Can JAKOB INGEBRIGTSEN Break the Mile EUROPEAN RECORD
Can JAKOB INGEBRIGTSEN Break the Mile EUROPEAN RECORD - Probably
Jakob Ingebrigtsen will run the dream mile at the Oslo Diamond league known as the Bislett games today on June 16th. It is believed he will attempt to break Steve Cram's European Mile record of 3:46.32.
Find out where you can watch on the diamond league website.
We'll probably not be too fast in announcing the news so keep up to date with Total running productions and maybe the runner will also make a video this time next year. Even the flotrack podcast will cover it.

NIKE ALPHAFLY 2 REVIEW
This is my first impressions of the Nike Alphafly 2. The Nike Alphafly next% 2 review or if you think that's too long then just the Alphafly 2 review.
I would link for somewhere you can buy it, but as far as I'm aware the Nike Alphafly 2 is sold out already but your best chances to get are:
Nike - https://www.nike.com/gb/t/air-zoom-alphafly-next-2-proto-road-racing-shoes-VPJphP/DJ6206-100?CP=EUNS_AFF_AWIN_UK_900999_httpswwwinstagramcomtrackstaa_169839&utm_source=httpswwwinstagramcomtrackstaa&utm_medium=affiliate&utm_campaign=900999&utm_content=169839&awc=16327_1655296873_579e2d225f504d5f65bee4077814a330
Sportshoes - https://bit.ly/3zAE0Ef
Personally the Nike Alphafly next% 2 is now my favourite shoe for the 5K distance and upwards. The Vaporfly can also pretty much equally content with it on the 5K but I think the Alphafly 2 has a bit of an edge as the distances get longer. I believe in Alpahfly 2 is the best road racing shoe on the planet.

WHY RUNNERS SHOULD DO HILL TRAINING
This video covers one of the best training methods for runners, hill training. Or more specifically hill repeats. This training is seen regulary in athletes such as Jakob Ingebrigtsen, Cole Hocker and Cooper Teare.
it can be used for:
all sprint training,
800m training,
1500m training,
Mile training,
5000m training / 5K training
10000m training / 10000m training
half marathon training,
marathon training, and every distance above.
every runner would more than likely benefit from hill training

LONG THRESHOLD WORKOUT
This is a 12K threshold workout as I attempt to build back into normal training after a rough last few weeks. The reason for the threshold workout is because I usually see great benefit from running at that pace, as well as it allows me to get a lot of quality miles in without too much strain on the muscles. Recovery has been my biggest issue during track season training, so I wanted a session that would leave me feeling fresher than usual.
Marius Bakken and Jakob Ingebrigtsen training video - https://youtu.be/hOp_NK0TRN4
Threshold in my opinion is the best training for distance runners and is the best training for 5K and the best training for 10K. I would also say the best marathon training and the best half marathon training. It has a lot of versatility.

NIKE RUNNING DOMINANCE (NIKE ALPHAFLY 2)
NIKE RUNNING DOMINANCE (NIKE ALPHAFLY 2)
This video covers the Nike running dominance and how that may increase with their new shoes; Nike Alphafly 2, Nike Zoom fly 5 and the Nike Pegasus turbo nature
6 years ago, dates back to when we saw the first super shoe, at the Rio Olympics, well at least a prototype of a super shoe. That was when the vaporfly was born. Since then we had Nike dominate the road races with the Vaporlfy 4%, Vaporfly 4% flyknit and then the Nike Vaporfly next%. The next% took super shoes to the next level and was pretty much untouchable. Then came Kipchoges 2nd sub 2 attempt where he broke the 2 hour marathon barrier wearing the Alphafly. Well, a specifically designed Alphalfy. And although the alphafly to date is statistically the most efficient super shoe it hasn’t quite took full force like we saw in the Vaporfly. During the time to present, we’ve seen the Next% 2 released and many other brands catch up to Nike within the supershoe department.
Even the new Pegasus 39 has received a lot of love after some disappointing renditions over the last few years. We’ve already seen Nike athletes break both of the half marathon World records this year and we expect them to break many more in the near future with Jakob Ingebrigtsen, Jacob Kiplimo, Joshua Cheptegei, Aregawi, Kipyegon, Gidey, Niyonsaba and Hassan.

Pre Classic Diamond League World Records?!
Pre Classic Diamond League World Records?!
Prefontaine classic Diamond League
We’re on World record watch at the Preclassic with many official record attempts. However, we believe it’s forecast rain and wind so if the weather comes through as forecast then records are looking unlikely. But before we get into it be sure to comment your predictions and to our 4 previous giveaway winners from the last prediction contest, you’ll hear from us today in regards to the prizes.
Women’s 2 Mile – Niyonsaba is the one marketed to attempt this record of… But Sifan Hassan was a late entry so realistically that’s potentially two runners who could break the record.
Women’s 5000m – Gidey who already holds the WR is going for it again. I wouldn’t be surprised if she becomes the first woman to run sub 14:00, but if that will happen at the preclassic only time will tell.
Men’s 5000m – controversial as Joshua Cheptegei goes to break his own WR of 12:35 whilst possibly other WR standard runners in Jacob Kiplimo and Belew Aregawi are in the diamond league race the day after. It would be nice to see them all race together in a WR attempt but saying that Cheptegei is the current record holder, so I guess he has priority.
And lasty the Men’s mile featuring Jakob Ingebrigtsen, Timothy Cheriyout, Abel Kipsang, Cooper Teare and many more World class athletes, is not a WR attempt, so for getting you hopes up, but regardless this race on the Saturday will be a really interesting one because it features Olympic gold and silver medallist in the 1500m as well as the person who’s looked the best this year in Abel Kipsang. Jakob only started specific track training two weeks ago so if he wins this then I have no words… It’s also interesting because Cooper Teare joked about a rivalry between himself and Ingebrigtsen, which Ingebrigtsen jokingly replied saying how it isn’t a rivalry. Implying Jakob is in a class above. Regardless of whether the main race will be between Cooper and Jakob it’ll be exciting to see how fast Cooper can go, as well as another Athlete in highschooler Colin Sahlman.

