Far Cry Instincts (Xbox) Gameplay Sample

I forgot how good this game is. What an awesome port to the original Xbox as well. I am using my Xbox 360 to play this footage, but the original Xbox Far Cry is so fun and playable. For Xbox Standards, this is one of the top-tier best looking graphics on the system, coming out in 2005. For a system that only had 4 full years of support, we never got to see the full potential of the original Xbox.

I've never played the PC version of Far Cry, I'm sure it looks and runs better. The Xbox version still has addictive, fun gameplay and for the time, amazing graphics. Last gen Xbox games could compete with first-gen 360 games graphically. **Edit** Looking it up, apparently the Xbox version is completely different from the PC original. I was today years old when I found that out. Kinda cool. This means I should definitely pick the PC version up as well.

The gun-play and gameplay in this game are really fun and engrossing. Again, I forgot how much I liked this game. The only downside of the Xbox version is the same downside with the Xbox version of Doom 3, every time you boot it up it has a pretty long, unskipable cutscene that masks a really long initial load time.

Other than that, this game is so fun to play, has a really cool level editor, and you could even play created maps online against other players. Maybe someday I'll pick up the PC version, but the Xbox version still plays great. Awesome game. If you are collecting for the OG Xbox, pick this game up.

Note: I also have Vengeance on the Wii which I have barely played. Maybe I should pack up the 360, and PS3, and set my Wii up for Wii and GameCube Gameplay samples. Maybe soon.
