About this video:It's a Super Day! Supering the hives to prevent early swarms.
In this video we will be adding honey supers to each of the hives to prevent early swarming. I want to make sure the bees have adequate space to grow and expand.
About this Channel:
I hope you enjoy beekeeping and this video. If you are interested in becoming a beekeeper or experience backyard beekeeping for yourself have a look at some of the videos on this beekeeping channel as well as videos from beekeeping creators I have listed below. This is my third season as a beekeeper and everything I have learned came from YouTube and mostly from the channels listed below.
Although this beekeeping channel is primarily about beekeeping I am also a quasi pepper who believes in becoming self-sufficient. With that in mind, I have started a garden, planted fruit trees, replaced the hedges in front of my house with blueberry bushes, and have recently built a chicken coop. In short, I will share a lot more than beekeeping on this channel.
A little about me:
I am a person who believes you are never to old to learn something. Be it beekeeping, farming, raising chickens, painting, filming and editing video, making wine, beer, bread, cheese, and other fermentation consumables, play guitar etc... If I see something I want to try I start it immediately. If there is one thing I could choose to pass along to my children this would be it. Never be afraid to try. My wife famously told me once that if you are not willing to be bad at something, you will never be good at it. That means I am bad at quite a few things.
A little about you:
If you are new to beekeeping or are interested in becoming a beekeeper this channel might be for you. In my beekeeping adventures I show everything from my beekeeping successes to my beekeeping failures. I hide nothing and am never afraid to admit to a mistake.
I hope you find my beekeeping videos fun and entertaining as well as get something out of them. I hope I inspire someone to get out and try something new. If you do enjoy my videos, please take a moment to spread the word about this channel and help it, and myself, grow. Have a great day and BEE Happy!

A bit about my channel:
This channel is primarily about beekeeping or more specifically beekeeping 101 because I am just a beginning beekeeper and I figured the best way to learn beekeeping and to be a beekeeper was to buy a flow hive, sometimes spelled flowhive or a flow hive 2 which is sometimes known as a flowhive 2 and begin building by backyard apiary so I would have a place to keep bees. Now, backyard beekeeping is not the only thing I do. I consider myself to be urban farming as I also try to grow a sustainable and edible landscape. Backyard farming for me also includes keeping chicken and building other things in my shop that will help all of the birds, bees, insects, and other natural pollinators. I learn how to feed bees and chickens while showing you my day-to-day activities in my apiary, sometimes known as a bee yard. Some people consider me a prepper and yes there is a little truth to that. I do consider this a form of prepping and becoming self sufficient. Thank you for spending time with me learning about tap hives, flow hives, honeybees, and chickens.

About this video: Vino Farm Bee Barn Build -- Building a Bee Barn for the bees this season.
In this video we visit Vino Farm in the Metaverse to talk about the vino Farm Bee Barn Jim revealed to us last season after having a dead-out with almost all of his hives. I decided these hives are air tight which should also work to keep the hive beetles and ants out of my hives while providing my girls enough space to create their brood nest the way they want to set it up.
If you are not subscribes to Vino Farm I highly recommend his channel to new and experienced bee keepers a like. He has a fantastic channel which removes all mystery from beekeeping.

About this video: Bees in 8K UHD : Creating Spring Bees | Time to feed the Queen
Time to feed the queen to produce my spring bees. The goal this year is to have strong hives and a strong harvest and the only way to accomplish that goal is to have hives packed with grand new bees before the spring flow kicks in. In today's video I will be giving each queen a pollen patty and give her the protein she needs to rear strong brood for the upcoming season.

About this video: Heater Check | Checking the beehive heaters on a cold 22F day
This week we will go into the apiary on a cold 22F winter day to check the beehive heaters and make sure the girls are warm on these cold winter days. The beehive heaters have been doing a great job so far this winter keeping the hives at an ambient inside temp of ~70F. This mild indoor hive temp has allowed the bees to move about the hive and maintain brood while their unheated neighbor hives are all clustered for survival. This video is available in 1080, 4K, and 8K UHD.

In this video we will discuss the lessons learned in the 2021 bee season and ways to improve the bee season in 2022. The bees have taught me a few things about beekeeping this year that can help all of us new beekeepers become better beekeepers. From their hive configuration to beehive pest management the lesson taught to me by the bees in 2021 are a valuable learning tool for all of us.

About this video: 8K Last Beehive Inspection of 2021 - 8K UltraHD Video Test
this video was rendered in 8K UltraHD for those of you who received a 8K TV for Christmas. Don't work because it scales to 1080P and 4K as well. This is the final beehive inspection of the 2021 bee season filmed on a unusually warm December day.

About this video: Teal Beehive Inspection | The Hive Beetle Battle Continues #beekeeping
In this video we will be inspecting the Teal hive up the street and continuing their overdue preparation for winter. These girls have had a hard year and it doesn't look like the winter is going to be any better for them. I will do what I can for them but I am a little late to the game this year as temp are dropping into the 20's and 30' over night.

About this video: Fall Hive inspection | Getting a baseline assessment of the Army and Navy hives.
In this video I will be looking in on two of my unheated beehives. We will check on the Army and Navy hives to make sure these girls have enough resources and are not chasing a ton of hive beetles around all winter. This is a nice 61F day in the bee yard.

