NEW 2024 ŠKODA SUPERB TEASER #car_2024 #skoda #superb #new_car
NEW 2024 ŠKODA SUPERB TEASER #car_2024 #skoda #superb #new_car
The wraps have come off the fourth-generation Skoda Superb, and as the teaser pictures promised, it may be wearing a conservative set of clothes, but this is an all-new car with a massively updated interior, now underpinned by VWG’s MQB Evo platform and built alongside the new Passat.
The Superb Mk4 might look same-again, but it’s much sleeker and more ‘premium’ in the metal. Both models get second-generation LED Matrix beam headlights, which flank the sharper-looking front end and octagonal Skoda grille. Aerodynamics have taken a step forward with an impressive Cd of 0.23 for the hatch and 0.25 for the estate – a reduction of 10-15%.
Moderate increases in length and height have further improved the overall dimensions in the interior. Boot capacity has grown by 20 litres to 645 litres for the hatch and by 30 litres to 690 litres for the estate. This means it remains at the head of the class, for luggage space, while rear legroom remains as impressive as ever.
That doesn’t mean there still isn’t a massive screen in the new generation, however. In fact, the latest Superb features a 12.9-inch central touchscreen as standard, likely running a new-generation infotainment system set to be rolled out across many brands within the VW Group.
Beneath that, though, is a set of three physical dials and a couple of additional physical buttons. Skoda says the dials in the middle can be customised to allow quick access to the controls you use most using small screens inside them. The good news is that the quality seems. tohave taken a distinct step forward, with some very tactile materials used, as well as tasteful use of colour.
Elsewhere, Skoda says it’s used olive tanning in its latest leathers, which is more environmentally friendly than regular tanning – and a technique Bentley also uses with its Bentayga EWB Mulliner model. And, in order to provide more space in the centre console, Skoda has moved the shifter onto the steering column, much like VW’s ID models.
The interior trim packages follows a similar structure to the Enyaq, offering seven ‘Design Selections’ The Studio Design Selection with black and grey fabrics is included with the basic Essence trim level.
koda has fiddled with the Superb’s dimensions. Now, we’re not convinced that the Superb needed to get any larger – the current car is already an absolute unit – but the next model will be 43mm longer and 12mm taller than before.
Skoda says the changes liberate an extra 11mm of headroom in the front, 6mm of headroom in the rear and 20 litres of boot space, taking the hatchback’s seats-up capacity to a whopping 645 litres. However, legroom is comparable to the current car, as the Superb Mk4’s wheelbase remains unchanged.
Every version of the Superb Mk4 comes as standard with the VW Group’s latest suite of safety features – including an autonomous emergency braking system that can now detect cyclists. There’s also a new Crossroad Assist function that uses radar sensors in the bumper to monitor traffic at blind junctions and issue you a warning if you’re about to drive yourself into an accident.
Skoda has also increased the number of airbags in the Superb. The new car will be available with up to 10. As standard, you’ll get front, side and head airbags, a driver’s knee airbag and a central airbag to prevent the front passenger from headbutting each other in the event of a side impact. Skoda will also offer two side airbags for the rear seats as an optional extra.
The range will open with an all-new 1.5-litre four-cylinder mild hybrid petrol unit – and the petrol engine is from the Volkswagen Group’s latest EA211 Evo 2 family of engines which run on the fuel-efficient Miller cycle (like Toyota’s petrol engines) and feature cylinder deactivation technology. Like the current Superb’s 1.5-litre petrol engine, it’ll have an output of 148bhp.
We found the new Superb PHEV rather interesting, too. Skoda has more than doubled the capacity of its battery pack, increasing it from 12.7 to 25.7kWh. The company says that will allow the car to cover up to 62 miles on electric power alone. It’ll even be compatible with 50kW DC rapid charging, which will trim charge times and allow owners to make the most of its electric range.

NEW MERCEDES GLC COUPE 2024 #car_2024 #mercedes #glc #coupe_2024
NEW MERCEDES GLC COUPE 2024 #car_2024 #mercedes #glc #coupe_2024
A redesigned Mercedes-Benz GLC-Class was revealed last year, and on Tuesday the handsome compact crossover spawned its GLC-Class Coupe variant.
While the GLC-Class arrives this spring as a 2023 model the GLC-Class Coupe won't arrive until later this year as a 2024 model.
Just the one grade has been announced for the GLC-Class Coupe, a GLC 300 4Matic, but spicier GLC 43 Coupe and GLC 63 Coupe models from AMG are in the works and should arrive within the next 12 months.
The new GLC-Class Coupe looks even more dynamic than its predecessor, helped in part by new proportions. With a length of 187.5 inches, it is 1.2 inches longer than the outgoing model. The track width has also been increased by 0.2 inch at the front and 0.9 inch at the rear, and the height increased by 0.2 inch.
The bigger dimensions have increased interior space. For example, there's now 19.2 cubic feet of rear cargo space, increasing to 52.6 cubic feet when the rear seats are folded flat. That's up 1.6 and 3.1 cubic feet, respectively, over the old model.
The dash design is the same found in the GLC-Class. The driver is greeted with a digital cockpit consisting of a 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster and a 11.9-inch infotainment touchscreen. Also standard is a 15-speaker Burmester audio system and a panoramic sunroof that measures 2.4 inches longer than on the predecessor.
Like the GLC-Class, the GLC-Class Coupe's cabin can be fitted with handy technologies, including a head-up display, navigation with augmented reality, a surround-view camera system, and an off-road menu with a drive mode that offers transparent hood technology.
Another impressive available technology is digital light with projection functions. This enables the headlights to project warning symbols and other markings on the road ahead to provide the driver with extra information in low-visibility situations.
The powertrain in the GLC 300 4Matic is a 2.0-liter turbo-4 paired with a mild-hybrid system and all-wheel drive. The engine delivers 255 hp but can receive a temporary 23-hp boost from the mild-hybrid system. Mercedes quotes a 0-60 mph time of 6.2 seconds and a top speed of 130 mph.
Buyers seeking more performance can look forward to a pair of AMG offerings, also with 2.0-liter turbo-4 engines in hybrid configurations. A new GLC 43 Coupe is expected to deliver around 402 hp, while a new GLC 63 S E Performance Coupe should offer 671 hp. The figures match what's offered in AMG's C 43 and C 63 S E Performance sport sedans.
Pricing information for the GLC-Class Coupe will be released closer to the market launch. The regular GLC-Class is priced from $48,250.

NEW HYUNDAI I10 2024 FACELIFT #car_2024 #hyundai #i10 #2024 #new_car #facelift
Now priced from £15,420, up £425 (and a rise of £2925 over its 2020 launch cost), the city car will arrive with a new trim-level structure and an increased amount of standard equipment.
The front end has been redesigned to feature a honeycomb front grille with integrated daytime running lights. The tail-lights have been given a sharper, Y-shape pattern, and the range of 15in and 16in alloy wheels has been refreshed.
The new Advance trim replaces SE Connect as the entry point to the i10 line-up, adding LED daytime running lights, a digital instrument display, keyless entry and rear parking sensors.
It also introduces a variety of driver assistance features, including forward collision assistance, intelligent speed limit assistance and lane-keeping assistance, as required by the European Union's new GSR2 safety regulations.
Those same rules are responsible for the short shelf life of the Toyota GR86, as all cars sold in Europe must be compliant by 2024.
Here are some of the key features of the 2024 Hyundai i10:
1.2-litre three-cylinder engine
Five-speed manual or four-speed automatic transmission
EPA-estimated fuel economy of 29mpg city and 36mpg motorway (manual) or 30mpg city and 39mpg motorway (automatic)
14-inch steel wheels (SE) or 15-inch alloy wheels (Limited)
Halogen headlights (SE) or fog lights (Limited)
Electric sunroof (Limited)
Six-speaker audio system (Limited)
Apple CarPlay and Android Auto
The Hyundai i10 2024 unveiled, along with a sporty i10 N Line derivative. It is "inspired by high-performance N models". Also new for this model are enhanced connectivity and comfort features that are supposed to make the i10 even more competitive.
Hyundai has added more colours to the range, bringing the total to nine. Two-tone roof options are also available. Other notable visual changes include redesigned reflector headlights, new front LED daytime running lights and new 15-inch alloy wheels.
It may be marketed as an entry-level model! but the i10 still retains its semi-autonomous driving aids, but this new model adds more. The forward collision avoidance assistant is now able to detect cyclists and the car! is now equipped with lane keeping assistant.
Physically, the i10 has a boot volume of 252 litres, extendable to 1,050 litres with the rear seats folded down. The Hyundai i10 comes from the brand's Turkiye factory, with European deliveries scheduled for the second half of the year.
Engine of the i10 2024
At this stage, there is no confirmation on the powertrains. It is assumed that they will be carried over from the previous generation. These included naturally aspirated 1.2-litre 4-cylinder petrols. There were also 3-cylinder turbocharged 1.0-litre petrols.

