Jeep vs tank truck road rage
A dashcam captures what appears to be some road rage in the making. As driver is heading down a 2 lane highway behind a tank truck a jeep is coming up on the on-ramp. That on-ramp then merges with the lane that the tank truck is in. I see what's happening and anticipate that the merging vehicle may want to slow down and get behind the tank truck so I move over. The jeep appears to be in a blind spot but has plenty of time to adjust speed to get behind. But the jeep seems to insist on staying in that lane perhaps thinking it was a 3rd highway lane. The two vehicles seem to come real close to sideswiping each other. When he realizes he will not win against the tank beast, he slows down and gets behind. But it is not over. Perhaps during a fit of road rage, without signaling, he changes lanes and gets in front of me. He then speeds up to get side by side with the truck, taps on brakes and then increases speed slightly. He then suddenly cuts the tank truck off leaving merely inches between bumpers. It seems obvious that the jeep let off on the gas to close the gap. Considering the weather at this time and slippery road conditions, this was not a smart move. It could have been a real disaster. Perhaps the tanker didn't see the jeep coming up the on-ramp. He probably had no idea that they nearly sideswiped each other seconds earlier. Even if he did see him, it is no reason for the jeep to act aggressively after the fact. He should have been the bigger person and let it go. Clearly a demonstration of reckless driving, road rage and immature behavior. Oh, and the snow on the jeep? In CT there is an “ice missile” law whereby fines range from $75-$1250 for the non removal of snow off of vehicles. Drive safe everyone.

Crazy highway lane changing caught on dashcam
No question that this is reckless driving! Everyone makes mistakes driving and I am sure everyone has had their own fair share of close calls and accidents. Perhaps even the occasional roll through stop sign or misjudged yellow light. Nobody's perfect. But like I already stated, this is reckless.
Driver was heading down a busy two lane highway that had visibility obscured by the sunrise sun glare. All of a sudden a car speeds by and cuts in. This vehicle with obvious reckless driving skills and with his high speed lane changing is an accident waiting to happen. You can even hear the rev of his engine as he passes and makes those aggressive lane changes as he proceeds heading down the road. Where's the emergency? Is he late for work? I am sure he is scaring the other motorist and at the very least annoying all of them in the process. This is blatant reckless driving showing no concern for anyone on the road. This is driving behavior at its worst. To make it even more dangerous, there is quite a lot of traffic on this highway. Had there been an accident, it could have been really bad. I am sure the crazy driver would have either taking off or would have been just as aggressive confronting whoever he hit.
Having this kind of dashcam footage would avoid any questions of fault and act as a reliable witness in a court of law. This is why it is important to have a dashcam in the vehicle at all times. I predict this will be standard equipment in the future in the same way that airbags have become. They are not expensive and range in price from maybe $25 for a cheap low resolution to hundreds for really good HD video and features. Not too bad right? Drive safe friends. Watch out for kids and motorcycles!

Inattentive driver causes multiple red light runners
Driver decides he is in no rush to proceed through the green light!
This is a common area for bad driving in Berlin CT. This particular intersection is notorious for red light runners.
The driver in the Silver Chevy pickup waited a long time after he got the green left turn arrow. This in turn causes a delay for the drivers behind him who were not having any of it. So as they proceed to pass under the light, it is already red for multiple cars. How many?

Riding lawnmower falls off moving truck
Sometimes the unexpected happens like when this red truck lost its cargo.
There was a riding lawnmower and ramp in the back of the red pickup truck.
Notice how there is no tailgate.
You can see as he takes the turn and heads up the hill. Later at the light, he proceeds to go when the light turns green.
The contents of the back of the pickup truck then rolled off and crashed onto the roadway.
Luckily there were no vehicles behind and the dashcam owner was just out of the way.About Over the Road Videos:

Speeding car gets on left lane camper's tail and teenager provides commentary
Video shows a speeding car in the left passing lane coming right up on a left lane camper's tail.
The speeding car was momentarily inconvenienced as he managed to work his away around the moving obstacle to continue on his way.
The occupant of the camera owners car was a license-less teenager. Notice the commentary she provides for the driving behavior as she exclaims; "What is he doing?"

