___hazard's notes___
I did use AI to get 60fps out of this video
Josh did color correction, i added a bit more saturation on the final encode
video was already 29.97fps progressive when we got it, hence why i decided to play with the magical fps thing. Our 60fps shows have always been "natural" and "not AI" except for this one. Btw, no, it isn't "Topaz" -- Topaz frame interpolation leaves a *LOT* to be desired :)
480p to 1080p
NOTHING LESS THAN THE BEST :)

* 2 minutes missing during How Sweet It Is, graphics and video filler used to make it complete
* last 3 minutes of Deal suffered tape damage. In lieu of cutting it off, the colored lines that presented themselves instead of video footage on every other frame of the video were meticulously cut out of the video so that the end can be watchable to an extent (the alternating black frames will make it look like someone is quickly flashing the lights on and off). Over 3,000 cuts were made in order to achieve this.
This audio source was synced to the video:
Master: Neumann KM54's ~ DAT (Chuck Vasseur)
Transfer: DAT Master ~CDR (Kyle Porter)
Extract: CDR clone ~ EAC ~ WAV ~ FLAC16 (Bill Shaw aka Shark)

02. They Love Each Other,
03. You Never Can Tell,
04. Positively 4th Street,
05. Ain't No Bread In The Breadbox,

Although merchants use content from this page for their own monetary gain in selling merch, this page 100% depends on the generosity of others to continue the work that is being done here to restore and remaster all existing video sources (we even do new transfers on a lot of stuff and uncirculated stuff these days). The postproduction work takes a lot of time, a lot of specialized equipment and software, eats up a ton of money in overhead. We don't believe we should be making cash off of this even if others are monetizing our work on other platforms, but we need to be able to offset the costs to keep this dream alive.

For full disclosure, if you see commercials on this page, this page is NOT MONETIZED in any way. Any commercial you see is either placed there by copyright owners (which they have every right to do) or by Youtube. We don't want people to have to see commercials any more than they want to see them. There are ways to get youtube premium much cheaper if you poke around the internet, and most ad blockers do work if you are on a computer. The process of making these available for download is more complicated than it should be, we've had our work stolen and posted to torrent sites with other people taking credit for the work. That said, we do want to give everyone the chance to download their favorite shows with even better video and lossless audio. As soon as ATT finishes their fiber run here we will set up a server where people can download from. I expect to be able to get a 5 gigabit connection in the coming months, there has been some delays from ATT on this but it's still "coming soon" Feel free to email me with any questions (email in youtube bio)

Any commercial you see is either placed there by copyright owners (which they have every right to do) or by Youtube. We don't want people to have to see commercials any more than they want to see them. On the other hand, we are lucky enough be able to post all of these videos without being crushed off of Youtube from copyright violations. (Which also took a lot of effort to make happen)
With that said, this page would have ceased to exist in December 2020 if it were not for the massive outpouring of people who stepped up and offered to help when i put up the notice that I would no longer be able to maintain this page because of the time and the financial burden. If you are able, consider making a one-time donation or joining the patreon if you find this page to be something of value -- every dollar genuinely helps a ton. We do not want anyone to feel any sense of obligation. We are like everyone else and want to keep the music alive, at the highest quality possible.

This page 100% depends on the generosity of others to continue the work that is being done here to restore and remaster all existing video sources (we even do new transfers on a lot of stuff and uncirculated stuff these days). The postproduction work takes a lot of time, a lot of specialized equipment and software, eats up a ton of money in overhead, continuously increasing storage demands, and a high-speed fiber connection is on the way.

For full disclosure, if you see commercials on this page, this page is NOT MONETIZED in any way. Any commercial you see is either placed there by copyright owners (which they have every right to do) or by Youtube. We don't want people to have to see commercials any more than they want to see them.

