WORLD first footage shows a baby blue whale nursing captured off the South Coast of Sri Lanka. The incredibly rare footage taken by wildlife film-maker Patrick Dykstra shows an approximately 80-foot blue whale mother feeding her calf. Blue whales are typically known to nurse their calves deep under the water - so the sight captured in Sri Lanka was an extremely special one. Zookeepers at Chester Zoo are celebrating the birth of a critical endangered Bornean orangutan. The fuzzy orange baby is the first of its kind to be born at the British zoo in almost a decade and is an important milestone for conservationist efforts. Recent estimates indicate that less than 55,000 Bornean orangutans are left on the island of Borneo in Indonesia - the only place they can be found in the wild. In Four Worth Texas, nurse Taylor Williams and her husband Brad have two adorable and unusual dogs, Prince the prairie dog and the German shepherd named Banksy. They were first introduced in April 2016. Even though they have huge size difference, the two of them created a bond immediately after they saw each other for the first time in their lives. "We got Prince on 21 April 2016 and named him Prince after the singer because he passed away on that same day. There is definitely a learning curve with raising a <a href="https://rumble.com/v337lf-fat-prairie-dog-eating-a-carrot.html" target="_blank">prairie dog</a>. We just assumed it was like having a regular dog - we were wrong. He has so much personality and is so smart. He actually has to go to time out when he is in trouble! This married couple has one more pet, the 11-year-old Yorkshire Terrier named Coco. A PULSATING cicada sheds its exoskeleton after living underground as a nymph for seven years. The cyclochila australasian, also knows as the green grocer, is a species of cicada and Australia’s most recognised and loudest insect. Taken over a period of just under two hours, Australian wildlife photographer Brad Leue caught one cicada shedding its exoskeleton atop a veranda pole. Using a tripod and torch, Brad documented the transformation in a stop motion consisting of 3,466 photographs. RING-TAILED lemurs have successfully conceived twins in the world’s oldest zoo. On Saturday March 25, the tiny twins were born at the Schönbrunn Zoo in Vienna – weighing around 70 grams each. The newborns will be suckled for around six months and will begin to eat fruit and vegetables by the time they have turned one. A tiny horse that lives in Georgia, USA, and suffers from a rare form of dwarfism has become an Internet sensation after his owner posted a video to Facebook. 5-months-old Shammy weights just 50 pounds and he’s little over 20 inches tall. This little fella’s condition may make him smaller than his fellow equines - but that doesn’t stop him from being mischievous and delighting his online fan base. Everyone loves Shamy. People in shops and the town hair salon just adore him and take pictures of him all the time, so he is fast becoming an online sensation. "He’s a one in a million. He’s very lovable." says his owner Michelle. It was literally love at first sight. When he was barely 30 days old people came by to see him, some of them wanted to take him home or even buy him. But, of course, his owner Michele will never sell him. When Shammy is not causing trouble around Michelle’s farm, he wants to relax and show his more loving side. "When he’s ready to nap, I can come over and lay him down. He will stay with me until i get him up. Shammy is almost like a dog. He would rather be with me than a herd of horses or even with his <a href="https://rumble.com/v3lgrl-golden-retriever-welcomes-back-his-marine-momma.html" target="_blank">momma</a> sometimes. He follows me around..." He even waits for her in the yard when she comes back from the town. Diving is a sports activity which allows you to swim underwater and to explore the environment. Carmelo Abela, a 49-year-old diver loves diving with his Jack Russell Terrier. Titti’s incredible talent and human-like act attracted fans on social media. This diving dog scores a perfect "10" as she launches herself off a clifftop into the clear blue waters of St Peter's Pool in Malta. This Jack Russell Terrier, named Titti, can even perform a synchronized dive with her loving owner, 49-year-old Carmelo Abela. Titti, attracted fans to flock to Marsaxlokk, a fishing village in south east Malta, after footage of the duo's jump was shared online. <a href="https://rumble.com/v342u2-incredible-dog-loves-to-do-amazing-jumps.html" target="_blank">This brave dog manages to jump like humans do</a>. When she launches herself at the clifftop into the clear blue waters of St Peter’s Pool in Malta, he makes the highest score, after which he patiently waits for his owner at the cliff. Tucked away in a cosy cottage in Berkshire is a hospital that rescues over 700 hedgehogs a year. In 2007, web developer Gill Lucraft started the rescue centre Hedgehog Bottom after discovering an hedgehog hidden under a pile of leaves in her garden. Her love of the iconic