The outgoing Bishop of Namirembe Diocese Wilberforce Kityo Luwalira applauded Christians for the cooperation in the the period of 14 years he has been has Bishop of Namirembe diocese.

INITIATIVE TO RESTORE WETLANDS LAUNCHED
Rukiga District has launched a wetland restoration initiative. This is the third district in Kigezi Sub-region, in South Western Uganda to embrace the move after Rubanda and Kabale.
The Government of Uganda with Support from the United Nations (UNDP), secured funding under the Green Climate Fund to support wetlands restoration across 24 districts and the Ministry of Water and Environment is spearheading the project's implementation.

PRIME MINISTER ADDRESSES ELECTRIFYING COOKING SESSION AT COP28
The Prime Minister of Uganda Rt. Hon. Nabbanja Robinah has assured world leaders that Uganda’s Vision 2040 aims to create access to clean, affordable, and reliable energy to save the environment.

EMPOWERING PERSONS WITH DISABILITIES: MAKERERE UNIVERSITY'S ENTREPRENEURIAL SKILLS INITIATIVE
Makerere University has empowered persons with disabilities (PWDs) with special skills in Kampala Metropolitan area with entrepreneurial skills.
The UGX 45,797,244 initiative was funded by the Royal Academy of Engineering, to improve their daily incomes as well as elevate their living standards.
The principal investigator of this project Dr. Cathy Mbidde said the project aims at identifying young persons with disabilities engaged in creating innovative business (Products/services), identifying stakeholders that can provide support or opportunities.
He added that there will be harnessing of hidden talents and skills for PWDs and the goal is to help their product penetrate the market.

Uganda is set to host the 2023 ICC T20 Women’s World Cup Qualifiers Africa from Dec 7th -17th in Entebbe. The tournament will feature eight nations Zimbabwe, Tanzania, Namibia, Rwanda, Nigeria, Kenya and hosts Uganda with two teams that make it to the final progressing to the global qualifiers.
