INTERNATIONAL DAY OF SOLIDARITY WITH THE PALESTINIAN PEOPLE
INTERNATIONAL DAY OF SOLIDARITY WITH THE PALESTINIAN PEOPLE
Every year, November 29th marks the International Day of Solidarity with the Palestinian People. It’s a day to remember that the Palestinian people have not yet attained certain inalienable rights, including national independence and sovereignty.
More than 8 million Palestinian people live in the Palestinian territory occupied by Israel. This territory has been occupied since the six-day war in 1967, when Israel defeated Egypt, Syria, and Jordan. The occupied territory consists of East Jerusalem in Israel, neighboring Arab states, and refugee camps. More familiar terms for these areas include the West Bank, the Gaza Strip, and the Golan Heights. This occupation is the longest in modern history.
HOW TO OBSERVE #SolidarityWithPalestinianPeople
Government officials, educators, and civil society organizations hold a variety of events demonstrating solidarity with the Palestinians on this day. These include the issuance of special messages, meetings, dissemination of publications, and film screenings. A special meeting is held each year at the United Nations Headquarters in New York. The United Nations offices in Geneva and Vienna host meetings on this day.
To participate:
Learn about the history between Israel and the Palestinian people
Sign a petition to end the occupation of Palestine.
Donate to a charity that is helping children in Palestine.
Watch movies about the six-day war including In Our Hands: The Battle for Jerusalem, Six Days in June, and Azimuth.
When spreading the word about this day on social media, use #SolidarityWithPalestinianPeople.
HISTORY
On November 29, 1947, the UN General Assembly adopted Resolution 181 (II). This resolution became known as the Partition Resolution. It called for the establishment of a Jewish State and an Arab State in Palestine. The partition plan was never fully implemented and civil war broke out shortly after the adoption of the resolution. Following that, Israel became a country in 1948. An Arab state was never formed.
In 1977, the United Nations General Assembly called for an annual observance of the resolution on the partition of Palestine. The International Day of Solidarity with the Palestinian People serves as a reminder that the question regarding the Palestinian people and Palestine has yet to be resolved.

November 28th, Red Planet Day
RED PLANET DAY
Every year on November 28th, Red Planet Day commemorates the launch of Spacecraft Mariner 4. It’s also a day to learn more about Mars, which is referred to as the red planet.
After 3 previous attempts, Spacecraft Mariner 4 became the first successful flyby of Mars. The spacecraft was launched on November 28, 1964, and reached Mars on July 14, 1965. The successful mission produced 22 pictures of the Martian surface. These pictures were the first-ever close-up photos to come from deep space. This mission, along with several others that occurred afterward, has helped us learn much about the red planet.
Here are some more interesting facts about this planet:
It’s the iron oxide on the planet’s surface that makes it red
Mars is half the size of Earth but it’s still the fourth largest planet.
The minimum distance from Earth to Mars is about 33.9 million miles.
It’s the fourth planet from the sun.
Deimos and Phobos are the names of the two moons on Mars.
The temperature range is between -191 to 81 degrees F.
The atmosphere is thin and is mostly made up of carbon dioxide.
Mars boasts the highest mountain in our solar system and it’s 3 times the height of Mount Everest.
One year on Mars is 687 Earth days.
In 2018, scientists found evidence of a lake under a polar ice cap on Mars.
One more amazing fact is that due to the difference in gravity, a 100-pound man would only weigh 38 pounds on Mars. It’s no wonder so many people want to go to Mars! In fact, NASA wants to send humans to Mars as early as 2030.