Car muscles his way through blocked intersection
These local auto mechanics decide to take a joy ride in my car. You would think they would be more careful after witnessing this. I wonder whose insurance would pay had they been in an accident. This incident took place while the car was in the shop for repairs. I figured it would be easier to drop the car off the night before and leave it all day. I had set up a ride to work so I wasn't worried about anything. Or perhaps I should have been worried. Why did I decide to review the dashcam video?
Well, when I picked up the vehicle, I noticed that the passenger seat was reclined and pushed all the way back. Kind of odd since no one in the family is more than 5' 8". The seat seemed to be set for a 6 foot 5 inch body builder. Which seemed to be about the mass of one of the body builder mechanics. Guy probably doesn't need a jack to change a tire. I also noticed that the car had a strong odor of ammonia. I do not know why nor had the opportunity to ask. We also don't see in the video that in the back seat was about 20 or so dried up pickles that seemed to be wedged into the seat cushion. Perhaps that was there the whole time or maybe it was the kids dropping their pickles all this time. No more extra pickles.
So as you can see in the video, there seemed to be a good amount of standstill traffic. As the car gets up to the light, it cycles a couple times while the cross traffic barely moved. The driver must have been impatient because we can see him proceed around the hesitant car in front. It appears that he wants to go straight but then suddenly makes a left and goes around the gridlocked cars and sort of muscles his way back into the road.

Snow torpedoed then road rage ensues
Before you say anything, it wasn't me! The car was left with a friend while away. Turns out he was behind a red jeep right after a snow storm. The jeep never cleaned off the top so when traveling at highway speeds the snow ends up being a missile as it slides off the roof. Luckily the dashcam driver wasn't closer or else it would have been worse. Perhaps a broken windshield at least.
Notice how the ice sheet flies through the air and crashes onto the pavement just as the dashcam driver runs over it. A little different timing and it could have been bad.
In the State of Connecticut it is required by state law to clean off the top of your car. Known as the Ice Missile Law, it states "The operator of any motor vehicle, as defined in section 14-1 of the general statutes, shall remove any accumulated ice or snow from such motor vehicle, including the hood, trunk and roof of such motor vehicle, so that any ice or snow accumulated on such vehicle does not pose a threat to persons or property while the vehicle is being operated on any street or highway of this state. Any operator who fails to remove accumulated ice or snow that poses such a threat shall be fined seventy-five dollars." Additionally, If the snow missile causes "vehicle and causes personal injury or property damage", then the fines go up to no less than $500 and up to $1250 for each offence.
So this is really a serious safety issue. With that said, notice how the dashcam driver proceeds to hit the horn and speed up to pass the vehicle. All while a police car is in sight. It appears that the police did not witness what had happened but could have been concerned with the right lane passer. The video cuts out just as what appears to be the cop's sirens sounding off. Car owner stated that when he reviewed the video, there seemed to be a gap in time that he couldn't explain.

Cop tailgates but it is not what you think.
Bad cops on the news. It sells. It gets ratings. People always want to hear the juicy stories about what cop did what and to whom. That seems to be the only stories we hear. In this day and age of bad press for the police, it is always great to see something positive when it comes to our men and women of law enforcement.
Know however that in any population there are always going to bad apples. Pick any industry, profession, anything. Even doctors, lawyers, machinist, clergy, teachers and politicians. There is no group immune from bad behavior and no one is an angel. You will always find something wrong. But today was a good day. As this driver was headed down a busy highway, traffic seems to be building up ahead. Is it construction? Perhaps an accident caused by some inattentive motorist? Maybe a broken down car that is being assisted by AAA. Everyone knows that it only take one to slow down or stop traffic. And when this happens, then there is the occasional rubbernecker to further exasperate the issue too. The motorist here makes his way further down the highway, changing lanes as needed. So as the driver gets closer he can see police lights. What could it be? Sometimes police will escort construction vehicles or wide load vehicles so perhaps that was it. Sometimes cars are purposely slowed down for some other needed purpose.
As the driver approaches, it is seen that there are two state police cars. One of the cars appears to be tailgating. Better than that he is actually right up on the bumper. Touching. He is not only touching but is pushing! Incredible. Usually if there is a vehicle in distress, roadside assistance would be called. I am sure the officer has a list of tow trucks on standby for incidents such as this. He seems to want to take care of it himself. To offer immediate assistance like this is awesome. I wonder however what the urgency was that would cause this. Someone in labor? The world may never know.

