Remember the mission and remember… To Remember is not enough!!!
PATRIOT PRIDE
Tonight's guest, Travis Partington, is amazing as always! This is a brother who is the definition of support and devotion. He never fails to include and build up, while being boots on the ground with those of us who are out there doing the service for those who have served. Don’t miss him on his show as well: Oscar Mike
We had Taylor Ullom on to share information about Guitars for Vets and to share her new song. It was amazing! Taylor started playing guitar when she was only 16. She started the Nebraska Chapter of Guitars 4 Vets because of her passion for helping others and sharing her story and struggles with PTSD. Now she is listed as the National Development Director/Instructor for Guitars for Vets and she is still advocating for veterans and their families and doing it on a much larger scale. Her newly written song is titled, On The Road, and it is about her time spent traveling so much as a military child. If you have been contemplating picking up a guitar just for fun, or as a new career path and you are a veteran, then you should probably look into signing up with Guitars for Vets @ https://guitars4vets.org

Weekly Debrief 16 October 2023
Kimmer Gee shares her story of devastating relationships and betrayal during her service. An MST survivor and a brave and courageous person, Kimmer tells her story and how she came to find new comfort in relationships with friends years later.
Last night we had music from Dom Cours. Dom is a busy man and he has lots of things going on. He has a few upcoming shows where you can see him play. He’s got a gig on opening night at FARM, which stands for Farmers Assisting Returning Military, and another show on Veteran’s Day at the 5x5 Brewery which happens to be owned by an Army veteran. Check out Dom if you get the chance. His first song was Aspen Leaves. He tells a story about how he got the opportunity to go hunting in Wyoming and now he’s got that elk hunting fever. The next song was Nobody. He and his brother wrote this entirely fictional song about a guy that caught amnesia. He may or may not have done something wrong before he caught amnesia, but he doesn’t know and everyone else thinks he’s guilty. The last song was called Ten Toes. The title to this song admittedly comes with a few laughs, but it’s about getting your feet underneath you and taking a stand on firm ground.

Jessica Lynch was an amazing guest to have on. She shared her story with all the calm patience that comes from her very own strong Mindset.
The theme of the night was definitely Persistence and Resilience. The notion that you need to make it “one more day” and then One More Day.
We had music from Jamey Peacock and Red Dirt Redemption. They have two members that are veterans, and they have some music that definitely stems from the service and after-service life they lived. First song was titled Chasing White Lines. The sentiment here is that as veterans, we are often looking to deal with our issues in our own way. That will sometimes lead to using substances and a contribution to the opioid epidemic. The message in the song is that you can put down the substances and find peace and life outside of opiates. The title to the second song was Jim Beam. Jamey had started drinking at an early age and many of us in the military develop a propensity for alcohol at some point, but Jamey realized that the use of alcohol was not a good choice for him. He put down the bottle about 7 years ago and life has gotten better for him ever since. The last song of the night was a cover of Hurricane, which is one of my favorite songs and they did an excellent job with that song as well.

Mark: WGY6@6 Guests: Chuck Tyler would have been here, but was not quite up to par today. WE will see him again in the near future!
Jonathan: Last night we had some live music by Brian McCleery. Brian started playing music in the 6th grade and ended up settling on the guitar. After joining the Army at the age of 18, Brian would play his guitar on all of his deployments, never losing the will to pick up his guitar. We only got the chance to hear 2 songs last night, but they did not disappoint. The first song, Nowhere Train, was a song about Jody. If you’ve ever been in the military, you’ve probably known someone who was Jody’d, or at least heard about it. The second song was Our Version of Love. Brian mentioned just wanting to give back and play music…What a blessing to meet him and hear his story last night.

WeP3 Weekly Debrief - 11 September 2024
Mark: WGY6@6 Guests: Phil Cook shared all that he is involved in - he is very active in the Irreverent Warriors project, and fills up most of his spare time doing other community service events - especially those that honor and remember veterans and service members.
Jonathan: Last night we had some music from Scotti Fraser. The first song was called Red, White & Blue…It’s a love song about this girl who looks good in red, white and blue. In the last verse you find out that the girl he’s in love with is the flag “Old Glory.” The second song he sang was called Do or Die. It is the title song from their first album. He said this song is kind of the military motto and no it’s not hurry up and wait. A line in the song says, “Minds not to wonder why, it’s just to do or die.” What an amazing thought to think about those times when you were on mission and there was no thought of anything except the mission. No questions about why or anything, just the mission and it was do or die in some instances. The last song was called Never Surrender and it will be the title of his new album when it comes out. The message here is just don’t give up on life. Every day above dirt is another day to make a difference in your life and in someone else’s life. He hopes to have a video for this song by January 2024.

