Because the mechanics didn’t properly tighten the oil cap, the oil dripped out and caused the engine to seize. Thankfully, everything (except the truck) is okay!

For now, we don’t want Kota going upstairs or downstairs so she’s easier to keep track of as a puppy. We’ve tried all kinds of barriers, and she’s broken through most of them. Obviously, a pillow barrier is easy to break. She looks funny while she’s breaking through it.

They have been in their coop longer than normal as we attempt to catch their predator(s). They love being free!

Their crows are so funny! These are our meat chickens.

Kids need to learn life skills… and I don’t want to process an entire garden by myself! Today, I figured out age appropriate ways they could help me! Overall, it went well. Bonus: I got it done quicker with help!

It is always crazy how soon they put out Christmas decor at the stores!

Apparently this is happened before, but this is the first time I saw it! I don’t know the result, but definitely they had different opinions of who should roost here. Funny that an open box was right next to it.

It’s always funny when dogs go what you don’t expect.

Tonight we had the fancy sushi that made me like sushi for our birthday dinner. (Erik and I share a birthday month!) It was SO good!

We prepped the night before by rebuilding the duck blind. Then we had a good morning out! Only brought one duck home. Still good to get out!

She got out of the house off leash and found the pond! Ugh, she was SO messy!

We were down here checking our snares for our duck predator problem, and apparently the chickens found themselves in a funny spot. They don’t like water, but they walked right next to it, right between the pond and the ducks’ cage. They got out safely.

It’s always fun to watch meat chickens devour food!

We have lost some ducks to a predator, unfortunately. Erik wasn’t sure what was taking it. We thought it could be a bird or snapping turtle, but it turns out after taking down some weeds behind the pond, it was most likely a fox. Snares are now set! This video is of our family putting the ducks into their cage so they would be safe until we catch the predator!

I had just filled their pool with fresh water, but they didn’t want to go into it because I was far too close for their comfort!

We had to put Kota in her kennel two times today, so we wanted to make sure she was worn out before we left. This is a great way to do it!
