Pfizer Tornado
A tornado heavily damaged a large Pfizer pharmaceutical plant in North Carolina on Wednesday, scattering medicine and other debris around the complex.
Pfizer said its large complex in Rocky Mount was damaged by a twister that tore through Nash County.
"We are assessing the situation to determine the impact on production," the company said. "Our thoughts are with our colleagues, our patients, and the community as we rebuild from this weather incident."
A Pfizer employee who spoke to ABC11 said it happened in a span of 60 to 90 seconds and there was no time to think. He said first the lights flickered inside the facility and then he said it sounded "like a bomb went off.
The worker said he and his group immediately ran to a designated safety area.

Trump January 6th Arrest
Former President Donald Trump says he has received word that he's a target of the grand jury probe into efforts to overturn the 2020 election.
Trump says he learned Sunday that he may be charged with a federal crime by a grand jury investigating the siege on the U.S. Capitol on Jan. 6, 2021.
The former president says the target letter means he is likely to be indicted.
A spokesman for special counsel Jack Smith is declining to comment on Trump's remarks.
But Smith and his team have reached into Trump's inner circle, calling former Vice President Mike Pence and Trump's son-in-law to testify before grand juries in Washington, D.C.
Trump already faces federal charges over allegedly obstructing a separate probe into classified documents at his Florida resort.

Fixing FISA II - Hearing in the Judiciary Committee
FISA stands for the Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Act. It is a United States federal law that governs the surveillance activities of the U.S. intelligence agencies, particularly when conducting surveillance on foreign individuals located outside the United States. FISA was enacted in 1978 and has been amended several times since then.
Under FISA, a special court called the Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Court (FISC) was established to review and authorize requests for electronic surveillance, physical searches, and other forms of intelligence gathering against foreign agents or suspected foreign agents. The court's proceedings are secret and non-adversarial, meaning that only the government presents its case, and there is no opportunity for the subject of surveillance to contest it.
FISA allows the U.S. government to collect intelligence on non-U.S. persons reasonably believed to be outside the United States, even if the surveillance incidentally captures communications of U.S. persons. However, to target a U.S. person, the government needs to establish probable cause that the individual is an agent of a foreign power.
FISA has been a subject of debate and controversy, particularly concerning its potential impact on civil liberties and privacy rights. Critics argue that FISA can be abused to conduct warrantless surveillance on U.S. citizens or collect information for purposes unrelated to national security. Proponents, on the other hand, assert that FISA is crucial for protecting the country against terrorism and other threats by providing a legal framework for intelligence gathering.
It's worth noting that my knowledge is based on information available up until September 2021, and there may have been developments or amendments to FISA since then. For the most up-to-date information, I recommend consulting official sources and legal experts.

Aussie Lesbian Killers
SYDNEY (Reuters) - Two lesbian lovers, one who drank blood as part of a vampire culture, were sentenced to life in prison on Friday for what an Australian judge said was the “evil” killing of a girl they bludgeoned to death with a concrete block.
Jessica Stasinowsky, 21, and Valerie Parashumti, 19, pleaded guilty to murdering 16-year-old Stacey Mitchell in Perth in western Australia in 2006 because she was annoying, reported Australian Associated Press form the court in Perth.
Judge Peter Blaxell said the murder was “sexually perverse” and “evil”, after the court was told the two lesbian lovers became sexually aroused as they battered the teenage girl and then kissed while standing over her body as she lay dying.
“You have each had more than a year in custody to reflect upon the evilness of your crime, yet you still lack remorse and obviously place no value on the sanctity of human life,” Blaxell said in handing down the life sentences.

France has fallen!
A brutal arrest during a peaceful march against police violence has again put French law and order under the spotlight, as the government, fearing further unrest, banned fireworks outside authorised displays during the Bastille Day holiday weekend.
Amid continuing tensions after rioting sparked by last month’s fatal shooting of a teenager, police faced further accusations of brutality on Sunday when video emerged of the arrest of the brother of a black man who died in custody seven years ago.
Youssouf Traoré, 29, was forcefully tackled to the ground and held face down by officers from a controversial rapid reaction force, BRAV-M, at an unauthorised march on Saturday in memory of his brother Adama, who died aged 24 in 2016.

