The gruesome catch was captured on camera by Rene van der Schyff, 50, a personal assistant from Phalaborwa, South Africa. This Young Lioness Is Beast Buddies With An Otter
An unusual friendship has formed between a playful otter and a mischievous lioness. Petite Annel Snyman has raised a lion and otter in her house – and now they are best friends. Annel runs Loebies Guesthouse and Predator Park in the Limpopo Province of South Africa – home to everything from lions and leopards to hyenas and meerkats. And in addition to her amazing interactions with the colossal animals, a fascinating friendship has developed on site between her pet lion Kumari and pet otter Moses.
Kumari was born earlier this year from an adult lioness and Annel is keeping a close eye on the first-born lioness. She used to live in a nursery in Annel’s house, but now that she’s bigger, she gets to roam outside and play.
The 34-year-old said: “The reason I have a close bond with the animals is because I raised them from a very young age. In 2009 I was introduced to wild cats and in 2010 I got the necessary permits to raise and keep lions. But, I still know that I need to respect them because they are wild animals.”
The furry friends often play fight together with Kumari using her huge paws to pin the tiny otter down. They follow each other around and seem to really enjoy causing mischief. Annel expects Kumari to keep playing with Moses even after she’s way bigger.

Baby Orangutan Learns To Climb After Being Shot
A tiny baby orangutan who was brutally shot and torn away from his mother has finally had the bullet removed after extensive rehabilitation. Didik the orangutan captured hearts around the world when he was brought to International Animal Rescue’s (IAR) orangutan centre in Ketapang, West Kalimantan - in Indonesian Borneo - with a bullet lodged in his shoulder.
IAR were alerted to Didik’s condition after he was handed over to a local shopkeeper. After months of rehabilitation and surgery little Didik is finally on the mend and is honing his expert climbing skills alongside his fellow orphans.
Despite starting his life in the worst way imaginable, this adorable orangutan now spends his days being pampered by the kind people that rescued him. He enjoys cuddling with his favorite plush toy that imitates the feeling of a mother, so it's no surprise that he is so peaceful while he lays on it and hugs it every chance he gets.
There have been many efforts in rescuing orangutans from poachers, and even though some animals don't have such luck, it is worth noting that what these rescue organizations do is of the utmost importance for preserving these kind and loving animals. Now Didik spends his days socializing with other orphaned baby orangutans, and some day he'll return to the wild so he can live his life to its full potential.

Training Giant Schnauzers - The $37,000 Guard Dogs I Big Dogz
DUBBED 'a wolf in sheep's clothing', the Giant Schnauzer is a breed of dog that might look docile but hides an aggressively protective nature. Leedor Borlant of Protection Dogs Worldwide has been training protection dogs for over a decade and says the Giant Schnauzer is one of the hardest breeds to train, making them cost from £30,000 upwards. Leedor's associate trainer Matt owns a Giant Schnauzer himself: "The reason why I got this breed in the first place was because of my asthma - a lot of the dogs used to set the asthma off and I found that the Giant Schnauzer didn't". Matt has returned to Protection Dogs Worldwide for a refresher session with his Giant Schnauzer Achilles: "He's back today just to see where he is after a period of time out - is it still going to perform after two years of doing nothing?" Matt said. Most people would associate the Schnauzer breed to the miniature and standard-sized one, whereas the giant ones are pretty rare. "I would still class them as cute and cuddly, with an underside that not many people see," said Matt.

Spider Vs Wasp In Battle To The Death: SNAPPED IN THE WILD
Laying only a single egg, the spider wasp has a brutal method to ensure its young have a high chance of survival. With a striking red thorax, the spider wasp gains its name from paralysing arachnids with its large stinger. The spider is then dragged into the wasp’s nest, where it will lay one egg into the still-alive abdomen of the spider, which will act as a ‘host’ to the young. The wasp larvae will then feed on the inside of the spider, till it breaks free as an adult wasp.

Coalition Of Cheetahs Attack Female | SNAPPED IN THE WILD
In June 2018, whilst on safari in Kgalagadi Transfrontier Park, Botswana, photographer Anton Campbell-Harris got a little too close for comfort with a coalition of cheetahs. During this safari, a female presumably on heat was being harassed by four male cheetahs. After failing an escape up a tree, this female cheetah sought safety in the fleet of cars, where a fight broke out between the angry female and persistent males - right next to the photographers vehicle. Luckily the males were so engrossed in the female cheetah, they didn’t notice all the cars windows were still open.

