Grateful Dead [1080p HD Remaster] March 19, 1995 - The Spectrum - Philadelphia, PA [SBD: Miller]
This is both an AUDIO and VIDEO remaster of
Grateful Dead
March 19, 1995
The Spectrum
Philadelphia, PA
_____________________________________________
Video notes: Original 480i 720x480 video converted to square pixels (because we use square pixels on every device made in the 21st century) which converts the resolution to 640x480 with no change to aspect ratio
Deinterlaced properly to 59.94 fps Progressive (Original is 720x480i 29.97 FPS) -- Done properly, interlaced video is easily converted to a genuine progreessive 60fps.
Scaled to 1440x1080P at 59.94 FPS -- maintaining aspect ratio.
As much noise scrubbed from video as possible without being destructive to details. A ton more adjustments on colors, black levels, and details.. Video is a complete re-render to bring out more details in the picture.
All video editing is done in a "lossless" pipeline using codecs such as ProRes422HQ
Final encodes are in h264 or h265 depending on the video.
Final encode with audio - 4.62 GB (MKV)

Grateful Dead [1080p almostRemaster] March 6 1992 - Hampton [original aud]
I did a quick upscale of this video, it was taken from @Nosmo King page.
We are going to re-track the audio and post again later :)
This is a very "quick and dirty" clleanup/upscale job by me.. josh might mess wiht the colors a little, i don't know, i think we're gonnna wait for the real (non youtube) files before going further... other than tracking new audio.
We already have a 2-camera video of this show that Josh did all the cuts on, so this was the THIRD camera in the house, which means after getting the source material, a 3-cam is very much in play :)
Anyways, just posting this because i wanted to see how it would look and i'm impatient.

Grateful Dead [1080p 60fps HD Remaster] - March 18, 1995 - The Spectrum - Philadelphia, PA [Miller]
This is a VIDEO AND AUDIO REMASTER of:
Grateful Dead
March 18, 1995
The Spectrum
Philadelphia, PA
All past lineage is listed below.
Notes: Scaled to 1440x1080 at 60 frames per second from the original 720x480 29.97fps source (pillar bars added for 1920x1080) -- This maintains the original 4:3 aspect ratio.
Two different audio sources were used on this one (both coming from Charlie Miller. The first set does suffer from some audio issues, and the second source is only the 2nd set ... I'm not sure if charlie can fix the first set with izotope or not .. haven't asked yet... but it's nothing terrible and the best available.

NOTE: We are trying to fund a dedicated fiber line to host the entirety of our archives for everyone to access. This is going to be a big undertaking as it is not cheap. I have comitted to paying 500 dollars per month for this to happen. It requires a build-out and the first 36-months of service for a dedicated line are just over 1100 dollars per month.. After that, it drops quite a bit. Cheaper ressidential and businesss accounts cannot host servers, and to top it off, there just isn't any fiber here... I upload all of this at 20mbit... Patreon is already bringing in a decent amount of money that has almost entirely went to equipment over the past year.. those needs are starting to wane a little bit but expensive things happen more than they do not... Yes the price tag is heavy, but 22,0000 subscribers + all the people who want this to be a thing could do this with $1 each and have mutliple years paid off. We may do some outside fundraising and other stuff to get enough money to at least create a "buffer" to get this off the ground and finally have a solution that will work to serve files out to everyone who wants them. Priority access will be a thing for the first month or two because there are a lot of people who have put a lot into this project and I need to get to them first, but with the speeds, it shouldn't take long to open the floodgates.

This video was taken directly from @Nosmo King 's youtube.. I do not make a habit of using footage off of youtube as starting material, so I just wanted to make it clear.. this (and one or two other things i felt like playing with) are just tests..
Lots of hidden gems on his channel. I hope to be able to work on this from a raw file in the future .. reallly cool footage and angles.
i mean reallly ... the rail?!!?

Grateful Dead [1080p Restoration] September 13, 1983 - Manor Downs - Austin, Texas (Full Show)
This is a Video and Audio Remaster of
Grateful Dead
Manor Downs
Austin, Texas
09/13/83
Video given the "restoration" designation because the overall quality being worked with... This is considerably better than where it started, and we can only do so much (though things change almost daily)....
More notes on audio and video sources below, along with lineage of each. (original audio was replaced)
All post-production work by Josh Davis and Christopher Hazard
June 27, 2022 - CH
Notes from us :
Video notes:
Video is a bit lacking in overall quality throughout, and this is a "to be expected" thing with the rarities from the early 80s and before. AUD videos were still a few years from "catching on" ... mostly because the needed equipment just wasn't viable in those times.
We tried to make this work at 60fps and I just couldn't get to cooperate at all, so i reverted it back to the original 30fps and it's marginally better than it was at 60fps... Sometimes you win sometimes you don't.. Either way, this is a good show and early 80's videos aren't exactly in abundance.. A very overlooked era in dead history in my own eyes.
Audio notes:
Audio replaced with a FOB source which both me and Josh believe is the best available.
(FOB = "Front of Board") ... To the people not "in the know" ... this means the taper was in front of the soundboard, and not in any designated "taper section"

This is a Remaster of
GARCIA & GRISMAN
Warfield Theater
San Francisco CA
05-11-1992
Lots of notes on this one!!
All post-production work by Josh Davis and Christopher Hazard
June 23, 2022 - CH
Notes from us :
This video looks great after the taper sets up during the first song. Color adjustments were done by josh to get it looking "more correct" .. I also added a tad more contrast and saturation after i was finshed getting it up to 1440x1080p (60fps)
The same audio source is used here, but we used the existing FLAC files that circulate -- as the original video had AC3 audio.
I will probably go over this again in the future to remove remaining spatial and temporal noise that still remains.. huge upgrade as it is, but i didn't foreseee so much noise retention at this point.. It will just take a lot of computer time to get there... That's not to take away from how massive this upgrade is -- it really came out fantastic (just remember the camera takes pretty much an entire song to get into position.. )
All lineage/credits from used content to create this new video are listed below the donor rap

[Audio] Grateful Dead - June 17, 1975 - Winterland Arena - San Francisco, CA (Dead of the Day)
All I did was add a slideshow to the audio listed below before uploading it to youtube.
There is no available SBD for this one, there are only a couple auds and matrix tapes. This is preference. :)
See the recent page posts for info on the video delays right now.. We should be running 100% within a week or so, and I still plan on having a few shows to upload before then.
Cool nottes about this show:
1) The band was billed as Jerry Garcia and Friends for this benefit concert for poster artist Bob Fried, who died earlier that year, but it is the grateful dead!
2) First Crazy Fingers
3) First Help on the way (and the slip and the franklins!)
4) One of only four total shows the band played in 1975.
Enjoy, and the full lineage for the audio is below!

:)
This wil end up disappearing for a bit after we watch it tonight, in leui of a 1080p upgrade and some work to correct flaws /black levels/tone mapping in this video.
Either way, it's a wonderful video as it stands and i hope you enjoy it.
Oh, i'm not telling -- use context clues to guess the year, then maybe someone will get the date :)

Yes, This is the second time i uploaded this video in 24-hours... I managed to remove almost all of the flicker from the video and cleaned up the temporal noise to a huge extent (and it took 24-hours on a brand new RTX 3090TI machine for this 28-minute video!) -- I am really happy with the results so, welcome to the Re-Remaster? :D Enjoy!!!