SpaceX Starlink Launch
Starlink is a satellite internet constellation operated by American aerospace company SpaceX,[3] providing satellite Internet access coverage to over 56 countries. It also aims for global mobile phone service after 2023.[4] SpaceX started launching Starlink satellites in 2019. As of May 2023, Starlink consists of over 4,000 mass-produced small satellites in low Earth orbit (LEO),[5] which communicate with designated ground transceivers. In total, nearly 12,000 satellites are planned to be deployed, with a possible later extension to 42,000. SpaceX announced reaching more than 1 million subscribers in December 2022[6] and 1.5 million subscribers in May 2023.[7]
The SpaceX satellite development facility in Redmond, Washington, houses the Starlink research, development, manufacturing, and orbit control teams. The cost of the decade-long project to design, build, and deploy the constellation was estimated by SpaceX in May 2018 to be at least US$10 billion.[8] SpaceX expects more than $30 billion in revenue by 2025 from its satellite constellation, while revenues from its launch business were expected to reach $5 billion in the same year.[9][10]
Astronomers have raised concerns about the effect the constellation can have on ground-based astronomy and how the satellites will add to an already congested orbital environment.[11][12] SpaceX has attempted to mitigate astronomy concerns by implementing several upgrades to Starlink satellites aimed at reducing their brightness during operation.[13] The satellites are equipped with krypton or argon-fueled Hall thrusters which allow them to de-orbit at the end of their life. Additionally, the satellites are designed to autonomously and smoothly avoid collisions based on uplinked tracking data.[14]

Happy 4th of July
The 4th of July, also known as Independence Day, is a significant holiday in the United States. It commemorates the day when the Continental Congress adopted the Declaration of Independence in 1776, declaring independence from British rule. The holiday is celebrated with various festivities and traditions throughout the country.
On the 4th of July, many Americans gather with family and friends for picnics, barbecues, and outdoor activities. Fireworks displays are a popular tradition, with grand shows taking place in cities across the nation. These fireworks often feature elaborate designs and vibrant colors, creating a spectacular visual display.
Parades are another common feature of 4th of July celebrations. These parades typically include marching bands, floats, and participants dressed in patriotic attire. They often highlight the history, values, and symbols associated with American independence.
Additionally, it is common for people to display the American flag during Independence Day celebrations. Many communities organize community events, such as concerts, carnivals, and sporting competitions, to mark the occasion. Some individuals also take the opportunity to reflect on the significance of the holiday and its historical importance.
It's worth noting that while the 4th of July is primarily celebrated in the United States, people of American heritage living abroad or those who appreciate American culture may also observe the holiday in their respective countries.

22nd to 27th Amendment - Documents that made America series
The need for the Constitution grew out of problems with the Articles of Confederation, which established a “firm league of friendship” between the States, and vested most power in a Congress of the Confederation. This power was, however, extremely limited—the central government conducted diplomacy and made war, set weights and measures, and was the final arbiter of disputes between the States. Crucially, it could not raise any funds itself, and was entirely dependent on the States themselves for the money necessary to operate. Each State sent a delegation of between two and seven members to the Congress, and they voted as a bloc with each State getting one vote. But any decision of consequence required a unanimous vote, which led to a government that was paralyzed and ineffectual.
A movement to reform the Articles began, and invitations to attend a convention in Philadelphia to discuss changes to the Articles were sent to the State legislatures in 1787. In May of that year, delegates from 12 of the 13 States (Rhode Island sent no representatives) convened in Philadelphia to begin the work of redesigning government. The delegates to the Constitutional Convention quickly began work on drafting a new Constitution for the United States.
