This Woman Shares Her Home With 1,100 Felines
A caring cat lady has given up her 4,200 square foot home to more than a thousand felines. Sixty-seven-year-old Lynea Lattanzio now lives in a trailer on her six acre property and allows the cats to run freely through the five bedroom house. Today she runs Cat House On The Kings which is California’s largest no-cage, no kill sanctuary for feral and abandoned cats. Lynea and her team of volunteers care for about 800 adult cats and 300 kittens.
She started fostering cats in 1992 and acquired 96 by the end of the year - successfully rehoming all of them. In 1993 she became a veterinary technician to help keep the animals’ medical costs down and the number of cats continued to grow.
The team starts feedings at the shelter at 4 am and they also give medical attention to critically ill cats. To learn more about adoptions at Cat House On The Kings visithttp://www.cathouseonthekings.com
This is one interesting lady. We have heard of the stereotypical cat lady before, but this has taken that stereotype over the top! Over 1100 felines is insane! At least all these cats have a good home and will be happy and safe!
Having that many cats require a whole lot of cat food! She spends a a whole lot on those cats alone! Over a million dollars a year, that is crazy! If she ever runs out of the food, she could always buy some more cat food from Amazon!

Great White Shark Breaches Caught On Camera
DRAMATIC underwater footage captures the moment a Great White shark turns into a real-life Jaws – jumping out of the water to ravage tuna bait. Known as ‘breaching’, the predatory behaviour mirrors the instinctive moves made when sharks attacks seals. The footage was shot by cinematographer Elke Specker during a five day trip to Guadalupe island, Mexico – a well known breeding ground for the fearsome shark. The filmmakers’ persistence paid off as the 15ft, 3,500 pound male leapt majestically in full view of the cameras. The dive marked Specker’s first time first time being up close and personal with a Great White – the largest predatory shark in existence.

Home Made Remote-Controlled Camera Captures Animals Close Up
Meet BeetleCam - the amazing homemade gadget that allowed two British brothers to venture into a real lions' den and bring you these stunning images of Africa's most dangerous wildlife. The spectacular closeups of lion prides, elephant herds and huge cape buffalo's were all made possible by the cute remote-controlled gizmo who trundled around the roughly-terrained bush on oversized rubber wheels. Brothers Matthew Burrard-Lucas, 20, a student, and William, 26, a wildlife photographer, both from London, constructed BeetleCam last year in their garage and fitted the groundbreaking contraption with a camera. For two weeks in August they let their electronic camouflaged companion loose in the wilds of remote Katavi National Park, South-West Tanzania, and got incredible results. During their excursion tough BeetleCam was almost completely destroyed by a lion but was repaired by the brothers using some bush DIY.

Orphaned Elephant Calves Have Human Baby Handlers
These adorable youngsters have found unlikely friends in orphaned elephant calves. Rescued from a forest last year, the one-year-old elephants now live in Vandular zoo in southern India where they are cared for by a team of mahouts and their children. The youngsters are carried home from school on the elephant's backs, shower together, play football and even sleep curled up with them. Zoo staff believe without this friendship and love the orphaned elephants would have died soon after being rescued.

This Big Cat Likes To Play Soccer
For South Africa, 2010 was the year of soccer, something even the animals at the Johannesburg ZOO had felt. The animal that was most excited about the World Cup was Triton, their white lion, who could be seen running around the enclosure with a soccer ball, at the amazement of visitors.
"This year, being 2010, we just thought it would be a good idea to do a soccer-themed behaviour enrichment programme," said the zoo's brand and communications manager, Letta Madlala. "[The programme] is not something new; it's just the angle that's befitting at this point in time."
Triton might have been the most excited about playing with the balls, but the female lions held their own competition. Children and adults alike were enthralled with the vigorous display of agility; even the zookeepers were enchanted.
White lions are uncommon, even in the wild; the Joburg Zoo was the first to breed a white lion cub. Most white lions found in other zoos originate from the Joburg zoo, which highlights the importance of conservation.
White lions are not albinos - their coloring is a genetic mutation. They are a genetic color mutation of African lions native to the Timbavati area, although all but one pride has existed solely in captivity since their first natural wildlife reintroduction in 2009.

