RIP Nighthawk Stealth Attack Aircraft....or not?
Use my link https://ridge.com/taskandpurpose to get up to 30% off through December 20th and enter free to win a Ridge bundle worth $4,000. Video Sponsored by Ridge.
Initial tests of prototypes and test aircraft revealed that despite the Nighthawk’s ability to stay off of a radar, the delta wing design and harsh geometry made it aerodynamically poor, and unstable in flight. This spurred the air force to secretly establish a dedicated Nighthawk squadron before the first planes were even off of the production line, under then Colonel Sandy Sharpe who would lead the formation. After the first test flights of the F117s were conducted, Colonel Sharpe demanded two changes to the airframe, enlarge the tail fins to decrease wobbling, and to paint it black, as he believed it would allow for better visual concealment at night. That, and in the words of Alan Brown, the skunkworks project manager for the Nighthawk, “Real men don’t fly funny pastel airplanes.” that’s probably not at all like how he sounded and I’m certain he could have kicked my ass.
Written by: Chris Cappy & Justin Taylor
Edited by: Ian Fitzgerald
The final design that resulted after initial testing was increased to a wingspan of 43 feet, with the entire fuselage being 65 feet long, weighing roughly 52,500lbs dry. As both speed and agility were low on the priority list of requirements, twin GE F404 Turbofan engines were used. These delivered a combined thrust of 21,200 lbs. This non-afterburning engine could only bring the Nighthawk up to a max speed of Mach 0.9, or just below the speed of sound. This of course was not an issue seeing as afterburners create massive heat signatures, and the sonic boom from supersonic flight would probably be a good indication there is a military jet in the area. The engines were encased within the fuselage, and dispersed the heat of the exhaust over a wider area using distinct slit exhaust ports while enabling it to mix with cooler air before leaving the aircraft. These twin slit exhausts were virtually invisible to most infrared trackers at the time.
The nighthawk could carry a payload of two air to ground munitions which might seem like a limited payload but that’s up to 5,000 lbs of boom boom in a stealth aircraft which is insane that means 2 munitions each weighing 2,000 lbs could fit in there. Those laser guided bombs could hit targets within a combat radius of about 590 miles. Tyler Rogoway who runs the warzone explains the purpose for the black jet best. It was created carry and employ nuclear gravity bombs—namely the B57 and B61 that are shown front and center in this image.
The aircraft's cockpit included an Aircraft Monitoring And Control panel that interfaced with the Permissive Action Link on the nuclear weapons that allowed them to be armed and programmed prior to delivery. Because I know I can only speak for myself personally but I hate having to program my nuclear weapons at the last minute. It's like can’t we just program this on the ride over there?
So remember this thing comes out in the early 1980s and if you’re the soviet union seeing it then it would have been a scary thing to see because it was designed to silently sneak in and drop a big one. Giving new meaning to the term silent but deadly. Sorry that was dumb I’m dumb.

WHAT Happened to the Navy's Zumwalt Destroyer?

This is the US Navy’s USS Zumwalt destroyer. The project has quickly become too expensive for the Navy to justify before Congress, already crossing more than $22 billion dollars by 2008 with billions more expenses in sight. As a result, the Department of the Navy stated that they didn’t even want the Zumwalt anymore. They diverted the funds to instead buy more conventional designs like the Arleigh Burke-class that the Navy has operated since the 1990s. That’s why I have a soft spot in my heart for the Zumwalt because I too know what it's like to be rejected and underappreciated. We've all been the navy’s Zumwalt at one point in our lives.
She was supposed to be the US Navy’s destroyer of the future. Instead she was canceled after only 3 ships were built out of a planned 32. The three remaining ships have been in a state of limbo: with no real mission capabilities or purpose like the sad anon of the navy. The entire development story is a rollercoaster of changing priorities over several decades. But fear not the Zumwalt might get the last laugh because in 2023 it will become the first US navy ship to install new hypersonic missiles. Can the navy still salvage the Zumwalt concept? I’m your average infantryman @cappyarmy on instagram lets find out.

