As the century nears its formidable end, our global experience of universal proportions, predicted by many greats, will arrive at our solar system, to our system of a down. Authoritarian oppression, family abuse, depression caused by conformity, and economic devastation will be neutralized by technological terrorism in times of complete chaos. Control will never again be gained for toleration will become extinct. A husband quarreling with his wife will not think twice or regret his spent bullet. Hungry children will not spare the grocer. Remorse in all forms will be removed from human thoughts and actions. Freedom will only be available through revolution or death. This system of a down is unavoidable as life on this planet becomes unnecessary. The hand has five fingers, capable and powerful, with the ability to destroy as well as create. We have the power to stop and reverse the tides of time by making our awareness of abuse known to the powers of industry and their uncouth political arms. Only by raising the awareness and promoting personal peace within today's self-defeatist society, can we allow the planet a chance to avoid self-destruction!

there used to be a website http://www.avictimofadown.com where this poem was hosted but within the last 3 years it has been unhosted and this is no longer a website. You can see evidence it was an active website at the below link. I believe the website was hosted by SOAD band members, probably by Serj Tankian.

I think its significant that this website hosting this futuristic poem by the band has been online since basically 9/11 took place, and just recently taken offline. Understanding the meaning of this poem, our current point in history with a Biblical perspective, I just wonder if this is a subtle signal. SOAD gave a lot of subtle Biblical perspectives in their music, and Serj continues to do so. Their last 2 songs were, 'protect this land', 'genocidal humanoids', protect this land shows an Armenian Christian Priest, genocidal humanoids lyrics are clear, 'we never worked for the devil'. If they didn't work for the devil, did they work for God/Jesus? Was their goal to implant messages into their addictive music to get their mind numbing followers to wake up, think, consider, and find Jesus? At the prophets of rage tour Serj sang 'like a stone' https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GCsUD9mKeFM . the message is clear in this song too, seek the spiritual, pursue God, seek truth outside of yourself. Maybe their life's work was all done to hopefully initiate a small spark in people's minds and hearts that would eventually lead them to Christ.