Male Jaguars Engage Into A Fierce Territorial Fight
Territorial claims and disputes are as deadly to animals as well as to humans. This video shows how determined one is to protect and maintain their territory. Nonetheless, with the overwhelming strength of the younger giant cat, the other is subdued. Should he fight till his last breath? Check the video to find out what happened.
Territory – a factor that is so vital for anything that lives. Anyone who does not have a space he or she can claim as their personal territory feels so restricted and not totally free to thrive. Thus, it is so important for one to define his or her own personal territory, no matter how small it is. Whether one is willing to share the enjoyment of such territory to another living creature is a choice that could be deadly. For cats, territory is very important - as important as life itself.
Marc Nussaume, a wildlife photographer is so lucky to have captured pictures and recorded videos while these jaguars fought. The two jaguars are named Scarface and Marley. They appear to be of the same size so it is difficult to say if they are young or old. But, as mentioned in the video, Scarface is twelve years old while Marley is four years old. At the start of the video, Scarface was shown doing his routine patrol over his territory of about thirty square miles. Wow, that is a wide territory, is it not? Well, if you read about the territory of jaguars online it says that female jaguars usually maintain a range of about twenty square kilometers to twice than this. On the other hand, the males have about double the range of the females territory.
If humans build walls or fences to mark their boundaries, how do jaguars mark their territory? Perhaps, there is no need to answer this question as you already know the answer. Now, marking is as important as protecting and maintaining the boundary of such territory thus, the more important question is how do these big cats ward off intruders?
No trespassing is their rule. These big cats are solitary in nature. They do not stay in a group like lions stay in a pack. Their tolerance level is so low that an intruder would surely spark a fierce fight. Nature photographer Marc Nussaume and his girlfriend Pailin were so lucky to have witnessed, snapped photos and take a video of this startling incident at Pantanal, Brazil when one male fights to defend his territory while the other fights to conquer and gain a new home. It must take much courage to track jaguars knowing that they are the beast of prey. With their long and sharp teeth and claws with a muscular body built and massive weight that may go as heavy as one hundred fifty kilograms, humans can easily be overpowered by these giant cats.
Will you dare track jaguars to obtain a unique video of how they defend their territory? If you dare go, be careful. You are not a rival or an intruder of these giant cats’ territory but you are to them a sumptuous meal. Remember that these creatures, no matter how gorgeous their coats are, are extremely dangerous.

This Tiny Rescued Pup Is Really Enjoying His Bath Time
We think it is pretty safe to say that we can divide all dogs in this world in just two categories - those who love bath time and those who run from it, never looking back. Whenever their owners mention the tedious activity, dogs either run straight for the bathroom, whining and barking at the tap to start running, or they run and hide behind anything they can think of, just to avoid getting a drop of water on them. It may have something to do with how they were treated when they were babies, which brings us to the conclusion that this little guy will love bath time forever and ever!
A two-week-old puppy was found abandoned in a dumpster with his two sisters. The small litter was found by Dallas Animal Service and referred to the DFW Rescue Me animal shelter, where volunteer Claire Fowler was tasked with looking after the babies.
Claire, a 21-year-old student, said: “The little guys need round-the-clock care – they can’t use the restroom by themselves or even regulate their own body temperature. I do everything for them and they need to be fed every couple of hours.”
When asked for what made her decide to film the puppy’s glorious moment of blissful nirvana, Claire said: “I decided to film him in the bath because he was enjoying it so much and I really wanted to capture it. He just looked so content.”
She adds that his sisters don’t enjoy bath time as much and would rather stay dirty, but it still has to be done. None of the babes have names yet because they are still so young, but Claire is certain they will all get good, strong names.

Brooklyn Cat Cafe Employs Rats To Care For Kittens
There are some people out there who believe that animals are just ordinary creatures but the truth is the animal kingdom never ceases to amaze and inspire us, making us put all our differences aside. Unusual friendships happen all the time and not just in the world of humans but with animals also. Giraffes and ostriches, dogs and owls, chickens and puppies, rabbits and deer, lions and bears are just handful examples of how friendships in the animal kingdom have no limits. And friends do not have to look anything alike to make a great team just as this unusual friendship proves.
Their friendship is definitely something to be admired and taken as an example. The extraordinary difference between these species is just not at all an issue for them to see as a barrier but better yet an opportunity to show the world that all of us can somehow find a way to get along and love each other.
Rats and cats aren’t famous for their strong friendship, however this New York cafe en'tails' peace and harmony between the furry animals. The Brooklyn Cat Cafe located on Atlantic Avenue has recruited two rodents, Emile and Remy, to help care for young orphaned kittens.
This is an extraordinary tail with a happy ending which is basically a sanctuary for animals that have lost their way and have been limited by nature in one way or another. This lovely cafe shop has found a amazing way to bring a news meaning to unusual friendships. People are free to walk in, get some coffee and enjoy the presence of cats and rats. These species are known to have no love for each other going by stereotypes, but don't you be to quick to say until you watch this video.