NEW 2024 MAZDA ICONIC SP HYBRID SPORTS CAR #car_2024 #sportscar #iconic #mazda #sp
NEW 2024 MAZDA ICONIC SP HYBRID SPORTS CAR #car_2024 #sportscar #iconic #mazda #sp
Mazda has unveiled the Iconic SP ahead of the Tokyo auto show, providing more details on the streamlined sports car first seen virtually last year as the "Vision Study Model."
The Iconic SP is powered by electric motors, with a twin-rotor rotary engine acting as a generator to recharge the battery as needed.
The concept is about 10 inches longer than the current Miata and features a simplistic interior with a small screen and few physical switches.
Mazda didn't reveal a ton of details about the Iconic SP, but the automaker did publish dimensions. The concept measures 164.6 inches long, 72.8 inches wide, and 45.3 inches tall, with a nearly 102-inch wheelbase. This makes it about 10 inches longer than a Miata, four inches wider, three inches shorter, and with an 11-inch lengthier wheelbase. At 3197 pounds, it is also about 850 pounds portlier than a Miata.
Under the hood lives a hybrid system pairing an unspecified number of electric motors with a twin-rotor rotary engine. Mazda says the rotary engine is used for power generation, implying that it is simply a range extender that charges the battery and doesn't directly drive the wheels. Mazda uses a similar setup in the MX-30 e-Skyactiv R-EV, revealed earlier this year for global markets with a single-rotor engine serving as a battery generator.
Mazda says the Iconic SP's engine runs on a carbon-neutral fuel, but it can also "burn various fuels such as hydrogen." The powertrain pumps out 365 horsepower, which should make the slinky sports car fairly quick. The concept also allegedly acts as a power supply, allowing you to run appliances while spending time outdoors or in the event of an outage.
Mazda says the concept is designed for customers who “desire a car that simply embodies the joy of driving” and touts a low center of gravity and a 50:50 weight distribution. The sleek hood sits low between the front fenders thanks to the compact rotary engine, and the bodywork is incredibly smooth, like a piece of seaglass that has been polished by waves for eons. A version of Mazda's smiling grille sits below what appear to be pop-up LED headlights.
The cabin is simplistic, with a small screen to the right of the steering wheel and a series of sliders on the center console. A small digital gauge lives behind the steering wheel—displaying a track map of the Monaco Grand Prix circuit and a g-force meter—and the interior surfaces appear to be upholstered with a luxurious-looking suede. The concept is painted a vivid shade called Viola Red, matching the red stitching inside.
It's unclear exactly what the Iconic SP represents. Although the concept is bigger than the Miata and features a radically different powertrain than the MX-5's 2.0-liter inline-four, Mazda's Tokyo auto show exhibit will feature a variety of Miata models.
Mazda has already said that the Miata would become electrified to some degree for its next generation, so it's possible that the rotary-hybrid setup here could become reality. Either way, it is a reassuring look into a future where Mazda will remain committed to small, light sports cars.

2024 MERCEDES-BENZ E-CLASS UNVEILED (E300E) #car_2024 #mercedes #e_classes #e300e #2024
2024 MERCEDES-BENZ E-CLASS UNVEILED (E300E) #car_2024 #mercedes #e_classes #e300e #2024
As expected the sixth-generation E-Class copies its shape and many of its design elements with the latest C-Class and S-Class. These include flush-fitting door handles, and tail light clusters that stretch into the boot lid.
The new E-Class does have a few distinguishing items, though. Most notably it has scalloped headlight units that blend into the grille frame, a styling feature borrowed from the all-electric EQE and EQS models. If you’re so inclined, the grille can also be illuminated.
The three-pointed star not only features on badging, but can also been seen in place of traditional grille slats on some variants, embossed into the fake air intakes, and is present in the tail-light graphics.
According to Mercedes-Benz the E-Class has a drag coefficient of 0.23, the same as the outgoing model.
Measuring 4949mm long, 1880mm wide, 1468mm tall and riding on a 2961mm wheelbase, the new E-Class has been stretched out in every dimension except height. Compared to the outgoing model, the W214 E-Class is 26mm longer overall, 28mm wider, and has a 22mm longer wheelbase.
At launch in Europe, the E-Class will be available with three mild hybrid variants.
All three mild hybrid models have an integrated starter-generator that not only helps to start the internal combustion engine, but can also provide a 17kW/205Nm boost when necessary.
The E200 drinks at rate of around 7.3L/100km, and is capable of completing the 0-100km/h dash in 7.5 seconds. The E220d and E220d 4Matic are between 0.1 and 0.3 seconds slower, and drink at about 5.7L/100km.
The E300e requires 6.4 seconds to 100km/h, while the E400e needs just 5.3 seconds. Mercedes-Benz will add diesel plug-in hybrids to the range in the near future.
All mild and plug-in hybrid models have a nine-speed automatic transmission as standard.
While the launch range is powered purely by four-cylinder engines, reports indicate upcoming AMG variants will pair a PHEV system with a 3.0-litre turbo straight-six.
Available driving options include air suspension, adaptive dampers, and a rear-wheel steering system that can turn up 4.5 degrees to reduce the turning circle by up to 90cm.
Among the laundry list of safety features is an attention monitoring system that can warn the driver, and if they don’t respond after several escalations, can automatically bring the vehicle to a complete stop.
In countries where it’s legal, the new E-Class can park itself automatically and remotely in parking structures which have the required infrastructure built in.
Other safety items available include active cruise control, evasive steering assistance, active blind spot monitoring and lane keeping assistance, and cross traffic monitoring that can stop the car from launching off at traffic lights and stop signs if other road users are detected.
Access to the car can be gained through a traditional key fob, or a “digital vehicle key” that can be stored on an iPhone or Apple Watch. It can be shared with up to 16 people, and different profiles and rights can be assigned to each person.
As revealed last month, the dashboard of the E-Class can be kitted out MBUX Superscreen layout with digital instruments ahead of the driver, and a single pane of glass across much of the dashboard covering a large central touchscreen, and a slightly smaller touchscreen for the front passenger.
In some jurisdictions the front passenger can watch videos or TV on their screen, with the content filtered so that it’s not visible to the driver.
Sound systems available include the entry-level seven-speaker 125W unit, and a 21-speaker 730W Burmester surround sound setup with Dolby Atmos and Spatial Audio on top-shelf models.
Vehicles with the interior active ambient light system will allow passengers to “see” their music, with the lights pulsing to the beat, and colours changing to the rhythm or mood.
A two-zone climate control air conditioning system is standard, while the four-zone option can be fitted with automatic vent adjustment and fragrance ionisers.

NEW ROLLS-ROYCE SPECTRE 2024 #car_2024 #rollsroyce #spectre #new_car #ev
NEW ROLLS ROYCE SPECTRE 2024 #car_2024 #rollsroyce #spectre #new_car #ev
Electrification suits Rolls-Royce better than just about any other brand. After all, for decades, the highly exclusive automaker has worked tirelessly to tune its V-12s to near silence. But even in the context of previous Rolls-Royces, the electric Spectre represents a step change in quietude. If you subscribe to chief engineer Mihiar Ayoubi's take that "silence is luxury," then the Spectre is quite likely the most luxurious vehicle ever.
But the Spectre is so silent that to experience it is to ruin every other vehicle, including the rest of the Rolls lineup. At 80 to 90 mph, the slightest ripple of wind starts to nip at the Spectre's side glass. But compared with a ride the next day in a Cullinan SUV, one of the quietest vehicles we've ever measured (62 decibels at a 70-mph cruise), the Spectre is so much quieter that we thought one of the Cullinan's windows might be slightly open.
The company's first EV is about far more than just a lack of noise, however. Its tires roll so frictionlessly over smooth roads that you could believe you're hovering over the road, although sharp impacts ground those thoughts and serve as a reminder of the weight of the 23-inch wheels and 32-inch-tall Pirelli P Zero PZ4 Elect tires. The rolling smoothness is why we think the Spectre should have a coasting mode, which would continue the otherworldly feeling of effortlessness. Instead, there's a modest amount of default regen, with a B button on the spindly column shifter to increase regenerative braking to the point that it will bring the car to a stop without a touch of the brake pedal, which is a bit long of travel in an attempt to guarantee smoothness. Other than that, the Spectre has no selectable drive-mode settings, an approach we wholeheartedly agree with—offer a single excellent tune without giving drivers numerous ways to screw it up. For the same reason, there are no audio settings. The only other choice relating to the powertrain is a Rolls-Royce noise that scales with motor output; it sounds like an ominous futuristic storm that's a considerable distance away. With it off (our preference), the motors are perfectly silent. They're also plenty strong, although acceleration isn’t bonkers by today's EV standards. Still, a rush to 60 mph in the low-four-second range roughly matches the performance of the brand's V-12 models.
Those front and rear current-excited synchronous motors are borrowed from parent company BMW. There's a 255-hp motor in the front and the more powerful 483-hp rear unit from the iX M60 and the i7 M70. The 102.0-kWh battery pack is also shared with BMW and uses the same cells from CATL. Peak output is 577 horsepower and 664 pound-feet, all but equal to the latest twin-turbo V-12 in the Phantom sedan. Ayoubi says the Spectre uses nearly 400 pounds of sound-deadening materials, as in other Rolls-Royces, and the 1543-pound battery pack is another effective noise blanket.
A high beltline limits the view from the plush seats, with considerable distractions from the gorgeous leather and wood interior materials. A tap of the vents suggests billet aluminum. Despite the removal of the internal-combustion engine and drivetrain, there's still a central tunnel. The now-familiar Starlight headliner that's dotted with points of light is augmented with a new Starlight Doors option, featuring 4796 additional "stars" in the doors and the adult-size rear-seat area.
Nothing about the Spectre's arresting presence shouts about the sea change in propulsion, and that's deliberate. The brand's customers are not interested in a stylistic departure as Rolls-Royce transitions all its models to electric propulsion by 2030. Therefore, the long hood and generous dash-to-axle ratio remain, although there's not much to be seen under the hood save for a massive metal cover. The only bit that underwhelms is the oversize charge-port cover. Rolls reshaped and optimized every surface above and on the underside, leading to contribute to an impressive 0.25 coefficient of drag (versus 0.36 for the Phantom Coupe). Even the Spirit of
The company says research with potential owners showed that they are almost exclusively interested in charging at home and that the Spectre’s estimated 260 miles of EPA range is sufficient. Those traveling farther would likely choose a different vehicle from their personal fleet—one that isn’t ground-bound. Nevertheless, the Spectre has DC fast-charging capability with a claimed 195-kW peak.
Pricing starts at $422,750, but with a seemingly endless amount of customization possible, the company says it expects most of the vehicles to transact above $500,000. Rolls says 40 percent of those who have ordered a Spectre are new to the brand, and the first year of production, roughly 2500 cars, is already sold out. Deliveries start in November 2023.