How Drone Warfare Changed Everything
Get Entered to WIN this awesome Skywalker Fixed Wing Drone!
https://go.getenteredtowin.com/taskandpurpose
DEADLINE to ENTER is 10/29/23 @ 11:59pm (PST)
There is no debate that weaponized drones have forever changed the tactical-level conduct of war. Even nations without access to larger drones are showing just how dangerous cheap commercial quadcopters are on the battlefield. Just look at this video of a weaponized civilian drone HAMAS used to take out an Israeli remote control machine gun during their October attack. Or their use against comtmunications towers. Here is another video of a commercial drone being prepped for use in the ongoing Sudan civil war. You now have the power of surveillance and close air support organic at the squad level for a few thousand dollars instead of a few million.
But nowhere is the combat use of drones (small and large) more prevalent than in the ongoing war between Ukraine and Russia. Small quadcopters and fixed wing drones with increasingly heavy payloads are able to hit soft targets.

How Libya was Overthrown is Worse Than You Thought
A big thanks to Ridge Wallet for sponsoring today’s video. Check them out here: https://ridge.com/taskandpurpose and use code "TASKANDPURPOSE" to get 10% off
Over a decade after the war in Libya and nation is still ruled by warlord factions unable to build state institutions or hold free elections. The vacuum of power in Libya directly led to weapons and terror funneled into the Sahel region which contributed to a string of recent military coups. The instability also caused a migrant crisis that reached all the way to Europe. The collapse of the Libyan government led to a rise in extreme groups inside Egypt that then spilled over into Israel.

This American Long Range Missile is in High Demand Now
Get your own Goat Model Today! Shop here: https://bit.ly/3LNKBk7
This is the US Army’s Tactical Missile System that can yeet missiles 300 kilometers (190 miles) within a margin of error of give or take 10 meters. You’re not placing warheads on foreheads, you're choosing which strand of hair you want to hit on the enemy's dome. So why is the ATACM so hot right now? Major news outlets reported that on September 21st, President Biden promised a small number of ATACM missiles to Ukrainian President Zelensky in a closed door summit at the White House. No official statement has confirmed the decision and no ATACMS are included in the latest $325 million dollar security assistance package, at least four US officials speaking anonymously leaked the news to the press.
Written by: Chris Cappy & Diego Aceituno
Edited by: Maksym
If true, the decision to send the long range ATACM missiles ends over a year of the Ukrainian government asking for this capability. It’s a major reversal of American policy because until now, the US had refused to send ATACMs to Ukraine, citing a variety of reasons from the weapon’s long range would allow strikes into Russian territory, along with concerns that the US didn’t have enough to send without seriously compromising its ability to fend off other threats like China. At least China doesn’t get triggered in the comments section when I say something redundant like ATACM missile.
How and why was this system developed? Are defense analysts correct that the US might not have enough missiles to handle emerging threats in the coming years? And why is the US government changing its mind about sending the weapon to Ukraine after over a year of denials? I’m your average infantryman @cappyarmy on instagram let's find out.
Background
Take a look at the huge missile loaded into the ATACM. That missile weighs 227 kilograms or 500 lbs. The M270’s conventional loadout has two pods with six missiles each, but at 13 feet in length and 22 inches in diameter, the MGM-140 takes up an entire pod by itself, meaning an M270 can only carry two ATACMS instead of 6 regular rocket artillery. It’s so big that when it's a unitary bomb like this it has a kill radius of about 262 feet or 80 meters. According to my average infantryman math that’s 60% larger than a 155mm artillery shell. The ATACM was first made famous during Operation Desert Storm, its a ground-launched, guided ballistic missile that can be fired from either the M270 MLRS or M142 HIMARS launch vehicles. The Washington Post reported that they estimated the US army had 1,486 ATACMS in its arsenal. 364 are armed with cluster munitions and the rest with unitary bombs. How accurate those numbers are I’m not sure because The Pentagon won’t officially release the exact number it has in inventory for national security reasons. They sound accurate when you consider the US actually terminated the ATACMS program in 2007 because the costs were too high to justify it at the time. Remember this was back when the focus of the US military was now on counterinsurgency warfare and the ATACM had limited use there. This meant no new ATACMS missiles were added to the US inventory during that time. However the “ Service Life Extension Program” did refurbish older missiles into current operational versions. That didn’t start until 2016 renewed missiles didnt reach the US until 2018. Around 4,000 ATACMS missiles of various types were produced by Lockheed-Martin in total. Minus the 600 that were fired in Iraq. But that doesn’t mean the US has 3,400 left over because Missiles systems degrade over time. The chemical compounds in rocket motors, explosives, hydraulic systems get old and become ineffective over time. Its reported shelf life is ten years so that could mean the only operational missiles the US Army has might only be whatever has been refurbished and delivered by Lockheed-Martin since 2018 which does make 1,486 sound right.