Diver Puts Shark In Trance To Remove Hook From Its Mouth
We have seen so many videos where mere humans come out to help hapless animals in dire circumstances. Deer have been untangled from wire fencing, turtles were rescued from fishing nets… but we have never seen a diver approach one of the most dangerous creatures of the sea to help it out. Until now.
One brave diver puts his hands next to the mouth of a dusky shark to remove a fishing hook, but not before hypnotizing the predator. The footage shows experience diver Michael Dornellas coming to the aid of the shark off the coast of Jupiter, Florida.
The technique he uses is called “tonic immobility”, which allows Michael to shove his hand into the 10 foot shark and remove the hook from its mouth. It is quite common to see a shark swimming with a hook in its mouth in the waters around Florida, as fishermen catch them for sport and then release them, with the hook intact. Since they are stainless steel, it can take years for them to rust and human intervention is necessary.
The 32-year-old explains that this is never 100% safe; nothing guarantees your safety when you are swimming with predators. "I’ve seen hooks work their way back, cutting open the jaws of the shark,” he said.
The self-employed diver has been swimming with sharks for years and currently teaches people about them. He hopes that the clip will educate people that sharks aren’t the vicious killing machines that Hollywood likes to portray them as.

Adorable Newborn Rhino Rescued After Being Abandoned By Its Mother
A baby rhino abandoned as a newborn due to a case of mistaken identity was saved by a local rescue team. The rhino, now one month old, lives with the team at Aquila Rescue Centre, who have developed an 18 month plan to reintroduce him into the wild. Looking after the young calf is a full-time occupation, with the baby needing to be fed every two hours. He has also be assigned a mentor to teach him how to graze, something his mother would have done.
On New Year’s Eve 2015, the staff at the Aquila Rescue Center in Cape Town, South Africa, received a call about an injured rhino calf in the wilderness. The team discovered the baby rhino close to midnight, slumped in the dirt. According to Divan Grobler, a member of the conservationist team, his mother probably mistook her baby with another newborn in the vicinity and left her own by mistake.
The team spent the entire night with the baby, trying to locate its mother and reunite them, but had no luck. Ten hours had passed without luck and the calf was getting hungry. The team brought the baby rhino back to the center and tried again the next day, only for the mother to reject him once more.
“In the early morning, after about four hours, the mother still hadn’t come back for the baby, so we had to improvise,” Divan said. “We took him back to the mom and tried to reintroduce him, but we were unsuccessful. The mom was totally confused.” The dad also intervened, causing the team to panic. By now, the baby had gone 10 hours without nutrition and it desperately needed its mother’s milk. Their hopes weren’t high, but this little guy showed him just how big of a warrior spirit he had.
Now one month old, the baby rhino lives with the team at Aquila Rescue Centre. They have developed an 18-month plan to reintroduce their newest protegee back in the wild, where he belongs. Until then, he needs to be fed every two hours and can consume 15-20% of his body weight in formula. Not to mention the exercise!
“I am the one that has been doing the bulk of the night feeding and I have woken up with the calf sucking on my elbows or knees if he is hungry,” Divan said in an interview with MailOnline. “He is inclined to be clumsy, very much like any young animal, and to see him mock charging is very amusing. He also knows how to use his horn he knock us over when kneeling down to feed him.
“He is boisterous, wanting to play and have fun and we are challenged to keep a sterile environment such as that of a new born baby by sterilizing teats, bottles etc. and practicing the utmost of hygiene discipline so as to avoid life threatening infections and bacteria. He gets very anxious is he is left alone, so one of us always has to be with him,” Grobler added.
Releasing this baby as a healthy rhino back into the wild is crucial for conservation, since poaching till poses a huge problem. Rhino numbers have dropped as low as 50 in the early 20th century and have recently risen to 20,000. “This guy is vital in the conservation effort,” Divan said. “He can supply a strong bloodline and genetics for the white rhino’s future.”