British animal has now taken over entire rooms of her house and hogs are stacked up in her front room, dining room and living room. HIGHLY-TRAINED dogs are the latest weapon in the battle against rampant rhino and elephant poaching at Kenya’s Ol Pejeta Conservancy. From tracking to attacking, these specialised canines are tasked with protecting the park’s precious wildlife. Ol Pejeta Conservancy is home to some of the most endangered wildlife in the world and, in 2013 with poaching threats on the rise, the park established an anti-poaching dog unit consisting mainly of a special breed of dog known as a Malinois. A DISABLED orca first spotted by a couple in 2013 returns to greet them four years later - and now he’s leading the pod. In 2013, photographer and marine tour guides Rainer and Silke Schimpf spotted a young killer whale, who they named Sira, with a missing dorsal fin and right-side pectoral fin, leaving him unable to hunt for himself. But rather than be left to fend for itself or - even worse - die the young calf appeared to be cared for by members of its pod, which shared food with the youngster. Four years later, by chance and coincidence, Rainer and Silke were out at sea in Algoa Bay, South Africa, documenting a pod of 1000 common dolphin hunting sardine when they had the surprise of a lifetime. A zebra was saved from being strangled to death on a snare by a rescue team. In January, KaiNav Conservation Foundation’s S.N.A.R.E team were undertaking a routine illegal snare clearing operation in Tswaing Meteorite Crater Nature Reserve in Gauging Province, South Africa when they spotted the zebra struggling in the snare. Calling in wildlife veterinarians to assist with darting and treatment of the animal, the KaiNav team kept a watchful eye on the zebra for four hours until the veterinarian team arrived. A 500-POUND lion and a cute miniature sausage dog have completely turned the idea of fighting like cats and dogs on its head. Bonedigger, a five-year old male lion, and Milo, a seven-year old Dachshund dog, are so close that Milo nonchalantly licks the massive <a href="https://rumble.com/v3538b-cute-animal-friends-lion-and-dog-kiss.html" target="_blank">lion</a>'s teeth to clean them. The two have been inseparable over the past five years at G.W Exotic Animal Park in Wynnewood, Oklahoma. Bonedigger and his pack of dogs cuddle, feast on raw meat and play in the grounds together. The park was damaged and flooded, but is managing to provide shelter for domestic and wild creatures that are homeless because of the storm. BIRTHING season for the Tanzanian wildebeests sees thousands of calves being born at once - and one new baby struggles to find its feet. Visiting the Ngorongoro area of the southern Serengeti in the months of February and March, it is likely to see numerous wildebeest births, as photographer Yulia Sundukova discovered. February marks the start of the great migration, and almost 500,000 wildebeest calves are born within a two-week period. Found in subtropical regions, amblypygi are an ancient order of arachnids dating back to the Carboniferous period; over 300 million years ago. A baby hippo shocked zoo keepers when it arrived six weeks ahead of schedule. The Nile hippopotamus was born to 17-year-old Bibi on January 24 at Cincinnati Zoo, but the calf - a female hippo - was not expected to deliver until March. As the premature hippo was too small to stand and nurse from Bibi, the veterinary staff moved the baby to the zoo’s nursery where she could receive around the clock care. Two female leopards are caught having a catfight up a tree in Zambia, Africa. The ferocious felines were mother and daughter, and were snapped by safari guides as they fought over a comfy spot in the tree. Forget Pugs, Pomeranians or Chihuahuas - the rich and famous could soon be carrying a Pit Bull in their Gucci handbags. These adorable canines are valued for over $50,000 and their friendly nature but buff exterior makes them the new craze in the United States. A new breed of “<a href=”https://rumble.com/v30qph-micro-pigs-2.html” target=”_blank”>micro</a> pit bulls” is rapidly becoming the must-have canine companion in the world of designer dogs. John Truitt, 30, from Long Beach in California, runs The Collectibulls, a company which breeds, trains, and sells ‘bullies’ to customers around the world, and is a leading advocate for the breed. His signature dog is Queen Califa, a 12-inch-high “micro pit bull” who has been valued at over $75,000. He goes to say that what sets these dogs apart from the ordinary American Pit Bull are both the size and the character. Micro bullies stand at about 9 to 11 inches, while their larger relatives easily reach 21 inches. The largest dog in this category is actually named <a href=”https://rumble.com/v32wta-giant-pit-bull-hulks-500000-puppy-litter.html” target=”_blank”>Hulk</a> and he weighs around 175 pounds. One of the main things John wishes to accomplish by promoting this breed is to assure people that pit bulls are not the scary monsters they are portrayed out to be.