NEW VOLKSWAGEN CALIFORNIA 2024 #car_2024 #volkswagen #california #travel
NEW VOLKSWAGEN CALIFORNIA 2024 #car_2024 #volkswagen #california #travel
The next-generation Volkswagen California camper is due out in 2024 with major changes under the sheet metal and a more spacious interior. The brand previewed the road trip-friendly model with a close-to-production concept introduced at a trade show in Germany.
While it remains big, boxy and available with an emblematic two-tone paint job, the next California shares little more than a name with the outgoing model. It's based on the Multivan, which rides on Volkswagen's MQB platform and was developed primarily to haul people and gear. In comparison, the current-generation California was designed as an evolution of the Transporter, which is a commercial vehicle. This approach to creating a camper is unprecedented in Volkswagen's history, and it should unlock a smoother and more comfortable ride.
Volkswagen presented the next California as a concept, but it stresses that what you see in our gallery is very close to what you'll see in showrooms outside of the United States when production begins in 2024. Platform aside, the carmaker hasn't strayed far from the recipe that has made the van a hit among adventurers for over three decades. The van gets a pop-up roof that two adults can sleep under, a roof-mounted awning and swiveling front seats, but it also receives a sliding door on the driver's side for the first time. Adding a fourth door required completely re-arranging the interior. Volkswagen shifted the kitchen back and fitted individual rear seats that can be removed.
Another benefit of adding a second sliding door is that the kitchen module becomes accessible from the outside. It includes a sink, a fridge, and a gas-powered cooker, and there's even a 230-volt power outlet as well as a folding table to complete your home away from home.
Designing the California as a Multivan offshoot gives it a more car-like interior than the current, Transporter-based model. It notably features an electronic parking brake that clears up space on the center console, and Volkswagen added a tablet-like touchscreen to the C-pillar that lets users control the camping-specific equipment, including the pop-up top. The screen can also be used to stream movies and shows.
California buyers will be able to choose from the same list of available powertrains as Multivan buyers. In most European markets, the volume engine is a tried-and-true 2.0-liter turbodiesel four-cylinder available in several states of tune. Volkswagen also offers a gasoline-burning four-cylinder and a plug-in hybrid system. Front-wheel drive and a seven-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission come standard.
The next-generation Volkswagen California will go on sale in numerous global markets in 2024, but California isn't one of them. Nothing suggests the model will be sold in the United States, so you'll need to head overseas if you want to sleep on top of a new Volkswagen van.

NEW RENAULT R4 OVERVIEW 2024-25 #electric_car #car_2024 #renault #r4c
French car-maker Renault will revive the iconic 1960s Renault 4, becoming its latest classic model to be reborn as an electric car alongside the Renault 5.
The Renault 4 nameplate is set to return for the first time in almost 30 years, with the French car-maker reviving the iconic badge on a new electric SUV.
Teased last week, the Renault 4Ever Trophy show car pays homage the company’s original Renault 4 – also known as the ‘R4’ or ‘4L’ – more than eight million of which were produced across various countries (including France and Australia) between 1961 and 1992, with production ending in Slovenia two years later.
While the Renault 4Ever Trophy has been designed as a tribute to the ‘4L Trophy’ – a desert rally in Morocco exclusive to modified Renault 4 classics – the concept previews what we can expect to see when the electric SUV enters production by 2025.
The Renault 4 electric SUV is shorter and wider than the current Renault Captur small SUV – measuring 4160mm long, 1950mm wide and 1900mm tall with a wheelbase of 2570mm.
As previously reported, the Renault 4 is set to be produced in France alongside the Megane E-Tech Electric small SUV and the electric Renault 5 hatchback – all of which will be based on the car-maker’s CMF-BEV small electric-car platform.
The production Renault 4 is expected to be powered by a single 100kW electric motor which drives the front wheels, although the car-maker is yet to confirm mechanical specifications.
Renault’s electric concept car features a single front panel which incorporates matrix LED headlights and an illuminated badge, while the lower bumper has been cut for increased ground clearance.
The Renault 4Ever Trophy rides on 19-inch wheels which are wrapped in off-road tyres, and equipped with an air compressor which can be controlled from inside the car.
A roof-mounted spare tyre, recovery equipment stored on the rear window and underbody protection highlight the off-road aspirations of Renault’s latest show car.
It is likely the production-ready Renault 4 will be far more conservative than the concept car, although unique features such as digital cameras, an L-shaped C-pillar and black wheel arch surrounds could carry across.
In May 2021, patent images were published online depicting what's believed to be the production Renault 4, with the basic design carrying across to the 4Ever Trophy concept.
In February, Renault announced the new Megane E-Tech Electric small SUV is due to arrive in Australia next year, joining an expanding electric model line-up which overseas includes the Kangoo, Trafic and Master vans.

NEW SKODA KODIAQ 2024 | FIRST LOOK & VISUAL REVIEW#car_2024 #skoda #kodiaq #first_look
Starting with the exterior, Škoda has stretched the Kodiaq by 61 mm to achieve an overall length of 4,758 mm, while keeping the wheelbase at 2,971 mm. Rather unusual for a new-generation vehicle, the width has decreased by 18 mm to 1,864 mm while the height is down by 17 mm compared to the model it replaces, now at 1,659 mm.
The new Kodiaq is available with a wide range of 17- to 20-inch alloy wheels and nine colors, including a new Bronx Gold metallic. The top-of-the-line Sportline trim level features a generous amount of black accents, including, for the first time, fully dark D-pillars. The roof rails, window frames, side mirror caps, front grille surround, rear diffuser and badges are all black. For the top-of-the-line model, Škoda adds Sportline badging to the front wings and exclusive 19-inch wheels with a high-gloss anthracite finish or an optional 20-inch set with aero covers.
Speaking of lighting, Škoda is using its second generation Matrix LED technology for the headlights, which now have 50 percent more light elements and deliver 15 percent more light output. These smarter headlights are standard on the Sportline and can be accompanied by a horizontal light bar across the grille.
Stepping inside, the changes are immediately noticeable, and not just because of the large display. For starters, the gear selector now sits on the steering column to create more space between the front seats. There's less switchgear than before because Škoda has installed Smart Dials on the center console. These take the form of 1.25-inch displays built into three rotary knobs similar to those in the Audi TT.
While the outer ones allow the driver and front passenger to adjust the interior temperature, seat heating and ventilation, the center display can be customized to show four different functions: infotainment system volume, fan speed, air direction and intelligent climate control. Other functions are accessed through the standard 10-inch infotainment display or the optional 13-inch display. The driver has a 10-inch digital instrument cluster that can be supplemented with an optional next-generation head-up display.
Without lowering the rear seats, you now have 910 liters of luggage space in the two-row model, 75 liters more than before. Fold them down and the capacity increases to a whopping 2,105 litres, 40 litres more than the first-generation Kodiaq. Opt for the seven-seat model and load space behind the third row increases to 340 litres, or 70 litres more than before. Fold down the third row and you have 845 litres, an increase of 80 litres. The three-row model's maximum cargo capacity has increased by 30 liters to 2,035 liters. The seven-seat model also has an additional 15 mm of headroom for rear-seat passengers.
Of course, the Kodiaq is loaded with comfort features: four USB-C ports with 45W of power, another USB-C with 15W built into the rearview mirror, nine speakers (a 14-speaker Canton sound system is optional), and inductive charging (15W) with cooling for two smartphones. Massaging front seats are available, as is a new climate control menu that's easy to access even though most physical buttons are gone.
Power comes from a range of internal combustion engines, starting with a 1.5 TSI petrol unit that benefits from mild hybrid technology. It runs on the Miller cycle and has a variable geometry turbocharger. The engine produces 150 horsepower (110 kilowatts) and features a further development of the VW Group's active cylinder technology, which switches off the cylinders to save fuel when the extra power is not needed. For even greater efficiency, the powertrain supports regenerative braking, allowing the SUV to start with the gas engine off.
If you need more power, the larger 2.0 TSI has 205 hp (150 kW) and comes with all-wheel drive, while the 1.5 TSI is only offered with front-wheel drive. Those who still want a diesel engine can get a 2.0 TDI with 150 hp (110 kW) and FWD or 193 hp (142 kW) and AWD. Whichever you choose, a seven-speed DSG transmits the power to the road.
The big update is a plug-in hybrid based on the 1.5 TSI with 150 hp (110 kW) and combined with an electric motor for a total system output of 205 hp (150 kW). There's a lithium-ion battery pack with a capacity of 25.7 kWh, which Škoda says is enough for an electric range of over 100 kilometers. Once depleted, the battery can be recharged at 11 kW with AC or up to 50 kW with DC.