This Shark Is Believed To Be The Biggest One In The World
Unseen footage of what experts believe is the biggest great white shark ever caught on camera has been released. The 20 feet long female known as Deep Blue stunned the world last year when video was unveiled of it dwarfing cage divers off the coast ofGuadalupe Island, Mexico.
Now, diving enthusiast Michael Maier, 48, has released even more eye-catching clips of the Great White shark feeding on bait and inquisitively circling divers. Deep Blue, who is estimated to be at least 50 years old, was filmed by Michael in November 2013 - but these latest files were previously unseen.
The seasoned diver released even more eye-catching clips of the huge shark as it was feeding on a bait and circling the divers in a cage. “When we entered the water we had to wait because there was nothing to see. All of a sudden out of the deep blue, there she came. We realized almost immediately that she was very big." says Michael.
“She was very calm and not at all nervous and was circling us. She was very interested and was looking at us. During the circles we realized just how big she was - she must have been something like seven meters long (20 feet). Everything was very well prepared. The whole team felt safe."
The salesman from the Cologne area also described Deep Blue as graceful, rather than scary. He admitted that he loves that, no matter Deep Blue's massive force, it was quiet and beautiful to be with her in the water.

Sweet Little Pitbull Learns To Swim In Bathtub
Dogs are well-known for the friendship they build with humans. While some of them are being raised as pets, others get their skills upgraded and are turned into protection dogs. Dark Dynasty K9s in New Hampshire, USA, specialises in training elite protection dogs for the police, celebrities and billionaire clients around the world.
One of their world-famous dogs is the 175lb Pitbull Hulk. Recently he and his mate Roxy have had another litter of puppies. Four weeks have passed since they were born, so now has come the time when these cute little puppies should start getting familiar with their surroundings. The first step is introducing them to the water. It is very important for these dogs to not be afraid of the water, because when they grow up, they should be able to jump in every situation and defend their owner.
"Water is an element of life and if the dog is going to be a top protection dog they really need to be prepared for anything." says Marlon Grennan from Dark Dynasty.
That’s why Marlon and Lisa Grennan prepare Hulk and his latest brood for a swimming lesson in the bathtub. First the puppies are being introduced to the warm water coming from the faucet and later they give it a try in the bathtub filled with water.
The bravest of them all is tiny Tigger. Such a suitable name for a fighter like him. He starts kicking his paws the moment he touches the water surface. Sure, he drinks a little from the water, but it doesn’t matter, because he has overcome his fear. After him, his siblings try their luck in the bath.
The swimming lessons are over, so now it’s time for pappa Hulk to nuzzle with his son Tigger. Watch how this cute dog dynasty prepares for its future challenges!

Elephant Attack: Circus Animal Lifts Car Off The Ground
Loose circus elephant smashes a car and terrifies holidaymakers after being beaten by a handler. This video was filmed in Danish beach town Karrebaeksminde and the shocking footage was captured by Norwegian car salesman tourist Oddmar Nygard, 48, on July 11 who was on a holiday with his family.
Three elephants become agitated after being bathed in the sea in front of a large crowd. The bathing of elephants in the sea is an annual tradition which is popular with the locals. When circus workers started to lose control, the huge beasts approached onlookers. One of the animals seems very distressed and shows rage after being struck with a metal crowbar by one of the keepers.
This rampaging circus elephant smashes a car and terrifies holidaymakers after appearing to be beaten by a handler. The angry animal shows incredible display of brute strength, and lifts up a Skoda Fabia with its tusks. This elephant puts very little effort to push the vehicle up, which shows his amazing strength.
“There were many cars and a lot of people in the street, the elephants probably got a bit stressed by this", says Oddmar. Obviously the elephant got somehow irritated after being hit and started going after the vehicle.
When the car owner tried to reach his car, circus staff stopped him as car windows started to crush and there was a lot of damage in the front of the car.
Many of the witnesses were scared when the situation escalated, even the circus staff, as the animal was out of control. Elephants are massive creatures and nobody knows what they are capable to do when they are distressed.

