Blog post of review: https://tinytimblog.blogspot.com/2023/09/el-rey-del-mundo-shade-grown-robusto-55.html
(Description provided by Forged Cigsr Co.)
El Rey del Mundo has released a new expression called “Shade Grown” in July. The line launches with two full-time sizes and one limited edition vitola.
Handcrafted at HATSA in Honduras, El Rey del Mundo Shade Grown is a Honduran puro that features a mellow Honduran-grown Connecticut Shade wrapper, a first for the brand. The wrapper imparts layers of complexity derived from the Honduran Talanga Valley soil. When met with a Honduran Jamastran binder and masterfully blended with hand-selected Honduran filler from Copan and Jamastran, the tobaccos create an indulgent, silky-smooth smoke that begins with roasted nuttiness, transitions to earthiness and cream and builds to incorporate hints of spice.
Cory Beardsley, assistant brand manager for El Rey del Mundo said, “El Rey del Mundo continues to grow by popular demand. With Shade Grown we are expanding the brand’s range with an everyday smoke that delivers on its promise of complexity. This is a satisfying, anytime smoke and we’re looking forward to sharing it with premium cigar enthusiasts across the country.”
The cigars will be distributed by Forged Cigar Company, will ship on July 1 and are packed in 20-count wooden boxes. A special Lonsdale size will be available for the launch, and only 500 boxes of this frontmark are being released.
Available vitolas:
El Rey del Mundo Shade Grown Robusto (5.5 x 50); SRP per cigar $5.99 REVIEWED TODAY

Blog post of review: https://tinytimblog.blogspot.com/2023/09/perla-del-mar-corojo-double-toro-6-x-60.html
(Description provided by JC Newman)
Perla del Mar is a historic cigar brand that traces its roots to Cuba. In 1905, four Cuban brothers started hand rolling cigars using tobacco grown on their family’s farm in Cuba. They named their company Perfecto Garcia Brothers and called their cigars “Perla del Mar” because of the beautiful Caribbean waters that surround Cuba. As the popularity and demand for their cigars grew, the brothers built a large cigar factory next to J.C. Newman’s El Reloj factory in Ybor City, Florida. Perla del Mar was one of the leading premium cigar brands in the early 1900s. J.C. Newman’s new Perla del Mar cigars honor the brand’s historic legacy.
Perla del Mar features special, hand-selected, aged binder and long filler tobaccos from four distinct regions in the lush mountains of Nicaragua: Pueblo Nuevo, La Reina, Condega, and Jalapa. This unique blend is combined with a smooth, creamy Ecuadorian Shade (Shade), Connecticut Broadleaf (Maduro), or robust Ecuadorian Corojo wrapper (Corojo) to provide a complex, but balanced, taste.
Lastly, Perla del Mar cigars feature a Tampa-style press to help the natural flavors of its unique tobaccos to marry together and deliver an extremely satisfying smoke.

Blog post of review: https://tinytimblog.blogspot.com/2023/09/rosewood-1923-6-x-48-corona.html
(Description taken from Halfwheel.com website)
Black Star Line Cigars is turning to Fábrica Oveja Negra for its newest line, which honors the 100th anniversary of the Rosewood massacre.
The Rosewood 1923 is a new line that will debut in a 6 x 48 corona size. It uses a Mexican San Andrés wrapper over an Ecuadorian binder and fillers from the Dominican Republic Nicaragua. The MSRP is set at $13.50 and it’s a regular production item that will be offered in boxes and bundles of 20 cigars.
“I have always wanted to work with Oveja Negra. I am a huge fan of their cigars and actually James (Brown) was one of the first people I reached out to when I was looking to enter the cigar industry,” said Aric Bey, owner of Black Star Line Cigars, in a press release. “I ended up gaining JB’s respect through my hardwork and persistence with what I have done thus far with AGANORSA Leaf.”
As for the name, it references the Rosewood massacre, which killed between 7-27 people and destroyed the entire town with the exception of a lone general store. Rosewood was destroyed as part of racially motivated killings. Following a lynching, Black residents of Rosewood began defending themselves against attacks. In response to their defenses, white mobs came to the town and razed the town, which had an independent Black community. Following the massacre, the town was abandoned.
“I love the name because it not only pays homage to the 100-year anniversary of the massacre but also pays homage to my fraternity brother John Singleton who made a movie about Rosewood in the early 90s. I am a member of ‘Greater’ Beta chapter of Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity Inc., and Singleton passed away a few years ago.”