NEW TOYOTA C-HR 2024 | FIRST LOOK #new_car #toyota #c_hr_2024 #car_2024 #first_look
NEW TOYOTA C-HR 2024 | FIRST LOOK #new_car #toyota #c_hr_2024 #car_2024 #first_look
The launch of the original Toyota C-HR was a landmark for both Toyota and the European C-SUV segment.
Its success as an innovator helped transform public perception of Toyota in Europe, adding a strong emotional dimension to the brand. Customers responded strongly with more than half citing the car's styling as their principal reason for purchase. The Toyota C-HR went on to become Toyota's best-performing model for conquest sales.
The all-new, next generation Toyota C-HR takes the stand-out quality and status of its predecessor to a higher level with avantgarde design, advanced technologies and a range of electrified hybrid and plug-in hybrid powertrains with increased power, greater driveability and extended all-electric driving capabilities.
The car's dynamic, condensed look is further strengthened by short overhangs and large wheels - up to 20-inch diameter. A new style of bi-tone paint design will be available, extending the contrast black roof down to the rear bumper and into the car's rear three-quarter section. Efforts were focused on creating a seamless look with tighter shut lines and perfect integration of such as the cameras, radar, and headlight washers with a "concealed tech" approach.
The Toyota C-HR features a new, 12.3-inch fully digital combimeter (depending on trim grade). Graphics are sharp and information is clearly zoned and easy to read. The display can be adjusted to prioritise different content according to driver preference or the kind of journey being made, for example making the active ADAS function information prominent when joining a motorway. There are three pre-set layout which can be personalised using switches on the steering wheel. Quality and ease of use are enhanced by consistent use of colours, fonts for the combimeter and the multimedia display screen.
The Toyota C-HR's ambient lighting system offers a wide range of colours - a choice of up to 64 - to introduce options for interior direct and indirect lighting to reflect the cabin environment - cool or warm - or the time of day. A programme of 24 changing shades has been designed, synchronised with the passing of each hour to progress from bright morning tones to more relaxing ones in the evening.
The all-new Toyota C-HR will be available with the Toyota Smart Connect multimedia package, including (according to model grade) an eight or 12.3-inch touchscreen, on-board voice agent and wireless smartphone connection via Apple CarPlay or Android Auto. The system will provide EV range information and local charging locations in its POI function. Owners will also be able to use the MyT smartphone app for remote control of vehicle functions, including operating air conditioning system to heat or cool the car before making a journey. The high level of innovation in the all-new Toyota C-HR includes a unique-in-class automatic parking function. An app will also be available to allow fully remote parking, with the driver outside the vehicle, allowing for even more precise manoeuvring into limited spaces.
The all-new Toyota C-HR will be introduced with a choice of four electrified powertrains, a line-up that demonstrates Toyota's well-proven multi-technology path to carbon neutrality. Toyota believes that diverse options need to be offered to give customers access to affordable and practical vehicles that will accelerate the pace of CO2 reduction as of now and help ensure a successful transition to zero emission mobility.
The range comprises 1.8 and 2.0-litre hybrid electric (HEV) versions and a 2.0-litre plug-in hybrid electric (PHEV) model. The 2.0-litre HEV variant will additionally be available with the option of intelligent all-wheel drive (AWD-i).
Design and technology measures have also been taken to reduce the car's weight, including new high-strength steels and a new panoramic roof design. The fixed panoramic roof has low-emissive and infra-red-reducing coatings which keep heat inside the cabin in winter and prevents overheating in sunny summer weather. This avoids the need for a conventional sunshade, saving 5 kg in unit weight, improving headroom by 3 cm and reducing the need to use the air conditioning to maintain a comfortable temperature.
The High Premiere Edition has a signature Sulphur bi-tone exterior - other colours will also be available. The cabin features perforated leather seats with contrast Sulphur stitching, a head-up display and panoramic roof.
With its concept car-like design, seamless digital user experience, fully electrified powertrain range and nimble driving dynamics, the new Toyota C-HR has the qualities to maintain its position as an iconic model, attracting new customers and strengthening the Toyota brand in Europe.

NEW GMC CANYON AT4X 2024 #new_car #gmc #canyon #at4x #2024
NEW GMC CANYON AT4X 2024 #new_car #gmc #canyon #at4x #2024
Enter the AEV Edition. With taller Goodyear Wrangler Territory Mud-Terrain tires—GMC rounds those LT315/70R17 up to 35 inches—and a 4.5-inch lift, it stands 1.5 inches higher than the regular AT4X. That translates to 12.2 inches of ground clearance, and the truck's AEV-specific front and rear steel bumpers help enable a 38.2-degree approach angle and a 26.0-degree departure angle; its breakover angle is 26.9 degrees. For comparison, the regular AT4X's approach, breakover, and departure angles measure 36.9, 24.5, and 25 degrees, respectively.
Much like how the Bison version of the 2024 Chevy Colorado ZR2 takes that truck to another level of off-road capability, the AEV Edition does the same for the Canyon AT4X. For those who don't already know, the regular AT4X boasts 33-inch mud-terrain tires, aluminum skid plates, electronic locking front and rear differentials, Multimatic DSSV spool-valve dampers, wider front and rear tracks, and a 3.0-inch inch lift that helps provide 10.7 inches of ground clearance.
Along with improved clearances and easily accessible recovery points, the front bumper has a slot to accommodate a winch and the rear bumper has a cap on each corner that can be removed to reveal steel plates for sliding over rocks and other hard obstacles. To better protect vital components underneath the Canyon, the AEV Edition comes with additional skid plates, all of which are tougher than the aluminum ones on the regular AT4X. Made of hot-stamped boron steel, the five pieces of armor protect the AEV's radiator, steering gear, transmission and transfer case, fuel tank, and rear differential.
The Canyon AT4X AEV Edition also comes with exclusive 17-inch Salta wheels that are beadlock-capable, rock rails to protect the rocker panels, and a full-size spare tire mounted in the cargo bed. The truck's front fender openings have also been enlarged to prevent the larger tires from rubbing, and the fender flares are also wider because the AEV version has front and rear tracks that are expected to be almost an inch wider than the regular AT4X.
Inside, the top-spec Canyon looks similar to its AT4X counterpart, except it has AEV-branded floor mats and embroidered headrests. Every model also has a digital gauge cluster and an 11.3-inch touchscreen infotainment system. The latter includes wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto as well as the new Ultifi software that allows over-the-air updates.
Under the hood, the AEV Edition has the same engine as every AT4X. The turbocharged 2.7-liter inline-four makes 310 horsepower and 430 pound-feet of torque. An eight-speed automatic transmission and all-wheel drive are also standard. Both Canyon models have an exclusive Baja drive mode, but now it includes launch control. Just like on the 2024 Colorado ZR2, it's accessed using the rotary knob on the center console. NEW GMC CANYON AT4X 2024
GMC says the 2024 Canyon AT4X AEV Edition will be available to order sometime later this year. There's also no word on pricing, but we expect the most extreme off-road model to start around $70,000.

NEW FORD’S F-150 SUPERCHARGED SECRET |700HP | V8 #ford #f150 #2024 #car_2024
NEW FORD’S F-150 SUPERCHARGED SECRET |700HP | V8 #ford #f150 #2024 #car_2024
The non-hybrid or all-electric Ford F-150 hasn't been in the news much lately. Sales, however, remain as strong as ever despite the production crunch caused by the semiconductor chip crisis. A majority of buyers are opting for one of the turbocharged EcoBoost engines (the PowerStroke diesel is dead for 2022), but there's still the naturally aspirated 5.0-liter Coyote V8. This is the same engine found in the Mustang GT.
Unfortunately, it's time seems to be limited due to upcoming emissions standards. But that day hasn't arrived just yet. Ford Performance has offered a supercharger kit specifically for this engine in past years and it's back again. However, there's been a change.
Ford Authority confirmed with Ford Performance product manager Mike Goodwin that the latest kit had to be redesigned due to the engine receiving cylinder deactivation. Still, it delivers an extremely healthy 700 horsepower and 590 lb-ft of torque. Going from 0 to 60 mph takes less than five seconds. Not so long ago, those were supercar performance numbers.
And in case you're wondering (because this is important these days), the kit is CARB legal in all 50 states. It also comes with a 3-year, 30,000-mile warranty specifically for the Whipple supercharger but only if it's installed by a Ford dealer. Other components included in the kit, which requires up to 12 hours for installation, are an intercooler and an air inlet but not the intake and exhaust.
Pricing has yet to be announced but the 2020 kit set the bank account back by $7,500. Installation was another $2,000 to $3,000. The new kit should cost about the same. Orders will get underway by the end of the year. Ford didn't have anything to add regarding the NA 5.0 V8's lifespan but, as noted, we don't expect it to last much longer in its current form.
The upcoming seventh-generation Mustang, internally called S650, will offer two hybrid engine options, one of which is a hybridized version of the engine. Not only will it be more efficient but output will surely increase. Hopefully, it'll make its way to the F-150 as well.
Since the superchargers are available for the base XL trim, it’s possible to get an extremely nasty street truck for a relatively small amount of money. The XL model with a V8 engine costs around $38,000 after destination charges, so the final price with the supercharger included would slide in well under $50,000. Of course, that price does not include installation, which can add thousands to the bottom line if you cannot do the installation yourself.

