Similarities between Christ and Samson
1. Samson's and Jesus' births were both foretold by angels,, who predicted that they would save their people.
2. Samson was born to a barren woman, and Jesus was born of a virgin.
3. Samson defeated a lion; Jesus defeated Satan, whom the First Epistle of Peter describes as a "roaring lion looking for someone to devour".
4. Samson's betrayal by Delilah has also been compared to Jesus' betrayal by Judas Iscariot; both Delilah and Judas were paid in pieces of silver for their respective deeds.
5. Samson was "blinded, insulted [and] enslaved" prior to his death, and that Jesus was "blindfolded, insulted, and treated as a slave" prior to his crucifixion.
6. Samson's death among "the wicked" with Christ being crucified between two thieves.
7. Samson destroyed the stronghold of wickedness (Dagon temple w/3,000 people), Jesus defeated death and atoned for sin for all time.
8. Samson spoke in riddles, Christ spoke in parables, the answer to Samson's riddle is Christ who is 'sweeter than honey and stronger than a lion' (Christ defeated death and satan is what it means).
9. The Holy Spirit was Samson's source of physical strength, Jesus Christ had this same spirit being God's Son.
10. Samson loved pagan women and harlots, Christ was a friend of tax collectors, sinners and prostitutes.
11. Both Samson and Jesus were born in obscure places, not prominent locations in Israel.
12. Jesus was a nazarene, this word shares its root meaning with nazarite which Samson was. The root word means 'promise to God', early Christians called themselves nazarenes (the promised people).
13. Samson's name means 'little light', he grew up/born in Bethshemesh 'city of light', Jesus is the Yeshua HaMashiach, the anointed savior who came down from heaven.
14. Samson was single-handedly responsible for the most (physical) victories over Israels enemies, Christ was single-handedly responsible for (spiritual) complete victory over death and sin for all time.

The song talks of a whore/prostitute that is suffering, possibly even completing an abortion in the sink. This represents Israel as seen in Hosea and the unfaithful bride referenced by almost every prophet in OT. The adulterous woman told Him (Christ) to 'go away' with a smile, Israel is guilty of this, has followed other gods, has become the synagogue of satan (dagon 'dagon' means abundance). Jesus throughout time has rescued His people, His 'sweet revenge' will be for His people (Rom 12:19) and will occur in the 2nd coming described in Revelation. He will conquer in the way of Samson!
