This day holds profound historical significance as it commemorates the sacrifices, struggles, and unwavering determination of the people who fought for the nation's autonomy.
With a backdrop of a turbulent colonial era, Pakistan emerged as a sovereign nation through the vision and leadership of its founding fathers, such as Muhammad Ali Jinnah. The day symbolises the culmination of years of relentless efforts, protests, and movements that aimed to break the chains of subjugation.
Every year, Pakistanis across the globe come together to celebrate this day with immense pride and patriotism. The festivities are marked by flag hoisting ceremonies, parades, cultural events, and vibrant displays of the national colours, green and white. The air resonates with the national anthem, a powerful reminder of the sacrifices that paved the way for the nation's liberty.

It prompts citizens to remember the struggles of their forefathers and renews their commitment to safeguard the freedom that was hard-fought. INTERNATIONAL HOMELESS ANIMALS’ DAY Quotes
INTERNATIONAL HOMELESS ANIMALS’ DAY
International Homeless Animals’ Day on the third Saturday in August focuses on the pet overpopulation problem and how to help solve it.
Sadly, over 70 million homeless animals fill shelters in the United States. Unfortunately, the epidemic expands beyond our borders. Many countries around the globe face extreme homelessness among domesticated animals. In Europe, approximately 100 million abandoned and homeless animals roam the streets. Most of these homeless animals are dogs and cats. On a global scale, 600 million dogs seek homes or wander the streets.
However, organizations step up to reduce the number of homeless, find homes and prevent the population from increasing. Through events designed to educate and increase awareness, groups provide several opportunities for people to get involved. Some of the people who get involved include animal protection organizations, celebrities, and even people like you and me. That means anyone concerned with the welfare of animals. As the day sheds light on the problem of pet overpopulation, it also promotes the importance of spaying or neutering.
International Homeless Animals’ Day has an enormous reach. Over 50 countries and 6 continents observe the day. In the United States, all 50 states and the District of Columbia hold events in honor of the observance.
HOW TO OBSERVE #InternationalHomelessAnimalsDay
The International Society for Animal Rights (ISAR) plans many events each year for this special day. Some include adopt-a-thons, spay/neuter clinics, dog walks, and various fundraisers. However, they also hold a special candlelight vigil to memorialize animals that have died because of pet overpopulation.
When considering bringing a new pet into your life, keep this day in mind. Also, if you’re concerned about the pet population, consider participating. Here are some things you can do to observe the day:
Commit to volunteering at your local animal shelter
Adopt a homeless cat or dog
Start raising money for your local animal shelter
Educate others on the importance of spaying/neutering
Encourage people to adopt a pet rather than buy one
Use #InternationalHomelessAnimalsDay to share on social media.
INTERNATIONAL HOMELESS ANIMALS’ DAY HISTORY
In 1959, the ISAR was founded. It may be the first-ever animal rights organization in the world. Those who organized the ISAR aimed to hold humans accountable for the needless suffering and exploitation of animals. Since then, the ISAR has been involved in several animal rights issues. The ISAR worked to increase penalties for those who abuse animals. Another area of focus includes stopping pet shops from selling animals and ending online sales of cats and dogs.
In 1992, the ISAR observed the first International Homeless Animals’ Day to bring awareness to the increasing numbers of homeless animals. Very simply, ISAR believes spaying and neutering solve the pet overpopulation problem.

The kind of photography we know today dates back to 1839. At that time, the French Academy of Sciences announced the Daguerreotype process. The process made it possible to create a highly detailed image on a sheet of copper. The sheet was coated with a thin coat of silver, and the process did not require the use of a negative. It became the first method for obtaining a permanent image with a camera.

The first person to break the news of Japan’s surrender was U.S. President Harry S. Truman. He made the announcement at a press conference at the White House on August 14th, 1945. At midnight the UK’s Prime Minister Clement Atlee confirmed the end of WWII. He stated, “The last of our enemies is laid low.”