Dangerous Blinding Hi Beam Car Headlights
The driver was traveling down a dark road and spots a jeep with super super super bright lights heading right towards him. The driver needed to pull over to allow his eyes to recover. There is no way the jeep didn't know. He had to have seen the path of light he was making as he headed down the road. Not a courteous driver for sure.

Driver experiences vertigo driving through this
This is a parking garage exit ramp that continues to circle around and around until you reach ground level. Even though the tunnel is marked down only, the driver still had a fear that there would be a car going head on towards him and that at any second there would be a collision! He went round and round for what felt like minutes to him. In reality it was mere seconds.
Driver experienced some vertigo going down this multi level parking lot tunnel. He experienced dizziness when he came to a stop at the bottom and had to stop for a few seconds. It was a left turn all the way down as he went from the rooftop level all the way down to street level. It also took him a few seconds to adjust to daylight while the head spinning needed to stop.
This must be common to drivers in the big city like New York where parking is a premium and parking garages are everywhere. But for this particular driver, this was sort of an event to go into and out of this tunnel. Driver commented that there should be some kind of safe guard to prevent wrong way drivers. Something like those one way Traffic Spikes that they have at car rental places.

Light turns RED then school bus decides to go!!!
Not looking to get anyone fired but this could have been a school bus carrying your children. As you see in the dashcam footage, the bus approaches the light behind a tractor trailer. He starts to stop as the light turns from yellow to red but then decided to hit the gas to run it. I understand that hitting a light can mean you will have to wait at the red for a minute or two but is it worth it? This intersection is no exception. I travel that road frequently and know how it is there. The light only seems to allow a few cars during each cycle which is why the bus driver probably decided to hit the gas. They are on a tight schedule so hitting the light would affect it. Recently there has been media coverage that says in some cases bus drivers don't even get bathroom breaks. Perhaps that was it? Also covered in the media were incidences of drivers actually wearing diapers! Wow. But in all cases, the drivers should put the safety of the children first. As a parent, I would completely understand the extra few minutes taking to ensure the safety of the kids. The van in this video definitely had children in it. It would have been a disaster if something had happened. Cars coming from the side are quick to go as well so this could have easily been bad. You can see that the bus actually attempted to break and could have actually stopped before getting to the white line. But instead of completely stopping, as the light was already red, he hit the gas to fly through the intersection. This is reckless and could have been a disaster if someone just as reckless was coming the other way. Listen folks, if you have to speed up to get through the intersection then you have no business trying to go through said intersection. Isn't this part of drivers ed 101?

How not to drive in bad weather
Wet roads mean slippery conditions. But for these 2 drivers, it does not matter. First vehicle in dashcam video shows severe tailgating. What would happen if the car in front hit the breaks?
The 2nd driver is not only driving too fast for road conditions, he quickly and dangerously changes lanes after passing on right hand side. He quickly goes nowhere fast as apparent buy the vehicle that he ends up behind.

Speeder changes lanes recklessly
Watch this dashcam video of a driver heading east on a highway. The speed limit here is 55. Driver is in the right lane and was getting up to speed from an on ramp. He signaled to change lanes and saw that everything was clear. As he was about to move left, a speeding car suddenly passes him out and cuts in front of him nearly sideswiping in the process. Speeder also narrowly misses the car in the center lane as he makes the change to get into the right lane. You can see him continue on blazing a trail down the highway. Out of state plates too.

Bad driving leads to one big cluster truck
This is crazy dashcam footage as I approached an intersection in Berlin CT. I witness this red light runner as I get closer to it. Perhaps minor but what happens next is funny. I had all intentions of stopping before the white line. But there is a truck making a right turn. A wide right turn. I am sure he has a green arrow. If not green, a right turn on red is allowed here. I frequent this intersection. I did not think he could make it so I backed up a bit. And it looks like he needs the room. So I backed up a bit more and a bigger bit more to allow him to complete the turn. Yes, I am good like that. Courteous. Like all of us drivers should be. Lucky nobody was behind me. He makes the complete turn. So now it seems everyone wants to get a piece of this and make it through the intersection. Check out the truck slipping his way under the light while I have the green. And then the bonus red light runner behind him! Perhaps I should have waited a bit longer for him to complete the turn before proceeding.