How F-16 Fighter Jets Dominate the Sky in Ukraine
Go to https://bit.ly/3PRUxvp to check out Armasights outstanding selection of devices.
The United States of America recently confirmed it will deliver F-16 fighter jets to the Ukrainian air force, ending months of will-they or won’t-they speculation and just down right teasing. The F-16 is a multirole 4th generation fighter jet that has formed the backbone of Western air forces since the 1980s, with 4,600 aircraft produced and 2,100 in-use by 20 different countries, the F-16 is the most widely operated fighter in the world.
Written by: Chris Cappy & Diego Aceituno
Edited by: Savvy Studios
Along with donations of jets from other NATO allies, Ukraine will start to receive dozens of F-16s by the end of 2023, with many more to come in 2024. The West has held off on delivering Western aircraft to Ukraine until now for 2 reasons. First there were potential fears that Russia would view the transfer as a serious escalation leading to retaliation and second U.S. officials believed that learning to fly and logistically support the technologically advanced F-16 might be more difficult and time consuming than it was actually worth. Exact numbers are difficult to come by. It appears Denmark will send 6 this year and from what I could dig up it looks like they’ll eventually send a total of 19. The Netherlands has a total of 42 in their inventory but it’s unclear yet how many of them will be sent.
News agencies are naturally going bonkers with predictions about how these F-16 will either turn the tide of the war in Ukraine, or won’t make a difference at all. So in this video hopefully we can try to untangle some of that confusion. So why is the F-16 such a big deal for the air war over ukraine? I’m your average infantryman chris cappy let's find out.

UKRAINE BROKE THROUGH Russian Defensive Lines what's next?
Can Ukraine make it to the sea of Azov ? Will Russian forces be able to readjust to the gains recently made? Since then the picture on the battlefield has become more clear and on September 23rd Ukrainian forces have since broken through the 2nd line of defenses in Verbove which means they’ve cleared a path through the anti-tank obstacles allowing armor to pour through. They are still 20 km from Tokmak which if they are able to capture that city it will represent a real breakthrough in all the layers of defensive lines and it's the stated minimum goal of Ukraines offensive at this point.

The redeployment of the Russian 76th Guards Air Assault Division is Russia’s hope that this force will stop the Ukrainian advance attempt in their tracks. This unit is said to be one of the most combat effective and best Russian units there are. Who exactly is Ukraine up against? In command of this elite unit is 43 year old Dennis Shishov he likely has the rank of Major General he has received a Hero of the Russian Federation medal for his prior actions at the Dnieper River in 2022. Reports indicate “Denis' unit was responsible for seizing and holding the bridge near Kakhovka and reportedly repelled 7 attacks. He received shrapnel wounds to the head, but apparently survived.” To give you an idea of his qualifications he completed Ryazan Higher Airborne Command School in (2003), and training at the Combined Arms Academy of Russian Armed Forces in (2014). So in theory he has experience in planning combined arms maneuvers.

