"Since I Fell For You," written by Buddy Johnson, was Lenny Welsh's only top 10 hit rising to the no. 4 position on the Billboard Hot 100 chart in 1963 (Whitburn, 2013). Although Johnson's song has been recorded my many artists, Welsh's version is the highest charting version and is considered a classic. The first recording of the song was by Buddy Johnson & His Orchestra back in 1945 with his sister Ella Johnson singing the lead (secondhandsongs, 2023). In 1947, Annie Laurie with Paul Gayten and His Trio had a no. 20 hit with the song on the Billboard chart (Whitburn, 1986).
