GC Loader is an optical drive emulator (ODE) for the GameCube, allowing you to boot homebrew and games directly from a SD card. Existing solutions allow you to do the same thing such as the SD Gecko or SD2SP2, but what makes the GC Loader special? Utilizing the DVD drive's interface allows for the fastest loading speeds in-game, reduces issues that other solutions might introduce, and has full audio streaming support! As the GC Loader has been succeeded by the GC Loader PNP, I still wanted to showcase an overview of the installation for anyone who might be curious. Many people who have followed my previous StorageMgr tutorial have had a few issues with larger microSD cards, so I made this specific video for a couple reasons. The first being to show that large cards do work, as demonstrated with a 400 GB microSD card in here! The second being to show and clarify a few setup steps that people might commonly skip or misconfigure. This video assumes you have a Vita console set up with HENkaku or h-encore and have the basic understanding of how to transfer files as well as modify your config.txt file to load plugins through the taiHEN engine. In March 2014 Team Xecuter announced the XODE project to the world, described by them as "the next generation of ODE design." This was to be an improvement over existing ODE solutions for the Xbox 360 such as the X360DOCK, Wasabi 360, and of course the famous x360Key. This optical drive emulator was designed to replace the DVD drive in a console and allow the end-user to play their Xbox 360 game backups in ISO format directly from a hard drive. XODE was to support 2.5" and 3.5" hard drives, had the ability to choose your games over WiFi, and presumably even more features! Sadly a lot of the information ends there as the XODE project was put on hold and officially announced as cancelled in September 2014. Deadly Premonition was ported to Switch in 2019 in the form of Deadly Premonition Origins. This was a surprise to everyone not with it being announced, but originally releasing on the eShop the same day it was announced! A physical copy released about 3 months after the digital release, which is when I got my hands on it. Upon booting it up I noticed the pre-rendered cutscenes looked much worse than I remembered. In April 2018 the Xbox 360's backwards compatibility program for original Xbox games received an update for the first time in over 10 years! A few rumblings of this going live made the rounds online, but no one fully verified this or checked to see what differences were made. On Halloween 2019, Mathieulh released his own version of the April 2018 update for JTAG/RGH/Devkit consoles to succeed the previous modified files. Initially this was an incremental update which gave you all the benefits of the previously released modified files by xorloser, but Mathieulh proceeded to go a few steps further. After several more modifications were made to these files, he added in Guide access as well as in-game chat capabilities. This is HUGE because both of these features were never available to people playing Xbox games on the Xbox 360 until 2019! Time to delve into the world of ROM hacks on this channel for the first time! I started looking into enhancements, patches, and translations for original PlayStation games and was pleasantly surprised over what I found! However I noticed several different formats of these patches, different methods, as well as different expected game formats. Due to all of this I wanted to make an in-depth guide explaining these ROM hacks a bit further as well as how to apply them. This will show you how to easily backup your original PlayStation discs to a proper format, what to look out for on your patch downloads, and how to apply them. iam8bit and Limited Run Games have gotten into the retro gaming market with a few physical cartridge releases. With iam8bit releasing Street Fighter II for SNES and Limited Run Games tackling older Star Wars releases, I looked into these further and was quite surprised at the asking prices for these. None of these games seem to be rare or valuable on the used market, but it seems like these are being manufactured and sold at a premium price point. Where's the demand for these? Who is asking for them? I have no idea, but to me these look like extremely expensive, officially licensed reproduction builds of existing games. The Rad Mod is a collection of mods for the original Xbox version Grand Theft Auto: Vice City. I really like the Pro Controller for the Nintendo Switch, but I wanted to look at alternative options. Recently the PS3 had firmware update 4.85 released for it, which surprisingly did not patch any of the existing PS3Xploit tools. We saw the same thing with the PS Vita with h-encore² being released for firmware 3.71, which remained unpatched for firmware updates 3.72 and 3.73! At this point official game releases are barely coming out for these consoles, the PS4 selling well, and the PS5 has been officially announced. Staying on an older firmware is always recommended in the Vita scene. Some plugins or homebrew might have compatibility issues on newer firmwares, and if you're on any firmware higher than 3.65 you won't be able to use Ensō! Thanks to HENkaku's version spoofing, you can easily get online while retaining an older firmware! This quick tutorial demonstrates how you can easily retain all of your Vita's functionality and modifications without needing to update your system firmware. Why compromise when you can have it all? Need to downgrade your firmware version on your PS3 for some reason? Wanting to try out a different custom firmware? Downgrading your CFW on a jailbroken PS3 is quite easy to do if you ever need to! PS3Xploit returns yet again with another legendary breakthrough in the form of HEN, short for Homebrew Enabler! PS3HEN works on ANY model of PS3 as long as your console is on firmware 4.85 or lower. This tutorial will walk you through the process of installing 4.85 HFW, a hybrid firmware build of 4.85 which will allow you to install and run the required files.