How Taiwan's Homemade Armored Vehicle Can Stop China
The son of a Vietnam veteran wants to help vets get their PACT Act benefits. Learn more at bit.ly/45ZX0JY
Is Taiwan’s domestically produced CM-32 the right vehicle for the island's defense? It has a main gun bigger than the US Bradley and it can carry 2 extra soldiers, a full squad of 8 dismounted infantry all while weighing only half as much. That said, the procurement process has been dragging on for 20 years, and production has run into all kinds of setbacks including shocking legal accusations of Chinese espionage. What does the CM-32 tell us about Taiwan's unique military industrial complex? Will those speedbumps slow the clouded leopard down? What kind of specific weapons systems and capabilities make this vehicle a great choice for Taiwan?
Written by: Chris Cappy and Justin Taylor
Edited by: Savvy Studios
The CM-32 cost only about $21.9 million USD to develop, which is an absolute bargain in military R&D. Each unit runs you about $2 million bucks half that of the similar American Stryker. The CM32 base design is 24 tons. Though unlike most western crews of three, the CM32 is only crewed by 2, a driver located in a front left hatch, and a commander/gunner who has high intensity thermal sights to allow for long range spotting and lasing targets. This increases the effective range of each weapon system beyond what would be capable of manned operation, and gives the crew the ability to visually engage targets up to 8 kilometers away. So you could use the thermal optic to pretty much look across the Taiwan strait and see Xi Jinping waving back at you. Not really but that might be a good thing.
Gangs all over the world love this next feature. The Turret is fully stabilized which allows you to do what I call combat drive by shootings with an armored vehicle. It can hit targets while traveling at speeds of over 74 miles per hour over hard top paved roads. I would feel bad for the dismounts in the back if they were going that fast though, because anything over 30mph in a military vehicle feels like riding a spaceship reentering the atmosphere. The turret comes standard with twin T-85 smoke grenade launchers, both as good obscuration for the vehicle itself, and for concealment of infantry if they dismount under fire.

Prigozhin’s Death is a Nightmare for Russia
Video Sponsored by Ridge. Check them out here: https://ridge.com/TASKANDPURPOSE. Use my code “TASKANDPURPOSE” for 10% off your order and for an entry to win a Hennessey Ford Bronco or $75K through September 30th! US Only
There’s a claim that Wagner mercenary leader Prigozhin faked his own death via a plane crash with plans to resurface in central africa at a later date where he will build a massive mercenary army getting rich off the fuel resources. Only to make us all look like a bunch of dummies. That’s right, Prigozhin just played us like a damn fiddle. Oh wait, nevermind that's just the plot to Metal Gear Solid V the phantom pain.
Sudan Wagner AFRICA Video: https://youtu.be/tQBqKKC-vks
Take a look at these two jets, can you tell them apart? Maybe you can if you’re an aviation sleuth. According to Reuters both of these planes are linked to the Wagner group, and both were flying identical routes the very same day and time that one crashed. RA02795 never made it from Moscow to St. Petersburg as we know, but according to flight data RA07248 completed its round trip. The operating company of the second aircraft, RA07248, said that there is no connection to Wagner - but this is contrary to other Russian media reporting. This has led to wild speculation that Prigozhin wasn’t on the plane that crashed.
Written by: Chris Cappy & Patrick Griffin
Edited by: Savvy Studios
We also know that Prigozhin thought of himself as a master of disguise. No one could match his stealth craft. When Russian authorities raided his offices in response to the June mutiny attempt, leaked photos showed multiple passports of Prigozhin under different aliases, wigs, and selfies of Prigozhin in disguise. We also know that he employs a “body double” and allegedly “[m]ultiple people changed their names to Yevgeny Prigozhin to help hide his travel and location.” The first question that comes to people's mind is why did Prigozhin seem so certain he wouldn’t get knocked off when everyone from President Biden to the collective consciousness of the internet were equally sure it would happen? Prigzohin likely overestimated his importance to Putin and thought he couldn’t be replaced. Taking him out even after he had been given public official reassurances to his safety also sends a direct message to Russia’s elites that they are unable to trust promises from Putin.
We have to understand that from inside Russia many people believe him to be a national hero akin to something like how General Patton is viewed as a hero in the United States. Meaning he might have believed this street credit would protect him. Meanwhile the Kremlin had spent the last 2 months changing all their Wagner venmo passwords so they would have no problem wiring money from their accounts in Africa.