INTERNATIONAL AURA AWARENESS DAY
INTERNATIONAL AURA AWARENESS DAY
https://www.slideshare.net/TahiraIram2/spiritualism-philosophypdf-253144305
International Aura Awareness Day spreads awareness of the human aura on the fourth Saturday in November. The day promotes education about how our physical and mental health affects our auras.
In Latin or Greek, the word aura means breeze or breath. By the 19th century, the word aura began describing a quality or energy emanating from a person or thing. Auras are usually affiliated with the New Age religion.
Some people claim to see auras around other people. They say auras provide insight into a person’s beliefs, thoughts, and personality. They often see these auras in different colors. Each color is believed to have a different meaning.
Red – fearless and passionate
Pink – Deeply sensitive and gentle in nature
Orange – creative and full of emotion
Yellow – Confident and happy with high self-esteem
Tan – Practical and detail-oriented
Green – Natural-born self-healers who are drawn to nature and animals
Blue – Caring, nurturing, and protective
Purple – Charismatic with a powerful personality
White – Spiritually motivated, positive, and uplifting
It is believed that every human being on earth has an energy field, or aura, around them. This is even true of other living things like plants and animals. Certain types of cameras are used to capture auras. They are described as a halo or bubble of light surrounding the human body. It’s not uncommon to have auras with different colors. Auras can change color over time. When auras appear dark or damaged, it could indicate a physical, emotional, or psychological problem. When this happens, things like positive affirmations, meditation, visualization, and energy balancing can help to cleanse the aura and bring healing.
HOW TO OBSERVE #InternationalAuraAwarenessDay
Many aura readers and spiritual healers hold a variety of events on this day. They do teachings on auras and also aura readings. Others host workshops that help people realize the connection between their minds, body, and spirit.
To participate:
Learn to read your own aura or other people’s auras
Find a seminar or workshop in your area teaching about auras
Learn how your physical body is connecting to your spiritual and emotional bodies
Read about the different colors of auras and what they mean
Spread awareness by sharing #InternationalAuraAwarenessDay on social media.

INTERNATIONAL DAY FOR THE ELIMINATION OF VIOLENCE AGAINST WOMEN
INTERNATIONAL DAY FOR THE ELIMINATION OF VIOLENCE AGAINST WOMEN
On November 25th International Day for the Elimination of Violence Against Women raises awareness regarding an ongoing human rights issue. Today, many women around the world are still subject to rape and other types of violence.
Through the years, government officials and international leaders have led the charge to curb violence against women and girls. Unfortunately, however, it is still all too common. Violence against women continues to be a widespread and persistent human rights violation.
One in three women worldwide experiences physical or sexual violence — mostly by an intimate partner.
Globally, 35% of women and girls will experience some form of physical and/or sexual violence. In some countries, the statistics are closer to 70%.
Nearly half of all human trafficking victims around the world are women.
650 million women and girls in the world are forced to marry before the age of 18.
200 million women and girls have undergone female genital mutilation in 30 countries.
About 15 million girls between 15 and 19 experience being forced to have sex at one point in their lives.
Many women and girls who experience violent acts against them do not seek help. Even though 144 countries have laws pertaining to domestic violence, they are not always enforced. Along with creating awareness, this day seeks to remove the silence, stigma, and shame surrounding these acts of violence against women.
HOW TO OBSERVE #OrangeTheWorld
Each year on this day, communities around the world hold marches to spread awareness and show support for women. Some of the cities organizing these marches include Bogota, Paris, San Jose, and Lima. With over 150,000 participants, Rome has one of the largest marches.

To Participate:
Organize a march in your community
Reach out to women who have experienced violence against them
Donate to an organization that supports sexual assault survivors
Take a firm stand against the rape culture
Take part in the UNiTE campaign to end violence against women by wearing orange to symbolize a brighter future for women.
Share the day on social media with #OrangeTheWorld
HISTORY
Since 1981, women right’s activists have observed a day against gender-based violence. They chose November 25th in honor of the three Mirabal sisters. The sisters were political activists in the Dominican Republic who opposed the dictatorship of Rafael Trujillo. They were brutally murdered on November 25th, 1960. On December 20, 1993, the United Nations General Assembly adopted the Declaration on the Elimination of Violence against Women. Their goal was to eradicate violence against women and girls on a global scale. On February 7, 2000, the UN officially designated November 25th as the International Day for the Elimination of Violence Against Women. This day kicks off 16 days of activism, which ends on December 10th, Human Rights Day.