Redlight runners amok in this town.
Small compilation of red light runners as seen in the great state of Connecticut.
Running red usually seems to be done for convenience like trying to save time. As in the 1st clip where an individual is seen running a red to avoid the wait at the light and attempts to take a shortcut through a parking lot. He doesn't get far as you can see when dashcam driver is still behind him at the next light.
Then take a look at other obvious bad driving red light runners. Careless driving at its worse. Scary to think that there could be crossing traffic. Dangerous. Perfect conditions for getting T-Boned.
How about the inattentive driver that nearly goes straight when there is a green left turn arrow? Notice how at the last second he slams on the brakes!
The last 2 videos are at the same intersection at different times. This particular intersection is notorious for this kind of behavior.

Careless driver cuts off truck while running a red light
Careless or distracted drivers are a frequent occurrence at this intersection in Connecticut. Dashcam footage captures this instance of bad driving. Both sides get a left turn arrow at the same time. But the oncoming driver probably wasn't paying much attention and thought the green arrow was his queue to go straight and cutoff the truck! He seemed oblivious to the fact but his passenger seemed to be waving or doing something as they passed me. Perhaps she was giving him the 3rd degree.

Impatient pickup truck decides oncoming lane is his
A red pickup truck decides his time is more important and proceeds to bypass a line of rush hour traffic by heading down the oncoming lane.
Rush hour traffic like this is typical in this area. There is always a single lane of traffic on this stretch of road. Most everyone is patient here and waits to get through. But this one individual in the red pickup must think his time is worth more. Watch as he drives down in the left oncoming lane. He must have thought he could make it all the way down without running into any oncoming traffic. But anybody familiar with this area knows that that will never happen.
Notice how he is forced to move over and even signals as he muscles his way back into the correct lane. This probably made the driver he cut in front of pretty annoyed. This could have been could kindling for some road rage action. It would have been great if there was a cop around for a dose of instant karma. Perhaps next time.
At least the pickup truck operator was courteous enough to signal his intention to force his way back into the correct lane.

Truck nearly wipes out taking a turn
At a light waiting my turn. It was a little slick from the rain. One truck takes the turn and starts fish tailing but then quickly regains control avoiding a couple cars. This intersection is usually problematic due to the double left turn lanes and cars cutting each other off. If someone had been on his right while taking the turn...well would have been bad.

Multiple vehicles strike object on highway. Front and rear dashcam footage.
Front and rear dashcam footage captures multiple vehicles striking object on highway.
Highway driving heading West on Route 72 in Plainville CT. Dashcam captures the moment an object is run over while driving at highway speeds. Multiple vehicles will run it over before it is finished.
You can see the white car in front barely avoids it but does in fact run it over. Only to be deflected and is in the path of the dashcam vehicle. Driver tries to avoid it but it is too late and ends up running it over in a plume of dust and debris and flings it back for the next car to dodge. The rear view camera captures that as well. Luckily the car behind the dashcam avoids it and hopefully the cars behind him too. The outcome after that is unknown to the driver.
The unidentified object now has turned into an accident looking for a place to happen. After avoiding the road hazard, the dashcam driver continues to head further down the highway and sees some more of the same unidentified object on the side of the road. A little further ahead he sees what he thinks is the offending truck. As driver gets closer to the truck it is evident that it is in fact the vehicle judging by the contents loaded up and piled high in the back. The driver makes an attempts to get the truck driver's attention by honking the horn and waiving. Including pointing and gesturing towards the back of the truck as dashcam owner drives by. At this point it is a highway split and you can see the rear camera footage of this as the two vehicles part ways. Dashcam went left and truck went right. It was apparent that the truck driver probably had no idea what was going on behind him. Hopefully everything ended well for the other commuters on this busy stretch of highway.

Highway disaster nearly avoided
This is dashcam video of reckless highway driving. The traffic was a little congested but that didn't prevent the driver from crossing multiple lanes of traffic in an attempt to beat everyone. A collision nearly occurred as another vehicle had to hit the brakes and nearly crash while going into the breakdown lane. Time saved for the inconsiderate and reckless driver? Zero seconds because he still ended up in standstill traffic shortly there after! Drive safe my friends.

Driver stops, waits for people to cross before running red
Not sure what was going through the driver's mind.
Seemed like she waited for the pedestrians to cross first before proceeding with running the red light.
The pedestrians definitely had a crosswalk signal.
So besides running the red, she disobeys crosswalk signal.