Why Special Forces Never Switched to the SCAR
Get Your Own Mini GOAT Replica Today! Shop here: https://bit.ly/3Eh1z6d
While the SCAR-Light and -Heavy were designed and built in tandem, their performance and service histories diverged in 2010. The weapons were mostly living up to the hype but there were some early teething issues holding them back. Every weapon runs into this teething problems but what makes the difference between success and failure is how easy it is to correct these early problems. In the case of the SCAR, the Light version named the MK 16 had the misfortune of having more issues and less capability advances than its heavier MK17 version.
Written by: Chris Cappy & Diego Aceituno
Edited by: Michael Michaelides
The MK 16 had the distinction of creating a brand new class of malfunction never seen before. It was particularly vulnerable to double and triple feed malfunctions from bad magazines. Bad or worn magazines were pretty common to most weapons around the 2000-2010 timeframe. All that extra space above the bolt and carrier assembly ironically could make the weapon less reliable as extra rounds from a multi feed malfunction went straight up into the enlarged recesses built for the operating rod. In barney style layman’s terms this means the weapon had just enough space for thin 5.56 rounds to get stuck in the attic, but not enough extra space for them to fall back out. US Army special forces veteran Jeff Gurwitch said he saw a squadmate with 4 empty casings stuck in his FN Scars chamber. What’s next an octopulet feed error?
Reportedly the only way to clear the jam was a time consuming field strip of the weapon.
Another problem was actually caused by SOCOM itself and quickly turned into the SCAR’s most controversial “feature.” In the requirements drawn up, someone involved in the drafting was convinced a reciprocating charging handle was key to a weapon’s reliability. That means that as each round is fired the charging handle moves forward and back with the bolt instead of staying fixed in place like on the M4. The thought process behind this was a soldier could use the charging handle like a forward assist, pushing a gummed-up bolt into battery with a quick slap.

Why America’s New Submarine is their Secret Weapon
Go to https://buyraycon.com/taskandpurpose for 20% off your order! Brought to you by Raycon.
This ballistic missile submarine is slated to replace the aging Ohio Class subs currently in use. Second only to aircraft carriers, nuclear powered submarines are the most complex craft of the American arsenal. They are a major player in American global military strategy, and how the United States plans to keep its edge against other major world players such as China. When we think of the United States military being used in an international political capacity, we typically think air craft carrier groups sent to another nation’s coastline, or troops deployed to potential conflict zones, but rarely are submarines mentioned in this, despite the fact that they are a critical lynch pin in what is known as America’s nuclear triad.
Written by: Chris Cappy and Justin Taylor

In short, the nuclear triad is a nation's way of guaranteeing that it never loses the ability to use its nuclear arsenal. This include first ground launched land based nuclear silos, second long range stealth bombers like the B2 or new B21, and third submarine launched nuclear ballistic missiles. When these capabilities are arranged like this it gives you a triangle which is my favorite shape of deterrence. Without any one of these options you would not have a credible hypothetical retaliation. Submarines would survive an enemies first strike of nuclear weapons against the mainland of the United States and be able to retaliate.
In game theory this hypothetically prevents an enemy from ever using its weapons in the first place. Although, Even though I have a bit of the ‘tism even I know people do not operate logically and rationally like game theory robots. Basically The theory is that the enemy could knock out one of your delivery options with a first strike against you but likely never all three at the same time. The US navy puts it this way. The Submarines are operated in a manner that makes their locations unpredictable, while still ensuring that our adversaries know that we have the ability to hold them at risk. This enduring, certain deterrent force acts as an important stabilizer; it is always there and always at the ready.