Big Bull Shark Is Spotted In The Backyard Of A Resident’s Home
This unsettling video footage shows a shark prowling in the backyard of one stunned Florida resident’s home. Dick Frey, 69, shot the frightening footage two weeks ago from his home in Bonita Springs. In the video, the nine-foot bull shark is spotted swimming close to the docks through the channel just outside his building.
It was a sunny morning when this elderly man decided to have his first coffee just outside in his backyard, when he suddenly noticed something strange in the waters. Soon, he realized in shock that it's a giant shark, curiously wandering around.
The man was quick to shoot all of this on camera, even though we're sure he was terrified by the sight. As much as sharks are scary, they are pretty simple creatures that do not want much to do anything with humans. They are a valuable animal that is part of the ecosystem of the ocean and without them, the balance of the ocean would be in dismay. The video is like a scene from a Hollywood horror movie and it makes our blood freeze in our veins. Imagine seeing a shark in the pool of your own backyard. Wouldn’t you be taken aback? We bet you would!
Just look how it is roaming freely in the water without even taking notice of where it is. It looks like this shark doesn’t bother that it isn’t swimming in the deep blue of the ocean as long as it has enough space to make itself happy.
If you are curious about some more bull shark sightings, then we suggest watching the following video where reef sharks brought a pair of bull sharks, one of the most aggressive and unpredictable of the shark species. What started as a quiet dive became more thrilling than these divers expected. The sharks passed close enough to give a very clear view of their cold eyes and impressive teeth. Divers know that there is a fine line between curiosity and aggression and that improper behavior will have serious consequences.
The divers in this video all surfaced without any incidents, but they were all surprised to have been greeted by the bull sharks. This dive took place on a wall near the famous Blue Hole near San Pedro, Belize. Reef sharks are a relatively common sight but it is quite rare to see bull sharks swimming so close to scuba divers.
The truth is that shark attacks are rare, even in the case of bull sharks, and if the divers remain calm, stay together and stay vertical, their chance of experiencing a serious problem is very small. Even though they know this to be true, the divers can be seen moving closer together and instinctively pulling their feet and hands in closer.
Have you ever seen one of these sharks before? What would your reaction be if you saw one of these? We would love to hear your opinion so please do not hesitate to leave a comment! Please share this video with your family and friends as it will surely shock them. This is one clip that no one should miss!

40-tonne Humpback Rocks A Boat
TWO 40 tonne humpback whales put on a show to remember for the inhabitants of this small boat - at one point coming so close that they accidentally collided with it. The incredible once-in-a-lifetime encounter was captured on camera by professional nature photographer Craig Parry off the coast of Byron Bay, Australia, where he was whale watching with his father.
The marine giants were in playful mood, circling the small boat for around 90 minutes and ‘spyhopping’ - peeking their head out of the water to get a closer look at their surroundings. But it wasn’t all plain sailing - during the course of their revels, one of the whales collided with the front of the boat, lifting it up in the water and giving Craig and his dad a fright.

Hunchback Hound Quasimodo Thinks He Is Casanova And Steals Everyone’s Hearts
Quasimodo, a purebred German shepherd with short spine syndrome, is gaining fans online with his story. Named after the "Hunchback of Notre Dame" character, Quasi is one of only 13 known dogs in the world with short spine syndrome, a genetic condition, according to Secondhand Hounds.
Quasi is missing a couple of vertebra in his back, but that is not causing him pain. His back cannot be surgically repaired and he is unable to turn his head, but otherwise his condition doesn't affect his day-to-day activities.
The dog was taken in by Secondhand Hounds, animal shelter in Eden Prairie, Minnesota. Rachel Mairose from Secondhand Hounds says that he is goofy and likes girl dogs, he thinks he is Casanova not Quasimodo, everyone who meets him falls in love with him almost immediately. Rachel is confident that he is not in pain and does not need to be euthanized, he can do most things that a normal dog can do, with just a few limitations.
Four-year-old Quasimodo was discovered as a stray dog in Kentucky and it took authorities five days to catch him. Now he is enjoying his new life at his home in Secondhand Hounds in Eden Prairie, Minnesota, USA. Secondhand Hounds, which has rescued almost 10,000 dogs since opening in 2009, has received more than 1,200 offers to adopt Quasimodo full-time.
Thanks to his Facebook page Quasimodo has become a global celebrity with nearly 100,000 likes.