NEW LEXUS TX 2024 #car_2024 #lexus #tx #new_car
NEW LEXUS TX 2024 #car_2024 #lexus #tx #new_car
It's a testament to the success of the RX that Lexus was able to dominate the luxury-crossover.
Built on the same platform as the Toyota Grand Highlander, the TX is significantly bigger than the latest RX, with a nearly four-inch longer wheelbase, almost three inches of extra width, and just over a 203-inch overall length. There's no swoopy roofline to be found here, as the squared-off rear end makes it clear the TX is a people hauler that places function over form.
Space for passengers and cargo is important in this segment, and that's what the TX delivers. No matter whether you choose the seven-passenger configuration with a second-row bench or the six-passenger setup with captain's chairs, all three rows are habitable for adults. The only real flaw in the rearmost seat is the low bottom cushion, but that's true of most of the TX's rivals, and at least Lexus offers a recline function along with armrests and USB ports.
The environs up front will be familiar to anyone who has driven the new RX, with a large 14.0-inch touchscreen dominating the dash and a muted design without many flashy touches. Many premium vehicles have interiors that look better than they feel, but the latest Lexus cabins are the opposite, with lots of plush touch points and high-quality materials but little visual flair or panache. We found the touchscreen to be relatively clear and easy to use, but certain functions—such as the drive mode selector—are buried deeper in settings menus than we'd like. The touch-sensitive control pads on the steering wheel that display their selections on the head-up display are also not the most intuitive.
While many competitors offer merely a turbo four or a V-6 engine, Lexus is offering a wide range of powertrain choices in the TX, including two hybrids. The base TX350 has a 275-hp turbocharged 2.4-liter inline-four that provides merely adequate grunt for a big vehicle like this. We expect a 60-mph time in the 7.0-second neighborhood, slightly quicker with the optional all-wheel drive, but both of which are not standout times for this class. The turbo four is relatively well isolated from the cabin, but its occasionally grumbly tone makes us miss the smoothness of Lexus's naturally aspirated 3.5-liter V-6—though it was also a bit sluggish and didn't provide great fuel economy.
Things get more interesting with the 366-hp TX500h, a hybrid that comes exclusively with the F Sport Performance treatment. Its combination of the turbo four with front and rear electric motors is nearly identical to the Hybrid Max system available in the Grand Highlander, and it's similarly impressive here. We enjoyed hustling the TX500h through corners, as the powertrain is quick and responsive and the F Sport's standard adaptive dampers tighten up the body motions, making the TX a surprisingly eager handler for its size. The tradeoff is ride quality, as the F Sport model is a bit too firm for this vehicle's mission.

NEW VOLKSWAGEN TIGUAN 2024 #car_2024 #volkswagen #tiguan
NEW VOLKSWAGEN TIGUAN 2024 #car_2024 #volkswagen #tiguan
Volkswagen has revealed the third-generation Tiguan, due in the UK in early 2024, as a comprehensively restyled and re-engineered version of its best-selling car.
Development of the new Tiguan has largely been undertaken in parallel with the latest Passat, with which it shares VOLKSWAGEN upgraded MQB-Evo platform, plus much of its upgraded digital and connectivity functions, including the latest version of VOLKSWAGEN MIB infotainment platform and new over-the-air software update capability.
At 4539mm long, 1639mm tall (without roof rails) and 1842mm wide, the heavily restyled Tiguan is 30mm longer, 4mm taller and the same width as its popular predecessor. Its wheelbase also remains the same as before, at 2680mm.
Among the turbocharged four-cylinder engines is a new mild-hybrid 1.5-litre petrol developing either 129bhp or 148bhp in a pair of front-wheel-drive eTSI models. There is also an updated version of the more conventional 2.0-litre petrol engine, which develops 201bhp and 261bhp in two new four-wheel-drive TSI 4Motion models.
The turbocharged 2.0-litre diesel remains but with detailed changes to its exhaust system. It continues to develop 148bhp in the front-wheel-drive 2.0 TDI and 190bhp in the four-wheel-drive 2.0 TDI
The petrol-electric drivetrain used by plug-in hybrid Tiguans has been heavily reworked. It is now based on the 1.5-litre engine from the new eTSI models instead of the older turbo 1.4-litre unit and it is paired with a more powerful electric motor. However, the two front-wheel-drive eHybrid models retain the same power as those they replace, at 201bhp and 268bhp.
The headline changes are inside, where the third-gen Tiguan receives a new cabin that sports a cleaner look, more upmarket materials, improved technology and more space than its predecessor.
Among the extensive list of changes is a redesigned dashboard featuring a new control matrix, illuminated trim elements and new-look air vents. It supports a 10.3in digital instrument display as well as a central touchscreen infotainment display that measures 12.9in as standard or 15.0in in upgraded guise.
The infotainment display incorporates a backlit slider controller similar to that of the latest Passat and ID 7. It also adopts a new MIB4 digital menu structure, with touchscreen air-con controls incorporated into the lower section.
There's also a new centre console, hosting a rotary controller that is used to alter the driving modes, the audio volume and what VOLKSWAGEN calls ‘Atmospheres’ – essentially pre-programmed settings for the ambient lighting and other functions, such as playlists from Spotify and Apple Music.
With all new Tiguan models receiving an automatic dual-clutch gearbox as standard, the gear selector is relocated to a stalk mounted on the steering column.
Volkswagen claims head room has increased by 8mm in the front and by 10mm in the rear. Boot space for non-plug-in hybrid models has also risen by 37 litres to a nominal 652 litres.
Options include a new head-up display unit, which projects information onto the windscreen instead of a plastic panel as with the old Tiguan, as well as a wireless phone charger.
With a new 19.7kWh battery, they are also claimed to offer electric ranges of up to 62 miles. The capacity for DC charging at up to 50kW means top-ups will be far quicker. Petrol and diesel Tiguans use a seven-speed dual-clutch automatic gearbox (DSG), with the plug-in hybrids running a six-speed DSG.
VOLKSWAGEN has also reworked the Tiguan’s MacPherson-strut front and four-link rear suspension with new dampers and revised anti-roll bars. In combination with the new independent rear suspension, these are said to provide increased stiffness and improved stability
This latest version is set to be available from launch in four trims, kicking off at around £30,000 in base form and rising to the mid-£40,000s for the top-rung R-Line.

2024 MINI COOPER COUNTRYMAN #car_2024 #cooper #countryman
2024 MINI COOPER COUNTRYMAN #car_2024 #cooper #countryman
The 2024 edition retains its cheeky exterior styling and kitschy interior, which is fitted with high-quality materials. Power is supplied by turbocharged three- or four-cylinder engines with either front- or all-wheel drive, and a plug-in hybrid powertrain is also available. Compared to its smaller siblings, the Cooper Countryman is less fun to wield—and behind-the-wheel playfulness is one of the things that has made other modern Minis attractive.
There are few changes to the Cooper Countryman for the 2024 model year. The Signature Trim 2.0 is now available on the plug-in hybrid model. Additionally, the power tailgate, parking assistant, and active cruise control features become standard content for Iconic Trim 2.0 models.
The Countryman family includes three distinct powertrains. The base engine is a 134-hp turbocharged three-cylinder that lacks the power to move the crossover's 3300-plus pounds with any authority. The Cooper S has a more powerful 189-hp turbo-four, but it still doesn't provide the giddyap that we crave. The plug-in-hybrid model is the quickest non-JCW Countryman we've tested, but it's also the most expensive. Nonhybrid front-drive versions feature a snappy seven-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission; all-wheel-drive models receive an eight-speed automatic. The Countryman's stoic disposition isn't a bad thing; it's just different from the attitudes of other Minis, which are unreservedly playful. The plug-in hybrid's brake pedal has a long dead spot at the top of its travel, which takes some getting used to.
The most fuel-efficient Countryman is the plug-in-hybrid Cooper S E, which has a combined EPA rating of 73 MPGe. Among the nonhybrid models, the three-cylinder version is the thriftiest, earning up to 26 mpg city and 32 highway. The more powerful four-cylinder Cooper S achieves up to 23 mpg in the city and 31 mpg on the freeway. On our 75-mph highway fuel-economy route, the Cooper S Countryman All4 returned a decent 32 mpg. For more information about the Countryman's fuel economy, visit the EPA's website.
The Countryman's interior showcases typical Mini design elements, such as an infotainment system set in a large circular housing in the center of the dash and toggle switches for controlling the interior lights, the ignition, and the standard stop-start system. There's a lot to like about the Countryman's cabin, which is assembled from high-quality materials and offers adequate passenger space. Back-seat riders will be comfortable on long trips, but you'll have to pay for the Convenience package if you want a center armrest. The cabin has a number of storage nooks, providing sufficient space for stashing personal items; however, the Countryman offers less cargo room than some smaller competitors. Mini makes up for that with a fair amount of underfloor storage space, but opting for the available spare tire takes up most of that.
The Countryman comes standard with a 6.5-inch screen for its infotainment system, and an 8.8-inch display with navigation and Apple CarPlay capability is available. Buyers can control the latter via touch inputs, a console-mounted dial, and voice commands.
While it comes standard with automated emergency braking the Countryman lacks some other common driver-assistance technology, namely blind-spot monitoring and lane keeping.
Key safety features include:
Standard forward-collision warning and automated emergency braking
Available adaptive cruise control
Available self-parking assist