Why Sudan's Civil War Has Ripple Effects Around the World
Go to https://tryfum.com/TASKPURPOSE and use code TASKPURPOSE to save an additional 10% off your order today.
The conflict in Sudan is part of a larger pattern of civil wars, coups and general instability inside the African continent. On April 15th 2023 the Rapid Support Forces launched a campaign against the Sudanese Armed Forces. The ripple effect of this will be felt by all of us. This war will effect not only the people of Sudan but also the wider world. This is in part because Sudan has two key geographic features that put them in a strategically important role. The first is they’re located right on the Red Sea which is where about 10% of global trade passes through thanks to the Suez Canal. The second is Sudan is home to where the white and blue Nile rivers merge into the main Nile river. Sudan has 60% of the Nile Basin in their territory. The big takeaway here is they are upstream from Egypt who depend on the security and safe management of this water resource.

On Top of that, Africa in general is becoming increasingly important on the world stage because It’s estimated that by 2050, 1 in every 4 people in the world will live in Africa. This is because more than half of Africa’s 54 different nations are estimated to double by 2050 thanks in part to fast improving mortality rates. I think this combined with the fact that 60% of the world's arable land is located here means Africa is poised to become an important geopolitical player in the future. It appears like this pattern of conflict that we’re witnessing might be growing pains. The people of these nations are fighting to determine the direction of their future, fighting to have a say in who they partner with and which faction controls their valuable natural resources.

The Truth About Russia's "Missing" SU-57 Stealth Fighter

Russia claims their Sukhoi Su-57 multirole fighter jet is a state of the art fifth generation stealth aircraft. But have we ever seen the Russian plane out in public in actual combat before? Or is this like the Russian T-14 tank with wings? What is the story behind Sukhoi SU fighters vs. Mikoyan MIG fighters?
Written by: Chris Cappy and Josh Simpson
Edited by: Maksym
The work for what would eventually become the Su-57 began in 1979 when the Soviet Union outlined a need for a next-generation fighter aircraft to enter service in the 1990s. They launched the I-90 program in the eighties with the aim of developing a multi-role fighter with substantial ground attack capabilities to replace the MiG-29 and Su-27 in frontline tactical aviation service. Two projects were designed to fulfill this need: The MFI or Multifunctional Frontlight Fighter program and the LFI, a program designed to make a lighter fighter jet with respectable air-to-ground capabilities.
But wait slow down for the slow learning soldiers like myself in the back of the class. What the heck is a multirole fighter. BAE systems labels it as “Swing role aircraft” quote: “An aircraft that can accomplish both air-to-air and air-to-surface roles on the same mission and swing between these roles instantly offers true flexibility. This reduces cost, increases effectiveness and enhances interoperability with allied air forces' ' So pilots can take on all enemies, generals can send one aircraft for all jobs and the military industrial complex gets to save money… Everyone wins!