Florida Family Shares Their Home With 14 Bears
A daring mother and son duo have hand-raised 14 bears in their back garden. In the heart of Bearadise Ranch, Florida, Monica Welde and her son, Johnny IV, spend their days rolling around with bears that weigh up to 1,000lbs.
The Welde family have looked after grizzly bears, black bears and polar bears for the last 91 years – using their license to provide for those in need of a home. But the family tradition came under threat last year when Monica’s husband, Johnny III, died of a heart attack just after he turned 60. But with the help of her son, a devastated Monica has put her loss to one side so she can concentrate on continuing the family legacy and caring for their beloved pet bears.
It was Johnny III’s grandfather who introduced the giants to the Welde family in 1946. They have been training the bears for appearances in movies and TV shows. The youngest Johnny in the family was introduced to the potentially dangerous animals when he was only three and has always seen them as part of his family.
“Here at Bearadise Ranch our bears have natural habitats to come out and enjoy.” Monica says. “And our daily interaction with the bears is communication, loving, petting. They thrive on physical contact. That’s the greatest form of enrichment for the bears – the relationship we share with them which is based on mutual love and respect.”
Still, this dynamic duo admits they have a few scars from their interaction with the bears, but they say it is only natural when you deal with such powerful animals. They might not be your run-of-the-mill pet, but when you learn to read their signals, everyone can be a good friend with a wild animal.

Bald Birds Find Love In Polyamorous Relationship | Cute As Fluff
Love is in the air in Florida, as these three lovebirds have formed an unlikely polyamorous relationship. The new bird in town is three-year-old Rhea, who suffers from the same condition as once monogamous Indi and Lemon. Psittacine Beak and Feather Disease affects the feather follicles in birds, causing them to fall off completely. Both Rhea and Lemon have been completely affected by it, though Indi is yet to become bald.
Rhea’s owner had to give her precious pet away when her work visa had expired, because PBFD is highly contagious, but not present in every country in the world, and her native Panama is one of them.
Fortunately, Fabiana Guagliardo and her family have taken Rhea in as one of their own.
She said: "Since we already had Lemon and Indi, who also live with this disease, I already knew what to do! I guess that we were very worried at first. Mainly because Rhea is very intense and loves having all the attention in the room.
Fabiana was worried that Rhea might become a third wheel for her birds, but Indi warmed up to her immediately, allowing Lemon to rest, since she is worse off with her condition.
Despite sharing one male, the two females only ever get jealous over food. Fabiana says: "If Rhea uses or gets near Lemon’s yellow plate, they fight! Other than that, they share everything. Sharing is caring, right?”

One Animal Lover Is Providing Makeovers For New York’s Stray Dogs
A generous animal lover is helping find homes for New York’s stray dogs - by giving them a free bath and haircut. In 2016, almost 9000 homeless dogs were taken in by the Animal Care Centers of NYC according to the ACC Asilomar Statistics. Over half of these were strays found on the streets, with no owners to care for them, feed or groom them.
Armed with his scissors and electric clippers, volunteer dog groomer Mark Imhof has been visiting the centers for two years to help the homeless animals desperately in need of a haircut.
He said: "My wife and I adopted a Pitbull. She was filthy and I gave her a bath and I said, ‘Wouldn't it be great if somebody visited the shelter and cleaned up the shelter dogs?’, and that started my idea."
About two years ago Mark started coming in and grooming a few dogs at the ACC and in that time he’s transformed over 500 dogs, basically making him a fixture at the care centers.
After bathing and grooming the dogs, Mark drastically changes their appearance. And this also causes an immediate affect on the dogs' personality, with many of them instantly becoming more confident and happy.
Mark’s selfless acts of kindness has enabled many of the dogs to finally find their fur-ever homes, some within an hour of being groomed.
"There’s a great, lovable dog at the shelter, just waiting to be your new best friend. Adopt, don’t shop.