NEW MERCEDES AMG COUPE 2024 | FIRST FULL REVIEW #car_2024 #mercedes #couple #amg
The GLC Coupe is all-new for 2024 with fresh duds and more horsepower from a 48-volt hybridized powertrain. Its suspension has been updated to increase the GLC Coupe's agility and even the standard panoramic sunroof has grown for the new model year
Getting there on time is as easy as leaving early, but arriving in style is where the Mercedes-Benz GLC Coupe blossoms. This is the more dramatic presentation of the square-back GLC SUV, reviewed separately, but the two SUVs share their guts and luxury appointments and are smitten with standard features such as heated seats, wireless smartphone charging, a great sound system, and a panoramic sunroof. The GLC Coupe uses a 255-hp turbocharged four-cylinder engine with an overboost function that punches out an additional 23 horsepower for short periods. All-wheel drive and a nine-speed automatic transmission are also standard. Interior commands are controlled by a massive infotainment display, which is only somewhat outdone by the large gauge cluster behind the GLC's thick steering wheel. The interior is finely stitched and adorned with enough LED ambient lighting to turn the cockpit into a Miami nightclub. While the GLC Coupe's style comes at the sacrifice of cargo space versus its more SUV-esque sibling, there's no arguing which one will make you look cooler behind the wheel.
The GLC300 is rich with standard amenities. Every GLC has LED headlights and taillights, a plush interior, and a wide array of driver-assistance features. For 2024, Mercedes-Benz has included the previously optional AMG Line package as standard equipment. That adds wireless smartphone charging, heated seats, and a Burmester 3D Surround system.
All 2023 GLC Coupes use a turbocharged 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine. A 48-volt hybrid system helps augment the powertrain, which is good for 255 horsepower and 250 pound-feet of torque. A nine-speed automatic transmission and all-wheel drive are standard. While we haven't yet subjected the new GLC Coupe to our extensive testing routine, we estimate the SUV will get to 60 mph in 5.7 seconds. The new GLC Coupe also sports an updated suspension—a new four-link front-axle system and a multi-link rear setup—to help keep all that mass comfortably in place. We had a chance to test drive the GLC300 Coupe in Austria, but that Euro-spec example came with an air suspension and a rear-wheel steering system—neither of which will make the leap to North America. When we get a U.S.-market GLC Coupe to our office for testing, we'll update this story with driving impressions and test results.
Much of the GLC Coupe's interior space is dedicated to entertainment and interactive interfaces. A giant 11.9-inch infotainment display handles climate as well as nearly all vehicle controls, but there's also wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. A wireless smartphone charger is tucked under the center console's lid. The infotainment display is also central to the GLC's parking camera, which can rotate its view to check for curbing or other obstacles.
Comfort is a dust that can't be cleaned from the GLC Coupe's interior. A mix of beautifully-stitched leather and high-quality plastics surround a swath of impressive standard niceties like heated seats and a 710-watt Burmester 3D Surround system. Much of the space on the dash that was once exposed has been draped in high-definition touchscreen displays that configure more parts of the vehicle than ever using the most recent MBUX infotainment software.

NEW VOLKSWAGEN TOUAREG 2024 FACELIFT | LOOK AT OUR NEW DESIGN #car_2024 #volkswagen #touareg
NEW VOLKSWAGEN TOUAREG 2024 FACELIFT | LOOK AT OUR NEW DESIGN #car_2024 #volkswagen #touareg
Volkswagen is upgrading its flagship and giving the Touareg a more or less major facelift. High-tech LED headlights, improved suspension and new operating software are to make the luxury SUV fit for the years to come.
As a popular luxury SUV, VW has so far achieved more than 1.13 million sales over three model generations - quite an achievement for a once bourgeois-oriented brand like VW when measured against the high initial price.
In addition to visual retouching, which mainly affects the front and rear, the Wolfsburg-based company is introducing the high-resolution and further developed IQ-Light HD LED matrix headlights for the first time on one of its models. 32,000 LED pixels are supposed to illuminate the road as bright as day and at the same time be able to fade out other vehicles and people with pixel precision. If the optional headlights are configured into the vehicle, road users driving behind can recognise another innovation on the Touareg at night: For the first time, the VW logo between the LED tail lights is illuminated in red.
The engineers have also worked on the chassis. Not only is there a roof load sensor networked with the chassis electronics for the first time, which recognises when a roof box is fitted, but the comfort and agility of the two selectable suspensions have also been improved, according to the factory. In the basic version, the new VW Touareg still comes with a steel suspension, while an air suspension with adjustable height and firmness can be ordered as an option. A pure adaptive suspension (or the new 2-chamber 2-valve air suspension), as offered on the sister model Porsche Cayenne, is not available. Active roll stabilisation and all-wheel steering are also available at extra cost, depending on the model.
As for the engine line-up, Volkswagen is relying on familiar models. The entry-level engine continues to be a 3.0-litre V6 turbo diesel with a choice of 231 or 286 hp (combined fuel consumption: 8.0 l/100 km). Above this is the 3.0-litre V6 petrol engine with 340 hp (fuel consumption combined: 10.7 l/100 km; and the two plug-in hybrid models eHybrid (381 system hp) and R eHybrid (462 system hp) (fuel consumption combined: WLTP fuel consumption combined 2.4-2.1 l/100 km; electricity consumption combined 24.2-23.7 kWh/100km;
Volkswagen refrained from adjusting the battery size of both part-time electric vehicles to match those of its competitors. The battery size remains the same at 17.9 kWh, of which 14.3 kWh net can be used in everyday driving. Accordingly, the range of the Touareg eHybrid remains 52 kilometres and that of the Touareg R Hybrid 47 kilometres.
Volkswagen also refrained from making any major changes to the interior. The so-called Innovation Cockpit continues to dominate the interior of the Touareg. It consists of a Digital Cockpit with a screen diagonal of 30.5 centimetres and the Discover Pro Max infotainment system, which measures 38.1 centimetres diagonally. Probably the biggest innovation is an updated software version, which should make operation via the touchscreen, but also voice control, even more comfortable and error-free. Apple CarPlay and Android Auto also work wirelessly with the facelift.
The also familiar and optional assistance systems of the VW Touareg continue to include Travel Assist (assisted driving up to the maximum speed), Area View (360-degree view of the surroundings when manoeuvring), Park Assist Plus with remote control via app for automatic parking and unparking, Trailer Assist (assisted manoeuvring with trailer) and "Nightvision" (night vision support).
The new VW Touareg is available in four trim levels: basic, Elegance, R-Line and R-Model, with the basic version starting at 69,200 euros. The Elegance equipment line follows at a minimum of 75,070 euros, whereas the R-Line starts at 79,660 euros and the Touareg R Hybrid is listed in the German price list from 93,870 euros. Standard equipment includes: LED headlights, Innovations Cockpit, Discover Pro Max navigation system, 2-zone automatic climate control, electrically adjustable and heated front seats, keyless go, electric tailgate operation, DCC automatic distance control, lane departure warning, reversing camera, traffic sign recognition and emergency brake assist.

NEW BMW X2 & iX2 2024 FIRST LOOK EXTERIOR & INTERIOR #car_2024 #electric_car #bmw #x2 #ix2
NEW BMW X2 & iX2 2024 FIRST LOOK EXTERIOR & INTERIOR #car_2024 #electric_car #bmw #x2 #ix2
The BMW X2 is the car that first introduced the vehicle concept of a Sports Activity Coupé (SAC) for the premium compact segment. And now the even more distinctive, even sportier and even more forward-looking second generation is taking to the stage. Significantly larger dimensions and a pronounced coupé silhouette clearly showcase in its exterior design the development leap taken by the new BMW X2. The progressive character of the new model is also evident in the fully electric BMW i X2 variant, as well as in a large spread of systems enabling automated driving and parking, and in the innovative digital services laid on by the new BMW iDrive with QuickSelect and BMW Operating System 9.
The worldwide market launch will get underway in March 2024 with the all-electric BMW i X2 xDrive30 (electric power consumption combined in the WLTP cycle: 17.7 – 16.3 kWh/100 km; BMW X2 M35i xDrive performance model (fuel consumption combined: 8.0 – 7.7 l/ 100 km ), one other petrol option and one diesel model. In summer 2024 a second fully electric variant and another diesel-engined example will be added to the line-up.
The new BMW X2 and new BMW i X2 will be produced flexibly on a single assembly line at BMW Group Plant Regensburg. The high-voltage batteries for the fully electric model variant are also made at the Regensburg site. The new BMW i X2 sees the BMW Group further accelerating the ramp-up of electric mobility.
The new BMW X2 has a distinctive, visually expressive design showing clear differentiation from the brand’s compact Sports Activity Vehicle (SAV), the BMW X1. As such, it is instantly identifiable as a pure-bred Sports Activity Coupé (SAC). Also characteristic of the new model are its dynamically stretched lines and a generous surface treatment. The new BMW X2 has grown by 194 millimetres in length over its predecessor to 4,554 millimetres, by 21 millimetres in width to 1,845 millimetres and by 64 millimetres in height to 1,590 millimetres. Plus, its increased wheelbase and wider tracks benefit space in both the five seats and the boot. The new X2 has a maximum load capacity of 560 – 1,470 litres, depending on the model variant. The BMW i X2 offers between 525 and 1,400 litres.
The model-specific, upright front end of the new BMW X2 exudes confidence and presence. Its defining elements are striking LED headlights and an almost hexagonal BMW kidney grille, which – in a first for the premium compact segment – can be specified as an option with BMW Iconic Glow contour lighting. Also on the options list are Adaptive LED Headlights with non-dazzling matrix high beam.
The roofline, which flows along an unbroken path into the rear end, creates a slim, coupé-shaped silhouette and proportions in the signature style of an SAC from BMW. At the rear, the prominently flared wheel arches and muscular shoulders come to the fore. The horizontal contours of the model-specific rear light design further enrich the sporting flavour, as do a Gurney-style spoiler and an eye-catching rear apron.
M-specific design features such as the two pairs of exhaust tailpipes integrated into the rear apron give the BMW X2 M35i xDrive a particularly dynamic aura. An M Sport package is available for all other model variants, including the new BMW i X2, and likewise brings aerodynamically optimised exterior details. Also on the options list is the M Sport package Pro, which adds extended M High-gloss Shadowline exterior trim, M lights Shadowline, an M rear spoiler and an M Sport braking system with red-painted callipers, among other features.
Customers can choose from two solid and eleven metallic paint finishes for the exterior of their new BMW X2, including the new Fire Red metallic variant. Two Frozen shades from BMW Individual and a broad spectrum of BMW Individual special paint finishes are also available.
The latest version of the BMW iDrive display and control/operation system featuring QuickSelect rapid-access tech is fitted in the new BMW X2. Based on BMW Operating System 9, it is packaged together with the BMW Curved Display and BMW Intelligent Personal Assistant, meaning it has been carefully geared to operation using the touchscreen and natural language. BMW Operating System 9 also paves the way for a highly customisable selection of additional digital services. With BMW ConnectedDrive Upgrades, customers can enjoy a free one-month trial of selected functions, after which they are able to add them for a specific period of time. The new BMW Digital Premium offering can also be obtained from the BMW ConnectedDrive Store for the new BMW X2.