November 23rd, Fibonacci Day
FIBONACCI DAY
Every November 23rd, Fibonacci Day honors Leonardo Bonacci, one of the most influential mathematicians of the Middle Ages. The date corresponds to the first numbers of the Fibonacci sequence – 1 1 2 3.
Fibonacci is an Italian mathematician who is also known as Leonardo of Pisa and Leonardo Fibonacci. Some say Fibonacci invented the Fibonacci sequence. This pattern of counting means that each number is the sum of the previous two. (0,1,1,2,3,5,8,13, etc.) Computer data storage and processing use this number sequence today. The sequence is also useful in the trading of stocks and architecture. Another unexpected place we find the sequence is in nature. DNA patterns and hurricanes contain patterns showing this sequence. Math and science classes refer to the Fibonacci sequence as “nature’s secret code” or “nature’s universal rule.” Additionally, the number sequence is tied to the golden ratio and the golden triangle.
The Fibonacci numbers were published in his book, Liber Abaci in the year 1202. Fibonacci’s book introduced the Western World to the Hindu-Arabic numeral system we use today. This numeral system writes numbers as 1,2,3, etc. instead of Roman numerals I, II, III, etc.
Fibonacci was born in 1170. As a young boy, he traveled with his father, an Italian merchant named Guglielmo. During his travels, he learned about the Hindu-Arabic numeral system. As he traveled around the Mediterranean Coast, Fibonacci met with merchants and learned their arithmetic systems. In the 19th century, the city of Pisa erected a statue of Fibonacci. Today it stands in the western gallery of the Camposanto.

WORLD CHILDREN’S DAY November 20th
WORLD CHILDREN’S DAY November 20th
WORLD CHILDREN’S DAY
Each year on November 20th, World Children’s Day promotes the welfare of children around the world. The day also spreads awareness for issues that children face and celebrates international togetherness.
Human rights don’t just apply to adults. They apply to children as well. Children deserve the right to life, health, education, and even the right to play. Additionally, children’s rights include the right to family life, protection from violence, and not to be discriminated against. The child also has the right to their views to be heard.
Unfortunately, children around the world face many challenging issues. According to Children Incorporated, 385 million children around the world live in poverty. One in four children lives in poverty in the world’s richest countries. An estimated 8,500 children a day die from malnutrition.
Besides poverty, other significant issues children around the world face include:
Violence through indoctrination
Life as refugees
Lack of education
Neglect
Child labor
Child prostitution and human trafficking
Internet child pornography
Children have a difficult world in which to navigate. It helps to have loving parents or other family members to help them guide the way. Unfortunately, there are millions of children who do not have someone like this in their life. According to UNICEF, 153 million children across the globe are orphans.
What can be done to give children hope? To help their world become a better place? Having World Children’s Day helps as it spreads awareness of the many issues facing children. It also forces leaders to come up with solutions to help some of our world’s most vulnerable individuals.
HOW TO OBSERVE #WorldChildrensDay
Many people come together to celebrate this day. This includes teachers, healthcare professionals, government leaders, civil society activists, mothers, fathers, media professionals, and religious leaders. These people play an important role to make this day relevant to their communities and countries. Children also celebrate the day by taking over roles in media, politics, and entertainment to highlight issues important to them. Many landmark buildings light up blue to show their support for child rights.
To participate:
Pay off some lunch accounts for children in your local school
Do something fun with your children like taking them to the zoo or a movie
Ask your children what issues are important to them
Donate to an organization, such as UNICEF, that helps children in need
Find a way for your child to forge a pen pal partnership
Volunteer for the nursery or youth ministry in your church
Help a child in need in any way you can
Wear blue to show support for child rights
No matter what you do, share on social media to help spread awareness with #WorldChildrensDay
WORLD CHILDREN’S DAY HISTORY