Someone Sent Me Leaked Documents on the US Armys New XM30
Video Sponsored by Ridge. Check them out here: https://ridge.com/TASKANDPURPOSE. Use my code “TASKANDPURPOSE” for 10% off your order and for an entry to win a Hennessey Ford Bronco or $75K through September 30th! US Only
The systems engineer who made this complaint believes that the XM30 capabilities will be limited by this strict requirement. I know my first thought was how could 55 tons not be enough? However, it is possible because the XM30 is going to field a brand new 30mm or 50 mm autocannon. That alone will eat up a lot a lot of tonnage. This turret will be remotely controlled and unmanned. Why does the vehicle need a giant cannon? We’ll the XM913 chain gun produced at Picatinny Arsenal is going to shoot a brand new ‘Supershot’ warhead that will replace the old school traditional High Explosive round that we’re all familiar with.
Written by: Chris Cappy
Video Editing: Michael Michaelides
Because the military has had larger caliber autocannons for decades. In fact the prototype 35 and 40mm caliber cannons were developed by Rheinmetall all the way back in 1987 for the German Marder. I think the reason the US Army is only now starting to adopt it is a similar reason as to why they are going back to the battle rifle. There is a whole lot of new sensor technology and optics that are allow gunners to find and accurately hit targets farther away. Drone identify targets miles away allowing you to leverage the abilities of larger cannons. When I spoke to general dynamics at the AUSA convection they gave me a hint about how the armor industry sees the future doctrine going. Because the XM30 will likely fire off small drones from tubes on the back of the vehicle that search for the enemy an identify targets are greater distance.

Why the Niger Coup is Worse Than You Think
Several coup de ta’s around the African continent threaten to spiral out of control into a much wider conflict. France and the US seem to be getting sidelined in favor of Russia. French military forces have been located in the region for the past ten years. European countries, the EU and the United Nations have intersts here. Niger’s elite presidential guard, trained in part by the United States, had the sole purpose of protecting the Presidency and yet on July 26th 2023 they overthrew the democratically elected government. Guy come on, you had one job! But all hope isn’t lost because In response, a bloc of West African nations told the coup leaders that they have to reinstate the ousted president or face military intervention.

Early Wednesday morning July 26th, 2023, at 4:33 AM, the Niger Presidential Office began making unusual posts on the social media platform formally known as Twitter. This tweet read: “The President of the Republic and his family are doing well. The Army and the National Guard are ready to attack the elements of the GP involved in this mood swing if they do not return to better feelings.” that sounds pretty sus to me whats going on over there?
Behind the screens, a group of high-ranking military officers arrested the President at his palace, essentially holding him hostage. The Junta called themselves “The National Council for the Safeguard of the Homeland” For all the average infantrymen out there, Junta means a military or political group that rules a country after taking power by force. Then a spokesperson for the junta got on TV wearing the most strikingly blue blazer and said quote; “The defence and security forces … have decided to put an end to the regime you are familiar with.” Instantly nations around the world condemned these actions as “illegal,” Later that morning, as Niger’s citizens in the capital of Neeamay woke up to the news and responded with pro-democracy protests outside the Presidential Palace.

Why US Troops Fought Wagner Mercenaries in Syria
What happened when a force of Wagner mercenaries faced off against elite US special forces operators in a proxy war in Syria in February 2018? What geopolitical concerns brought each side there in the first place? This event called the battle of conoco fields marks the first time Americans and Russians met in ground combat since an American Expeditionary Force was sent to Siberia during the 1917 Russian Civil War. We finally were able to observe how old Soviet horde tactics fared against modern U.S. tactics and weapon systems - and the results were surprising.
Written by: Chris Cappy and Patrick Griffin
Edited by: Michael Michaelides
To set the stage, In November 2015, the Obama administration first authorized the deployment of U.S. special forces inside Syria where a civil war had been raging since 2011. The goal was twofold to the publicly stated task of assisting local rebels in their battle against the terrorist organization ISIL and the less official goal of preventing Iran from having a clear route to smuggle weapons into Iraq while also protecting the oil field development. If the Iranian forces inside Syria were allowed to successfully take the town of al-Tanf, there would be a direct supply route link between Iran's capital of Tehran, Iraq’s capital of Baghdad and Syria’s capital of Damascus. US soldiers had a side quest mission to prevent this.
Only two months prior in September 2015 the Russian military intervened in Syria on the opposite side supporting the Assad Regime. Russia couldn’t afford to lose another ally in the middle east and preventing collapse would increase their influence in the region. Wagner had just been established one year prior in 2014 and an estimated 5,000 Wagner soldiers were sent to train, advise and coordinate Syrian forces. This is a job similar to what the US special forces are tasked with. At this point the Syrian government was widely perceived to be on a collision course for imminent collapse and unacceptable outcome for Russia.
In 2018, U.S. supported Kurdish and Arab fighters operating under the “Syrian Democratic Forces” (SDF) in the north eastern Syrian province of Deir el-Zour. The US controlled the territory east along the Euphrates river. Meanwhile, Russian Wagner Mercenaries, and Bashar al Asad’s Syrian forces supplemented with Iranian-armed militia groups, patrolled the west banks of the river. Life in this area is heavily concentrated along the river. Travel just a couple hundred meters away from either side of its banks and the terrain becomes an endless wasteland of sand.