NEW RENAULT CAPTUR 2023 - VISUAL REVIEW #new_car #renault #capture #2023 - #visual _review
NEW RENAULT CAPTUR 2023 - VISUAL REVIEW #new_car #renault #capture #2023 - #visual _review
The global shift from hatchbacks to crossovers has seen the evergreen Clio drop out of favour for models more like the Renault Captur. Renault SA now introduces the all-new, second-generation Captur after a long and protracted struggle to counter global supply chain issues.
This all-new, second-generation Captur picks up where the old one left off, slotting into the B-SUV segment for crossovers that combine the practicality of an SUV with the compact, easy-driving nature of a hatchback. It makes no bones that it's gunning for the likes of the Haval Jolion, Kia Seltos, Volkswagen T-Cross and a slew of other upmarket crossovers that play in this exceptionally hot-contested segment of the market.
The new generation Captur is immediately recognisable as both a Renault and a Captur. It retains the original lines, sporty proportions and attractive styling cues that made the first generation so popular. The upright nature of the shape is broken by a distinct kink in the C-pillar and is now finished off with a larger brushed silver detail.
At the front, the headlights receive the contemporary LED Renault C-shape DRLs with functional air vents situated down low in the corners that create a curtain of air around the wheels to improve efficiency. The rear gets a similar lighting treatment with a set of attractive, C-shaped LED taillights.
Two trim levels are on offer, Zen and Intens, with the latter wearing a set of 17-inch alloy wheels. The former has to make do with wheel covers, although the wheel size remains at 17 inches.
The all-new Captur is larger than before, growing by 107 mm in length, 7 mm in height, and with a wheelbase that is 33 mm longer. This not only increases interior space by 20 mm but improves the high-speed stability of the new Captur.
To be able to compete in this segment, offerings have to be well-equipped. The Chinese brands have shown how well an attractive, well-priced, feature-packed offering can perform in the market and the new Captur follows suit. Zen models get a 7-inch landscape infotainment system while the range-topping Intens version proudly presents a 9.3-inch portrait-orientated infotainment system, replete with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay as well as housing a native navigation system. Voice control makes light work of executing tasks.
The Intens model also features additional convenience features such as a heated steering wheel, keyless access with proximity sensing, cruise control and a speed limiter. Wireless charging and a multitude of USB ports keep you charged up and ready to go.
The Captur has a 404-litre boot that expands to 536-litre when you slide the rear seats forward and under the boot floor, you will find an additional 86-litre of storage space for items that you'd like to keep out of sight. Fold the rear seats forward and you get a total of 1 275-litres for a truly cavernous cargo space.
Under the hood, you will find a 1.3-litre turbocharged petrol engine in both derivatives. Both make the same 113 kW and 270 Nm torque and are mated to a 7-speed dual-clutch automatic gearbox. These power figures are mighty impressive and amongst the highest you will find against its competitors. Despite this, the Captur will return a claimed 6.6 l/100km on the combined cycle and on our test drive we managed to hit these figures without even trying and without making use of the Eco mode (three modes are on offer; My Sense, Sport, and Eco).
The package is more than agreeable and the gearbox programming is well-tuned for most applications. Drivers will have the option of interacting with the gearbox through a set of steering-wheel-mounted paddles.
As a whole, the new Captur presents an attractive and appealing package but it's not without a few concerns. A few areas left us disappointed, particularly with the materials used in some of the trimmings. The glove box is one such area where the plastic feels terribly cheap with a nasty, flimsy catch. A minor qualm but one worth noting. We don't doubt that after spending more time with the model we would discover a few other areas. Another was the finishing of some of the plastics where the flashing from the moulding process hasn't been finished off particularly well, resulting in sharp edges to some areas like the aforementioned paddle shifters.
Then there's the fact that this new Captur is late to the party which means that it will be due for a facelift in the next 24 months. We could see this as soon as early next year in which case the value of this derivative will suddenly take a knock. If you are the sort that holds onto cars for longer than a few years this should be of no concern but for the rest of us, we may want to hold out for the updated version.

NEW VOLKSWAGEN T-CROSS 2024 (New details) #car_2024 #volkswagen #t_cross
NEW VOLKSWAGEN T-CROSS 2024 #car_2024 #volkswagen #t_cross
Volkswagen has revealed the new and updated 2024 T-Cross for the European market. This update comes four years after the compact SUV debuted. The T-Cross has been a high-selling offering from Volkswagen and this update will also give us an idea of all the changes we could expect from the India-spec Taigun facelift.
2024 T-Cross Exterior
On the outside, the 2024 T-Cross gets a reworked fascia with a bold-looking grille and new IQ.Light LED matrix headlamps. A chrome strip running across the grille is neatly integrated with new signature LED DRLs. Similarly at the back, the thick slat of the taillamp setup now gets a newer LED lighting signature. Further, three new exterior paint schemes are part of the update – Solid Grape Yellow (seen in the pictures), Clear Blue Metallic, and Kings Red Metallic.
2024 Volkswagen T-Cross Interior
New infotainment generation and high-quality interior. The central element in the interior of the new T-Cross is the freestanding-looking infotainment display. The diagonal of the standard touch screen is 20.3 cm (8.0 inches); in the top version it is a display with a screen diagonal of 23.4 cm (9.2 inches). In addition, all versions of the four-door five-seater are now equipped with digital instruments as standard. The dashboard of the T-Cross has also been completely redesigned: As in larger VW models, softly upholstered and significantly higher-quality surface materials characterise the instrument panel. The same applies at the front for the door panels of the "Style" and "R-Line" versions. Manual air conditioning is fitted as standard, while automatic climate control ("Air Care Climatronic") with backlit touchsliders is available as an option.
The interior of the T-Cross has always been among the most spacious and versatile of compact SUVs. It scores with its sophisticated handling, balanced space for up to five people, the 140 mm sliding rear seat and its maximum variable load space. With all seats occupied, the T-Cross offers a luggage compartment volume of 385 to 455 litres when loaded to the height of the rear seat. Folding the rear seat (60:40 divisible) creates a flat load area with up to 1,281 litres of stowage volume (loaded to the height of the front seat backrests). In addition, the front passenger seat backrest can be folded as standard from the "Life" equipment line onwards. The 2,398 mm long continuous load area can accommodate everything from surfboards to paragliders.
Part of the update is the new advanced driver’s assist hardware. The 2024 T-Cross comes with adaptive cruise control, lane assist, traffic assist, and automatic braking. The rest of the cabin remains more or less unchanged. Most of these elements seen on the international-spec T-Cross are already present in the MQB-IN-based Taigun. We expect the newer touchscreen and additional features to be seen on the Taigun facelift in India as well, including the driver assist hardware.
Pre-sales will start in the fourth quarter of 2023. The T-Cross has conquered a top position among compact SUVs in just four years: around 1.2 million people have already opted for the versatile Volkswagen. With an average of around 300,000 units produced each year, the T-Cross, which is also offered outside Europe as the Tacqua and Taigun, is currently one of the most successful VW models worldwide.

