This has never happened before... At the Prefontaine classic diamond league final The Eugene diamond league was likely the best 2 days of track and field ever, or at least outside of the Olympics or world championships. 2 world records and countless continental and national records. As well as pretty much the best in the world all competing against each other in every event. Three things stood out more than others… Gudaf Tsegay 5000m world record. for anyone who wants to know what a sub 14 minute 5K feels like go run a 67 second 400m and imagine that 12.5 times none stop Mondo Duplantis world record Pole Vault – It’s mondo against himself, world record after world record after world record, he’s so much better than everyone else the only thing he has left to do in the sport is to continue getting those world record bonuses and race Sha’carri Richardson in the 100m. Which Mondo would more than certainly win but it would be fun to watch Jakob Ingebrigtsen, had quite a few doubters after placing second in the 1500m at worlds, but he silenced a lot of them by winning back to back diamond league titles. Running the 3rd fastest time in history for a 3:43 mile and then following it up with the 3rd fastest 3000m in history a day later. It’s safe to say next year he seems capable of breaking anything from the 1500m to the 5000m world records.

This weekend's great north run marks the final ever elite race with one of the distance running greats Mo Farah. He boasted times of 3:28 in the 1500m, 12:53 in the 5000m, 26:46 in the 10000m, 59:32 in the half marathon and 2:05.11 in the Marathon. He also owns the World records in the indoor 2 mile with 8:03.40 and the track 1 hour world record covering 21330m. But despite some impressive times, he earnt his name in the history books with his championship success. 4 OLYMPIC GOLD MEDALS, 6 WORLD CHAMPIONSHIP GOLDS, 2 WORLD CHAMPIONSHIP SILVERS, 5 EUROPEAN OUTDOOR GOLDS, 2 EUROPEAN INDOOR GOLDS AND 21 DIAMOND LEAGUE WINS. Its undeniable that Farah will go down as one of the greatest to ever race, but the two questions we have are what is your favourite Mo Farah moment and would he beat the current 5000m world champion Jakob Ingebrigtsen in a 5000m championship race?

We got to interview the marathon world record holder and arguably the most famous runner on the planet Eliud Kipchoge. This was a week after his Boston marathon defeat. Day 6 of the world champions had some big names competing like Noah Lyles, Sha’carri Richardson, Femke Bol and Jakob Ingebrigtsen and like most competitions so far in the world championships all the stars performed well. No real surpises in the men’s 5000m as we saw the likes of Jakob Ingebrigtsen, Katir, Aregawi and Chelimo all qualify, there was a fall from Tinman elites Sam Parsons and Stewy Mcsweyn, but Stewy has been progressed into the next round. The men’s long jump finals saw Tentoglou take the win in his final jump with a 8.52m jump, with Jamaicans Pinnock and Gayle in 2nd and 3rd. All the big hitters qualified in the men and women’s 200m with Noah Lyles look the most impressive in the semi- finals with his cruising 19.76. Camryn Rogers took the win in the women’s hammer throw with a 77.22 throw, followed by American’s Kassanavoid and Price. The men’s 800m final had Kenyan Wanyoni looking the strongest with his 1:43.83, Hoppel of USA and Pattison of Great Britain both made the final. Kicking off Jamaica’s gold medal evening Danielle Wiliams won the women’s 100m hurdles with 12.43, Camacho-Quinn got 2nd and Kennie Harrison was 3rd. The Men’s 400m was Jamaica’s 2nd gold of the night as Antonio Watson won with 44.22 followed by Matthew Hudson Smith and Quincy Hall And the final event of the day saw Femke Bol become world champion in the women’s 400m hurdles with a 51.70, Shamier little got silver and Rushell Clayton got bronze, making that 5 medals for Jamaica in just over 1 hour.
