PSX-FPKG is a tool which allows jailbroken PS4 users to easily build their own PS1 packed PKG files to install. All that's needed is a PS1 game in a single BIN format, a few photos of your choice, and a few minutes of your time to get the game packaged up into a PKG file. PSX-FPKG has recently been updated with many new features thanks to a new PS1 emulator being included within the software. This not only brings us many new tweaks to build games, as well as settings to access in-game, but a HUGE one here is the ability to use multiple discs! Be warned: this does rely on emulation, and so far does not have anywhere near the compatibility we saw with the PS2 emulator on PS4! That means several games will work perfectly, several will have minor issues, and others will have major issues or might not work. One benefit many owners of modified PS3 consoles have enjoyed has been region unlocking the console's Blu-ray and DVD playback features, adding the ability to watch out-of-region films or TV shows to the PS3! Although this could be as simple as changing a setting within an application, it turns out that might only be the case for some users depending on which console and modification you have. I made this video to help explain the differences in region codes, the limitations of NTSC vs. PAL content per console, and deliver three different methods in the hopes of getting one to work for the viewer. This tutorial does assume you have already jailbroken your PS3 and have a basic understanding of how to use a modified console. A PS3 running full Custom Firmware (CFW) will be the BEST option for this tutorial, as there is no guarantee a console running PS3HEN will be able to play out-of-region content successfully. Over 15 years ago I held in my hands a copy of the "Arabic Edition" of Resident Evil 4, a fanmade mod attempting to localize the game for Middle East. What I observed from this fanmade version of the game was certainly a valiant effort, but admittedly a bit rough to say the least. I've explained this to friends over the years, and maybe even once here on the channel on ModChat, but I figured I would never see this mod again... Until now! Insignia is a replacement for the original Xbox Live 1.0 service designed to work on original Xbox consoles in the same ways the original service did. This goes beyond LAN tunneling services such as XLink Kai or XBConnect, as Insignia is designed to truly use the original Xbox Live capabilities that were deprecated over ten years ago. The legendary PS3 Toolset has been updated, now officially supporting firmware 4.89 and having many more under-the-hood tweaks to improve the experience further for anyone using it. We also take a bit of a look at PicoBoot, a brand new development for the GameCube using the Raspberry Pi Pico, as I share my own experiences installing and using it. This covers the process of replacing a hard drive for a hardmodded Xbox 360 console, both Phat/Fat and Slim models! The Slim S and Slim E models are both covered since the process is the Slim replacement process is the same for both models. This works for 2.5" hard drives and solid state drives up to 2 TB in size, while thankfully not requiring too many tools! Aside from an existing casing, the Phat/Fat enclosure requires T6 and T10 screwdriver bits to perform this process. PS3HEN offers an awesome yet optional re-licensing feature for PKG installations, however it requires activating the console on PSN using a valid account. Although full CFW consoles have alternatives to this such as using reActPSN, PS3HEN typically requires PSN sign-in and a manual activatation. Using Apollo Save Tool's Account Activation feature, this can be utilized on consoles without needing to log into PSN! This is made quite simple and can be set up within a few seconds after PS3HEN has been installed, allowing you to fully utilize the features PS3HEN has to offer! This same tutorial should also work for full CFW users as well, however this is primarily useful for PS3HEN users since CFW has several applications to help with this. Hardmodding methods for the Xbox 360 come back once again with one of the coolest implementations I've seen to date in the form of RGH 3.0 from 15432! While previous RGH methods required a glitch chip, different timing files, playing around with different wire routing methods, RGH3 eliminates a lot of that by completely omitting the need for a glitch chip! Why use a glitch chip when we can use the console to glitch itself?! Aside from the NAND wiring, the only other installation in the console is simplified down to two wires and a resistor. That's it! A lot of excitement for the PS4 and PS5 (and possibly even PS3) with a new entry point showcased using BD-J! This being "bd-jb" showing the possibility of jailbreaking the PS4 and PS5 using a Blu-ray disc burned using the BD-J format. We also go back to the PS1 showing PicoMemcard which is a useful way of making a PS1 compatible memory card you can easily hook up to a PC using a Raspberry Pi Pico! A mostly PlayStation focused episode with a side of Xbox this time around! We first look at the release of Halo 3 Sunrise, a custom server revival of the Xbox 360 version of Halo 3 that's compatible with both modified AND non-modified consoles! PS3 4.89 and PS Vita 3.74 firmwares released on May 10, 2022 and seem to offer something more than just a standard "stability" update this time around. While the PS3 tools get updated to support the latest firmware, the Vita has hardly had any downtime since h-encore² seems to be completely unpatched and working on this new firmware update. Hardmodding methods for the Xbox 360 come back once again with one of the coolest implementations I've seen to date in the form of RGH 3.0 from 15432! While previous RGH methods required a glitch chip, different timing files, playing around with different wire routing methods, RGH3 eliminates a lot of that by completely omitting the need for a glitch chip! Why use a glitch chip when we can use the console to glitch itself?! Aside from the NAND wiring, the only other installation in the console is simplified down to two wires and a resistor. That's it! This video will walk through the process of discussing RGH3, discussing prerequisites, and stepping through a full Xbox 360 S disassembly to get RGH3 installed.