Blog post of review: https://tinytimblog.blogspot.com/2023/09/diesel-vintage-series-robusto-gordo-5-x.html
(Description provided by Forged Cigar Co.)
Diesel Vintage Series is a new, full-time line created to give cigar smokers the luxury of premium, aged tobaccos at an accessible price. The five-cigar, Maduro-wrapped collection shipped on July 1.
Handcrafted at Tabacalera AJ Fernandez in Estelí, Nicaragua and developed in collaboration between AJ Fernandez and STG’s Justin Andrews, Diesel Vintage Series is a powerhouse Nicaraguan-forward smoke with deeply-aged filler tobaccos.
Justin Andrews said, “With Vintage Series, we’ve responded to feedback from our valued retailers across the country who told us they wanted to give their customers the true experience of vintage tobacco in a well-crafted, premium smoke. The catch was that it had to be at just the right price point. I’m proud to say that AJ Fernandez and I have delivered a cigar that fires on all cylinders: quality, construction, complexity and price.”
Made with a Mexican San Andreas Négro wrapper, a Nicaraguan binder from Esteli and a range of Nicaraguan Jalapa filler tobaccos ranging in age from five to eight years, the cigar balances spicy Nicaraguan notes with a hints of sweetness and leather.

Blog post of review: https://tinytimblog.blogspot.com/2023/09/aladino-limited-edition-6-x-52-toro.html
(Description taken from Cigar-coop.com website)
When it comes to the JRE Tobacco Co portfolio, the focus has mostly been on regular production releases. While Aladino Corojo Reserva No. 4 is a periodic limited-production cigar, there hasn’t been a “one and done” JRE release. That changed at the 2023 Premium Cigar Association (PCA) Trade Show, where JRE Tobacco Co. unveiled what it says is its one-and-done limited edition – the Aladino Limited Edition.
This project started several years ago when company patriarch Julio R Eiroa celebrated his 80th birthday and the company was looking to release a cigar around that. Now 85 years young, there still hasn’t been a commemorative milestone cigar, but the Aladino Limited Edition is an offshoot of that project. This cigar features a Cameroon wrapper that was grown on the JRE Tobacco farm. The remainder of the blend is Honduran tobaccos that also come from the farm. The Aladino Limited Edition will come in one size – a 6 x 52 Toro. It will come in 20-count boxes with a total production limited to 600 boxes.
Pricing is set at $16.00 per cigar.

Blog post of review: https://tinytimblog.blogspot.com/2023/08/partagas-de-bronce-corona-gorda-625-x-46.html
(Description provided by Forged Cigar Co.)
Partagas released its first collaboration in April with Partagas de Bronce, an exceptional cigar handcrafted in Miami by the Cuban expatriate rollers of the famed El Titán de Bronze Cigar Factory.
The cigar’s name calls upon the Spanish spelling of “bronce” in tribute to the origins of Partagas and El Titan de Bronze.
Partagas de Bronce was blended by STG’s Justin Andrews, with Sandy Cobas and the blending team at El Titán de Bronze. Made with a Corojo wrapper, Partagas de Bronce is a medium- bodied Nicaraguan puro that brims with nuances. Cocoa, earth, wood, hints of citrus and an intriguing creaminess deliver a cigar that highlights the heritage of Partagas with the artistry of El Titán de Bronze.
John Hakim, brand manager of Partagas said, “For a venerable brand like Partagas, collaborating with a legend like Sandy Cobas and creating a special, limited edition cigar at her family-owned factory marks an important step in Partagas’ evolution. Partagas de Bronce highlights Partagas’ devotion to old-world cigarmaking techniques, and its commitment to marching the brand forward through innovation. We look forward to sharing this exceptional blend with cigar lovers across the country.”
Partagas de Bronce will be released in April, when 5,000 boxes, each signed by the El Titán de Bronze cigarmaker who crafted them, will ship to retailers. Each box contains ten cigars.

