán. Gang members set fire to vehicles and used them as roadblocks while shooting 50 caliber sniper rifles at military and civilian aircraft, shutting down the local airport for the entire day. Mexican military helicopters rained down heavy machine gun fire onto the Sinaloa Cartel gang members. Ovidio Guzman was captured and sent to face justice in Mexico city, but it came at the cost of 10 brave Mexican soldiers who were KIA and an additional 35 injured. 19 enemy cartel members were taken out and 21 more were arrested according to Mexico’s defense minister Sandoval. Mexican cartels have expanded into a strategic regional security threat for the United States of America.

Can the French AMX-10 RC Make a Difference?
Go to https://curiositystream.thld.co/taskpurpose_0123 and use code TASKPURPOSE to save 25% off today. Thanks to Curiosity Stream for sponsoring today’s video.
The French Army's AMX-10 RC infantry support vehicle by most Western standards falls into the modern categories of an Armored Reconnaissance or Infantry Support vehicle. According to its initial NATO classification in the 1980s, it is officially a “Heavy Armament Combat Vehicle” rather than a light tank, primarily due to its lack of tracks, which would make it a literal tank, and the fact that it doesn’t carry additional infantry, which would make it an infantry fighting vehicle. It can keep up with the light infantry’s MRAP or humvee. Using its 250 HorsePower Hispano-Suiza 115-2 supercharged engine gives it an insanely high max speed of 85kph, or almost 53 miles per hour on road and an on paper operational range of 1000km or 621 miles, blowing any vehicle out of the water in terms of distance this thing can cover on a single tank of gas.
Written by: Chris Cappy and Justin Taylor
Edited by: Savvy Studios
It might seem like weird keyboard warrior semantics to worry about how to classify a vehicle, but it’s actually kind of important because the classification helps us make some predictions on how it will perform on the battlefield in Ukraine. You don’t want your soldiers using it to do tank things if it’s not a tank. Maybe we can get that guy to make a documentary called what is a tank?

Why this German IFV is So Hot Right Now
Germany recently announced they are going to supply Ukraine with around 40 Marder Infantry Fighting Vehicles hopefully by March of 2023. This 50 year old vehicle is better than you might think. Germany issued development contracts to multiple companies, and 15 different prototypes for the Marder Infantry fighting vehicle were produced by 1963. In 1967, the Rheinstahl group created a third and final group of 10 prototypes that eventually led to the production of the Marder in 1969. Rheinstahl became the prime contractor, and the first Marder was delivered to the West German army in May 1971 By 1975 they’d produced over 2,100 Marders, which West Germany kept and stockpiled in the midst of the Cold War.

The Marder’s main armament is the 20mm Rheinmetall MK 20 Rh 202 autocannon that fires AP rounds at 1,100 m/s . It is mounted in the small two-man turret and is able to fire armor-piercing and high explosive rounds. The 7.62 mm MG3 machine gun attached coaxially to the left of the cannon allows the gunner to save main gun rounds if a soft target is in the open not behind cover. The MILAN anti-tank guided missile launcher can be attached to this turret, with up to 4 missiles carried inside the hull. I’ve seen conflicting reports on whether or not adding the MILAN missile launcher and its storage reduces the infantry capacity down to 5 dismounts.

This ammo storage on the Leopard is the main point that is seen as a possible problem for the tank. The claim is that if the front of the hull is penetrated in reality the whole tank will go up in smoke. Reports and video evidence show that 10 leopard tanks were destroyed by ISIS soldiers in Syria during one combat engagement. So what happened here? It could be that the Turkish army lacked the correct training and experience in combined arms warfare to deploy infantry around the tanks proximity in order to protect their armored vehicles vulnerable sides. Some versions of the Leopard do not have explosive reactive armor which means the Russian ATGM Kornet with a 600mm penetration rating would easily break through the armor.
Written by: Chris Cappy and Josh Simpson
Video Editing by: Savvy Studios
The Leopard 2 features spaced multilayer armor that combines steel plates, elastic and non-metallic materials throughout. The front of the Leopard 2A4 has vertically faced turret armor that is approximately 31 inches thick or 780mm. It was estimated that these tanks can resist 125mm APFSDS rounds fired from about a mile away. The Leopard 2A5 and newer versions feature angled arrow-shaped turret applique armor that is 59 inches or 1500 mm thick. So over time the tank has evolved to be fitted with more and more heavy armor.
But one of NATOs main advantages with their equipment remains their battlefield management computer systems which are unmatched by Russia. Russian forces have to rely on static filled radio transmissions and paper maps to plan operations.
Written by : Chris Cappy and Josh Simpson
Edited by : Michael Michaelides
Meanwhile the Leopard tank gives commanders a full picture and better real time understanding of the battlefield. The tank is equipped with the German EMES 15 fire control system that has a laser rangefinder as well as thermographic and infrared cameras. The laser rangefinder has a maximum range of 10,000 meters (6.2 miles) with a measuring accuracy within 10 meters at this range. The combined system provides the ability to hit moving targets up to 5,000 meters (3.1 miles) away while the Leopard 2 is itself on the move.

Russian Aerospace Forces officially approved the addition of the PPK-20 submachine gun into their survival kit for military pilots. The PPK-20 U differs from its predecessor the Vityaz-SN in a few key ways that make it actually a solid weapon for this particular mission set. Its lower weight is reportedly 2.5 kg or 5.5 lbs unloaded which is how it will be integrated in the pilot survival kit. In its shortest configuration it’s just 16 inches long allowing it to fit in the Russian KM-36 ejection seat.
Oryx, a website tracking Russian and Ukrainian loses has reported that the Russian airforce has now lost 142 combat aircraft over Ukraine including jets and helicopters since the invasion began. Dozens of those incidents reportedly lead to the Ukrainian armed forces capturing those Russian pilots but others may have escaped.

It’s enough firepower to make a former ground pounder blush.

The decision to axe the aircrafts production has resulted in the creation of just 187 operational F-22 fighter jets, which is less than half of the 381 the Air Force claimed they needed and far less than the 750 they originally wanted in the 1980s. This choice is now being called short sighted as we’re starting to see it result in serious force structure problems within the already stretched thin Air Force. Here’s the problem: the need for stealth fighters to deter both Russia in Europe and China in the Pacific was never accounted for and since the F-22’s highly secretive stealth technology was never approved for export NATO is now severely short handed. Let’s find out why canceling the F-22 is worse than you think. But first.

In this video we’ll analyze Ukraine's very own domestically produced T-84 main battle tank. In order to understand the Ukrainian T-84 we need to look at its history. In the 1980’s the Soviet Government set out to build a better version of the T-80 tank. It would be faster and run on a more efficient diesel engine. To pull this off, they hired the Kharkiv Morozov Design Bureau, a tank factory located in Ukraine’s 2nd biggest city. At the time Ukraine was still a part of the Ukrainian Soviet Socialist Republic which was a part of the Soviet Union. KMDB delivered in 1985 with the creation of the T-80UD main battle tank, which ran on a faster, more efficient 1,000 hp 6TD engine. The new tank was first publicly shown at the 1990 Moscow Victory Day Parade right in time for the total collapse of the Soviet Union a year later in 1991.