INTERNATIONAL LEFT HANDERS DAY | AUGUST 13
International Left Handers Day on August 13th recognizes all those individuals who have mastered using their left hand in a right-handed world. We take our hats off to you – left-handed!
#LeftHandersDay
Approximately 10% of the population are southpaws. Scientists don’t know why a person develops left-handedness. But it’s more likely a child will be left-handed if one parent is a lefty, too. Parents of left-handed children used to force them to use their right hands. In the eyes of right-handers, the predominant use of the left hand seemed evil. Parents feared their communities would shun their children. While we accept left-handedness more readily than days gone by, its occurrence hasn’t increased.

INTERNATIONAL DAY OF STREET CHILDREN – April 12
International street children's Day/street children's Day/street children's Day Quotes
INTERNATIONAL DAY OF STREET CHILDREN
Every year on April 12th, International Day for Street Children provides a voice for children that live on the street so their rights cannot be ignored. The day provides opportunities for human rights organizations to spread awareness of the number of street children throughout the world.
According to recent statistics, up to 150 million children throughout the world live on the street. Some children live on the street with their families. Other children spend the majority of their time on the street begging for food and money. Still, others live on the street as orphans with no family or no home to return to at night.
There are many reasons children end up on the street. One of the most common reasons is they live in a country where war and conflict are rampant. Children in this situation are either separated from their family or their family members have died. Some children leave home voluntarily because they are abused by family members. Other children live on the street because they are rejected by their families, have mental health issues, or are being forced into criminal activity. No matter what the case, street children are often denied an education, health care, and other basic human rights.
Human Rights
In 1989, the UN held the Convention on the Rights of the Child. According to the Convention, some of the rights that all children in the world should have included the right to:
a stable, loving, and nurturing environment
healthcare and nutrition
clean water and electric power
equal opportunities
live in dignity and freedom
Sadly, children on the street do not have these rights. It’s for this reason that organizations such as the Consortium for Street Children (CSC) are trying to enact the Four Steps to Equality. These steps include making a commitment to equality, protecting every child, providing access to services, and creating new solutions.
HOW TO OBSERVE #InternationalDayForStreetChildren
On this day, the CSC as well as many other human rights organizations, hold informational seminars, panel discussions, and fundraisers. Such events educate the public on the plight of street children. It’s also the goal of these events to spread awareness about the increasing numbers of street children and find ways to protect discover ways you can help them.
Volunteer at an organization that helps street children or children that are homeless.

WORLD PARKINSON’S DAY – April 11
WORLD PARKINSON’S DAY – April 11/PARKINSON’S DAY/WORLD PARKINSON’S DAY 2023 / PARKINSON’S DAY Quotes
WORLD PARKINSON’S DAY
Every year on April 11th, World Parkinson’s Day raises awareness for this progressive nervous system disorder. It’s also a day to help the general public understand the reality of this disease for those who have it.
According to recent statistics from the Parkinson’s Foundation, over 10 million people in the world have this disease. This neurodegenerative disorder occurs when neurons in the brain break down or die. When these nerve cells die, it reduces dopamine levels in the brain. Dopamine is a neurotransmitter that sends messages from one nerve cell to another. Low dopamine levels cause abnormal brain activity, which results in impaired movement. This is why tremors are usually the first symptom of Parkinson’s disease.
Other early symptoms of this disease include:
Changes in handwriting
Loss of smell
Trouble sleeping
Stiffness in arms or legs
Constipation
Soft or hoarse voice
Dizziness
Hunched over posture
Just because someone has one of these symptoms doesn’t automatically mean they have Parkinson’s disease. However, if someone has more than one of these symptoms, they may want to see their doctor. When the disease progresses, it can cause dementia, depression, and limited mobility.
Parkinson’s Disease is a progressive condition for which there is no cure. However, there are treatment options that can help to manage the symptoms. Medication is often prescribed to help treat certain symptoms of this disease. Some patients might also undergo a surgical procedure called deep brain stimulation (DBS). During this procedure, electrodes are implanted into the brain. These electrodes send electrical impulses to the brain which can help reduce symptoms.

