Sate Lilit Be Siap is Balinese minced chicken sate and is one of Bali’s best known street food. It is also often served in a Balinese buffet and as part of Nasi Campur. Nasi Kuning
Nasi Kuning (steamed yellow rice) is a very popular dish in Indonesia. The yellow colour comes from the Turmeric and also we add coconut milk, makes the flavour lovely and rich. In my hometown Gianyar, people make yellow rice on Banyu Pinaruh holy day as an offering and as a special food. You can also find Nasi kuning easily on the street where lots of warung sell it. I hope you enjoy the video 😊

Thai Papaya Salad
Thai Papaya Salad is one of my all time favorite salads. So refreshing and with a sweet and sour flavour, totally delicious. Mmmmm just thinking of it makes my mouth water. First time I tried this salad was 11 years ago at work. It was such a surprise to me that we could eat raw papaya because in Bali we were always told to cook it first, and ensure it was ripe. Only when I googled the benefits of young green papaya did I learn how tasty it was and good for you too. I hope you enjoy the video😊

Balinese Braised Pork Rib with Young Jackfruit (Balung Nangka)
Braised Pork Rib with Young Jackfruit. In Balinese we call it Balung Nangka. This is an old Balinese recipe , Normally we make this for the Galungan celebration to accompany Lawar (Balinese side dish made from vegetables such as jackfruit snake bean, young papaya, meat and Bumbu Genep ) Rice and Urutan ( Balinese sausages)
But nowadays you can find this soup in every Babi Guling ( Suckling Pig) warung, ( street restaurant) Here I use uncooked Bumbu Genep and actually I only use 60 ml of coconut oil. If you would like to use vegetable oil instead, this is absolutely fine. Please check the link below for my Bumbu Genep recipe , hope you enjoy the video 😊

Babi Kecap (Pork in Sweet Soy Sauce )
Served for 2 to 4 people 😊
Babi kecap is called ‘Be Celeng Mebase Manis’ here in Bali. This is one of the ‘must have’ dishes at a Balinese wedding reception. The taste is sweet and mildly spicy. Always good served with rice and lawar (Balinese jackfruit salad) 😊
Happy cooking🥰
Ingredients:
800 gr pork shoulder
10 pcs shallots
8 pcs garlic
7 bali hot peppers or birds eye chillies
10 gr ginger
2 gr galangal
2 tbsp vegetable oil
3 pcs star anise
1 pcs (3 cm) cinnamon stick
4 tbsp sweet soy sauce (kecap manis)
1 tbsp salty soy sauce
800 ml chicken stock
A pinch of black pepper corn
1/4 tsp salt
For the garnish
2 pcs kaffir lime leaves
1 big red chili
Ooops, I made a mistake in the video, the chilli used for garnish is actually the big red chilli (Tabya Lombok) not the bird’s eye chilli. Hope you enjoy the video 😊