Blog post of review: https://tinytimblog.blogspot.com/2023/08/partagas-valle-verde-toro-6-x52.html
(Description provided by Forged Cigar Co.)
Partagas Valle Verde, a new, full-time collection debuts as the first Partagas blend to be crowned with a Mexican San Andrés leaf.
John Hakim, brand manager of Partagas said, “Partagas Valle Verde builds on the Partagas tradition of rich, refined blends and calls upon its rich Mexican wrapper to deliver a unique smoking experience to the brand portfolio. It is the ideal choice for cigar enthusiasts who are drawn to well-aged tobaccos.”
The line was named after a lush agricultural region called the “Green Valley” where the brand’s wrapper tobacco was grown. Bordering the Gulf of Mexico, the valley has a comparatively cool climate, a prolonged rainy season and a nutrient-rich volcanic soil. There, the region’s growers yield a pristine, light brown wrapper tobacco that is rich and layered.
The intricacy of Partagas Valle Verde comes from the well-aged tobaccos that comprise its blend. Harvested in 2020, the three-year-old-wrapper tobacco opens the smoking experience with a wave of earthiness, offering hints of sweetness and cocoa. True to the blend legacy of Partagas, Valle Verde is made with a sungrown Cameroon binder, harvested for this blend from 2015. The filler features Mexican San Andrés, Nicaraguan Jalapa and Esteli tobaccos from 2020. The result is a fascinating smoke that balances rich, sweet notes with an intriguing spice.
Partagas Valle Verde will launch with three full-time sizes that are packed in 20-count boxes, and a limited edition, box-pressed Belicoso that comes in a ten-count box. The line is handcrafted in Honduras at HATSA and will be distributed by Forged Cigar Company.

Blog post of review: https://tinytimblog.blogspot.com/2023/08/viaje-exclusivo-leaded-double-edged.html
(Description taken from Halfwheel.com website)
Viaje has announced that its Exclusivo and Exclusivo Leaded lines will be returning to store shelves later this month, and one of the two sizes will be the sought-after Double Edged Sword, a 5 x 52 perfecto.
Both blends are Nicaraguan puros, though the Exclusivo Leaded uses medio tiempo in its blend, which results in a stronger, fuller flavor, according to the company. The cigars are produced by Raíces Cubanas in Danlí, Honduras.
The two blends will also be released in a 6 x 5o toro. All of the cigars have received an extra six months of aging in their boxes prior to the release, the company wrote in social media posts.
Pricing and production numbers have not yet been disclosed, with a company representative declining to provide them to halfwheel. Previous releases have come in boxes of 25 cigars.

(Description provided by Black Works Studio and taken from Halfwheel.com website)
Black Works Studio has released the new Rorschach Sumatra. The original Rorschach is definitely a big cigar in a small package. The new Sumatran version is a lighter profile highlighting Jalapa tobacco. Layers of soft cedar, cinnamon and mild pepper create a complex profile with a long creamy finish,” says James Brown, creator of BLTC/BLK WKS and partner at Fabrica Oveja Negra.
The original Rorschach blend that debuted in December 2015.
As the name suggests, it uses a Sumatra wrapper, also grown in Indonesia, while the binder is a Nicaraguan habano leaf and the filler comes from Nicaragua. It is being offered in a short robusto vitola that measures 4 1/2 x 48 priced at $7 per cigar and is offered in 50-count boxes.

(Description taken from Halfwheel.com website)
The newest Fosforo blend will be one that comes from a different factory than the rest of the brand’s cigars to date.
At the 2023 PCA Convention & Trade Show, Fosforo released the Fosforo Limitada, a 5 1/2 x 54 robusto extra. Blend-wise, it uses a Mexican San Andrés wrapper over a Nicaraguan binder and fillers from Nicaragua. Unlike the rest of the cigars in the Fosforo portfolio, which have been made by Garmendia Cigars Co., this release was rolled at Tabacalera Segovias de Estelí.
Perhaps most notably, the company says these cigars were rolled more than 18 months ago.
The MSRP is set at $9.95 per cigar and production is limited to 750 bundles of 20 cigars

