In this recount of Jesus’ interaction with this woman, who had just been caught in adultery, we see, once again, how Jesus chooses to relate to her even though she sinned. He does not deny the reality that she had just sinned, and neither does she. She knows she is guilty, and the Law God gave to Moses says she is supposed to be stoned to death.

But even though she sinned against Jesus, and He will shortly pay for all the sins of humanity, He chooses to show her the Goodness and Grace of God. He chooses to show her that God is not only Just, but He is Gracious and Merciful. And His response to the woman caught in adultery is, “Go and sin no more!”
