A bit of a forgotten gem on the Xbox 360, the long lost Xbox Live Indie Games (XBLIG) selection once had a ton of indie choices available to digitally download on the console. These days the XBLIG service on Xbox 360 has been retired, however some people have wanted to revisit these games on their hardmodded JTAG/RGH consoles but have had no luck getting the games to boot. Thankfully there's only a couple of prerequisites to look out for, but once dialed in you should be ready to go with some indie goodness! I've done plenty of tutorials and one-off builds related to different Xbox 360 consoles here on the channel, but I've always had a specific build in mind that I've wanted to accomplish for myself as my "main" console to use. I always loved how the Halo 4 Xbox 360 Slim console looked, and a few years ago I finally ended up buying one for a respectable price! It was console only, not in the greatest shape, but it was good enough for my liking. As things usually go, the console got put to the side and wasn't worked on until recently. After working on a Halo 4 console for a friend of mine, I finally decided to pull my own out of my closet as I was struck with inspiration needed to work on it. This might not be the most impressive build out there, but it's my own personal build, and one that I've wanted for years! This build is a Corona motherboard which comes in the Halo 4 edition of the Xbox 360 Slim. It has had the RGH modification applied to it, meaning it can now be unlocked to play unsigned code in the form of custom Dashboards, game mods, emulators, homebrew, and more! As I still wanted to go online cleanly, this console has also had the Viper V2 Dual-NAND board installed. This will allow the console to flip between a clean Retail NAND and a modified NAND, essentially squishing two consoles into one. A long video here, definitely recommended to use the timestamps, but I aimed to cover everything related to installing games with multiple discs on the Xbox 360 using a hardmodded console! This will cover the prerequisites needed, the difference between Extracted or Games on Demand (GoD) formats, handling Title Updates when needed, setting up AutoSwap, and of course the actual installations. In the world of emulation on desktops, laptops, consoles, and single board computers, what exactly is MiSTer? MiSTer is an open source FPGA project which aims to totally recreate various retro computers, arcade boards, and game consoles through cores on the Terasic DE10-Nano FPGA board. I've personally been soldering with a microscope for a bit now and have been pleasantly surprised over how much of a benefit I've had from it. Not only does it make daunting tasks much easier while soldering, but it has also had the side effect of increasing the quality of my work due to becoming more critical of seeing it up close and personal. A complete guide here on backing up Game Boy cartridges along with their respective saves to keep your cartridges and data safe using the GBxCart RW! This will walk through the process of downloading the required software, installing drivers, and updating the firmware on the GBxCart RW to allow for cartridge backup. A new episode for July 2023, but a whole lot of old console related news to talk about here! The Dreamcast ended up getting a big English fan translation patch, with this being the first fan translation for an officially released visual novel on the console! A couple years ago the PS Vita had the KyuHEN homebrew contest, but it looks like it returns in the form of FuHEN which I cover a bit of here. Although nothing has released on this, we take a look at a proof of concept showing full self-booting PS1 backups being possible. After trying out the PicoMemcard project and being able to easily back up my old PS1 memory cards to keep the saves safe on my PC, I wanted to look into the best way to import and export individual saves with a Virtual Memory Card. Having a hardmodded Xbox 360 allows for easy access to region free playback of original Xbox and Xbox 360 games thanks to Dashlaunch. I've had an Xbox 360 Slim Trinity console running the original RGH 2.0 implementation being used as my guinea pig console for years at this point. It was running pretty well with a CoolRunner Rev C, however the inconsistent glitch times I was getting with it were starting to annoy me after so many RGH 3.0 installations. As many people have asked me how to convert their already modified Xbox 360 Slim RGH consoles to RGH 3.0, I decided to do so on my own system and cover the process!