Blog post of review: https://tinytimblog.blogspot.com/2023/08/las-calaveras-edicion-limitada-2023.html
(Description taken from Halfwheel.com website)
For the 10th release of its Las Calaveras series, Crowned Heads is going back to broadleaf.
The Nashville-based company has announced Las Calaveras Edición Limitada 2023, the next release in its annual, limited edition Las Calaveras Series. Like all Las Calaveras before it, this year’s release will be made at My Father Cigars S.A. For only the second time in the series—the other was 2016—the blend will use a Connecticut broadleaf wrapper over a blend of Nicaraguan tobaccos.
Since 2016, Crowned Heads released four vitolas of Las Calaveras each year: three are sold in 24-count boxes, while a fourth size is only offered in a four-cigar sampler that contains one of each vitola. That trend will continue this year.
Las Calaveras Edición Limitada 2023 LC50 (5 x 50) — $12.95 (Box of 24, $310.80) — 1,500 Boxes of 24 Cigars + 3,000 Samplers of 1 Cigar (39,000 Total Cigars)
Las Calaveras Edición Limitada 2023 LC52 (6 x 52) — $13.95 (Box of 24, $334.80) — 1,500 Boxes of 24 Cigars + 3,000 Samplers of 1 Cigar (39,000 Total Cigars) REVIEWED TODAY
Las Calaveras Edición Limitada 2023 LC54 (5 5/8 x 54) — $14.95 (Box of 24, $358.80) — 1,500 Boxes of 24 Cigars + 3,000 Samplers of 1 Cigar (39,000 Total Cigars)
Las Calaveras Edición Limitada 2023 Belicoso Fino (5 1/2 x 52) — 3,000 Samplers of 1 Cigar (3,000 Total Cigars)
The sampler has an MSRP of $54.95.
“We’re bringing the Broadleaf back for ’23,”said Jon Huber, co-founder of Crowned Heads, in a press release.. “I’ve held My Father Cigars and the Garcia family in such high regard, especially when it came to their use of Connecticut Broadleaf wrapper and the resultant blend expressions. The 2023 Las Calaveras blend has so much going on in terms of what you’d expect from a My Father Broadleaf blend, everything from pepper to chocolate to earth, all impeccably and consistently balanced. We’re also featuring a first in the 2023 Las Calaveras Sampler, as this will be the first time we’ve featured a Belcoso Fino as the Sampler exclusive vitola, and the first time we’ve produced that vitola with My Father Cigars.”
Las Calaveras is an annual limited edition for the company that pays tribute to those close to the company’s personnel who have lost their lives. Each year has been a different blend, offered in either three or four sizes. The name comes from La Calavera Catrina, a zinc etching by José Guadalupe Posada. This year’s release is dedicated to four people who have passed, each of whom is identified by their initials included on the band.

Blog post of review: https://tinytimblog.blogspot.com/2023/08/villiger-miami-2023-5-78-x-53-canonazo.html
(Description taken from Cigar-coop.com and Halfwheel.com websites)
It’s called Villiger Miami 2022 and no; it’s not made in Miami.
“We named the cigars Villiger Miami 2022 because, since the beginning of 2021, it has been the cigar we give to our friends, customers and colleagues when they visit our Miami office,” said Rene Castaneda, president of Villiger Cigars North America.
While it’s not made in Miami, the Villiger Miami pays homage to Villiger North America’s Headquarters in Miami, Florida. When it was released in 2022, it was said to be a private blend that was given to guests at the factory. The Villiger Miami 2023 is being made at the ABAM factory in the Dominican Republic.
According to Villiger, the Villiger Miami 2023 blend consists of an Ecuadorian Habano wrapper over an undisclosed binder and fillers. The 2023 blend is being released in one size -a 5 7/8 x 53 Cañonazo. The cigars are presented in ten-count boxes. Pricing is set at $17.00 per cigar.

(Description taken from Halfwheel.com website)
Warped Cigars has released a new cigar line called Sky Moon that combines elements of the company’s Sky Flower and Moon Garden lines.
The company announced the new cigar via Cigar Aficionado, which reports that the cigar is a Nicaraguan puro offered in a 5 1/2 x 42 corona vitola but with a 109-style rounded head. The blend reportedly uses a shade-grown corojo 99 wrapper from Jalapa, and a filler containing corojo 99, criollo 98 and medio tiempo, with the latter coming from Jalapa. All of the tobacco reportedly comes from AGANORSA, who is said to be making the cigar at its factory in Estelí.
Priced at $11 per cigar, with 500 boxes of 50 cigars produced.

(Description taken from Halfwheel.com website)
Viaje has announced that it will have a quartet of cigars arriving on store shelves in the coming weeks as it prepares to celebrate the 4th of July holiday.
Headlining the group is a new cigar called Flashing Thunder, a 6 1/2 x 52 toro extra that uses an Ecuadorian habano wrapper atop a Nicaraguan binder and filler. While a Flashing Thunder is a type of Roman Candle firework that packs a notably loud bang, it is not related blend-wise to a cigar by that name that’s also getting a new version this year.

Blog post of review: https://tinytimblog.blogspot.com/2023/07/dapper-holysmoke-genesis-6-12-x-52-box.html
(Description taken from Halfwheel.com website)
This is a project done in collaboration with the HolySmoke Bible Club out of Fresno, California. HolySmoke Genesis is a cigar that is shipping nationwide to U.S. retailers.
According to Ian Reith of Dapper Cigar Company, this is a project that has been in the works for nearly three years. Reith said at first he was hesitant to take on the project for HolySmoke, but after seeing their cause and commitment to not cutting any corners in any aspect of production, he realized it was impossible to turn the project down.
HolySmoke Genesis comes in one size – a 6 1/2 x 52 box-pressed figurado. This is the first time Dapper has released a cigar in that format. Blend-wise, the cigar consists of a Mexican San Andres wrapper over Nicaraguan binder and fillers. The cigars are presented in 12-count boxes.