Jonathan: Last night we had some new music by Scotti Fraser. Half The Way Home is a brand new release from Scotti. Our guest was Rodney Douglas Norman comedian extraordinaire. Rodney makes ridiculous videos in hopes of bringing hope, peace, love and happiness to as many people as possible. Rodney joined the military because of the Gulf War, which would start and end during his first week in bootcamp. Rodney wants to be positive and spread positivity across everyone he meets. On September 3, We Got Your 6@6 Patriot Playtime will feature Tim Labatzky of Patriot Owned Businesses, and he will share his mission and what it can do for all of us. Tim did not serve but comes from a history of those who have served. He started Patriot Owned Businesses to help keep businesses running as he saw the recession coming as he had seen his grandfather and parents lose their businesses and were concerned about the employees that would lose their jobs. Lots of talk about what the very word “Patriot” means in this session.
Joel Faulisi is a Coast Guard Veteran and is now playing music. After being diagnosed with Parkinsons, he went through some stages of depression following that. Then he found guitars for vets and went through the program. He is now teaching with Guitars for Heroes, even though he deals with tremors in his hands and has trouble holding the pick at times, but what a positive outlook Joel has on everything he is going through. He is currently working on a song for his brother called, “The Brother Song” and last night he shared with us the unfinished version of the song. Last night we had some music from Joel Grant Faulisi - Joel is a Coast Guard Veteran. He was diagnosed with Parkinsons in March 2020 and he went through some stages of depression following that. Then he found guitars for vets and went through the program. After completing they asked him if he would like to be an instructor and now he is teaching vets to play the guitar. He said if it wasn’t for Guitars for Vets, he doesn’t know where he would be right now. He has tremors in his hands and has trouble holding the pick at times, but what a positive outlook Joel has on everything he is going through. He lost a friend who was a Navy veteran of 12 years to a brain tumor a few years back. He is currently working on a song for his brother called, “The Brother Song” and last night he shared with us the unfinished version of the song. The song speaks volumes to the power of music to span all sorts of gaps in communication to speak directly to the souls of so many individuals.

WeP3 Weekly Debrief - 28 August 2023
Debrief is here to let you know what WE have been up to the past weeks, as well as share what others are doing to help the cause. Call outs: All those who took part in the Operation Zero event last weekend at Veterans Lake in Ramsey, MN. Especially to Kristina, who is the face of the planning and recruiting for this event 🙂
WE KNOW WHY WE GET TO DO THIS... THANK YOU TO THE SERVICE MEMBERS AND FIRST RESPONDERS THAT HAVE COMMITTED THEIR TIME, SWEAT, BLOOD, LIMBS, FAMILY and LIFE... TO GIVE US THE FREEDOMS THAT WE HAVE THAT ALLOW US TO WHAT WE DO DAILY.
Our guest yesterday was THUMP from Shadowmark podcast. He realized college was not his thing, so the Marine Corp was for him, and mom was not excited. He had goal of being a firefighter when he got out - but was in aviation ordinance - building bombs. He is now 10 years a firefighter, and when it hit him that suicide was high flying in that field, he and TJ jumped on the podcast wagon to do what they can to help. What's the mission? TJ is still serving - they want to help. They want to bond and network with many - their mission is so like ours. "We all fought for the rights of people to disagree with what we think, so what we need to do is just love everybody."
Last night we had music from Joe Allen Christi. https://joeallenchristi.com/ He is an AF Grad - 24 years in 2019. Joe Allen loves that he gave back to his country, military turned him into a man. He has a wife and 2 kids, has traveled the world, and is super grateful to have served. "It is a brotherhood, all brothers and sisters".
Joe Allen is part of a band now, and his son wants to join the Air Force.
First song: Keep the Flag - his favorite and dedicated to Gold Star Families dealing with losing somebody in war - he is grateful to those who put their lives at risk and were deployed in the tough places … and lost their lives and loved ones. He had a friend who was military and passed away and was awed by the process and look of the funeral procession. He did not know guitar well, but learned during service, also was not a great voice, but took lessons and loves playing and writing - its a slow progression.
Second Song: Freedom to Me - Whats freedom to you is freedom to me… not always eye to eye. Has personal experience with taking his son out of the school and doing home school instead, just really because of his learning style …
Third Song: Grandpa’s Fishing Hole - his grandpa was his guy cuz his parents didn’t get along and grandpa was who was there for him. He can't wait to be a grandpa!

WeP3 Weekly Debrief - 21 August 2023
Debrief is here to let you know what WE have been up to the past weeks, as well as share what others are doing to help the cause.
Contagion Effect Show and Eric Mello is a ham! Contagion Effect is a great podcast put on by a couple guys who just love to support and have some fun!
We have music with Tucker Hart on this show. After some health issues, he was becoming a shut-in and not wanting to be around the people and the noise.
He was determined not to be stuck and to do something with his life, and facing the enemy that wanted to end his life, so he worked his way out physically and worked on his spirituality. He is using his recovery as his therapy, and his music is to continue that therapy and share his music with others. Tucker has a few new songs coming up. He plays voluntary at nursing homes and care facilities.
First song: Mr. Pocket - He was teaching free English, learned a lot of Japanese, he got to thinking about prospecting: this gave him the inspiration to write this song
Found his ‘new’ voice after Joy Williams - after a series of cranial release sessions
Eric brought Tucker in to ask about the Saloon Door event
Second song - First Frost in El Paso: inspired by the fact that truckers do a hard job and they don’t get enough recognition or appreciation. Maybe someday the subject of a Hallmark Christmas movie - about a truck driver making his last drop and then heading home for Christmas
Third song - 40 Years - about a farmer - working through the relationship while farm is struggling … also ties the missing family while deployed – Awesome song!!! Another new release!
Andrea: What’s Coming Up: Jason Steiner also joined us last night to share updates about the upcoming Herostock event. How exciting to be part of the event that just keeps growing and growing!