Bob Dylan and Tom Petty [1080p60 Remaster] July 4, 1986 - Rich Stadium - Farm Aid (FULL Show)
Thanks again to Zeb Weber for the much better source I was able to use to create this footage... The colors and contrast were much better on this.
This footage was originally captured by intercepting the satellite feed from the show that was being re-transmitted by farm aid, the same feed that brought the Grateful Dead show from 7-4-86 to farm aid.. While Farm aid only used a few songs from every artist, these shows were available to anyone who knew which way to aim their giant dish. Lucky for us, someone was awesome enough to capture it and preserve it!
I will be uploading this again sometime soon with an upgraded audio track, and will likely have @gratefuldavis6615 also do some color corrections. I'm fairly colorblind, Josh is the one who does 99% of the color correcting in our videos, he also tracks 95%+ of our audio. Remember -- this takes a team, it's not just me :) Josh started helping here in the fall of 2021 basically doing whatever i asked of him, but quickly found his own talents which have become an invaluable part of the efforts on this page.. Be sure to give him thanks !!! (Although he doesn't even know this video is going up at the moment, figured I would keep this one a surprise for the moment) :)

Grateful Dead [1080p HD Remaster] July 4, 1986 - Set 2 (Farm-Aid)
This is just testing a new source, may go over it again as there are a few things i mucked up a little in workflow, also need to re-track audio on this one with charlie miller's sbd. This is still using sound from the intercepted satellite feed.
Thanks to Zeb for this source, and for the rest of the farm-aid footage that will be posted in coming days :)

Grateful Dead [1080p HD Remaster] July 10, 1989 - Live at Giants Stadium - [SBD: Miler]
This is our audio and video remsater of
Grateful Dead
July 10, 1989
Giants Stadium
East Rutherford, NJ
This is a redo from a while back, now color corrected with some other stuff to attempt to get most of the noise out of it. This could still use some clean-up work in the future, but the stuff that needs cleaned up is very time prohibitive right now -- so probably 1-2 years it won't add an extra week to the workflow. We will be mixing in some redos in the next few weeks that we are more comfortable as finished products than some of the variants in the past.
There's literally still 1000's of things still to go through here :)
Added charlie's sbd
Will add more info later today below

Grateful Dead [1080p HD Remaster] December 31, 1978 - Winterland Arena [Set 3 with extra footage]
Our latest and hopefully final attempt to remaster this video.
Sets 1 and 2 have already been posted since New years eve.
Set 3 is a bit lower quality in a lot of parts (the video, not the audio!) because different cameras were used for a lot of the footage.
There are some extra bits from this night we'll be posting in addition to the three sets. Everything in the box set! :) Did i mention [***SPOILER ALERT***] there is a dark star [/***SPOILER ALERT]
It should look *Significantly* better than anything officially released at this point.
Thanks everyone for a wonderful 2022 -- To usher in 2023, I brought it up about a month ago -- and Josh agreed -- especially once i sent him my very minor color corrections on the original and did some other post-production work to the first 20-mins of this video, that we should give it some real justice and try to make this shine as much as possible. This is a video that I used to help hone my own skills when I started on this journey of upgrading the catalog of GD and Jerry related videos to their highest potential, while making sure the highest quality audio was attached to the newly remastered video, creating essentially brand-new releases of every single show that has been circulated on video. Along the way, we really have added a lot more into the fold than when the page started. Methods have gotten better, lessons have been learned, Josh came aboard in late 2021 and started helping with the basic "prep work" that is almost universal across the videos we work on. In that time, josh has helped turn us into a genuine remastering/postproduction operation as we've added mulitple shows that have never been circulated, we've tracked down audio sources that were never in circulation, and we've been able to create absolutely legit, seamless, and genuine pro-shot videos of shows from the 1970s that have never ever been put together as a full show. Josh has been a monster at multi-cameras and color correction, which is going to lead to even more "re-releases" even though we literally still have *OVER 1000* videos to go through. This project is going to take many years, especially with the redos. :)
This is one of the videos that I've worked on more than any other, and every single time i come back to it I still say "wow" when i see the newly finished product. This time, I think this would be worthy of a new release.
Let us know what you think -- so happy to still be here with all of you and let's keep this project kicking! Thank you!
