The PS Vita is an awesome handheld worth revisiting, but what truly unlocks the greatness of this console is the power of homebrew. This tutorial will go through the process of taking any PlayStation Vita console on firmware 3.74 and modifying it with HENlo with the goal of launching third party homebrew, games, applications, and more. This also goes through the process of downgrading to firmware 3.65 with the awesome coldbooting HENkaku Ensō! All of this is made infinitely easier thanks to VitaDeploy, and at the end we also cover HENkaku settings as well as future plugin setup with AutoPlugin. The end-goal here being a successfully downgraded, coldbooting, modified Vita with a few starter plugins as well as pieces of homebrew to create a solid foundation for using the Vita. Hardmodding methods for the Xbox 360 come back once again with one of the coolest implementations I've seen to date in the form of RGH 3.0 from 15432! While previous RGH methods required a glitch chip, different timing files, playing around with different wire routing methods, RGH3 eliminates a lot of that by completely omitting the need for a glitch chip! Why use a glitch chip when we can use the console to glitch itself?! Aside from the NAND wiring, the only other installation in the console is simplified down to two wires and a resistor. That's it! This video will walk through the process of discussing RGH3, discussing prerequisites, and stepping through a full Xbox 360 Phat disassembly to get RGH3 installed. Revisiting RGH 1.2 for the Jasper, Falcon, and Opus motherboards for Phat Xbox 360 consoles! Every original Xbox console contains a hard drive with a hard drive key, with the intention of that hard drive being paired and locked to a console expecting that matching key. While a console with a custom BIOS can accept any storage medium and keys do not have to be matching, softmodded and stock consoles running a retail BIOS require a locked hard drive with a matching hard drive key. As these keys are randomized 32 character values, years ago it was determined for safety and ease of use that you could "null" a hard drive key to 32 0's. This means anyone who is aware that a lock hard drive's key has been nulled can unlock it easily without the console's EEPROM backup, and hard drives can even be swapped between consoles expecting nulled hard drive keys! Unfortunately it was discovered that nulled out consoles and hard drives with a key set to all 0's would not work online with Insignia, the much anticipated Xbox Live 1.0 replacement service for original Xbox consoles. However a new practice with all of the benefits of before, but with an added benefit of working with Insignia was discovered: nulling a key to 32 1's! More developments coming quickly in the PS5 scene! We've had a WebKit vulnerability released publicly in the past, but this time around we now have a kernel vulnerability out in the wild, released, and usable! Although this is still early on and similar to the early days of the PS4 on firmware 1.76, this is still a start which will help developers and reverse engineers. Don't expect anything such as GoldHEN so early on, there's still a lot of work to be done, but quite a bit has already been completed to get to this point! After a long wait for my pre-order to be fulfilled, my Steam Deck was finally available to ship out in late June 2022.