Blog post of review: https://tinytimblog.blogspot.com/2023/07/warped-bits-of-havana-seleccion-de.html
(Description taken from Halfwheel.com website)
The cigar is a 6 x 52 box-pressed toro that uses a Mexican San Andrés wrapper, a Nicaraguan binder and Nicaraguan fillers grown by AGANORSA Leaf. It is produced by AGANORSA at its Agricola Ganadera Norteña S.A. factory in Estelí, Nicaragua, with production limited to 500 boxes of 25 cigars. Kyle Gells, Warped’s owner, did not respond to an e-mail seeking details about the price, but retailers have begun listing the cigar for $12.50 and $312.50 per box.
The Bits of Havana line has previously been available through DROP, Warped’s direct-to-consumer online channel, and has included a red-banded version that is a Nicaraguan puro.

Blog post of review: https://tinytimblog.blogspot.com/2023/07/viaje-birthday-blend-2023-6-x-52-torpedo.html
(Description taken from Halfwheel.com website)
The Viaje Birthday Blend celebrates company founder Andre Farkas’s birthday on June 6. The Viaje Birthday Blend debuted in 2016 as part of the company’s White Label Project (WLP), though it quickly moved to its own line with dedicated branding the following year.
It has an undisclosed blend, but the 2019 version used a Nicaraguan criollo 98 wrapper over a Nicaraguan binder and Nicaraguan fillers. It’s a blend that has evolved over time, having started with a Mexican San Andrés wrapper before moving to the Nicaraguan leaf in 2017. While Viaje isn’t disclosing blend details, it has confirmed that it is returns in a 6 x 52 torpedo vitola—a shape selected to evoke thoughts of a candle.
Based on an internet search this is the blend:
Wrapper Nicaraguan Criollo
Binder / Filler Nicaragua / Nicaragua
This year’s edition comes in a 45-count box, adding with “one for good luck” and noting that the extra stick “is clad in gold and features a San Andres Maduro wrapper.”
I have reviewed several years of the Birthday Blend.

Bongani 658

Blog post of review: https://tinytimblog.blogspot.com/2023/07/bongani-658-6-x-58.html
(Description provided by Bongani Cigars)
Bongani Cigars, the first African cigar brand, now has two new sizes. The original Bongani robusto, which I reviewed, is now available in Bongani 458, a 4 x 58 size, and Bongani 658, a 6 x 58 size.
Bongani says the blend is slightly different from the original robusto.
The Bongani story:
Bongani means “Be Grateful”. Be grateful for life, family and friends. Be grateful for Africa, our people and Africa’s resources.
We brought a team of cigar rollers from the Dominican Republic to train our team of Mozambican cigar rollers to the same level of expertise as in the D.R.
The first team of accomplished cigar rollers graduated in 2017 and we are now training a second generation.
Our wrapper comes from Cameroon; it is one of the best cigar wrappers in the world.
We grow our tobacco in Manica Province in Mozambique and soon in Nigeria and also use some of the best tobacco from around the world.
Our cigars are aged in cedar from Ghana. This gives them a unique and rich flavor as Ghanaian cedar is very richly and heavily scented.
Today we look at the Bongani 658.

Blog post of review: https://tinytimblog.blogspot.com/2023/07/ep-carrillo-pledge-firecracker-3-12-x-50.html
(Description provided by United Cigars)
In 2007, the Firecracker line was born. The first cigar on the market with a long piece of tobacco at the head shaped like a ‘wick’ or ‘fuse’ to capture its name; Firecracker. After a few years on the market, the limited release Firecrackers came to life as United Cigars collaborated with a new manufacturer every year to create a celebration cigar for our nation’s Independence Day. This year, United Cigars has partnered with E.P. Carrillo to create the Pledge Firecracker.
Awarded the #1 Cigar of the Year by Cigar Aficionado in 2020, the E.P. Carrillo Pledge is described as a zesty, spicy, woody cigar that tantalizes the consumers palate. A cigar that has a lasting creamy finish with a rich aromatic profile. Firecracker fans are in for a truly powerful smoking experience.
“Our Pledge is a fantastic blend for the United Firecracker collaboration,” said Ernesto Perez-Carrillo of E.P. Carrillo. “We have seen the United Firecracker and their limited releases grow in the marketplace so when we first discussed the project, we all knew it would perfect.”