Long Track Workout for 5K training
This video is a long track workout during the early stages of 5K training and 10K training. It is 25 x 400m with 30 seconds standing recovery. Starting at somewhere between 5K and 10K pace and getting down to around 1500m pace for the last few 400m reps.
400m repeats are a classic workout that can be done in many variations. The 30 seconds rest is a great way to get a lot of volume in at a good pace, whilst still working on your aerobic system. I believe any short recovery or jog recovery sessions have a larger benefit on aerobic fitness. Whilst still giving you the ability to get down to faster paces. 400m repeats can be used for 800m runners all the way to the marathon, so it is a great versatile workout for all runners.

BEST WORKOUT FOR ENDURANCE (Fartlek)
This in my Opinion is the best training for endurance runners. It incorporates 10K pace and tempo pace in the form of a Fartlek.

If you're trying to get a stronger aerobic system this Fartlek workout could be adapted to your training as I've seen a lot of benefit from this specific type of training for endurance.

THE BEST 5000M RACE
This video is a preview of what we think is the most exciting 5000m race start list in history. We're not talking in terms of time, but rather in terms of the names within the race. `Featuring Jakob Ingebrigtsen, Nico Young, Josh Kerr, Joe Klecker, Edward Cheserek, and many more. It includes the Sit and kick podcast, NAU runners and a member of the Coffee Club podcast. Not to mention countless NCAA winners in the 3000m, 5000m and 10000m and even a multiple NCAA xc winner in Conner Mantz.
Races by Sound running and On athletic club
Script just ignore:
Sound running event
The Men’s 5000m – After a star studded field was coming together, one surprise entry was added to the list on the 27th of April. That was Jakob Ingebrigtsen. Not only is this the Olympic champions first non diamond league race in the US since his amazing performance at Payton Jordan where he took down the likes of Matthew Centrowitz, Craig Engels and Paul Chelimo, whilst only being 17 years old, but is it his first outdoor race of the 2022 season, in an event where he ran a European record of 12:48 last season. No we’re not expecting another European record since he is the fastest in the field by 14 seconds, but why is Jakob being in this race specifically so exciting.
The main benefit of Jakob Ingebrigtsen being in this race is the people he’s competing against and the content/excitement we will see surrounding the event. First of all, for viewing figures Jakob can move numbers and since this meet has a Pay Per View format, it should be the first time where we can see the power and positive benefit this method has on the sport, in terms of the generation of revenue.
Back to Jakob’s competition. Drew Hunter, Sam Parsons, Josh Kerr, David Ribbich and Joe Klecker are some that stand out, maybe not because they are his main challenges in this distance but because they are all connected to content creation in the sport. Drew Hunter and Sam Parsons are obviously part of tinman elite, Josh Kerr and David Ribbich are hosts of the Sit and kick podcast and Joe Klecker has connection with the Coffee Club podcast. They’ll be lots of hype and content from them surrounding this race.
We will be doing an Trackstaa Arm sleeves giveaway plus a custom sports card of the winner of this race. So, comment your predictions below including who will win the race and the time. If you guess the correct winner and time to the second, you will win! As long as you’re subscribed to us and have liked the video.
This race also features an NAU trio of Nico Young, Drew Bosley and Abdihamid Nur, the later being double indoor NCAA champion. Also, NCAA champions Patrik Dever and Conner Mantz are featured. And to add the cherry on top Edwar Cheserek and Hassan Mead make the lineup. It feels as If you got track and field fans to make a fantasy 5000m race, this would be it. Without the addition of some Nike athletes who don’t like to race without a controlled environment.
That’s a joke. We were against the idea of Cooper Teare and Cole Hocker specifically not racing the Penn relays, but honestly, we’re now in full support of the Heyward field prioritisation. Afterall they are previous Oregon ducks and I think this connection just adds excitement for this year’s World championships as well as growing Cooper and Cole’s brand of being the perfect Nike athletes being a company that was founded and has head offices in Oregon. Bowerman Track club on the other hand, please get Mo Ahmed and Grant Fischer entered so we can see them race Jakob, thank you.
Whilst we’re on about the Ingebrigtsen’s Henrik Ingebrigtsen is actually racing today at Payton Jordan in the 5000m as well. A race he has won previously. I would say go watch it, but it’s on Flotrack, so don’t…
And staying on the Ingebrigtsen subject we made a video about the training methods they use which you can watch here! Remember to comment your time predictions.