2023 BYD YANGWANG U8 – HARDCORE OFF ROAD SUV #electric_car #2023 #byd #yangwang #u8
BYD Yangwang U8, previosly known as Yangwang R1, is a luxurious performance-oriented electric SUV. It is a direct competitor to Land Rover brand and Mercedes-Benz’s upcoming all-electric G-Wagon called EQG. The technical details of this new model is scarce right now but BYD will release more info regarding their new sub-brand Yangwang in the next couple of months.
U8 comes with four electric motors, one for each wheel. The advanced powertrain will improve Yangwang U8’s off-road performance. BYD claims that U8 is capable of speeding at 120 km/h even if its tires are blown out.
BYD U8 and all-electric super car BYD U9 are based on the new e4 platform. This next-gen architecture offers more flexibility in numerous areas, such as the number of motors, high-voltage electrical system, etc. For instance, Chinese EV maker will use its first 800V SiC inverter, which scores a 99.5 percent efficiency, inside the Yangwang EVs.
BYD, is constantly expanding its product lineup. The company aims to reach more customers and increase profitability by concentrating on various models. In accordance with this strategy, BYD started working on an off-road SUV called the YangWang U8. As the eagerly awaited launch date draws near, the BYD YangWang U8 off-road SUV was seen being transported on a trailer in a video recorded in China.
The BYD YangWang U8 first garnered attention in January when BYD unveiled its unique features, including its ability to perform a 360° tank turn, float on water, and accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in a mere 3.6 seconds. When presales launched in April, customers could choose between the Premium Edition and the Off-road Master Edition, which includes a large rooftop box. An all-electric model is expected to debut later, likely requiring a battery capacity between 200 and 250 kWh.
The Extended Range Electric Vehicle (EREV) trim of the U8 comes with a 49.05 kWh LFP Blade battery, offering a 180 km CLTC range, and a 2L Internal Combustion Engine (ICE) that acts as a generator for the battery. With a full 75-liter tank and a charged battery, the SUV boasts a total range of 1,000 km. Charging the battery from 30% to 80% takes just 5 minutes.
The U8 is equipped with an impressive array of 38 sensors, including 3 lidars, 5 MW radars, 14 ultrasonic radars, and 16 cameras, prioritizing safety and control. Onboard satellite communication ensures connectivity even in remote areas without phone signals. An optional drone docking station is also available.
Both the Premium and Off-road trims share a 3050 mm wheelbase but differ slightly in dimensions. The U8 features electric motors at each wheel, generating 220 kW of power and a maximum output of 880 kW (1,180 HP) with a peak torque of 1280 Nm. Built on BYD’s E4 platform, the U8 is outfitted with a high-end DiSus-P suspension system and 22-inch forged wheels.
The cabin is designed for comfort, offering four large screens: a 12.8-inch instrument panel for the driver, a 23.6-inch infotainment screen, and two additional screens for rear passengers. The U8 is set to compete with the Mercedes EQG and Hummer EV in the Chinese market. However, BYD has not announced any plans for export at this time.

NEW VOLKSWAGEN ID.7 2024 FIRST LOOK #car_2024 #volkswagen #id7
NEW VOLKSWAGEN ID.7 2024 FIRST LOOK #car_2024 #volkswagen #id7
First previewed by the VOLKSWAGEN ID.Aero concept, the ID.7 is a step toward the real thing, which will have a touch-centric interior.
Previewed by the ID.Aero concept, the VOLKSWAGEN ID.7 is a mid-size sedan that will be sold in America, likely as a 2024 model.
While an undisguised ID.7 will be revealed in the coming months, the camoed car provides more details to chew on.
Volkswagen wants everyone to know its next electric model will be a mid-size sedan called the ID.7, which the company today revealed as part of CES 2023. What VOLKSWAGEN doesn't yet want everyone to know is what it actually looks like, hence the light-up camouflage disguising the details of the car's final design.
Despite its obscured appearance, we have a pretty good idea of what the VOLKSWAGEN ID.7 will look like based on the ID.Aero concept we saw last year. The two are one and the same, only now we know the sedan's real name. Volkswagen says an unwrapped production version of the ID.7 will make its world debut in the next several months, but, for now, the camoed car previews more of what to expect.
For those who have fiddled with the digitally controlled air vents in Porsche models such as the Taycan and Panamera, Volkswagen adopts similar technology inside the ID.7. We haven't been fans of the setup in the past, and we doubt this will change our minds. Still, VOLKSWAGEN says the HVAC controls will be accessible on the center touchscreen at all times. The "smart air vents" are also said to have extra skills, such as detecting when the driver is approaching and either heating or cooling the cabin.
Obviously, don't expect this car's intricate technicolor paint to make the final cut, but it's cool, nonetheless. VOLKSWAGEN says it has at least 40 layers, with a mix of conductive and insulating layers among those. The paint is separated into 22 areas, and all but the top layer is electrified, creating illuminated sections that can even be synced up to music. The company also incorporated QR codes into the design, directing people who scan them to a VOLKSWAGEN website.
volkswagen id7 sedan with electroluminescent camouflage side
Still, even trippy electroluminescent paint can't disguise the ID.7's dimensions, which are said to be similar to the outgoing Volkswagen Passat. The ID.7 is essentially that car's spiritual successor, and it represents VOLKSWAGEN 's first electric sedan. Along with a 116.9-inch wheelbase, it's based on the same MEB platform that underpins the ID.4 SUV and ID.Buzz van.
The ID.7 will likely be available with either a single rear-mounted electric motor or an all-wheel-drive setup with dual motors, but Volkswagen hasn't yet released any powertrain details. Instead, the company estimates the ID.7 will provide up to 435 miles of range. That's based on the more optimistic European WLTP cycle, though, so we think its EPA-rated range will be closer to 350 miles.
With the VOLKSWAGEN ID.7 set to make its official debut in the second quarter of this year, we think the U.S. version will likely be a 2024 model. We also expect to learn more about its powertrain and features as well as its price, which we think could start around the $35K mark.

NEW SKODA VISION 7S OVERVIEW 2024 #car_2024 #skoda #vision_7s
NEW SKODA VISION 7S OVERVIEW 2024 #car_2024 #skoda #vision_7s
Skoda is blossoming before our eyes not only in terms of design, but also in terms of technology. The change for the Czech brand is a milestone as symbolic as its entry into the Volkswagen Group more than 30 years ago. What can drivers expect soon?
Not only the Skoda Vision 7S, but also the new Superb and Kodiaq in 2023
It is already clear today that a new electric city car, a compact SUV and a seven-seat electric family car (a seven-seat SUV, the Vision 7S) will hit the roads. At the same time, Skoda is aware of market realities and will not be abandoning combustion cars during the transition phase to electromobility; on the contrary, it will renew the range. In the second half of 2023, it will present the new generation of the Superb and Kodiaq models. A refreshed Skoda Octavia will follow in 2024.
Skoda Vision 7S is a historic sweep of the Czech brand's car styling
The over 5-metre-long Vision 7S relies on an aerodynamic and striking design and proportions never seen before in cars from the Czech brand. In terms of styling, it stands out from Skoda's current offerings. Even the extravagant Enyaq iV looks... modest. The massive front end of the Vision 7S, dubbed the Tech-Deck Face, combines the sensor unit responsible for the car's handling and a completely new lighting system. The ribs of the grill have been replaced by dark glass, which conceals a variety of sensors. The narrow LED headlights on the edge of the car are arranged in two rows, one above the other. With their positioning, they form a T-shape, as do the lamps at the rear. The daytime running lights extend to the sides to resemble wings. Just below the edge of the bonnet runs a strip of light. The Vision 7S is the first Skoda with a matt exterior colour.
At the front and rear, the powerful bumpers made from recycled tyres particularly stand out. The wheel arch cladding is also made from the same material. The 22-inch wheels fill the mudguards to the brim - the shape of the rims is not only striking but also aerodynamic. Seven vertical intakes at the front catch air to cool the brakes and other systems.
The orange elements in the middle of the bumpers are nothing more than fold-out hooks. In addition, it is possible to use them to safely isolate the vehicle from high-voltage current. The lower part of the Vision 7S is protected by an aluminium underrun guard. Additional air outlets are cut between the wheel arches and above the side sills. Ventilation grilles vent warm air to the outside, which was generated while cooling the battery locked in the floor.
Skoda introduces new logo, they chose it from 165 designs
Skoda Vision 7S bigger than Superb and Kodiaq, dimensions and specifications
Access to the cabin is defended by portal doors that open automatically in opposite directions. The absence of a centre slate makes boarding easier.
The centre of the cockpit is dominated by a large, rotating 14.6-inch screen - the largest ever installed in a Skoda car. In driving mode, the display is positioned vertically, allowing information to be perfectly arranged. The upper area shows the map and navigation directions, while the lower area allows other amenities to be operated. The optimally positioned armrest makes operation of the screen and the touch-sensitive buttons easy and comfortable. By swiping up or down, the amount of data displayed can be adjusted. In addition, the menu widget can be used to scroll through various functions. For example, the image from the child-facing camera can be positioned anywhere on the screen and the rest of the view can be occupied by a giant high-resolution map.
These crystals illuminate the entrance to the car with a white light, or warn in red of an oncoming vehicle or cyclist when the door is open. The central area of the door panels is covered with black recycled polyester fabric. Recycled material is also used for the inner areas of the seats and dashboard. The floor and boot, on the other hand, are made entirely from scratch- and stain-resistant recycled tyre veneer.
Finally, the powertrain. The Skoda Vision 7S is equipped with an 89 kWh battery pack. The manufacturer claims that this will provide a maximum range of more than 600 km on the WLTP cycle. The architecture also gives a 200 kW charging capacity.
The sprint depends on the potential of the engine - Skoda's over 300 hp electric SUV in the production version should accelerate from zero to 100 km/h in around 6.6 seconds, which is awe-inspiring given the car's sizeable dimensions. The model with the 204 hp engine is around 9 seconds. The base variant (180 hp) - 9.3 seconds.