Why Pakistan's on the Brink of Collapse...
If you’re ever injured in an accident, you can check out Morgan & Morgan. Their fee is free unless they win. For more information go to https://www.forthepeople.com/free-case-evaluation/get-a-lawyer/?utm_source=youtube&utm_medium=influencer&utm_campaign=TaskPurpose&s=86%3A2313
Why is Pakistan always seemingly on the brink of collapse and why does it even matter if it did? In 2023 Pakistan faced inflation rates of 22% devaluing their money while having to fight off more than 3 times the amount of terrorist attacks than they faced in 2018. Creating a risk where if the country did collapse analysts warned terrorist groups could seize control of their 200 nuclear weapons like some kind of Tom Clancy novel. Destabilization here could have awful consequences not just for the Pakistani people but the entire world. I want to look at the role the Pakistani military has played in both trying to hold their country together and fueling its instability.

Between 1950 and 1965 both the US and Chinese military were largely responsible for building and training the Pakistan army. By 1954, the U.S Army helped them raise six armored regiments some of which exist to this day. US military Aid to Pakistan would peak in 1962 with 2.3 billion dollars worth of assistance. This is also when Pakistan first stepped up their cooperation with their neighbors in China. Since the 1963 Sino-Pakistan Agreement, the Pakistani military has had close relations with China. This unclassified CIA intelligence memorandum for the Nixon library says (pg7) Since large-scale Chinese military aid began in 1965, Pakistan has received 78 MIG-19 fighters and 12 IL-28 light bombers. Its armored forces have received 160 T--59 medium tanks and a srnall number of T--34s. China has reportedly delivered enough mortars and recoilless rifles to equip two infantry divisions and a number of l22-rnm. howitzers, anti aircraft guns, and trucks.

What Happened to Russia's New AK-12 Rifle?
Get Your Own Mini GOAT Replica Today! https://bit.ly/43Rj9ZX
Why did the Russian military switch from the AK-74M to the new AK-12 as their primary rifle for their rank and file soldiers? How has the new rifle performed in combat so far based on early reports from the front lines in Ukraine? It might seem strange to switch platforms especially since the new one fires the same exact 5.45mm ammunition from the same exact magazine with similar rates of fire.
Written by: Chris Cappy & Diego Aceituno
Edited by: Savvy Studios
But it's more complicated than simply comparing weapon stats one to one, because once you pop open the hood you realize the AK-12 was originally meant to be delivered as one single part of a much larger whole. It was a component of the major overhaul of the Russian infantry modernization program, called “Ratnik,” It’s like Aristotle famously said, the whole is greater than the sum of its parts and that’s the case here the AK-12 is one single part that when combined with all the Ratnik pieces , promised to create an infantryman 10 times more capable.
But was the Russian ministry of defense able to successfully roll out those upgrades? And are the rumors true about the AK-12 needing to get a complete redesign after poor soldier feedback from their experiences fighting in Ukraine? Join me as I take a deep dive into the updates on how Russia’s infantry modernization program is playing out in real time with their new rifle, the AK-12.