About this video: Heated Beehive Update | How are they doing?
In todays video we will be doing a quick temp check to make sure the beehive heaters are working on a 32F day. If we are lucky we will be able to open the window on a beehive to see if the bees are warm and toasty or if the bees are clustered around the queen and brood. Ideally we want to see the bees loitering in the hive and not consuming resources.

About this video: Bringing The Heat | How to heat a beehive | Beehive Heaters
Some beekeepers do nothing, some wrap their hives, and some insulate their hives; I heat my hives with heaters. In this beekeeping video I will be installing my beehive heaters on the hives in my continuing winter prep. The girls should enjoy warm hives, low resource consumption, and no clustering during the winter months. If all goes well the girls should be very strong in the spring when we open the box. Now this is beekeeping.

About this video: Friday the 13th Fan Film
I live on Crystal Lake | Bug Farmer Halloween Special
Even though this is a beekeeping channel I like to keep it light and have fun so from time-to-time I will release something a little special. I figured since it was fall I would go back to the 1980's horror films and recreate one of my favorite characters from Friday the 13th. Jason Voorhees. This was a fun video to make where I got to actually explore my camera gear a bit more and also my editing. From using green screens to input LUTs, to Day to Night and grainy filters, I really feel like I learned a lot. Thank you for taking the time to watch this video and pass it around. I hope you enjoyed this flash back to 1980's horror and campy cut rm' up movies. No bees (or humans) were harmed during the making of this video. :-)
Premise:
One month ago an old summer camp from the 1980's reopened on the other side of the lake. Ever since that happened there have been a lot of strange things happening. Partying camp counselors, bonfires , loud music, etc.. Now I can't go outside without feeling like someone is watching me. It's just getting plain creepy around here. It doesn't stop at creepy, Jason Voorhees pays me a visit while I am working the hives and just when it feels like I'm a goner fate steps in to offer a helping hand. It almost seems like Friday the 13th.
Special thanks to Lady Bullion and Hubby B for your help and support. My first collaboration video was fun. Please visit Lady Bullion and Hubby B for a great time and all of the latest about silver and gold stacking.

About this video: Wax Moths and the Pine Hive
This week we visit the Pine and Teal hives and discover the girls in the Pine hive have left. Upon inspection we see evidence of wax moths and hive beetles taking up residence in the hive.
About this Channel:
I hope you enjoy this video. If you are interested in becoming a beekeeper or experience backyard beekeeping for yourself have a look at some of the videos on this channel as well as videos from creators I have listed below. This is my third season as a beekeeper and everything I have learned came from YouTube and mostly from the channels listed below.
Although this channel is primarily about beekeeping I am also a quasi pepper who believes in becoming self-sufficient. With that in mind, I have started a garden, planted fruit trees, replaced the hedges in front of my house with blueberry bushes, and have recently built a chicken coop. In short, I will share a lot more than bees with this channel.
Please reach out in the comments and tell me what you're up too and how I could do things better. You may have experience doing what it is I am attempting to do and you knowledge and experience could be very helpful to me. Remember, I try all sorts of thing but I am not always successful. ...but I still try. :-)
I hope you find my videos fun and entertaining as well as get something out of them. I hope I inspire someone to get out and try something new. If you do enjoy my videos, please take a moment to spread the word about this channel and help it, and myself grow. Have a great day and BEE Happy!

About this video: About this video: Hive Beetle Invasion - Juno and her troops are battling a mass onslaught of hive beetles.
Juno and the girls are having serious trouble fending off a mass hive beetle invasion. She surely picked up the mass numbers of hive beetles during the time she spent on the back bench. But now that her beehive has moved to the front row it's time for me to get her hive under control and prepare her to go into winter.

About this video: From honey bound to beetle bound - Time for the Killing Board! #beekeeping
In this video I will be inspecting the bee hives to see if the queens have enough space. While doing the beehive inspection the girls surprise me with low food stores, little brood, and hundreds of hive beetles. Today I will be using the killing board to eliminate beetles from the hive.

A bit about my channel:
This channel is primarily about beekeeping or more specifically beekeeping 101 because I am just a beginning beekeeper and I figured the best way to learn to be a beekeeper was to buy a flow hive, sometimes spelled flowhive or a flow hive 2 which is sometimes known as a flowhive 2 and begin building by backyard apiary so I would have a place to keep bees.

About this video: MURDER HORNETS CONFIRMED - Full nest found. Should we be afraid? #beekeeping #murderhornet #insects
In this video we will look at the current state of affairs of the Murder Hornet or the Giant Asian Hornet that has been recently found in the United States. We will talk about safety, avoidance, and how long until the whole country is affected. We will discuss the things we can do as beekeepers to deter the hornets from killing our bees.

Please reach out in the comments and tell me what you're up too and how I could do things better. You may have experience doing what it is I am attempting to do and you knowledge and experience could be very helpful to me. Remember, I try all sorts of thing but I am not always successful. ...but I still try. :-)

Hive Beetle Invasion, Wax Moths, and the BIG MOVE! #beekeeping
For more frequent updates in between videos please visit the Bug Farmer Instagram page: https://www.instagram.com/thebugfarmer/
About this video: Hive Beetle Invasion, Wax Moths, and the BIG MOVE! Moving small hive into their new home.
In this video we get a gimps of the beetle jail created by the bees to keep the hive beetles out of the hive while we effort to move the green NUC, and the Pine and Teal resource hives into their own full size hives. This video was shot early in the morning at sun up to catch as many bees in their hive as possible so they would all have a chance to reorient to their new location before they left for foraging.