INTERNATIONAL ASMR DAY – April 9
INTERNATIONAL ASMR DAY – April 9/ASMR DAY/INTERNATIONAL ASMR DAY 2023/importance of ASMR DAY
INTERNATIONAL ASMR DAY
Every year on April 9th, International ASMR Day spreads awareness for a perceptual phenomenon called Autonomous Sensory Meridian Response. It’s also a day to focus on the various sounds and images that cause this tingling sensation in humans.
Have you ever had a tingling sensation that begins in your head, moves down your spine, and spreads through the rest of your body? If so, you have had an Autonomous Sensory Meridian Response (ASMR). This sensation isn’t a weird or scary feeling. Instead, many people who have had an ASMR find it to be a good and relaxing feeling.
According to psychologists, this feeling is most often triggered in socially intimate settings. Repetitive movements or sounds are what often cause pleasurable feelings. Examples of these triggers include watching someone brush their hair or listening to whispers. Online communities first started reporting ASMR episodes in 2010. It’s not known exactly how many people experience ASMR. According to one study, anywhere from 20 to 70 percent of the population experiences ASMR. Those who don’t ever feel this sensation have a hard time believing it’s real.
People who have had episodes of ASMR find the sensation relaxing. Because of this, many companies have made ASMR videos that target this particular audience. These videos include people slowly folding towels and sorting baseball cards. Other videos are role-playing situations in which the host simulates the act of giving the viewer a haircut or beauty treatment. Those who experience ASMR also embrace certain artists, such as Billie Eilish, who often sings in a soft, whispery voice. Promoters of ASMR say videos that contain these elements can help people destress and sleep better.

INTERNATIONAL BEAVER DAY – April 7
INTERNATIONAL BEAVER DAY – April 7 / Wise & Inspirational Quotes on Beaver / Funny Quotes on Beaver
INTERNATIONAL BEAVER DAY
On April 7, you can gnaw on International Beaver Day. You would if you want to mark the day. April 7 honors the Beaver Woman, Dorothy Richards on her birthday. Dorothy Richards studied beavers at Beaver Sprite Sanctuary in New York’s Adirondack Mountains for fifty years.
Wildlife historians estimate that in the early 1800s in North America, there were as many as 60 million beavers. Their fur and their musk became valuable commodities, so they were trapped to near extinction. Now there are an estimated 6 million beavers in North America.
The Catholic Church once categorized beavers as fish.
The beaver is the official symbol of Canada.
Beaver pairs are monogamous, staying together for multiple breeding seasons.
North American beavers prefer the (inner) bark of aspen and poplar but will also take birch, maple, willow, alder, black cherry, red oak, beech, ash, hornbeam, and occasionally pine and spruce.
Beaver dams are created as a protection against predators, such as coyotes, wolves, and bears, and to provide easy access to food during winter.
Beavers always work at night and are prolific builders, carrying mud and stones with their fore-paws and timber between their teeth.
HOW TO OBSERVE
Read about beavers on Wikipedia
Read Beaver Sprite: My Years Building an Animal Sanctuary by Dorothy Richards.
Take a hike to a beaver pond.

INTERNATIONAL DAY FOR LANDMINE AWARENESS – April 4
INTERNATIONAL DAY FOR LANDMINE AWARENESS
Every year on April 4th, International Day for Mine Awareness and Assistance in Mine Action seeks to raise awareness about landmines and the dangers they pose. It’s also a day to discuss the importance of eradicating landmines.
Every year many lives are lost due to hidden underground dangers. These hidden dangers are called landmines. Though these landmines were buried decades ago, they continue to cause death and destruction. According to statistics from UNICEF, landmines kill or injure up to 20,000 people a year. One out of five landmine victims are children.
Thankfully, many countries recognize the danger of landmines. They have worked hard to eradicate them. Clearing landmines, however, takes a long time. One of the reasons eradicating landmines has taken so long is the expense. In just one year, the cost of clearing landmines reached over $680 million. Another reason it takes so long to clear landmines is the sheer number of them. Throughout the world, 58 countries still have landmines. In Vietnam alone, there are 3 million landmines hidden underground.
